West Park Animal Hospital

Dr. Sara was awesome! I had not had my cat to a vet in a very long time. She's an only child and is an indoor cat. She rarely sees the outdoors. When I went to get her in the cage, she freaked out and I couldn't get her in it. I called West Park and explained and said I would be late. They were very understanding and said if I could get in within the hour, that would be fine. I was a half hour late and somewhat frazzled. Everyone was helpful and kind when I got there. This was my 1st time at West Park Animal Hospital, so overall, I was pleasantly surprised. These folks are great! I would highly recommend them for your pet...and you.

West Park has always had appointments available since they have such great hours. I've been taking my dogs there since they were puppies (10 yrs) and my only complaint is that we rarely get the same doctor.

It's a very nice office. All the veterinarians are nice and you never have any trouble getting an appointment when you need one. They are very caring as well. I would rate them overall an A and will continue to use them.

We took our puppy there a few yrs. ago and discovered she had meningitis. Although the Dr. had never treated it before, he did extensive research on the ailment. She is now almost 4 and perfectly healthy!

My daughter bought a rat from a pet store, she had babies within a week. Then a few months later she developed a tumor that was growing daily. I took her in and the doctor explained this was common. She performed surgery to remove the tumor and was very great with the animal. I was very happy to find someone willing to treat a rat in the first place, but this place was really great all around, they called to check up on her also.

Their location is convenient. It is easy to get an appointment, and they office environment is new and clean. All of the doctors there are nice as well. Their prices compare well with other vet services.

They do a very good job with my dog. I think that their customer service and staff friendliness is very good. I would recommend them.

We had been bringing our Alaskan Malamute and other dogs there for years. This past January our dog was having problems walking and standing up. We took her West Park like we always did. They kept her for 2 days and did all kinds of tests for over $ 1100.00. the diagnosis was arthritis in her knees. They gave us pills and said take her home. 2 days later I called and wanted to talk to the vet that treated her. She was too busy to call me back. The following week she was walking a little so we thought she was recovering.We were going out of town on vacation and boarded her at Paws by the Lake in avon. they called us 2 days into our vacation to say she would not get up or walk. We gave them, Avon Animal Clinic permission to do more x rays and they found she had bone cancer and a fractured leg. We ended up putting her down after that was discovered. We are very unhappy with West Park animal hospital for not catching this and charging us what they did. We will be using Avon Lake Animal clinic from now on.

They are very accomodating and do a wonderful job. They are very clean and seem to get us in pretty quickly. I feel the price is fair.

It was a sad experience, but they were very professional about it and did it well. They let me be with the cat while they were putting him to sleep. They were very nice. They're very easy to get in. I can always get an appointment the same day. You can find lower prices, but their price is worth it. The office is very clean. They're very compassionate to the animals.

We have a dog and a cat and they are outstanding in every way. One time we had a problem with our dog, he had some bleeding issues. They were open later than most places are. The place is very modern and the prices are of course up but the kind of care you get there it can be matched. They actually board our cat and dog on vacation but they are small and not too many. If you call early enough you usually can get them and sometimes we'll come home late from a trip and their office is still open and there is usually someone there even at 1'o clock in the morning. They are probably not more expensive but they are little higher than average. The veterinarians are outstanding. I've never had one that we had an issue with. I can make a phone call to them if I got some concern about my pets and if it is something minor they will talk to me over or they will talk to one of the vets and get some information back whether to wait a day or two or to bring the pets in. They are very good even over the phone. Not everybody will be able to pay that price but depending on what's going on with the cats or dogs. I'm amazed at how many animals they can get in and you don't really have to wait that long. Even with your appointments you might be a couple of minutes late but it's nothing like one doctor I went to.

They are very reasonable. They are open 24 hours a day. They've been here for many years. I've had them for years. I had to have my other dog put down and they sent me a sympathy card. They are very family oriented. They understand how family gets attached to their animals. They are honest. My last dog, they said I could take in there and then have surgery, but it wasn't going to help. It would be a waste of our money. They are very good. I would continue to use them in the future.

Ten years ago, I had a young cat that was actually my first pet. I had a procedure done on that animal with another veterinary hospital that was closer to my home. My instinct was that the animal was very sick. They ridiculed and belittled me. They were just horrible. I have been around animals for my whole life, so I knew there was something wrong with that animal. I called this hospital about ten minutes before they closed. A young vet got on the line and told me to take the animal there right away. Dr. Megan saved my cat. He was hospitalized for two weeks. This is a great clinic with amazing vets that really connect to the owners. All of the vets are young, and they all went to Ohio State, which is a great place to go for a veterinarian. It's a really tight community of vets. They are just awesome. You can always get in. You might not see the same vet, but they are always accessible. I think they are affordable. We have gotten a lot of years out of our pets because of them.

West Park Animal Hospital did a fine job and were able to treat my pet effectively.

I would have to give them a ten, a ten and a ten only because I have been there so many times. They are just great. They worked with my dog and they were gentle with my birds. The prices are really reasonable. I didn't feel like they gauche me. I really like them but they are far away. I feel confident in their service.

I have the nicest vet at West Park Animal Hospital. I had another place that I used for 30 years but when I bought my cat I got a coupon to West Park Animal Hospital and ever since then I have used them! You can tell that they are very kind and that they love animals. I go to one of the owners and he always explains everything very well. When they give the shots they take the animals in the back and take care of it, compared to my other doctor where I had to hold down the cat myself. They even send birthday cards and they have an online service. Because it is an animal hospital they have available hours of up to midnight.

Dr. Kari Swedenborg is an extremely kind, caring, compassionate, respectful and knowledgeable veterinarian - and most importantly, she loves animals! She explains things very well and makes suggestions, but never tries to "stiff arm" pet owners into doing anything they do not feel uncomfortable doing and never tries to get them to spend more money than they can afford. I took a very sick and pregnant stray cat in for an examination and treatment and am very satisfied as to how everything went. I have taken my pets to see Dr. Swedenborg for years and cannot put into words how wonderful she is. This practice also offers kennelling services, physical therapy services and radiology services. They are also very involved in the community.

My animals have seen a couple of different veterinarians in the office. Dr. Jonathan and Dr. Scott have both been very nice and helpful. The office is very convenient to where I live. The office is very nice and clean looking. They have a good number of people who work in the office. There are some girls who work at the counter who have been helpful and they always seem to have enough veterinarians in the office. I like that when I call up the office I can always get my animals in pretty quick. Their prices are comparable to other practices.

This was our most recent adventure. My dog has also had biopsies and surgery for malignant melanoma, besides routine vaccinations and check-ups. This is an amazing facility. We usually see Dr. Scott Zielinski, who has done an amazing and caring job with my dog, but all the vets, techs, etc. have been very professional and kind. Their facilities are amazing, the treatments they use are very up to date, and the opportunity to go through doggie rehab was wonderful for me and my dog. You would never know that just a few months ago, she couldn't use one of her legs.

I took my cat in because she had become lethargic and losing weight. I called on a Saturday evening and was able to get her in on Monday. She ended up spending 4 nights. Dr. Amanda was wonderful -- she gave me updates at least once a day and encouraged me to come up to the hospital in the evenings to visit. The visit was definitely pricey, but expected for a lengthy hospitalization. Everyone, especially the doctors and technicians, were extremely helpful in showing me how to provide treatments to my cat at home and clearly cared about her well-being.

They are wonderful, my cat just died recently and for the 19 years that we had the cat he went to very appointment to this animal hospital. The doctor is very knowledgeable, and one time when I was in Florida and my cat got sick, he coordinated and talked to the vet out there.

The vet was attentive, calmly assessed the cats' needs and was very professional. Both cats were calmed by the demeanor of the vet. I picked them up later in the day after their cleaning and it was done very well. I have used their services before and have always found them to be extraordinarily efficient, skilled, and compassionate. They are also excellent diagnosticians. Their facilities are modern, clean and inviting.

I made an appointment for an initial exam. We waited 30 minutes in a room, finally a young female doctor came in and took our dog in the back. They came back and she said he needed heart worm medications and he had an ear infection. That bill cost $100. The next day, our dog was coughing, kennel cough, as I expected and I noticed he had things stuck to his rear. I went back to the hospital. It was a little difficult to get an appointment. The receptionist was a little rude. This time a different female doctor listened to my description and prescribed tapeworm medications and an antibiotic. She never looked at him. This visit cost $79. They told me I could bring in a stool sample for analysis, but that would cost more. I am not happy that I requested a through exam and did not get it the first time. Also, I don't think I should be charged $64 in phone call and office visit fees. By the way, his ears still itch.

Dr. Borys was great! We had some concerns about the procedure and he personally called us to discuss them. He was very honest and upfront about the risks of the procedure. In the end, we decided to go ahead and have the surgery done. Dr. Borys took great care of our dog and he experienced no complications!

They have a new facility with plenty of exam rooms. They also have a new emergency clinic. We generally see Dr. Pakush and are very happy with him.
