Description of Work: Work not done as service provider didn't call back. Had to call somebody else for the same work

Description of Work: No one called to set up an appt. No one returned my calls or emails.

Description of Work: This was one of Angie's List Big Deals for the House Doctors to pressure wash our concrete driveway. They kept changing the time that they were to be here, but they did show up. The driveway was pretty stained and they could only remove some of the stains. We had requested that they come out and seal the driveway. We had a ball park figure which was okay. They said they were waiting for dry weather and we never heard from them.

Description of Work: I actually tried one very highly recommended Handyman Service from Angie's List and couldn't get THEM to call me back. So I went looking for another and found this deal. I called them at 6/18/13 at 8:40 am, right after buying the deal and at 6/19/13 at 12:15 pm, leaving messages both times. I then switched to email, emailing 6/20/13 at 1:30 pm and 6/24/13 at 8:15 am. I called Angie's list this morning and they asked to intervene -- I said OK but then called back after I changed my mind. I figured they won't want to help me after being strongarmed into it. So...requested a refund instead.

Description of Work: An appointment was scheduled to come to my home. I was called into work on the day of appointment so I called to ask if they could come one hour later. They could not.. I then called 3 additional times to reschedule over a course of three weeks and never got a call returned. So I hired a different contractor to do the work.

Description of Work: The House Doctors did not come when scheduled and did not call. After I made 3 attempts to call, they returned a phone call and rescheduled - promising to come. They did not come when rescheduled and again did not call. They did show up approximately 2 1/2 hours late after I had given up and left to run errands. When I returned they were in process. I spoke to one person who did not seem at all phased that they had not come or called when scheduled. I told him that he should not perform work at someone's home when they were not there. This bothered me a great deal. A member of their staff had promised to be there on time and to personally supervise to ensure that I received good service. They wasted at least 5 hours of my time waiting and their attitude indicated that they thought this was normal.

Description of Work: deck power wash. Done nicely and in the time frame provided.

Description of Work: I have a2 story house but at no time during any of my discussions with house doctors was I told they don't wash 2 story homes. Fortunately I was home when man came andstarted washing my house. I asked him why he didn't start at the top and work down and he told me he couldn't reach the top. He also said they don't wash 2 story houses for that very reason. I think that should be stated up front by the contractor if not in their ads.

Description of Work: First of all the dusting was not done completely, the floors still had spots on them , they did not mop the kitchen , and they left without telling anyone and it was suppose to be 3hrs, for two and they left in about an hour and 15min.

Description of Work: These ladies are great. They were very careful to do what I needed done, and then they also found the time to do some extras. I would gladly have them back again. Communication was prompt and clear, too.

Description of Work: Despite their great reviews, company took 10 days to return my call about scheduling the work. I had left 3 messages saying we needed the work done within 2 weeks. They weren't able to do it by the time they finally called back. Having to apply for a refund is a hassle. Also, having to supply your own materials is a hassle. It's not likely I'll do this again.

Description of Work: I needed some odd jobs done around the house and decided to call the number listed in the Angie's List magazine. I left a message and got a call back from Bob in less than 5 minutes! He was very polite, answered all of my questions about what types of work they would be able to do and what materials I would need. I was very excited to get the work done by the House Doctors because I moved an older house, and I don't know a whole lot about the upkeep of a (my first) house...learning as I go. Unfortunately, because The House Doctors are so good, and because of my schedule, I'd have to wait until the summer before I could take advantage of their services. Maybe I'll try again, because I'm sure I'll need help in the future. :)

Description of Work: Trued-up and re-locked an outside door to the basement.

Description of Work: This was to mount a large-screeen TV on the wall. We allowed ourselves to be suckered into paying far more than the job was worth, and allowing the whole process to go on and on. Avoid this company!

Description of Work: I rcvd a timely response to my phone message. They came out and installed a new fluidmaster, and water supply line to our toilet. This is the 3rd time we used them. Professional, reliable and fair priced.

Description of Work: Very fast bathroom vent fan upgrade and shower caulking!

Description of Work: Cleanning the Gutters

Description of Work: They replaced four, 6" supports for my deck and all the top railings and removed all the wood lattice and replaced with the new plastic style. They also replaced one of the supports for the gazebo. They pressure washed the entire deck and gazebo area. They applied two coats of stain to the whole deck and gazebo. They also cleaned the gutters for the entire house.

Description of Work: They primed, prepped, caulked and painted all the exterior window frames and wooded areas of the house. The replaced, caulked and painted all 1x boards at the rear deck window.

Description of Work: I saw that the company had Sunday hours so I called because of stroem damage on Friday. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM

Description of Work: Mr Vecchio was supposed to repair a roof job that he did on my garage several years ago that was already coming off. I decided to give him a second try to correct his error. Mr. Vecchio never sent an invoice and claimed that he sent someone out to do the work, even though he never called me to let me know he was sending someone out or sent a written contract/estimate. After getting two more estimates I called Mr. Vecchio to decline his services as the other two contractors that came to look at the roof basically said it was originally a shoddy job and they never would have done it originally as it was done. After calling Mr. Vecchio he stated the work was finished, again even though he never called to confirm a date with me to do the work, and the rolled roof still remains unnattached and blowing in the wind. What I found when I went out and looked was that the only thing done was that a gutter was nailed back. The rolled roofing remained as it was blown off, which was confirmed by the other contractors who took a look at it, despite Mr Vecchio claiming the work was completed and sending me an invoice. I will pay the $20 fee to nail the gutter back, but nothing more and am taking pictures of the roof to prove that nothing was done to it. There appears to be a either a complete lack of communication between him and his sub contractors or he's just a crook. Either way I will never use his services again and caution those who do to get an estimate in writing and insist on knowing when any "work" is to be completed, if you're brave enough to try his services
