Sears Garage Doors

I bought a keypad for my garage. The installation and service were fantastic, but the keypad itself is very cheap. The cover isn't even on a hinge, it's a plastic hull that has to be pushed forcefully up and often flies off the pad and onto the ground. So basically I keep it open all the time, which isn't what I'd like.

The Angie's List deal included keyless entry or rollers. The provider explained the options and the value and let me change from my original request for keyless entry to the roller option. Everything went smoothly and now my garage door opens smoothly :)

Was very disappointed that they couldn't provide the service I was seeking so had no choice but to accept the installation.

Scheduling went fine. I contacted them and because they have all my contact information it would have been good for them to contact me first. The door has been operating more smoothly since they came out. The technician who came out was professional. He was very knowledgeable and thorough.

They arrived on time, completed the work and made appropriate recommendations which I followed.

Scheduling was easy. Quality service was performed. Garage door is quieter and runs more even now. This was a great service deal. We would definitely consider using them again if necessary.

Everything was performed just as expected. The technician pointed out the age of my garage door opener, even though it seemed to be functioning properly. He replaced all the rollers with quiet nylon rollers, checked the springs & cables and lubricated the whole system. He adjusted the chain on the opener as well. I did point out one small issue that required attention and Greg jumped right on it. Completely satisfied.

I purchased two Angie's List Big Deals for this service and they did not turn out exactly as we expected. We have an older home that was built in the 20's, but they were not able to get comparable rollers for the garage door and were only able to replace two of them. We would up having to work around the whole thing. I wish this company would have clarified ages of garage doors or something of that nature. It turned out we needed a new garage door opener. It would have been nice to know what garage doors they can service, versus what they can't ahead of time. Their technician had to come out several times so it was a little inconvenient in that manner, but the work got completed. The good part was that they applied the price of the Big Deals towards the new opener. He also serviced the other garage door opener and gave us a new remote. The scheduling was really accommodating.

Inspection performed Friday 11/1 with the follow-up service provided Friday 11/8. Work was thorough, well worth it: I would use Serviceman again in future (when needed). He lastly provided routine maintenance guidelines to follow twice yearly attention. Advice is understood and well noted. I wouldn't have had this done if the Tune-up weren't advertised on your site. I am finding your membership very valuable! Thank you.

The tech didn't have the right size spring; he opened our garage door so that we could have our cars out for the weekend. We had to wait till Monday for him to get the correct springs. Also, they upped the price because he said the springs would be bigger than what he thought. We had to also have him come back out because the springs had too much tension on them. There was a coupon for Angie's List members, the tech didn't mention it to us, and we had to fight with them about it; eventually we got a refund for the difference.

He was able to call someone for instructions when a problem emerged and did an excellent job.

I signed up for a garage door tune-up. However, when the Sears technician arrived at my house, he told me the only thing he could do was replace the rollers on the door (which I didn't need or want). He said he couldn't do anything else to perform a tune-up because my garage door was too old and, therefore didn't have "safety eyes," which prevented him from working on it. As an alternative, he offered to sell me a new garage door opener (which I didn't need or want), and even went to his truck to get a pamphlet detailing the many options Sears could provide me with. I spoke with at least two of his supervisors, both of whom stated that state law (they later said federal law) prevented them from working on my garage door opener. The technician (without my asking or providing permission) sprayed lubricant on my garage door rollers. He then departed without performing further service. My subsequent review of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's regulations reveals the requirement that garage door openers produced on or after certain dates must contain safety sensors, but no similar provision prohibiting repair of older units that are not equipped with safety sensors. I do not trust the service providers at Sears, who I believe were interested only in deceiving me into purchasing products over and above the $99 big deal I purchased. Accordingly, I do not want to "try again" to get service delivered by the people at Sears. Rather, I request a refund of my $99 so that I can take those funds to another contractor who I can trust to provide the services requested.

Very smoothly! The guys were very efficient and helpful and checked a couple other things free of charge. Very good experience!!

The scheduled time was between 7:30 and 9 AM and he was at my home on time. The technician called ahead of time to let me know that he was on his way. The quality of the work was excellent for everything.

I spent an additional 159 dollars on top of the 99 tuneup which was mostly my doing because I wanted a new keypad and weather stripping. My problem was with the punctuality. I was quoted a time the day before and the tech was hours outside the original window quoted.

Installer called to say when he was coming and was on time. He gave suggestions on maintenance and offered options on placement of the keypad. He was very courteous, answered all of my questions and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need.

They did a good job. We had new nylon liners installed and it is as good as it can be. They were professional and knowledgeable and I would recommend them to others.

I bough a $99 deal for garage door tune up and roller change. The technicians were here on time. They inspected the door and said they would spray lubricant and change the roller. I asked them about one of safety cable as a small stretch looked worn out. He said yes both cables needed to be changed and that would cost an additional $159. I asked him whether the $159 was for the service plus trip cost, because I should not pay an additional trip charge again. He said $159 was for cable change only, not including a trip charge. Not true. A week later I called the company and found the $159 is for is the cost for them to come out and change the safety cable. The technician left in ~20 min and I did not dispute the charge. In retrospect, I think it would cost half of what I paid ($99 deal plus $159) if I call a garage door company to change the roller and safety cable. No more service from this company.

Went very smoothly. The technician was courteous and helpful, explaining everything that he did. Entire job completed in 30 minutes. After he was finished, the door was much quieter than before.

They showed me where it was irrepairable, so I just replaced them both. The techs were straight shooters and did good work. They were timely to our appointment and the price was competitive.

Spoke with John to make the appointment. John was courteous and answered any questions I had. Shawn was the technician that came to the house to perform the service. He was on-time and called shortly before arriving. While he was working he answered any questions I had and seemed very knowledgeable. He ended up selling me an additional garage door remote; however, he did not engage in any high pressure sales tactics. He simply recommended a few things I could purchase. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience and I WILL be using them again for future garage door services. I?d like to thank them for making this a pleasant experience.

Main spring controlling opener of this very heavy door was broken. Repair man replaced it. Since it was almost a year ago, I don't remember the details, but the door has been working ever since.

They guys were great and returned for free when we later had a glitch.

Punctual, professional and reasonably priced service. Would use again as needed.
