Precision Overhead Garage Door

In process of replacing broken springs.

My garage door had come out of the track on one side and the bracket was clearly bent. The door would no longer close, so I googled some companies and went with Precision Door because their service call fee was cheaper than Action Door. I was just looking to get the one wheel and the bracket replaced. The technician then proceeded to try to sell me either (1) a brand new garage door and opener, or (2) a complete "rebuild" of my garage door, both for around $1200. I asked him why the entire door needed to be rebuilt, including having springs replaced, if it was just a wheel and a bracket that had gone bad, and he gave me a very nebulous reponse about how the springs on my garage were so old that....I don't even remember what he said, but I know it made no sense. This technician was clearly trying to sell me more than what I needed, which I consider to be quite unethical. I told him that I would have to think about it, but I think he could tell I was very put off by his dishonesty. He left, but called me back about an hour later saying that he had talked it over with his supervisor, and that they agreed they could get away with just replacing the bracket and the wheel (which were the only problems to begin with!) for about $250, including the service call fee. Because I didn't want to spend any more money on these bogus "service call fees" with other companies, I decided to just let Precison Door replace the parts and be done with it. However, I will not be doing business again with this dishonesty company, that is for sure.

It went very well. Everything we have done with them went really well. They took care of everything. They cleaned up after themselves and took the old, broken motor with them. Everything that was needed with the equipment itself was handled well.

I called and they came out the same day. They were top notch and very neat.

It was excellent. They were here when they said they were going to be here. He was very thorough with explaining what he was going to do and what potentially we needed in order to not only repair it, but we ended up replacing some springs and stuff too. He was very good. The $200 "Big Deal" was the price they gave us off of what we had purchased, the new springs for both doors and a the strip he put on the bottom on the garage doors.

Very professional job done very quickly. Matt & Al consulted on the repair; Al executed the repair. Very happy with the service and work performed.

The installers were very punctual and professional. The quoted prices were exactly what we paid. No additional charges were added. The work was completed in the time frame that they said it would be completed in. We were very, very happy with the completed product.

.It was around April. They were quick to respond, had an easy appointment. I wasn't actually there when they did it, but they did it and its fixed.

I was very impressed by Precision Doors website, the courtesy and information provided by receptionist Jennifer, and by the rapid and satisfactory service provided by installer Bill Adamini. The entire transaction was accomplished within six hours, from Jennifer's call-back response to my phone call over the weekend, to my signing off on the completion of Bill's work. Bill called while he was underway, even ahead of schedule, then promptly arrived, listened to my questions and narrative as I showed him our ancient heavy wooden door, and told me exactly what my options were and what he would do. I felt I could make a well-informed decision, so we agreed on a plan. Bill said he had all the necessary parts stocked in his truck, so he started work right away and showed he knew exactly what to do. I had replaced some of those parts in an amateur way a couple of years ago, and was glad to see his efficiency and professional demeanor. When he finished, I was amazed at how easily I could raise and lower the door, which testifies to Bill's expertise in good measurements and lubrication of parts. He had never seen such an ancient motor and chain-lift system as mine - it was built in the 1930s I suppose - but was not fazed by the technical difficulties posed by such a solid, heavy door and track. I decided to schedule Precision Doors for work on my second door as well.

I felt the job was worth the money. The bay door on which the rollers were replaced operates more smoothly and is quieter. The installer seemed trustworthy and showed pride in his work. He was punctual and represented the company well, suggesting replacement openers should I ever consider switching. Not high pressure.

Precision replaced our three garage doors. From the first call, Precision was very responsive to our inquiries about style to fit with our historic home, energy efficiency, cost, and installation. We dealt with Al Fleming throughout the process, and he was instrumental in making sure the doors fit and operated smoothly without significant changes to the structure of the openings. At all times, Precision got back to us in a timely fashion, worked with us as to scheduling, and were reliable in all aspects of the project. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend Precision to anyone in need of new garage doors.

Anthony called to let me know when he would arrive, and he arrived on time. Anthony explained the work to be performed, and answered all my questions. He completed the job quickly, and also lubed the other door when he finished the repair on the first door. Old parts were removed so that I did not have to put them in the trash for pick-up. I would definitely use this company again.

The service went fine. They did some additional work including a new garage door remote and key pad. The technician was very good. He was also prompt and efficient. Scheduling was very easy and they accommodated what our needs were.

I have a Precision Door and the spring on the door broke so the door would not open. I called to get it fixed and within an hour Bill the service technician was at my house. He was very polite and very informative about what was wrong and what he was going to do. He had the garage door fixed in 1/2 hour. We are very happy with the Precision door we bought and with the service they provide!!

It was fine. I was completely satisfied. They let us know what was wrong and we had to had purchase another part for the door.

They did a great job. They came out within the time that we requested. They came fairly quickly.

It didn’t last and he had to come back and then cost me another $200. I’m not sure if the garage door but he was able to fix it the 2nd time. He said it was going to cost a lot more money and then he was able to fix it for less money so I guess it’s okay and the garage door works fine.

we called this company to reprogram a new code for the garage keypad. We were told that their was no way to put a new code in the keypad so they would have to replace it, even though it was in working condition, we just lost the code. Also, when they looked at our garage they said that the door hinge might fall on the car and so it needed to be immediately replaced, as well as the other 2 doors- estimated cost 2400.00. We had another company come out and were told that the code keypad could easily have been reprogrammed and the ""garage defects" were simply normal wear and tear and only required simple lubrication and cleaning. We live in a 1m plus home and do no like to be taken advantage of- our motto(( do the correct job and charge the correct amount. Buyer beware if you use this company. I just hate companies that try to take advantage of people as this company tried to do with us.

I was not totally satisfied because they did the repair and there was an issue involved with it again. I had to get a new garage door for the cars. I couldn’t get the code on it to work with my older car. I guess it was an issue with the age and they said they would come back to or give me a call early the next week which was a couple of days later; they never called back. It was really funny because when they came out again last month to fix another issue it was the same guy. Again, he said he would get back to me and never did. I have not had any really good experience with any garage door company; I would include them in that too. They were just okay. I called them and they were here within a day.

I CALLED THIS AM, WAS GIVIEN A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITHIN 3 HOURS,RECEIVED APPT. CONFORMATION IMMEDIATETLY VA EMAIL. WAS GIVEN THE NAME & BIO OF THE TECHNITION THAT WOULD BE COMING OUT,ALSO A PICTURE. THE TECH CALLED AS PROMISED, LEAVING HIS PREVIOUS CALL IN BEACHWOOD. UPON ARRIVAL HE ASSESSED THE PROBLEM MADE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE PHOTO EYES AND DID NOT CHARGE ME. HE SAID THE REPAIR WAS SIMPLE AND HE COULD NOT CHARGE ME. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY IN THE PAST MANY TIMES-THEY NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME. IF ALL COMPANIES WERE LIKE THIS ONE WE WOULD NOT NEED A SERVICE LIKE ANGIES LIST (SORRY ANGIE).

Professional and punctual. Replaced all rollers and 3 hinges, the hinges were not part of the original purchase. The cost for the hinges was $240.00 for about a half hour of work. No guarantee that it will not happen again or that the hinges will hold the door. The quality of work so far seems good to excellent, but it was over priced. This was not an emergency call but I was in a bind due to recent surgery. If I had more time, I would have obtained another quote from a different company. I feel ripped off.

There were no troubles with scheduling. His service was very good. He did show us where there were more services needed on the door. We took him for his word and had him do the additional work. It was able to complete the work in an appropriate amount of time and cleaned up well. He was a very nice man.

I had an excellent experience with Precision Garage Door Co. When the service technician arrived he discussed in detail what was the problem with my garage door system and recommended that I need a new one. I agreed and he went over the cost of the garage door system. Even though it was one of the cold and snowy days throughout the winter, he came back with the new garage door system and went to work. I will definitely recommend Prescision to family and friends.

My three year old Sears opener stopped working and Sears was going to charge about a third to half the price of a new mechanism just to look at it. Used Angie's List coupon for Precision's reduced fee service visit after my usual servicer (the wonderful Hudson Overhead Door) could not commit to a date for a service call for more than a week. Kind of figured that I might need to replace the mechanism so I had two units I already bought from Sears and Lowe's sitting in my garage for my regular servicer to choose which one to install when it finally came out. Both had long term motor warranties, one lifetime. The technician, Zoran, came out for Precision and told me that Sears' warranties on motors do not cover problems like I was experiencing and it was not worth the money for him to try to get the part and fix it. Precision charged too much to put in any opener except that which it sold, so I offered Zoran the $40 for service call and tried to say goodbye. He protested, asking how I could pass up on the unit that he had in his truck, due to Precision's guarantee of a lifetime of free service calls and repairs from his boss. I would never pay for another service call again for the opener and related attachments! I asked him to show me the written warranty. He said it was not from the company that made the mechanism but came from the owner, his boss. I would the very next day receive an e-mail from the owner confirming this lifetime coverage. I asked a lot of questions about the owner, like how long was he in business and how could I be certain that he would remain in business. I asked a lot of questions about the warranty, like did it cover everything, like the fuse issue I was then having, and whether it was transferable to a new owner of my house. Zoran was smooth. WHY SHOULD I NOT TRUST PRECISION WITH HIS RATING ON ANGIE'S LIST! He only seemed doubtful about it being transferable. He stressed that I would never pay for another service call again. I called my spouse to ask whether it was worth paying about $200 more than I expected to pay for Hudson Overhead Door's work to get this lifetime all-inclusive warranty. What do you think I did, since this was going to be the third opener that I had since moving into this house? We agreed to give Zoran the go ahead. At one point while he answering questions in the course of his installing the unit, I noticed that he changed his wording as if to speak about the warranty with reference to the "motor," not the entire system. I asked about his wording. He stopped his work, looked up, corrected himself, saying that OF COURSE he had meant what he said that his wonderful boss repaired everything for free that he was doing for me that day and this was for as long as I owned my house. He stressed again and again that the only thing I would ever have to pay for again was for service on the rollers or springs or door. He kindly cautioned how those needed work soon too. I learned it was all a con. After I waited a couple days and never got that lifetime warranty by email, I called to speak to the owner. He disavowed any warranty but what was on paper delivered with motor from the truck. In the less than six months that I have had this supposedly high end equipment, I have discovered that it is a piece of junk. It became noisy after a month, did not stay on track for a week or so about two months after I bought it, and every few weeks it won't close or open without tinkering, like wiping or adjusting the eye. I was at first afraid to call for service to be subject to another con, but when I finally did, I learned they want to charge me for the service call even just to double check their own work. Go to a reputable business instead like Hudson Overhead Doors. If you received similar representations from Zoran or others or have had a similar experience, please get in touch with me. These con artists need to be sued!
