Precision Overhead Garage Door

Terrible. I had been using this company exclusively to service garage doors at my rental properties for the past 6 plus years. They are on the expensive side but I kept using them because they had good customer service and made quick repairs that I had mostly been happy with. However I called them today (Saturday) early afternoon after being alerted by my tenant that the door fell on his car. I made it clear to the company that I was out of town and needed to find someone who could come without me needing to be home (the tenant was available to meet them) and I was available by phone. The person on the phone was able to schedule me for an ER call to have someone come out today between 8pm and 10pm. The technician John called me while I was still on the line with the company rep. When I called him back he said he wanted to fit me in sooner as he was on my side of town. I said great. He said he'd be there in 1-2 hours. Fast forward 2 hours later I miss a call from John and when I call him back he says he can't come out unless I agree to purchase a door from him. I ask him how much a new door is, he says he doesn't know, maybe $1,400. This is with no one seeing or evaluating anything. They were trying to force me to buy something without even coming out to the property. And they couldn't give me a hard figure on a new door either. I'm furious, I just wasted 2 hours. I had them out to the property back in the fall when one of the other garage doors at the same property was accidentally hit by another tenant. At that time the tech was able to get the door on its hinges and suggested that the door, in his opinion, needed to be replaced. I paid the service fee and since then have been working with our city to find out how to go about replacing that door as it is no longer made and there are three other doors on the garage. Replacing just one door would stand out and thus get flagged by the city. Now that a second door seems to be having a problem I was fully prepared to buy at least two new garage doors, possibly 4. But there is absolutely no way I will be giving Precision Door my money. Immediately after being told by John, the tech on the phone, that he was told by his boss that they couldn't come out without us agreeing to buy a new door, I called the main phone number to Precision Door again. When I spoke to the woman over the phone she said there were no notes in the file and so she didn't know what was going on. She said there would be no reason after getting an okay to send the ER service that they would then rescind. I asked her if there was a way to put another technician on the job. She put me on hold and then said no. She said she left a message with a supervision and that they would be calling me. Its been over a half hour and I've still heard nothing. No one in the office can answer why the technician would be told to refuse to come out without us agreeing to pay for a new door and the technician refuses to come out without doing so! I have 5 properties in the same city, with 11 doors, and I will absolutely be taking my money elsewhere!

He is very good, the price is reasonable and they did a great job.

On September 18, 2018, I emailed this contractor, requesting a visit and estimate. On September 20, 2018, I received an reply stating that they would be happy to do an estimate. On the same day, I replied "please call me to set up a time and day". No call came. On September 26th, I followed up again. Again, no reply. My view is if a contractor ignores you during the phase of the relationship where they are trying to "sell" you, this is a bad sign about work quality, follow up, and responsiveness, once they have been paid. So, I will not deal with this business.

Never received a quote. Rep came to give an estimate. Was to return with samples. Called a few days later saying he would drop them off that evening. Never showed up. Never called back. Never got a quote. Didn't pursue. Didn't think it was prudent to hire a company that didn't even follow up on a potential sale. Even one that was a relatively high-end sale.

I contacted Precision Overhead Garage Door after striking out with a competitor. My garage door was installed by an amateur, so it was recommended that the spring assembly, cable drums, and rollers be replaced. I was able to make an appointment very quickly for a weekend, which was nice. The work was done quickly and professionally, and the technician ("Z") answered all of my questions and then some. I actually learned a lot from him! The experience was wonderful overall. The price was a bit high, but I was okay with it as you get what you pay for.

Arrived promptly, was very professional - & found & fixed the problem quickly. Had him inspect the door, & was even happier that I called them, as the door turned out to be so worn out (& old) it couldn't be repaired. Ordered new door, got immediate pricing on it.

Efficient, professional, the insulated door is beautiful!

I was given the name of the technician and his background experience before he even arrived to do the estimate. He took photos, and explain how and why the opener failed. I also asked why my garage doors WERE NOT SEALING AT THE TOP AFTER THEY CLOSED. He explained, that the previous owner install doors that were too high for the opening. He also pointed out missing bearings and possible future failure of the garage door springs. I decided to just get (2) new garage doors and openers. The installation went extremely well; though I was told it may take 6 hours, the technician arrived promptly at 9 AM and was finished with assistance from a second technician who arrived a few hours into the installation, and they completed by 1 PM. Both technicians were professional, friendly and efficient. All this in the midst of my watching, taking photos and sometimes asking questions. I am extremely satisfied with the work and finished products.

John was my technician and he was very nice, personable and very helpful. If I need service I will contact this company.

Very well. I have used Precision Overhead Garage Door several times in the past as this is the reason why: everything was explained to me in detail, I was able to SEE what the repair man was taking about and not just take his word for it, and we worked together deciding what needed to repaired NOW and what could wait. He was thorough, quick and cleaned everything up beautifully when he was done.

I was pleased with all aspects of their work and service professional, Anthony. I was a little surprised at the cost of the repair, however. I was not expecting it to be so close to the cost of a new door installation.

Came promptly and replaced.the broken spring quickly.

Bill came to my rescue and did a great job explaining everything that was going on with my door. He did a full tune up and also offered a lifetime guarantee with his work. I had both springs replaced and he fine tuned the rollers and fixed a few other things. He was great at making me feel comfortable and explaining everything.

Excellent. Problem was promptly repaired (same day as reported - Saturday) and a recommended upgrade was explained. Accepted the upgrade (replace worn parts which would cause additional problems in the near future). Tech did not recommend door replacement as the door was solid and in good condition. I would have given a AA for responsiveness if the option was available. Thanks Paul Broschk.

I found Precision Door Service via Angie's List. With such high ratings, I called and was able to get appointment for the next day. They emailed me a confirmation along with the name of the service professional handling my job. The morning of the service, I received a call by the service professional Bill. I explained my issue. He was ahead of schedule and stopped earlier. He fixed the problem promptly. We had another company troubleshoot this problem and that company was trying to sell me an entire new garage door unit. Precision Door Service was honest and the issue was not what I was told by another company. I would definitely recommend them due to their professionalism and quality of work. I will call them for future work. I used an Angie's List coupon for the service call.

Excellent. The company sent me an email with the name of the technician and a link so I could see his picture and read his bio. The technician was thorough, professional, efficient, and complete. He pointed out the raveling of the cable and the roller wear. He replaced both. Door works great.

I called Precision at 3:45 PM Saturday and within 30 minutes the technician, Zoran, arrived, (having called me to give an ETA), in spite of the horrid driving conditions. Within 10 minutes he had diagnosed and fixed the problem. The garage door now works perfectly. He even found a part that had been knocked off my car. I really like and respect Precision. They have helped me out numerous times. They always arrive timely, always work efficiently, and the charges are reasonable.

Bad snow day, but showed up as scheduled. Examined the problem, gave me options, and then fixed and reviewed his work with me. Very happy with work and though price was very fair. Will definitely use them again and feel comfortable recommending them to others. Strong work.

I’m very happy with my experience with Precision. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy and Zoran, the technician arrived on time. I ended up needing a new opener which I had suspected. Zoran was very helpful in explaining my options and was able to have it installed that day. He was also very thorough in explaining features and usage after installing. Pricing seemed fair. I’d reccommend them to a friend.

They did a great job, very professional, still works well after a year.
