Joe's Lock & Key

Joe returned my call promptly. Service went very well. Joe arrived at my home on time. He communicated effectively, what he was going to do and how he will do it. He offered options and is reasonably priced. I have used Joe's services in the past at a relative's home and would recommend him to others.

My wife and I called Joe to get help with the lock on our front door. We're trying to sell our house and the door handle recently ripped out when a realtor pulled on it (great first impression!). Because we didn't want to scare away any more potential buyers, we called Joe to ask him to drive out and fix the lock. But before he even allowed us to schedule an appointment, he insisted on coaching me through the fix. When we talked, I was dead tired from cleaning and readying the house - barely able to function mentally - but Joe remained extremely patient and kind. Fortunately, but only after 20 minutes of direction, I was able to fix the door handles (and the locks- although my wife isn't convinced) and since then, the door has worked beautifully. My wife and I could not think more highly of Joe. He seems like a stand up guy. The next time we have a lock/door type problem, we will call Joe first- you should too.

Joe was excellent. He answered my inquiry promptly. I sent him a picture of the lock and latch so that he could assess it beforehand, buy the necessary materials and minimize cost. Unfortunately, because of the age and quality of the original lock it had to be entirely replaced. This was not anticipated and the only place that had the needed lock and latch mechanism was in Berea. Joe did not charge me for the extra trip. He kept me informed about his progress and when he would return. The lock was installed properly and we have not had any problems since. I would use him again.

He contacted me within a day of my initial contact and called when he was on his way. He had to rebore the door to install the doorknob but let me know in advance there would be an additional charge for that. He was professional and took the time to insure the locks were working and I was satisfied with the work.

We are very pleased with Joe. He was professional,kind and did an amazing job. I would recommend him to everyone and we will be using him again.

The whole process went very smoothly. Joe was responsive to emails and we were able to set up a weekend time to perform the work (on both occasions). There was a surcharge for the distance he had to travel to my house. While I would generally have no issue replacing a deadbolt, Joe did a great job making sure they worked perfectly. I would not have been able to do such an expert job in as short a time as he did. Joe is friendly and even answered my questions before and after the job was complete. I would unreservedly recommend him.

Joe called to discuss the equipment we would be installing. He confirmed the appointment time, and called before arriving. He was very professional and the installation went very smoothly. Once done, he cleaned the area before confirming we understood how everything worked. We would use him again.

Joe was amazing from the initial contact to the completion of the job. Due to our situation with our rental, we had to wait several weeks to use his service. He was very patient and understanding. The day we finally scheduled the appointment, we at first were unable to gain access to the property in order to change the locks and told him that we would not need his services. Within minutes of him leaving we were able to gain access to the property. We called him back to ask if he could return to change the locks. Without hesitation he said that he would come back. Throughout the entire process he was professional, helpful, and personable.

Absolutely wonderful! Called me and told me exactly when he would be there. Did the job very professionally and tried decoding first to save me money!!! Would absolutely use again and will tell everyone I know!

Joe was very responsive to my initial call, providing pricing information and indicating he would need to call back with an appointment time after checking his schedule. He called back promptly and set the appointment for the next day. He called approximately one hour before the appointment to confirm, indicating he might be up to 15 minutes late if the prior appointment went long. He was, however, right on time. He completed the work as requested and offered additional information relative to locks, doors and security. He automatically applied the Angie's List Discount when I made the appointment - I did not have to remind him. The whole process from my initial call to Joe providing the new keys took about 25 hours.

Joe indicated because of the age of the lock assembly no identical replacement assembly exists as one unit with face plates, latch, and bolt. Joe told us he would have to bring separate latch and bolt components on the phone before he came and apprized us of the cost and that we would have to paint touch up where the face plates would be removed. He was polite, courteous, and did an excellent job of removing the old hardware and installing the new hardware. In addition he offered to make the new patio door keys work the same the keys to the front door which we accepted. .

17635 Joe is FABULOUS! He responded in less than 24 hours to my request and provided service on the day I requested. It was the best of all possible worlds. Joe looked at the locks that had to be changed, made some suggestions, and went to work without interruption. He was fast, professional, charming, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Joe deserves all the rave reviews he gets because he such an expert at what he does. I also appreciate his fondness for spiders.

My sister and brother in law purchased a home in which they had difficulty getting the previous owners to leave, hence the need to change the locks. Once we got the keys from the realtor, there was little time to schedule the locksmith in advance. We called Joe and he came right out. He was able to work around many, many people trying to help my sister and her husband unload a truck and trailer and move their things into their new home. He was polite and informative. He did a great job rekeying all the locks and providing keys to us. The home was built in the 70's and had some tricky locks on the patio doors which would have been difficult for us to change. By Joe being able to rekey them, he saved us a lot of money and even more hassles! While he was working on the locks, we were able to continue to concentrate on getting the trucks unloaded and tend to other tasks. It was a great value and I'm sure saved us a lot of money by rekeying as opposed to changing all the locks! Thanks Joe!

Joe was professional, prompt and friendly. He did great, quality work on a house door lock and was on time. You know how rare it is for a contractor to be timely. Joe is also a very nice guy. Absolutely call him.

When I called Joe, I left a message and he returned my call within the hour. He quoted me a price over the phone and I made the appointment for his services. He called to let me know that he was on the way and he arrived right on time. Joe worked quickly to finish the job, plus he re-aligned one of the deadbolts and showed me how to secure our sliding patio door. He is knowledgeable and professional--he cleaned everything up--and he was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely hire him again.

Ended up working out where he was available same day, very courteous and patient. Cleaned up after himself.

I wish I could give Joe all "A+'s", as an A just doesn't seem good enough. I was impressed with his punctuality, from returning phone calls to arriving at the appointment time. (He calls about 1/2 hour before to let you know he is on the way.) Joe is very professional regarding his work and his business, but is also very friendly and always greets us with a smile. And lastly, his work is perfect. (And he always cleans up the work space!) He always gives you the cost, not just an estimate, and he always reviews the agreed upon work before he begins. Joe was very patient and professional. He took the entire lock apart and was able to repair the old style turn lock and made a key for it. Other locksmiths did not want to even try to repair such an old style lock; they said to just replace it with a new style lock.

Joe was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He had some good ideas for helping managing a number of locks and entranceways. He was did a great job of communicating with me, confirming our appointment, and re-confirming he was on his way. So many times, contractors just show late (or not at all) and don't think twice about it. It was nice to deal with someone who took punctuality seriously. Overall a great experience.
