They had to get the part for the inside from Edelmans plumbing because I have a toto fancy toilet he worked and worked and could not get it right. He then went again to Edelman and it turns out they gave him a defective part! They came back the next day to tighten up the handle to my liking. That was no charge. I thought that they did good work and it seemed to be fairly priced. I would use them again

Description of Work: My bathroom sink was clogged up and everything I tried would not work. This has happened before and I was always able to unclog it, even if the drainage was not ideal. also had a problem with the kitchen sink - a double bowl sink - one side partially drained into the other side when it drained. All in all, I had had enough. Turns out the bathroom sink was a real problem - had to go through the wall (no access) and fix it. And the kitchen - turns out that the sink was improperly installed when a contractor did some kitchen work for me (including a new sink). The plumber corrected the issues. He was there most of the day on Wednesday and then again on Friday. I was leaving town the following week and was very glad to get it completed before I left town. Plus I called on Monday and they were there on Wednesday - very prompt.

Description of Work: They come out once or twice a year to check the boilers. He is one of the best plumbers I have used. They are clean, courteous and do great work. The pricing is a little high.

Description of Work: They removed an outdoor faucet (sillcock) that had become impossible to turn on and replaced it with a new one. The plumber was polite and professional, and answered all my questions. The new faucet works fine. I examined the part before it was installed, and to me it didn't seem like top quality, but then what do I know? I expect that the faucet will be working longer than I will.

Description of Work: Replaced toilet and vanity. Friday after Larry left I went to place items into plastic shoe box below vanity. A short time later I found 2 inches of water in the plastic shoe box. I called and reported the issue and was told by another male to turn off the shut off vales and they would not be out over the W/E but would be out Monday. Monday Larry called me before coming, and asked what occurred. He then said it was the intake lines, and he should have used new ones. He then asked me where a hardware store was so he could pick ones up before coming. (Didn't have needed equipment with him??) He exchanged the lines then charged me not only for the equipment but also for a service call AGAIN. When I objected to the sum for a service call since it was a call back, he said his boss said to charge it. I would have expected he would have checked for leaks BEFORE leaving, but as someone said on the phone when I called back "Mistakes can happen" so the extra service charge should not have occured. WILL NOT UTILIZE OR RECOMMEND HERB'S PLUMBING.

Description of Work: I called Herb's Plumbing because I had a kitchen faucet with a problem. I wanted a local, family owned business and had an excellent experience with Jeff. He came the same day I called, tried different ways of fixing the faucet which needed to be replaced, and he advised me how to get a new one quickly. I was expecting house guests and hosting a party for 60 people the following weekend so needed help fast. I purchased a new faucet that night, expecting Jeff would be back over the next few days as he had a big job coming up. To my surprise I got a knock on the door the next day from Jeff, who happened to be in my neighborhood and had a few minutes spare. He installed the new faucet promptly and for a very reasonable charge. We also complained about our lack of water pressure and he took a look around the basement and made some suggestions for the future. I will most certainly call him back.

Description of Work: Our sewer drain had backed up and the basement was a mess. Two men unclogged drain and cleaned basement so that it was dry and clean.

Description of Work: Herb came out to the job on time to look at the job and to give a quote on 3/11/09. I received a call on 3/13/09 from Tim informing me that Herb was busy and would have the quote by 3/16/09. I called on the afternoon of 3/16/09 and talked with Tim. He stated the quote was not ready and he'll have Herb call me when it is ready for my review. It is now 3/24/09 without any call back. If they are too busy for my business or choose not to quote this job, a simple phone call would be nice so I can move on with this project.
