Mr. Electric of Columbus

We had an estimate within hours of initial contact.Out electrician was very friendly and cheerful. He did a nice job. The office contacted me the morning of the scheduled service to verify appointment. All that went well. I realize that our electrician had another job before our job and that the time scheduled was an approximate time but he was 3 hours 45 minutes late. I had to call the office twice to find out if he was ok and still coming. The first time I left a message and no one returned my call, the second time I was able to talk to someone and the issue was resolved. A simple call to let me know he was ok and sitll coming with a new estimated time of arrival would have made the entire experience excellent.

Purchased $159.00 Big deal for Mr Electric of Columbus & Cincinnati to do whole house surge protection and inspection. I Had them install new outlets with gfci and rewire some electrical circuits to a couple areas. Did a good job and price was fair.

First of all, they will come out in the evening. That is huge for me. The technician got there, did some test on a circuit that kept tripping, found the problem, solved it, and gave me a warranty on the work for a year. He charged me $130 bucks and I was happy. It was as simple as that, and I couldn't be more pleased.

They were not as responsive as we would have hoped.

It went fine, no problems. He did the job and the extra I had to have. Everything was fine.

They called the next day after purchasing the Big Deal to schedule an appointment. Had the appointment set for that weekend. Service person was on time, polite and efficient.

The customer and the company should insist that the work be completed by only one electrician. Four different electricians were assigned to work on my lights. By the time the fourth one arrived communication had become frustrating. He was not able to complete the work until the next day due to his family's schedule which was fine, but he told his supervisor that I requested the delay in work. He continued to find unsafe electrical problems that I had not requested, but offered to fix them on the side for high prices. The process to pay took 45 minutes and was confusing because each electrician had to be reached for their individual totals. This structure added time, confusion, and frustration on to what was good work at average to high prices.

The electrician installed the whole-house surge protector and provided the warranty information as well as an overview of how it would work. The whole house electrical system inspection seemed to me to be rather cursory. The electrician asked me a number of questions to get my assessment of how I thought the electrical system was working. He also did a visual inspection of the wiring in the basement. That was pretty much it for the whole house electrical system inspection. I had him install an additional circuit breaker and re-wire the security system connection. Intially it would have been $189 but he was able reduce the price to $138. I wasn't sure about how good a deal that was and he had to go get a circuit breaker from Home Depot to install which seemed a bit odd to me. He was back promptly and completed his work. I'm not quite sure how the pricing for installing the circuit breaker worked out. My suspicion is that I probably got charged for a second service call on top of the promotional deal which had him already at my house. My overall perspective is that I think the whole house surge protector was a pretty good deal. I don't think the whole-house assessment of the electrical system amounted to much. I am glad I could get the incorrectly wired security system fixed immediately. I would probably shop around if I had to have some additional electrical work and contact a couple other electrical service companies rather than automatically going with Mr.Electric of Columbus & Cincinnati.

In my housing development I get a lot of power surges so when I saw the whole house surge protection deal for $159.00, I jumped at the offer and ordered it. I then called Mr Electric to schedule the installation and the person asked if I would like to have it installed that day! Wow, talk about responsive service! The electrician arrived and installed the surge protector into my electrical box and then as part of their service, he checked all of my GFCI Outlets and my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The only slight negative is that after some research I found that the whole house surge protector retails for about $50.00 so labor was $100.00. There are differently priced surge protectors so I didn't know which one they would supply. Being a DIYer, I could have done it myself and saved $100.00.

They came out quickly, and did a good job. Very thorough, and explained what they did. Gave me some good advice on using my electrical panel.

Had trouble with the scheduling. It was scheduled for one day in a two or three hour window. They called at the end of the time period to say they could not make it that day. My husband had to take off work early to be there, so he had to take off work early another day for the appointment. Once they did arrive, they were professional and seemed to do a good job. They thoroughly inspected everything and installed the surge protector in a professional manner.

Went well just as promised. (Got an estimate on several other electrical issues seemed really high.)

The service was great--he did a good job. He knew what he was doing throughout the entire service. He did a good job installing my new ceiling lights. He showed me my electrical box and how to turn things on and off. He was very helpful and told me what I needed to update in my home. He also gave me an estimate on how much that would cost me. He was prompt to the appointment and his price was reasonable.

The technician came out on time and was very professional. He looked at my panel and found out that it was full and the surge protector could not fit. Even though they did not do the work, this was a positive experience with this company.

Perfect, Quick & Professional

From the initial phone conversation everything was handled in a professional manner. The electrician was prompt and professional. I would recommend this company.

I had a new AC unit installed when my old one from 1984 finally gave up. The AC people did a great job but they couldnt run electric because of the way the old one was wired. The cutoff switch was out of code behind a deck stairwell and the whip to the AC unit was to short. This all happened at 4:30pm. I brought up Angie's list and after a few calls found that Mr. Electric would try to cme out between 7-9pm that night! Didn't ask for an extra after hours or emergency fee or anything just there normal diag which if they could do the work would turn move over into price. Both the technicians arrived at 6:45pm and where extremly polite and professional. They had there own door mat to wipe there feet on! THey also wore covers over there shoes. This was improtant because guess what we just had a major storm come through! They came in made assesment and gave me worse case and best case options on price. They did the work fast and the wiring looks great! I will not call anyone else for my electrical needs in the future but Mr. Electric.

The appointment was easy to make, they explained they would need a copy of the coupon when they arrived, which was nice because we are not all that familiar with using these coupons and it allowed us to get organized before the electrician arrived. We had completely forgotten that we had made an 8:00 appointment for Saturday and both my husband and I were still alseep when he came to the door. He was gracious and friendly. He had a mat outside our door that he cleaned his shoes on and then put 'booties' over his shoes. Since we were barely awake when he arrived, we hadn't had time to put our two dogs in another room and shut the door. The electrician was very friendly toward our dogs and pet them (which made them so very happy). We put the dogs in another room so they wouldn't bother him and he went right to work. He had to leave to get another circuit breaker because he didn't have the type on our board in his truck, there was no charge for this trip to Home Depot. When he returned he again cleaned his shoes outside and put 'booties' on. He asked for a vacuum to clean up the drywall dust he created when he cut the whole for the whole house surge protector and he then cleaned up the mess. He then explained what the surge protector would do, the warranty and what the warranty applied to. He was friendly, courteous and I think secretly amused that he had got us out of bed. Would recommend this company highly and would use them again if the need arose.

The technician (Curtis) was on time, courteous, professional, answered all my questions, gave an estimate of the cost, and did the work in good order. I was very satisfied and would certainly call Mr. Electric again.

Save for the dramatic price increase for the 2nd surge unit the service went very well. It would be better if vendor, while offering a discount on the first surge unit could also offer a discount on any additional units.

They installed 1 wall recepticle about 3 feet below a light switch on the backside of the same wall in a walk in closet. They got the power from the switch and used about 3 feet of wire and it took about 20 minutes. They were prompt, clean and professional. But I felt the price was high. I had a $30.00 off coupon and their price was still over $300.00. But, I did not get other estimates before having the work done. So maybe they were in line. The job is done, my wife is happy, life goes on.

Adam arrived on time, was professional, and completed the work quickly. We have a mid-century house with old outlets. In two of the bedrooms the switches were not turning on the outlets that controlled the main lights. He diagnosed the problem, offered estimates for all possible scenarios, and fixed all of the outlets/switches in question. He also looked at some track lighting that wasn’t working and was honest with us about the limited options in affordably fixing something so old. His demeanor was professional and friendly, and our German Shepherd loved him (he’s a great judge of character). We used the $30 off coupon posted on the website and that made the price a little more affordable. I would use this company again.

Very disappointing to not get what was advertised as part of the service

Although there was some initial confusion with setting up the appointment, once everything was set into motion everything went smoothly and as expected. Professional, honest and courteous.
