First scheduled day never showed....and I took off work for a 12-2 time slot....got a call at 1:22 saying I was next....had to call them at 4:34 asking......really? Oh, but I was next still....whatever, rescheduled for the next day, which was today. Look, I'm not saying that everyone in the world needs to be a great orator, but if you have people coming into homes to do work you may want to train them to look people in the eyes and be able to explain what they are thinking....we decided to skip the work once we met your employees....Angie's list gave you an "A"? Hmmm....wondering if I wasted money for this website......

Mr. Electric's Cincinnati office sent out Kenny H. who explained to me that the job would cost more if there were not already an electric "box" (I think) from a previous fan in the ceiling. The coupon took off $75 from the whole job. Although I had recessed lights in the ceiling, there was not an electric source there that could be used for the ceiling fan. This meant that Kenny had to bring up a wire from a light switch and bring it up the wall and across the ceiling to the center where I wanted the fan. Kenny was working alone, so he made 6 cuts in my wall and ceiling in order to bring over the electric wire. Each cut was about 3x5 inches. I thought this was excessive, but he did tell me about it in advance and did also tell me that he would not be sealing up the holes with drywall. I agreed to this in advance, figuring this was normal that an electrician would not be a drywall professional. The fan works fine and seems stable. I had Kenny put in an electric switch, and he gave me (free of charge) a remote which would have cost over $20. When I did later hire someone to do drywall, it cost me an additional $400. After I complained to the Mr. Electric office because there were so many holes, they helped me out by sending me a check for $200 to help cover the cost of the drywall. I appreciate this. While he was there, I also had Kenny H put in a new switch for basement lights. This cost $195, including materials.
Description of Work: I used an Angie's List coupon to get a ceiling fan put in. There were many complications.

Anthony and his helper performed all work as agreed and I am happy and satisfied with the purchase and performance. He also pointed out the upstairs needed to be rewired and the price was over $10,000, wow. I could not afford to have that done at this time and will watch for other big deals to hopefully have this done at a much better price when I can afford it. I ended up spending a lot of money but for safety it had to be done and they did a great job, just wasn't anticipating that much money at this time. Overall, very satisfied. The big deal itself was really good!
Description of Work: I purchased big deal whole house surge protector for $150 and provider installed that and did complete home electrical inspection. He recommended four outlets removed and GFCI installed for $260, sleeve romex on basement walls $450, and tested all outlets in home for $75 and I agreed to have this work performed.

He was very professional and cleaned up after the fan was installed. The switch was on the "winter setting", but I figured that out when the fan did not blow air directionally down and got a ladder and adjusted the switch when I realized what was wrong. I'd use him again.

I called this company in the morning, and a service person arrived the same afternoon. J. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous and completed all of the work in about two and a half hours.

I called Mr. Electric to get an estimate of the cost to replace four small existing items. A circuit breaker in the breaker box, a GFI outlet directly next to the breaker box, an outlet and a light switch in the kitchen. The outlets and light switch were easy jobs I could have done myself, but I am not about to open an electrical panel for any reason. The woman in the office said that she does not have a price list and no one is there that can give me an estimate. I asked if someone that can estimate a cost could call me and she agreed. A while later Mike who said he was a manager called and told him the four items that need to be replaced and he gave me a price that I thought was fair. He was in the field and asked that I call the office to schedule. I called the office and scheduled to have a tech come to the house between 3:00 and 5:00 PM that day. At 5:15 I called to make sure he was still coming and was assured that he was as soon as he finished the job he was currently on. I called again at 6:30 and was told that they are short handed and everyone is running late. I called again around 7:45 and was told that they would have to reschedule for the next afternoon. Since I already lost a half day waiting for them I did not want a mid-day appointment because that would mess up my entire day. I asked to speak to a manager. She said she will have a manager call me back. A few minutes later I got a call from Dave, who said that he was a manager. Dave said that they will have a tech come to the house for the first call of the day tomorrow. He said that they will call at 7:30AM and would be there between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. I called the office at 8:15 AM because I had not received he 7:30 AM call that they said I would get. The receptionist said that the tech is still working on the job from last night and he will come as soon as he is done. I said that I needed to know when he will be there because I did not want to wait around and waste another day. I asked her to please call him and ask what time he expected to come. She called back a short while later and said that another tech is going to come in on his day off and will be there in 45 minutes. Around 45 minutes later Jeremiah showed up. He was very professional in his introduction and took care not to track the rain into the house. I showed him what I wanted done. He tried to sell me a whole house surge protector, which would be a good idea but I don?t have the extra money to buy one right now. Jeremiah then proceeded to replace the defective items. He was neat, thorough and professional. If I could recommend him for a service award I would, but because of the lack of communication and professionalism that I received from the Mr. Electric office I can?t. The people in the office were very polite and courteous, but they didn't keep the promises made in their advertising to be ?on time? and if they will be late ?they will call ahead of time?. They were neither on time nor did they call to advise me of the several delays. Only because of the service I received from Jeremiah would I consider Mr. Electric when I need an electrician again.
Description of Work: Replaced four existing items. A circuit breaker in the breaker box, a GFI outlet directly next to the breaker box, an outlet and a light switch in the kitchen. The price I listed was before the Angie's list $30.00 coupon which helped to influence my decision to use this company.

It was a very difficult set of circumstances, handled extremely well and with professionalism. I was given full explanations of all the work and equipment that would be needed before any of the work was begun. The initial work, rebuilding the mast to code, took two men only a few hours. It was in place and ready for the electric company to finish their work on the poles so that we were restored quickly. The service upgrade was expensive, but the manager was able to consolidate that with the previous cost of the mast, reducing the price a bit and making the choice usable. The technician who did the service upgrade did an initial site survey, and pointed out that even though the new mast and associated equipment was to code, the way the electric company had positioned the feed made it vulnerable. Without cost, he added reinforcement to the installation, making it more solid and making it better structured to work with the new service. The work on the service upgrade was extensive, but at no time did the tech show any indication of taking short cuts or attempts to otherwise do anything other than a good job. I would highly recommend this company. I know there are some less expensive, but I am also aware of some more expensive. I don't feel I spent any more than the job, and it's quality, deserved.
Description of Work: Multiple items. After lightning literally blew up a large section of tree, that tree section broke down power lines stretching through multiple power poles. In the process, the wires to our home were yanked and the electrical mast ripped from the house. Our initial call was to get a new mast (and associated equipment) installed. Later we also had them do a service upgrade and several changes to get out-of-code areas corrected.

He was running late and never called to let me know, but when he did come he was professional and installed all 3 ceiling fans. It took a few hours but he was able to assemble them from the boxes that I had previously gotten delivered. My only comment would be I wish he had explained how the blades can be balanced so they run quieter. Other than that I would recommend them and also use them again.

The work itself went fine; the installer came out the same day I called, completed all the work, and tested it out with me. After it was done and paid for, I requested an itemized breakdown of what I'd been charged in terms of parts and labor (the original invoice gave just one lump sum). This took several months to obtain, despite many promises of mailing it to me, dropping it off, or delivering it personally. I got very few callbacks, even when I was promised that a manager would contact me the next day, or even in 10 minutes. The itemized list revealed that I'd been charged for 50 feet of 30-A line, when clearly less than 25 feet had been installed. A manager finally did come out to the house and verified that 50 feet had not been installed, and agreed to refund me half of the charge for that line. It took several more months of promises and no-callback runarounds, culminating in one very angry call to the home office, to finally get my refund check. So: if you get work done by Mr. Electric, I recommend getting an itemized list of charges up front. If anything goes wrong on the job, I don't have much hope to offer you, but I do wish you better luck than I had. In the end, though, I think you'd be much, much better off with another service provider.

Called to request an estimate and they were able to send someone out 2 days later. The technician arrived within the scheduled time frame to assess the wiring and light boxes to determine how much work would be needed to install the ceiling fans. After a quick assessment he said he would be able to install with the current wiring and light box set up and offered to install it right away. I was able to purchase their Angie's list coupon as he worked. He had both ceiling fans assembled and installed in about 2 hours, and cleaned up the area afterwards. Overall a quick and inexpensive job. I had tried dealing with other service providers on Angie's list offering slightly better deals, but after constant back and forth communication over the span of 3 weeks they finally told me they wouldn't be able to perform the work for another month! These guys cost only a little bit more, but their speed and quality of work was more than worth it!

mentioned the additional items when the serviceman arrived and was told a price that I thought was quite high, especially since he was already out. The basement surge protector was expected to need to be replaced. The troubleshooting was very minimal, the surge protector was not replaced and the price was not reduced. Big deal was for $159 for an elecrical inspection. We had them change 2 outlets to surge protector outlets and they charged $420 for this! Work took about 30 minutes.

I called Mr. Electric to obtain a proposal to install a ceiing fan (I purchased) and two electrical outlets to a newly enclosed patio. The estimator arrived and we discussed the best way to get electricity to the room. He seemed to know what he was talking about and told me what they would be doing. He said they could do the work later that day. I agreed to his proposal. Later in the afternoon (this was on a Thursday) he came back with another employee. He told the employee what was to be done, then left him to do the work. Later in the day a second employee came to help him but was called away to go to another job leaving only the one worker. The worker had to make several trips to a home improvement store to get the equipment needed. It appeared to me the worker was not very organized. He should have measured and decided what supplies were needed and only make one trip. Still later in the day a new worker showed up to help the first. At about 7:00 pm the new worker said he needed to go to a home improvement store to yet get more supplies. He said it was too late so they would have to come back. I scheduled it for the next Monday because I was unavailable for the next three days. On Monday another worker showed up to complete the job (this is the fourth worker to show up). His name was Dion and seemed more knowledgable than the other three. He did a great job at finishing the work. He only needed several hours to complete the job Although the work was done to my safisfaction I felt this should have been a one day job. They appeared to have no supplies on their truck and had to make too many trips for supplies. One trip should have been made to buy all supplies needed. Four different workers came to perform the work. My expectations are that the same worker should start and finish my job and workers should not be sent on other jobs in the middle of mine.

We had an emergency situation in the evening when the line from AEP ended up touching with the line running to our panel. This blew the box that houses the electrical meter, and created a potentially dangerous situation. I called Mr. Electric and spoke with an individual who scheduled my appointment. They were very nice and were able to get me in the next day. The electrician, whose name escapes me at the moment, which is sad because he was awesome. Very good introduction at the front door, as he laid a mat down to scrub his shoes, and also wore booties over his shoes so not to track dirt into my home. Even though I said he did not need to wear them, he did anyway, which was very kind. He assessed the situation and new exactly how to fix the issue (old wires without any insulation, and install my new light). He quoted me first, before doing anything else, or trying to get me to add to the repairs. The quote was perfect and he proceeded. He fixed the issue in no time and installed my new light better than I ever could. Having light back in my kitchen was something I never thought I would be that happy about, but it was perfect. After the repairs he cleaned up everything, swept my kitchen floor, and probably would have mopped if I let him. He offered a full home inspection for free (comes with the repair I had done). Unfortunately I did not have time for this, but would have loved it. I did have him take a look at another issue, which he also assessed, and they will be back to repair at a date of my choice. Overall, i was very impressed and happy with everything. I will certainly call Mr. Electric for all my needs in the future, as well as tell my friends. Hopefully all electricians are as good as the one I had.

I sent in an email request and received a call a few days later to schedule. I explained that I was under a time crunch and they were able to accommodate my service request immediately, which was a welcome change from other encounters. The electricians were in my home for 10 hours and didn't leave until everything was fixed. In the end, Mr. Electric definitely isn't the cheapest. But if you want reliable and timely service, they are a great company to call.
Description of Work: I had Mr. Electric replace an outdoor light fixture, 17 light switches in my home, and do some wiring for a pool heater.
