J & J APPLIANCE

I called several companies in an effort to have my washing maching repaired. I have a new born at home and we seems to have at least 1 load of laundry daily, so time was of the essence. J&J was the only company to respond quickly, professionally, and courteously to my need. Within hours they were dispatched to my house, took the washing machine apart, showed and explained to me what the issue was, and had it repaired. The fees were more than fair. Obviously I hope we don't have any more appliance breakdowns, but if we do we're calling J&J!

It was well done, timely, and effective.

Last night I discovered my dishwasher was broken - I wasn't getting any lights on the control panel. I had used J&J previously, so I called them for a service call. Jimmy was extremely helpful and suggested that if I was mechanical, I could troubleshoot the most likely problem - a blown fuse. With his help via phone, I determined that the fuse was indeed bad. After a quick trip to his store for a $25 fuse, I took 15 minutes to repair and re-assemble. It works perfectly! I called Jimmy and he offered congratulations. I have nothing but glowing praise for J&J's honesty, integrity and customer service! I will be sure to recommend them to all of my friends, neighbors and relatives.

My clothes dryer would not turn on on Sunday, so I called J & J Appliances when they opened on Monday at 9:00 AM. I was impressed that I a live person answered the phone and I didn't have to leave any messages to get a call back. The representative was very polite and he arranged for the technician to come out that day. They called me back when the technician was on was their way to my house. The job was efficient, fast and the estimate was fair. I will use J & J for any future appliance repairs.

I called on Tuesday, and they were able to come Wednesday afternoon. They called ahead of time to tell me that they would come in the afternoon. They called again just before coming. They replaced the springs and another piece and tested the machine to make sure it worked. I've used the company twice before. They're very easy to work with.

It was a pretty straightforward repair, handled expediently and professional by J&J Appliance. I called on a Wednesday; Jimmy said that he could get Buck over to my house the next day, late morning or early afternoon. He phoned the next morning to give me a heads-up, that Buck would be there at noon and he was, promptly. Buck is very low-key; he asked me a few questions, examined the dryer, and determined that the heating element was shot. I had given Jimmy the dryer make and model # the previous day, so he had the right part. Buck installed the new heating element and completely vacummed the inner workings of the dryer. He also swept and cleaned up the work area thoroughly. The job took about an hour, and they do apply the service call cost toward the total repair bill. The dryer is only 6 yrs old. Too bad the mfgs. don't build "build 'em like they used to," but I would definitely call J&J Appliance again if the situation arises!

It just so happened that when I called J&J, a service man was finishing up another call in the area and could come by within the hour. He arrived about a 1/2 later and was finished less than a 1/2 hour after that. The customer service over the phone was great, I was even thanked for calling. Tthe service man was pleasant and quoted me a price before completing the repair. I felt that the price for coming out, for the part and for the labor was reasonable. I was very pleased with the overall experience.

Our dishwasher just stopped working. Called J&J in the morning and their technician, Buck, was at our house in the afternoon. He gave a thorough check and was able to fix the issue quickly. He also identified potential issues with the panel and the controller. In the end, he was able to fix issues without any new parts.

There was a feed line which brought water into the refrigerator for the icemaker which had broken. The work turned out great. He was able to splice in a new section of line and it was repaired and it works great now. He showed up the same day and fixed it. The price was expensive. I would use them again in the future.

I called J&J to come out and estimate repair of gas range; oven would not heat. Repairman was prompt and courteous; Fixed and cleaned range. Only downside was cost, which came close to that of buying a new range.

Called to get an estimate on a freezer we had that stopped working. They were going to call with when someone could come out and hadn't yet when a repair guy showed up about four hours later. Fortunately we were home and didn't miss the appointment. They charged $78 for the estimate that said the freezer was too costly to repair. I knew the charge when I called for an estimate so the $80 was expected - just seems high for an estimate. The repair man was friendly and seemed to know what he was doing.

I had my corned beef in the oven for St. Patrick's day and decided I would also cook some sides on the stove top for my dinner on Sunday. That's when I found out all of the burners on the stovetop were suddenly not working. Thankfully it did not affect the oven so I found J & J Appliance on Angie's List and called them for help. I believe it was Jimmy who took the call. What a pleasant experience. He actually sounded like he really wanted to help and be of service. As I was giving him my sob story how I could not prepare my meals, he reminded me that if gas was getting to the burners I could simply light them with a match!! He assured me the house would not blow up and waited for me to give the OK that they did indeed light. He took the serial number, model number and said a serviceman would be out the next morning (I would be either the 2nd or 3rd call), and that they would call ahead so there was no reason for me to have to stay home and wait. Jimmy did indeed call and inform me that the serviceman was on his way and Buck showed up about 15 to 20 minutes later. He was very knowledgeable about the stove, what it's problem could be, etc. He had the necessary part in the truck and had the stove repaired in no time at all. I did ask him to check my oven because I thought it was running hot by 25 degrees since my oven thermometer would read 375 if the oven was set for 350. Buck asked where I placed the thermometer (I always place my just inside the door on the left hand side) and said that was my problem. It is too close to the flame. It should always be placed in the middle of the oven and equal distance from both sides. He set the oven to 350, waited patiently for it to heat up and then tested the temperature which read 349 (perfect). I had no oven problem and no more burner problem and I could not have been happier. I would recommend J & J Appliance to anyone looking for service on their appliances. They were superb from the initial phone call right up through the service call.

They were very prompt and professional in the repair of two dryers. He was able to repair them both within two days and was very nice. Would recommend them to my friends.

I called J&J and they were able to put us on the schedule for the following morning. The repairman, Buck, brought the part (igniter) and it was all fixed in a few minutes. Super efficient!!!

It was a pleasure dealing with J&J. The technician, Buck, was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. It was evident that he truly cared about his work, our appliances, and most of all our safety. He took the time to show us that the dryer sheets can actually leave a coating on the lint trap screen which causes the dryer to not vent properly. Buck cleaned all the vents in the dryer and even checked the outside vent to make sure it was clean. After replacing the water valve on the washer, Buck made other adjustments to improve the washer performance. We certainly won't hesitate to call J&J whenever we need an appliance repaired.

The company representative seemed to know what he was doing, and the washer is no longer leaking. He also did some maintenance to deal with other issues.

Called on July 8th and set up appointment for next day. Tech spent some time dismantling and checking unit and concluded it was a blocked drain, which evidently tends to happen on these things. Showed me what the problem was and proposed installing a factory-supplied "kit" to keep problem from recurring. He defrosted the unit, installed the kit and had it back up and running within an hour. He also mopped up the water than inevitably leaked onto the kitchen floor. So far-- and after a week of hot, humid weather-- the fix seems to have solved the problem. I was very happy with this contractor and will be calling them for future appliance repair needs.

In the middle of the afternoon of Friday, July 2 ( just before the long 4th of July weekend ) we discovered a serious leak in our 20 year old hot water heater. The utility room was flooding and we were not able to turn the water off. Our first thought was to call J & J, as we usually do whenever we have appliance problems. We caught Jim and his son just as they were leaving for the weekend. Jim was at our house within a half hour. Fortunately they had a water heater in the store and were able to install it that day. Both were here until after 6:00 PM. Lucky us. We would have had to wait until Tuesday for a service repair if they hadn't accomodated our problem. A long weekend without water. Thank you J & J.

The J&J tech arrived on time, provided an estimate within 15 minutes of arrival, repaired our fridge, installed our disposal, and reworked the plumbing under the sink. He was great about explaining what he would need to do. Once he was done with the repairsinstall, he let us know what warning signs to look for in the future. He was personable, efficient, and did a great job. I will use J&J again. I have already recommended them to friends who hired them and had the same great experience.

I called the company at 9:39, within an hour I spoke to the repair man,and 20 mins. later he arrived. I gave him a run down on the history of the ailing dryer and he went to work on trouble shooting the problem. He unplugged and checked the outlet. It was fine, so then we went to the fusebox.There was a bad fuse of the wrong size. I had a proper 30 amp fuse handy. This cured the lack of heat problem, or at least part of it. He asked how long the dryer had been making the squeaking sound and took a look "under the hood".There was some obvious wear and tear, which was explained to me and a package price was noted for all parts and labor. Then Buck mentioned the flex coming out of my dryer was no longer considered to be safe as it has a tendency to cause or catch fire.and that the exhaust opening that runs from my laundry area, under my sun room to the outside was not the 4" that is optimal for venting. It actually closes down to less than 3",which doesnt help my problem of over heating. There really isn't alot that I can do about it, he just brought it to my attention and advised I might try to check it for lint traps more often as it might be another part of the problem. He again gave a price on parts and labor, wrote a list of each item and individual cost so I could pick and choose.I chose to have the belt assembly replaced, a safe hose installed and a spring cleaning of the exhaust pipe.(Peace of mind for a reasonable price) Then as I wrote out the check, HE cleaned the lint catcher with dish soap and the green scrub side of a sponge, and told me that dryer sheets cause a waxy build up and showed me how even water wouldn't run through it very easily (amazing and good to know).So again he gave free but priceless advice to scrub the catcher once a month if I choose to use dryer sheets.So in a nut shell,I called J & J about my dryer, and 2 1/2 hrs later my dryer has heat. But more importantly that with the invaluable knowledge I obtained from Bucks visit that I can keep my dryer in better working order through his advised maintanance tips.

Excellant. Everyone I dealt with both by phone and in person were thorough, personable. Very timely. Tried very hard to satisfy, which they did. They scheduled their first visit within 2 days of my first phone call.

The repair was excellent. He did a good job and it ran well, although with the age of my units, I probably could have saved the money and bought new ones, which I later did.

He brought the correct part with him because he asked ahead of time which dishwasher we have. He wasn't positive that this would fix it completely but it ended up being the only problem.

The technician came at the scheduled time and fixed the problem. He stayed extra time and checked rest of the functions and also cleaned other parts of the refrigerator. We are very happy with the service and courtesy of the mechanic. J&J also warranty their repairs for 30 days from repair, additional peace of mind for us.

They were very nice. They came out right away and were reasonably priced. The gentleman who came out to do the work was very pleasant. We had another company come out and they told us it could not be fixed, low and behold when J & J came out they fixed everything. I was very impressed by them.
