We called them, but they had a really big waiting list, so we did it ourselves. The guy was real helpful, and he stayed open late, so that we could go and get the parts. They were very helpful on phone. They helped diagnose the problem over the phone.

Very happy with service. He was on time for the appointment. The repair person found the problem quickly and re-assured me that all pumps and motor were sound and not in need of replacement. He presented an estimate and provided the work quickly and professionally. The bill was presented at the exact amount of the estimate. I am very pleased with this service provider and I would use them again for appliance repair.

My dryer was not making heat. I called J&J for service (6/30/14). I was told that there would be a $69 service fee for them to come out. If I agreed to the repairs the service fee would go towards the labor. They told me the serviceman would call me tomorrow when he was available. Buck (7/1/14) called and I met him at my house. He checked the dryer and found that it was the sensor. He informed me what was wrong and said it would cost $179.95 + tax. I thought it was a little high, but was more concerned about the getting my dryer fixed. He cleaned the dryer and replaced the sensor. The dryer functioned normally. I paid $195 and Buck left. He was at my home for a total of 45 minutes. After he left I looked at the receipt. There were no line items for labor or parts. He only entered a price. I found the sensor online for $24 dollars. The $69 service fee was supposed to be applied to the repair costs. This means Buck was paid $155 for 45 minutes of work. That is $206 an hour. That seemed way too high. I called J&J appliance at 9:00 A.M. the next day (7/2/14). I questioned the charge with the woman on the phone. She asked if I signed the estimate, which I replied yes. In hind sight I should have questioned the charges with Buck, while he was at my house. I asked what their hourly labor charge was. She replied that they did not have a set hourly charge. It was at the service man?s discretion what to charge. I said that it seems odd that the service man can just come up with any price he wants. I was told, ?That is how we run our business.? I pointed out that $155 for 45 minutes of work was very high. She took my name and number and told me that she would call back after she spoke with Buck. It has been more than almost a month and I have not received a call back from J&J appliance. The dryer is still working and I have no problem with the quality of the repair work. My issue is with the pricing. I felt the charge was way too high. Be aware that J&J has no set hourly charge, so ask what the parts cost and how long it will take. In my case it was $206 per hour. Then do the math on your own. I should have done this instead of paying without asking the right questions.

We were very happy with them and they were prompt. They did a great job. They came out exactly what they said they would.

Called and got same day service. They worked around my schedule (couldn't be home for a few hours). Came early, diagnosed issue, and fixed it. I thought the price was a little high, but not too bad. I don't know how much a lid switch assembly costs, but I thought the labor was reasonable. Plus, the guy was nice and professional. Recommended and will use again if needed.

Buck showed up 4-5 hours after we called. He was friendly, professional and meticulous about getting the job done. Our fridge and freezer were no longer keeping their temperature so the defrost timer and limit thermostat were replaced. Frost buildup was cleaned, as well as the coils on the outside, with instructions given on periodically lubricating the gaskets with Vaseline to keep the seal. It was a $70 service call, and the total charge of $271 seemed reasonable. We were very pleased to have this all taken care of in the same day. Our only complaint about this company was that when I first called they inquired how we got their name. When I said Angie's List, they replied "God bless you" - a very unprofessional way to speak to a customer whose personal religious beliefs are unknown. A simple "Thank you" would have been perfect! 6/16/14 Update: On 6/14 our fridge/freezer was no longer keeping its temperature and we had to spend $65 to bring out a Saturday service provider. They informed us that the issue seems the same as in February ? frost had formed on the internal freezer coils, blocking airflow ? and it likely had been building up to this point for some time now. As a temporary fix we were advised to defrost the coils with a hairdryer. We bought ice and spent much of the day attempting to salvage our food once again and cleaning up. We spoke with J&J today and were informed that they only have a 90-day warranty on parts and 30 days on labor. They agreed to come by sometime this week when they happen to be the area, but would not say when. We are hoping for a fair resolution to this matter and will post an update. Update: J&J returned on 6/19 and replaced the defrost timer. They seemed intent on making sure we understood that it was past the warranty period. The serviceman did not defrost the coils for us this time, and was not going to move the fridge back into its cubby until we specifically requested it. Nor did they offer to do any of the necessary labor for an additional fee. We will not likely use them in the future.

Quick and efficient - they had the replacement part with them when they showed-up.

I am taking care of my mother who is in hospice care. When our washer started acting up I needed service immediately. J&J was extremely responsive. From the person who answered my call to the technician I was most impressed with their customer service and professionalism. My call was in the morning, and the technician arrived before noon. He explained the problems, various solutions, and fixed the washer without delay and neatly. I would absolutely call J&J for any services needed now!! THANK YOU!!

I called for washing machine repair, and was told I may get a service call on Thursday or the next day. On Friday, I called again, and was told I would get a call that day when the repairman was on the way. That never happened.

Gas clothes dryer quit on Sunday. On Monday, made appointment online with Sears. Earliest date for Friday. Called another local service (Home Appliance). Earliest appt. Wed. Called J&J Appliance and got Tue. appt. Service tech, Buck, called 4 PM Monday, from nearby repair he had just finished. He came and completed repair in 30 min. Problem was failed thermostat fuses. Replace both and installed missing screw on loose drum blade. He vacuum cleaned the entire inside of the dryer and left laundry room in good order. Despite all repair services having a backlog, including J&J, I got same-day service at a lower quoted price and genuine professionalism. That is quality customer service!

I called for service in the morning and a technician was at my house by mid afternoon. The technician explained in detail what needed repair and completed the work expeditiously. He also explained that a new outside covering for the vent would be a good idea.

I called during business hours and left a message. Never received a call back.

I had called the gas company because of an odor of gas coming from my oven when it was turned on. The gas company tech said it was either the burner or the igniter and I'd need to call an appliance person. I went on Angie's list and found J and J Appliance rated "A" so called. The tech was here in two hours. He was knowledgable, efficient, and friendly. We had a lively conversation about politics (initiated by me) while he repaired the igniter. I was quite comfortable with him in my home. He was finished with the task in a reasonably short period of time. I have the company's name in my phone book now and would call them for any other problems.

It was great!!! THis company is fast, friendly, efficient and has good pricing. They fixed my washer that wasn't providing a hot water wash cycle. Another company came out and declared it was "functioning normally" even the the "hot" water temperature was only 70F. J & J fixed this and a dryer problem quickly.

The technician found a screw that had fallen loose when the fridge was manufactured. He removed it and fixed the problem.

They fixed everything needed and now my refridgerator works perfectly!

They were really good. We didn't have to pay since it was under warranty.

The tech was quick to diagnose and fix the burned out ignitor. While he was there he also fixed a burner for me that had not worked right in years at no extra charge. The repair was quick and he was very professional and they came out the very next day.

Called J&J Appliance after reading Angie's reviews. then scheduled a time for technician to come out and figure out the problem. Technician was prompt, courteous and went straight to work. Discussed options and repairs. Fixed in a timely fashion and ready to do laundry. Excellent service and will use again

Very professional, knew what he was doing

We called J&J based on the great reviews listed on Angie's List. J&J came out to look at our stove which was emitting too much Carbon Monoxide upon our general home inspection when purchasing our home. The oven was having trouble maintaining temperature because it would not re-ignite after the initial pre-heat. We suffered through not using the oven for a few weeks after moving in, but the stove top burners worked properly. We called J&J out to diagnose and fix the problem and they scheduled an appointment immediately and sent one of their technicians out within an hour of receiving the call. It was determined the burner and ignition unit within the oven were malfunctioning and would need to be replaced. They returned to their shop and came back the next day to complete the repair. The technician was very quick and courteous and the repair worked well. Along with the replacement of the burner the technician also tightened up all of the wiring to ensure it was secure. The very next day we turned on the stovetop burners and the stove tripped the circuit breaker in the basement shutting off all power to the kitchen. After resetting the breaker we again tried the stove and it tripped a second time. We unplugged the stove from the wall and reset the breaker once again. We called J&J to come out and find out what the problem was and the technician found that one of the wires had shorted out against the frame of the oven. This is one of the wires that was played with the day before. When we asked him to get things back to the correct working order we were told that we would have to pay another $100 for a technician to come out and rewire the stove. Since this had all been in perfect working order for several weeks until J&J came out and adjusted it, we demanded they come out and correct their error. They refuse to remedy the situation calling it a coincidence not caused by them, regardless of whether they had touched the wiring the previous day and it failed on the very first use. In the end I took on the job myself and fixed the problem in roughly 30 minutes. Everything has been working well since then. Their initial service was very courteous, Beware as the management does not stand behind their service.

Every thing went well. Buck appeared to know his business and went out of his way to make sure the food was protected.

J&J has impeccable integrity, so when they tell me that the washer is not worth repairing, I believe them. Based on my past experience, I believe that they are reliable. I bought their Crosley Washing Machine on their recommendation and have had no problem whatsoever. I will NEVER buy another GE appliance because they refuse to stand behind their warranty.
