I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal from this company. After 5 days, I still had not heard from Matt to schedule a time to come out. So, I called him to try to schedule. This is where we started going downhill! First, he blamed Angie's List for not supplying him with my information which is why he had not contacted me (even though I had paid with PayPal, which would have given him that info) so, I messaged him with my phone number and address. That became the first of many excuses from Matt. I'm sure he will even have an excuse for this review and blame me somehow. When I finally spoke with him, he said he "thought" he would be out on Monday the 29th, but would call me and let me know for sure. Sunday night at 10 pm came and I had not heard from him, so I texted him to see if he was coming tomorrow and when. He responded with "I think we said Monday morning didn't we?" I replied stating that he said he would confirm, which he hadn't. He never responded again Sunday evening. I assumed, per his message that he would be there in the morning so, I arranged to be off work in the morning. I texted him again in the morning to see when they would be there. His response was " Late morning will work for us or even early afternoon, we are flexible but we have 7:45 to 11:45 already booked." So, at this point, I am not happy. He did offer to re-arrange some appointments when I expressed my displeasure, but I was just frustrated at that point. So, he said he would then be there the next day at 8:15. At 8:24 the next day, I texted him to see where he was. He said "I'll be there within 45 minutes." So, now I have taken off work again in the morning and had to wait again. They did show up finally and I walked them around the yard to the flower beds and then told them another job he could do if there was time. He said OK and they began. When I got back home, I could not have been more disappointed with the job! That had not even completed half of the beds. So, I texted him again trying to understand how not much at all got completed and got another excuse. He said that if he had bid on the job, he would have bid a much longer time than the contracted 5 man hours, but he never said anything like that or expressed any concern while we were walking around. Then to top it all off, most of the weeds were back within a week, so clearly they had not gotten any roots. I would highly recommend finding another company if you are looking to have any yard work done!

I contacted Matt on Thursday after purchasing an Angie's list deal. He took down my contact information and asked if he could call me back later to discuss the work I wanted done. He returned my call later that evening, as promised, and I briefly described that the area needed "cleaned up" - weeded, trimmed, etc. Matt gave me a tentative date of Monday to complete the work. He told me that he would let me know if that needed to change based on the weather (projected rain over the weekend). I had planned to be home Monday afternoon when they arrived, but I got delayed. Matt called when they arrived to confirm what I wanted them to do. He called back a second time to suggest that they edge the area for me and that they mulch the area to ensure that I got my moneys worth out of the deal I purchased. By the time I arrived home, the work was completed. The area was cleaned up and looked wonderful! I will definitely use their services again!

We had purchased a big deal for their service. The experience wasn't too great. It was supposed to be a first mowing, and they didn't come until the grass was way long, and after they mowed it, it was less but it wasn't a nice cut. The back was not cut evenly, I guess because of the machine that they had. I called them a couple times, they first said they would come out the next week, when I first called, then it rained a lot, then I called them two weeks later, and they said they were scheduling me to come out the next week.

I never heard from them and found a better deal from someone else.

We purchased 5 hours of work (1 man) or 2.5 hours of work (2 men) for $250. Matt came quickly to give us an estimate. We went through everything we wanted done with him. He wrote nothing down. He didn't give us a written estimate...only verbal. This isn't good business. Having a written estimate and having your customer read and sign it protects the business owner as well as their customers. There can't be any misunderstandings or confusion when it is in writing. Also Matt would not have to keep asking what jobs need to be done. He was pretty certain he could get all that we wanted down within the $250 we paid. We expressed that we thought it would take more time than that. We told him we didn't expect it all to be done for the coupon price but he was sure it would be enough time. He arrived with another worker and once again I had to go through everything we wanted done with him. I had to go out so Matt called me to ask me to verify something else we wanted done. He came back a few weeks later to apply the weed killer/fertilizer and do a small thing that wasn't done the first time. Matt is a very nice, hard working, conscientious guy. The weather wasn't co operating but Matt was very good about calling and rescheduling. He does good work and wants to please his customers. He stayed longer than the time we paid for to get the job done. Our yard was left neat and tidy. But in our opinion he wasn't good giving accurate estimates on time and cost. If you are on a tight budget this may be a problem for you.

They were very nice. I am satisfied with the job they did. They worked hard and did a good job.

1. Scheduling was a nightmare: difficult to get in touch with, and followup calls did mot occur. 2. "Deal" terms as posted on angies list were changed by service and wanted to charge extra for disposal. 3. Three guys arrived but only two worked as the third stood at side of the house on his phone. I was told he didnt feel well. Hours for driving to and from were deducted from deal according to owner.

I have been very satisfied with their work. They come when they say they are going to and they are careful in their mowing and trimming. The owner has been responsive when I've called with a question.

Matt and his team did a great job with our spring clean up. They were prompt, thorough and reasonably priced. Also, they were able to get us scheduled quickly. We would definitely use them again.

I have no problem with the work these guys did, I only have a problem with the communication and how long it took them to get out to do the work. I couldn't even get ahold of someone for the first week to try and schedule an appointment. Then once I did schedule, they didn't complete the entire deal in one day. I was told what work they did and how long it took - I guess I just had to trust them because they didn't provide any sort of receipt/timesheet for the work that was done (I purchased 5 hours of work). So it took several weeks to get them to finally come back and finish the hours I had purchased almost 2 months ago. There was a miscommunication somewhere in between the 1st day they did work and the last day - long story short, they came and cut my lawn again when I wanted them to use the rest of the 3.5 hours to clean up my yard (sticks/shrubs/etc). He cancelled on me a few times or just never came when he said they would. I felt like since I bought an Angie's List deal I was on their back burner and they didn't really care if or when they provided me service even thought I already paid $250. They did good work but the poor communication and lack of reliability is not worth it - I will take my lawn care needs elsewhere.

National Lawn & Landscape did a fine job cleaning up the flower beds. Matt even came back a second day to mow the lawn.

This house was a mess. Little had been done outside since last year other than mow occassionally. Two workers and the owner/supervisor showed up on time, worked deligently and took care of all contracted work and anything else I asked of them. House was transformed from a trashpit to a respectable dwelling. I contracted the company to mow lawn weekly until the home is sold. I recommend this company highly.

Initial callback excellent and was scheduled in a timely manor. Did not show during week was initially scheduled, when contacting them I was placed on schedule for the following week 1st thing but when called on Thursday to find out an update due to it raining one day that week they called me back within a couple hours and were onsite. Job was completed and looked great.

Same as above. Including the fact that we would recommend his work to anyone.

All went well for several years. This year, the responsiveness is down. It's been over a week since we've seen them and over a week since the last time. Lawn is growing out of control and now we need to switch.

They were totally unresponsive.

Great experience very proffesional and my lawn was cut in 15 minutes.

Called and gentleman was able to come out the next day! Did a quick but great job, said he even did it heavy since it was obvious that my lawn needed it :-). A month later my lawn is beginning to look respectable!

Matt has been exceptional and has provided great service and I have used them several times now.

Prompt and professional. Matt and his team did a really nice job on the cleanup and they know what they are doing. They made sure the job was done well and according to what they had told me. We were very satisfied.

Matt and his team did a fantastic job, really exceed our expectations! Arrived on time and finished the job in one day. They will be doing our lawn work from now on.

Matt was very nice when he came out to do an estimate for me. The estimate was significantly cheaper than the other companies I talked to. Also, Matt seemed more willing to listen to what I wanted to do with regards to the bushes -- I know what I like and prefer not to have people dictating what I "should" do when it's different from what I want to do (every time I deal with landscapers that seems to be an issue -- I prefer to be given my options rather than told what I want). So I went ahead and hired National to do the work I needed done. Then things started going downhill. Matt suggested a particular day for them to come out, which was fine with me, but he was supposed to call me to go over things again before that day. I heard nothing and heard nothing and heard nothing so, with the day of work set (based on what he had said) for three days hence, I called him. He was confused and said he had already set up an appointment with me and named a date we'd never discussed. We went back and forth a bit and he said maybe he had confused me with someone who had the same first name. So we managed to get another date set up (he had no memory of giving me a date when we met), and I told him that was fine. We picked a day I wasn't going to be able to be there the whole time, and I asked if that was okay, and he said yes. I had explicitly asked for a written estimate during the initial meeting, which was good, because Matt was confused about how many bushes he was charging me for when he got there. He asked me to get the original estimate (which he didn't have a copy of), and when he looked at it, he told me he had brought more bushes to fill the space than that, so I paid him another $100. Then, a few days later, he calls me and tells me he overcharged me for the bushes (not clear on why) and so the first round of fertilizer on the lawn (normally $35) would be free. It all felt very haphazard. In fact, every time I talked with him (except for that initial meeting), it felt haphazard. I never felt like he was writing anything down. The three guys (which included Matt) who came did a great job of tearing out the bushes and putting in the new ones. They all spoke to me when I went out and were pleasant. They also did a nice job of mulching. One or two of the bushes were still a little higher than I asked for, and they didn't do anything to my big spiral trees in the front, which were also kind of ragged. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that "all the bushes" meant "all the bushes," but the other people I got estimates did note they were including those in the estimate. Maybe I should have mentioned them specifically. With regards to the lawn treatments -- more confusion, this time on my end. I'm pretty sure I got both of the fertilizer treatments, but I'm not sure TruGreen came both times they were supposed to. They put a little sign in your yard warning off kids and pets after they put the chemicals on, and I only had that happen once. Maybe they came both times...but shouldn't I know for SURE? Next year, I expect I'll be mulching and trimming myself...and if I need TruGreen, I'll call them myself. If I had to give some friendly advice to Matt, it would be to try to get more organized so that phone calls are returned in a timely fashion, so that customers are kept straight from one another, and so that you know exactly what work you're doing for what price, when. Finally, I would recommend some kind of door hanger or receipt EACH time a service of any type is performed. Last piece of information for anyone having work done -- they do want to be paid that day, so make sure you are able to be there throughout the time that they're there. Since I wasn't able to be there while the work was being finished up, I had to pre-pay, which is obviously not ideal (at least not for the customer).

Crew was professional and arrived as promised. The work was completed in a timely manner and all requests were addressed. As an added bonus, they even mowed my lawn at the end (which was not part of the job)

They do a good job and I am happy with their service. Matt, the guy that owns the company is friendly and nice. It's nice to see someone working for you who you can communicate with and is knowledgable.

I needed someone to mow and trim my lawn this Summer. Matt called me back quickly with an estimate. Very professional!
