It was a very small job and I had requested that they fit me in where it was convenient for them. They did exactly that. Called me when they'd finished up a job close by and got out to my house on short notice. Good crew and they did a good job. Thanks guys. I'll be sure to call you in the future when I need additional work done on my gutters.

I thought they were reasonably priced. He was a really nice guy and I would use them again. It did take about a month to get the invoice but I think it was just a miscommunication. The scheduling was pretty easy and they were flexible.

Very well, they did everything they talked about and on time.

Supplier came in a timely matter. Very professional. Clean-up was good. Would use them again.

Sam was able to come out for an estimate within a week of my call. He took the time to explain and examine my roof and drainage system and make some recommendations that the other contractors did not. He explained he uses some higher quality gauge products as well, which should hold up better with the upcoming ice and snow of winter. His estimate was in the middle range of the 4 that I got for the job, but I decided to go with him based on his professionalism. The workers arrived on schedule in a clearly marked van. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up and removed all debris and old gutters/downspouts. The new gutters look great! They finished in a timely manner. They were courteous and respectful. I guess the last piece of the review will be I will see what happens when it rains next! I am very happy with their service. I recommend this contractor and would use this service again if the need arises. Thank-you very much.

The work was excellent. I was very happy with it and had no complaints. They put a downspout in and they charged very reasonably for that.

Was contacted by the vendor via Angie's list & politely informed that I lived out of his service area & advised to ask for a refund. Big Deal advertised services inclusive of Medina County, but I live in a Southern corner of county & am out of his area.

My high-rear gutter had come down. They came out promptly and were very professional and explained in detail what they would do and showed me the materials they would use and we looked at samples and discussed color selection as existing color is outdated (old house). Very good communication/responsive. Did a nice job. I will definitely use them if I need work again.

Mr. Robert Fontana, the owner of Sam-the Gutter-Man, provided me with an estimate for all new aluminum gutters and downspouts on 12-10-2013. I was very excited that he came out as agreed because frequently contractors either don?t return telephone calls or never come out to give you the promised estimate. The company had been in business for a substantial amount of time, and had an A rating on Angie?s list, and I thought at the time that they were a member of the Greater Cleveland BBB. When I called Mr. Fontana to tell him I had selected his company to install the gutters and downspouts he said that they would not be able to do the installation until the spring, as they were ceasing outside work during the winter. I was disappointed that I would have to wait until spring, nonetheless I decided to go ahead and wait for his company because I was certain that I would be happy with the finished job. I finally heard from Mr. Fontana in March and the gutters and downspouts were installed on March 31, 2014. The cost of the gutters and downspouts for a small bungalow was $770 and an additional $500.00 for Leaf Guard: total $1,270. Some of the gutters and downspouts could not be installed as the support beam over a 3-season room needed to be replaced before the gutters could be installed in that location. The original price of the contract was $1270. Due to the condition of a 3 season room attached to the house, two large sections of gutter and a downspout could not be completed. Mr. Fontana charged me $1,000 of the $1,270 although two long sections of gutter and a downspout were not completed. Upon examination of the completed work I was extremely disappointed as the workmanship on the gutters, downspouts, and the cementing was generally sloppy. I could not believe that this was the same company that received so many sparkling reviews on Angie?s list. (Photos of the work are available.). Upon closer inspection of the work I noted that at least one of the downspouts did not cover the enter gutter outlet which means that water that is supposed to flow through the downspout into the drain tile is collecting at the foundation of the house which will lead to water in the basement. Mr. Fontana had advised me when he did the inspection that I might want to consider replacing the 2x3 inch downspouts with 3x4 inch downspouts to better handle the rain coming off the roof and that is the option I chose to go with. However it turned out the 3x4 downspouts were too large for the gutters and in a number of places the downspout overhangs the gutter. The leaf relief that was installed is not secured at the ends and will allow debris and leaves to accumulate inside the gutter. One of the downspouts was bent, nonetheless the worker installed it anyway. Likewise, even though clearly the downspouts were too large for the gutters in places, inexplicably the workers installed the gutters anyway. It is incomprehensible to me that I ended up with such a poor result from Sam-The-Gutter-Man. I am appalled by the poor workmanship and it is unbelievable that Mr. Fontana was satisfied with the work as he did inspect it before asking for payment. The cement work on the clay drain tile was terrible and the downspout pipe bands were sloppily secured. The old cement that was replaced was left behind at the work site. Mr. Fontana came out to my house on May 8 and promised to come back out in the next ?week or two? to make repairs. I felt compelled to hire an independent inspection contractor to meet with us as I felt as a single woman and a senior citizen, I could no longer trust Mr. Fontana to deal fairly with me. On May 30 I still had not heard from him and left a message for him to call me to schedule the repairs. Receiving no response, I called and left another message on June 2nd. No return call was received. I called again on June 4th. At that time, I reminded him of his promise on May 8 to get back with me to make repairs. He was unapologetic and had no explanation for why he did not follow-up with the commitment that he had made to me. Mr. Fontana claims he did not get the two messages I had left. He stated that he will call me on Monday (6/9) to schedule his workers to come out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I am so soured on Mr. Fontana and his treatment of me that I would prefer that neither he nor his workers set foot on my property. My preference is that he refund my money and remove the gutters and downspouts, however, I know that that will not happen. I am not optimistic about the resolution of this situation as Mr. Fontana has only grudgingly agreed to make the repairs and so far has avoided doing so. I am not certain why I received such shoddy, unprofessional service when so many of Mr. Fontana?s other customers were satisfied, but I am unhappy with the company. I will provide an up-date after the repairs are made and hopefully my review will improve.

Provider show up to my house and looked at the garage that needed new gutters and said it wasn't $99.00 worth of work. It was to me! I got the money refunded and the gutters still need to be replaced.

I had a small leak in a section of gutter. Upon inspecting the issue, Sam the Gutter Man was honest about saying I didn't need that work done, as the leak was trivially fixable w/o replacing the entire gutter. I was able to get a refund on the work from Angie's list. So although I can't rate his quality of work, I can at least appreciate StGM's honesty about not needing the work done.

He showed up on time as promised gave us a very good price and fixed gutters as promised.

Very stisfied with service, arrived on time was very polite, did an good job.

Weather was a issue on the first appointment, and Rob called to relate that the following weekend would be better. . Later in the week he called to confirm that he would be by after finishing another large Job in the area. He came when promised and took his time to not only fix the dry rotted sofitt and trim but cleaned and removed all nesting materials, replacing with insulaion and finished by painting the repair to make it as good as new. If you have a repair or new roof or gutter replacement I cant imagine anyone doing a more honest cost effective and proffessional job.

The experience with Sam was satisfactory; not outstanding, but satisfactory. Nothing in particular stood out about him but he was willing to come back and take care of what didn't seem to be fixed the first time.

He is a nice guy, and he did a good job.

Sam was great. He came out to give us a bid when he said he would and he and his workers showed up to do the work when he said they would. Great quality work.

After my downspout was repaired and again separated from my home due to high winds I contacted Sam the Gutter Man. He returned my call promptly and met me at my home for an estimate a few hours later. He gave me options for the repair including reattaching the existing downspout in a manner that would prevent future problems. Installing a new section of gutter and rerouting the flow to a larger and newer downspout was the option I chose. The work was completed promptly and to my satisfaction.

Very professional, friendly, installers were great, in and out in no time flat. Would recommend to anyone.

I found the owner to be pleasant and refreshingly honest with his schedule and the changing of the season. We discisussed my immediate needs and a plan to make fill repairs this spring. The stop gap repairs were made while I was out of town but I did receive a call from the owner who advised me of the completion date. AS the weather has been to bad a close inspection of the work could not be done one my part ..but at a glance it looks like every thing that we spoke of was completed. I've read several reviews on this page and wanted to offer a bit more of my experience ... I found the owner to be very conscientious and someone who looking to do the right thing ..problem solving with his expertise while listening to my needs. There was no UP selling ,,,no pressure...just an honest assessment of my condition and his recommendations to resolve my issues. I look forward to doing business with them this spring.

The repair was to be performed on 12/28/13. He called said his supplier was closed - Have not heard from him since

He was very polite and upfront about the situation and explained it was to late in the season to perform the service.

One would think that gutter replacement or repair would consist of services necessary to replace or repair your gutters; like new gutters, gutter boards if needed, etc. I was disappointed to learn that the coupon only covered replacement or repair of the gutters themselves. That's it. If you required gutter board or fascia, etc. coupon would not cover. Therefore, when the Gutter Man came to the house he quoted me $395 of which a small percentage was for gutters only. Not enough to take advantage of the coupon. Needless to say I was disappointed I was unable to use the coupon.

Sam did NOT call me as he promised in the morning to give an estimate of the time he would show up.. I called him 2 times. HE left a message on my answering machine which was not audible from his cell phone. When he did call 3Pm said he had all ready been to my house after I left the message I would not be home till after 2PM ish and wanted to talk to him in person. He priced the job at 256.00 PLUS THE $100.00 I paid to Angies list which totaled $356.00. I had 3 estimates from other's that ranged from $200 to $250 TOTAL so he was MORE than 3 other estimates by $106.00, another words I felt I had wasted the$99.00 to Angies list. When I said where's the $200.00 of gutter repair and replacement I purchased he kept saying my charge is minimum of $150.00 apparently above the $99.00 to Angies list. When I said then this is costing me really as advertised $456.00 ($256.00 his quote PLUS the supposed $200.00 in gutter repair or replacement I purchased from Angie's list I told him I would go elsewhere. Not professional did not call as he stated and came when I was NOT home and he knew it. Price was excessive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. There was NO savings going through Angie's list with this service provider.
