Description of Work: My husband was home early waiting for service. After forgetting our appointment and a 2nd phone call, they came much later than expected. The people who came (Ray & assistant) were courteous and did a pretty good job. They changed the handle and flush valve on a fairly new Kohler toilet (not even 2 years old). They did not have the parts so they had to go out twice to get parts. It took approximately 2 hours including the trips to get the parts. They said the parts were $150.00 and labor was $100.00 per hour. However, later on the phone the owner, Mike Ferro said it was $150.00 per hour. He did not honor the 10% discount for seniors which is on their website and was not nice. Their website does not have labor/hourly rates. For $450.00 we could have almost bought a new toilet! Way overpriced!!

+ -1 moreWithin 1 week of Mike's estimate, 3 men showed up to replace the system and did so in 1 day. The man in charge appeared to be thoroughly knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. They replaced everything including a new directly heated water tank, heat pumps, valves, etc. In the end I had a brand new system that supplied more than ample heat and hot water. The old system could not supply enough hot water to take a single shower before turning ice cold. When I complained in the past, I was always told that "my main water pipes were not large enough."
Description of Work: My hot water heating system was badly leaking all over the boiler room floor. Mike Ferro came over immediately to check it out and concluded that the main boiler had a major crack. He offered 2 choices: (1) an attempt at a repair or (2) a completely new system. Since the system was over 30 years old and had given me nothing but problems, I told Mike to go ahead with a new system.

+ -1 moreThey sent 2 kids who knew nothing about disposals and did nothing to fix it, but charged me $125 just to come out and do nothing. Later, I got it unclogged myself with a wrench and stopped payment on the check. I called the owner to tell him, and he screamed at me. This company is appauling. Do not ever call them for anything.
Description of Work: My sink garbage disposal stopped working and I called them. They simply told me it was broken and needed to be replaced. ($125)

+ -1 moreThe work was done properly, and he even liked our cats and said he had a cat back home like one of ours. We would probably call them in a pinch, but the price was too high. They didn't give us an estimate, so we didn't know how much it would cost.
Description of Work: We called because the pipe behind our washing machine kept overflowing. They came the same day we called. Andi came and snaked the pipe and trying the washer a couple of times to make sure it wasn't overflowing again. He sealed the pipe also. We had a 10% off labor coupon from their website. He called the boss and said the job was $350, but gave it to us for $300. He was here for a total of 1/2 hour. He did a good job and cleaned up any mess he made, but the price was way too high for 1/2 hour's work. This was done April 21, 2007.

They refused to honor a coupon they had sent me earlier for a discount on labor with the plea that the job took longer that they estimated. This sounded like an excuse, but I would use them again and already have asked for an estimate on a larger job.

+ -1 moreI had confidence in their assessment and the work that they did was much needed. Our backyard has a functioning sprinkler. The leak in the living room was supposedly fixed three times in the past by another plumber and kept recurring. I feel that they were a bit expensive, but I felt they knew what they were doing. Mr. Ferro is all about "leave a check today" over and over again before the work was completed. I had to be firm with him. The three apprentices who did the actual work were quite good, courteous, and very clean. They were very responsive to my request. After they were done, the toilet was not reset properly and kept flushing automatically, they fixed it once it was brought to their attention!
Description of Work: They did an extensive work on the front and back sprinkler system, installed ten sprinkler heads and fix four broken pipes. Supply and installed five zones valves. Install a new computer panel. Leak in the living room ceiling fixed by cracking the ceiling to find the problem, and removing one head and reset toilet in the 2nd floor. Leak in the garage ceiling fix by installing sealant in the toilet on the first floor.

+ -1 moreThey came promptly, they took care of the job. I thought it was a little pricey. They cleaned up nicely. They do give a senior discount! They replaced everything after they fixed the problem and it is working beautifully. My tenants are very satisfied!

+ -1 moreTh circulating pump was removed and replaced with a new and smaller pump. It was still operational, but on the verge of failing. They were very punctual and courteous. The area was cleaned up after the work was complete. I have used Ferro in the past and always have been quiet satisfied with their work and promptness in responding to my calls.
Description of Work: We had a bad circulating pump on my furnace. Although it worked, it was making loud squealing noises when in operation.
