Summit Electric, as advertised in "Dan's Papers", was started in 2004. Specializing in high end hampton style custom work, commercial storefronts, office space and I love the little jobs. I relocated to Sullivan county and started Summit back up without the "hampton" prices!

It went well. I was not there at the time but he was there early and stayed the day till work was done. He contacted the electric company and had my service restored. He provided the electric certificate to get it restored.
Description of Work: Had meter pan changed as well as pipe from meter pan to top of the house. A tree branch had fallen down, taking the wire down and bending the metal pipe encasing the wire.

Bobby said he would charge parts and labor for the work, showed up when he said he would, took care of the problem, and charged a fair price for the work performed.
Description of Work: We had some bad breakers and outlets, could not get most contractors to show up to even quote it, called Bobby off Angie list recommendation.

I told him to call me when he got to the house and let me know exactly what had to be done before fixing anything. I called him several times that day but he never answered the phone. I finally made contact with him a few days later, where he proceeds to tell me the complications that arose during fixing the GFI switch in the kitchen. He says that he had to "pull" a new wire from the main panel box and he was at my house for over eight hours. I visited the house few days later with another electrician to make sure Bobby from Summit did in fact had to pull a new power line to the kitchen. It turned out he did not!. From what I understand, if he had pulled a new wire from the basement to the kitchen the wall would have been opened in a couple of places to snake the wire through. When I asked him again, he never answered and became irritated. I believed that because I was not there he took the opportunity to "exaggerate" the work that had to be done so he can overcharge me. I told him I was willing to pay him $525 for the work that was really done and he threatened to put a Lien on the property etc. He said to pay him $750 which I reluctantly paid to get rid of the stress of dealing with him. He now continues to harass me for $70 which he says I owe him. In the end the only electrical work that was done was to change two GFI switches.
Description of Work: Came across as a nice guy but turned out to be devious. He was supposed to reinforce a deck and stoop rail and secure it to the house. This was to be done with a couple pieces of 2x4 and some long screws. He was also supposed to check a GFI switch in the kitchen and upstairs in the bath. I was not there when the work was performed. The deck, stoop and GFI switch in the kitchen was fixed. The GFI upstairs was supposedly fixed but never tested after it was reset and it tripped when the real estate agent went to the house. He had to make a second visit and sent me another bill for that visit. Turns out the GFI switch needed changing according to him.

Fabulous is not a strong enough description. Bobby Pace showed up to look at the work when he said he would. I had a total of 3 contractors look at the job but he was the only one who made suggestions on how I could save money while the others tried to add scope and cost. He provided me with a written estimate and stayed true to his bid. His crew came to perform the work on time. They worked efficiently. They were polite and answered any questions I asked. They cleaned the job-site when they were finished. The owner arrived mid job to check on their progress, assure that the work was being done in a professional manner and to check if I had any concerns. Two days later, I thought I had a problem. It was a holiday weekend and I expected that my message would be returned during the week. Much to my surprise, he promptly returned my call and came to check on the matter! It turned out that the appliance I plugged into the outlet had a defective switch...their work was NOT at fault. From start to finish Summit Electric was consummately professional, responsive and customer friendly. I will use them for any future electrical work and whole-heartedly recommend them.
Description of Work: A tree fell and damaged the electrical supply cable and pulled from the house. I needed the house main service cable (200 AMP service) and the weather guard replaced and reconnected to the two electrical meters. In addition, the electrical ground from the outside breaker boxes needed updating. I also asked them to provide a new dedicated line and outlet for higher watt usage in my living room and a switch for a light in the crawl space under the house.

Knowledgeable, professional, super-responsive (very important to me), courteous, showed up when they said they would, were done when they promised. Reasonable price. Fantastic experience. I highly recommend them and would (will!) definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Bobby and his crew installed a 16kw back-up generator.
