Marzano Tile

My usual contractor was unavailable, but Rick was able to get the job done in a pinch. He was very punctual and professional.

Rick did a beautiful job of installing floor to ceiling polished marble tiles and a travertine stone floor in our family bathroom. He demolished the old bathroom down to the studs, removed the old cast iron tub, and installed new concrete board on the walls. He also installed the new tub and plumbed in the new tub faucet. Rick is a pleasure to work with. He is very professional, always cleans up each day and is very punctual. He is very meticulous and his years of experience tiling really show in his work. All of the tiling is beautifully aligned around objects and corners etc., and he finishes off every small detail. He was always very receptive to our ideas about how we wanted the tiles installed. He thoughtfully advised us when our ideas were not quite going to work and he came up with some great alternatives. The end result is absolutely stunning and we are overjoyed with our new bathroom.

Rick Marzano replaced our old outdated tile with beautiful ivory travertine I prchased at Home Depot. He was punctual, reliable, and did a truly amazing job putting down 275 square feet of travertine. He returned every call promptly, had great ideas about the tile pattern and grouting.... now I know why he gets straight A,s on angies list. The pricing was more than fair for the amount of time and detail work done. I could not be happier, my only regret is I didn't find his company before I hired another contractor to tile the upstairs bathroom and shower. Thank you!!! It's beautiful

Well, Rick Marzano called me within twenty four hours of my e-mail request. Twenty four hours later he was at my house to look over the job and give an estimate. Twenty four hours after meeting with him he was promptly at my house and starting the job. Rick had to complete a job after I had let go of the first contractor for lack of skill. There were several mistakes made by the prior contractor including some tile work that would have to be torn out. Rick assured me that everything could be fixed and told me clearly what he planned to do. Rick continued to work quietly and cleanly to complete the job. He never let us down in any way. He stuck to his schedule and was here every day unless he had told me prior about a prior engagement. Rick's work speaks for itself.....He is truly an artist. Bathroom looks just like we thought it should! Awesome job Rick! Rick stuck to his original estimate and no surprises when it came time to pay him; which we had no problem doing because the bathroom looks great! We will certainly call on Rick Marzano in the future for any tile jobs we do. I recommend him in the highest way. He makes tile work look easy. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time! Lots of thumbs up for Marzano Tile!!!

I first met Rick in August when he did a new tile backsplash in my kitchen. I liked his work so much that when I found out he also did complete bathroom remodels I could not hire him quick enough. Not only is Rick an outstanding craftsman who takes great pride in the high quality of work he does for his customers, Rick is trustworthy, hardworkding, honest and very easy to have in the house. We are thrilled it the quality work he has done for us - first on our kitchen backsplash then on a full bathroom tear out and remodel which included a new tile shower, tile shower floor, tile bathroom floor, vanity, toilet, fan, lights, fixtures, etc. Rick does it all and does it with pride and quality. Each day he was here by 8am and worked non stop until end of day. When he ran in to a couple unexpected isssues he did not get frazzeled and charge me an arm & leg. He told me what needed to be done, assured me he could handle it, made a slight adjustment in price and continued on. We love the work Rick has done. If you need tile work, Rick is your man. I highly recommend him.

Rick was extremely professional and it shows that he enjoys his work. We had 21 square feet of kitchen backsplash that was done flawlessly. Rick was responsive, prompt, dog friendly, clean, organized, and a true expert at his craft. We are detail oriented people thAt find the smallest imperfections that need to be fixed and we couldn't be happier with Rick's work. We look forward to working with him in the future.

This review is a bit overdue, but wanted to be sure to write as Rick did a great job and am quite happy with his work. It is worth noting that while I am not a tile contractor, I have quite a bit of experience rehabbing homes and working with contractors. As a result, I can be a bit particular and want to ensure the work has a professional look when completed. Rick installed tile in my laundry room and did a great job. He has a lot of experience, has a great attitude, and takes pride in his work. Rick was accommodating after I made a last minute change to set the tile at an angle which of course, requires more time and materials. Bottom line, I am quite pleased and highly recommend Marzano Tile.

Rick started demolition promptly on Tuesday right on time after quoting the job a few weeks before. His quote includes everything but the tile and grout. During the 'waiting period' he quickly and courteously answered any questions that I had about the tile and grout purchases via email. He started by sealing off the door openings and from start to finish cleaned up after himself every few minutes really minimizing any mess. Before removing the slate he carefully removed the shoe molding so that he could replace it after the new tile was installed. All of the slate that was removed was neatly put in contractors disposal bags and placed by the road for pickup by the trash guys on the normal pickup day. The same day Rick dry fitted then glued and screwed the hardie backerboard to the subfloor and made sure all was level and square. He even noticed a couple of places that the subfloor seemed a bit loose so he took the time to secure it to the joists with a few 3" deck screws. Rick also appointed our 6 year old dog Chester as his assistant for the job! On Wednesday Rick arrived right on time again and started laying out (dry fitting) tiles. This went well and we needed to make a few aesthetic decisions regarding the layout. Thinset went down and tiles started flopping down after being cut outside. Thursday was grouting and "put back together" day. After grouting and then washing, washing again, and then again, the floor looked fantastic. Metal edging was installed where appropriate for a crisp look and the shoe molding was reinstalled. Rick ran a bead of white latex caulk between the shoe molding and the baseboard to give it a finished look. He is a master caulker and it shows. Rick treats your home as if it is his own.He is very personable and is a true pleasure to work with. He moves right along but takes his time and never cuts any corners. I would not hesitate to use his services again or to recommend him to friends or neighbors in need of a quality tile installer.

Marzano Tile passed the work to the son-in-law who is starting his own business. Marzano was there but the other guy did the work. I paid through Marzano. There have been several things that needed to be taken care of, and times that were scheduled, he didn’t show up. The installation wasn't level - it was higher in the corners. When he did show up, he made me feel like I was asking for too much to finish the job. I was disappointed that I was passed off and that the guy who did the work didn’t handle things the way I’d think a contractor should work. He did call when he was running late.

Rick was on time, professional, and very efficient. He tiled our entire kitchen, laundry, bathroom, and hallway entrance in five days. The house was always clean during the entire process. My brother has been in carpentry for over 15 years and said the job he did was amazing. Thanks rick!

He did a great job, He came out and gave me an accurate quote. He returned when scheduled and completed the work in the time estimate he gave. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone.

Before our kitchen upgrade project started we had obtained estimates from 3 contractors. We were most impressed with Rick from a 1st impression standpoint, so our preference was to have Rick do the work. However, Rick's estimate was the highest of the three we received. Rick agreed though to lower his cost in order to be more inline with estimates from the other two estimates. All correspondence with Rick was via email, with all responses returned within 24 hours. His work met all our expectations and he always cleaned up at the end of the day. My wife and I are very pleased overall with Marzano Tile and would have no hesitation about using them again for any future project.

It was excellent. He was superb. We agreed on the date he would come, came in the morning, stayed all day, finished the tiling, and it was wonderful. He's very personable, clean, neat, and used all his time to get the work done.

This is the second time I've had Rick out to replace cracked grout. Both times, Rick arrived on time, with matching grout. he was tidy and professional. overall a job well done

We had used Rick on previous tile work. I called and told him what I needed. I asked that he supply the grab bars. He arrived on time and made suggestions as to location of the bars. Rick took just under 3 hours to install the grab bars and do the caulking. His work has always been excellent. He totally cleans up when he is finished with his work. The quote he gave me over the phone was the price of the job. For larger previous work he supplied a contract.

Rick Marzano did another superb job. This was our second experience within a month and this project went as well as the first. Rick is a talented man and a hard worker. He has high standards for his work, so you don't have to watch over his shoulder to know that the job will be done right and done well. He is also a delightful individual to do business with. He is honorable in terms of both cost and timeliness. I would recommend him highly and would definitely use his services again if I had any more tiling work to be done.

They did a splendid job. They do real quality work and went above and beyond to treat my home with respect from start to finish. They were highly professional and very nice to deal with. In fact, we have asked them back to do some more work here in the next few weeks.

I thought he was very professional, he came very promptly and gave an estimate and then took a little while to get scheduled. He came and completed the work in three days just as he said he would. He did exactly what he said he would do and it worked out very nicely. It came out great. Very good looking.

I contacted Rick in October for a quote on my kitchen floor. He returned my call promptly and we scheduled a time for a quote. Rick was very professional and knowledgeable and we scheduled a start date a few days later to begin in November. On 11/18/13, Rick's son inlaw came and removed all of the old flooring. He was very polite and worked consistently throughout the day. He made sure everything was cleaned up after removal. On 11/19/13, Rick's son inlaw returned to begin laying the new floor tile. He worked hard and consistently during the day but towards the end of the evening he said he had ran out of adhesive and would have to come back to finish the floor. On 11/20/13, Rick came back (I was not home) to finish the rest of the tile. Upon returning home, I had noticed that a couple of the floor tiles were not level. I called Rick on the 22nd and advised him of my concern, he knew exactly which tiles I was referring to. He said he would give me a call on the following Monday to reschedule a time to come back out to fix them.On 12/2/13 ( a week later), Rick called and said that his son in law would be out to fix the tile. T.J. showed up around 5:15pm and began to remove the two tiles and reinstall the new ones. Apparently, the new tiles would not adhere, so T.J. said he would have to come back in the am to try again. The next morning, Rick called in the am and said that he would be here after 2pm to fix the tiles. Around 4:00 pm, I received a call from Rick that he would not be coming and would have to reschedule. Initially, he was going to come back on 12/6/13 because I could not take time off of work, but when the hole in my floor began to be a problem (tripping over) I called him back and he was able to come back on the 4th and I had someone here to let him in. On 12/4/13 Rick returned to fix the floor tiles (I was not home). When I returned home in the evening, I figured I would give the floor time to dry as some of the grout looked uneven in color. Upon final inspection after cleaning it to remove the expected grout debri, I have noticed that there a many grout lines that are not consistent (it's a light grout against dark grey floor tile) some floor tiles are raised compared to others and you can definitely tell where the job stopped and began again. The grout around the area that was fixed still has not dried and is uneven in color (Im hoping within a few days this will dry evenly). I really wanted to be excited about this experience. I was confident that I had made a good choice in selecting a company, but unfortunately it didn't happen that way. I really anticipated to write an outstanding review because of the other reviews I read. I hate to write anything that is not 100% positive because I never want to give a company any bad feedback. Maybe my experience was just a fluke as it appears others were very satisfied with their tile work. I did not call Rick back to advise him of the 2nd final inspection, because I know there really isn't anything to be done about the uneven grout lines except to start over, and quite honestly, having a small child in the home, I need a functioning kitchen and cannot be without for a long period of time again. The initial job was said to only take 3 days to complete and it didn't work out that way unfortunately.

Rick showed up on time and cleaned up his mess and mine. The tile work was well done and incorporated nicely into the existing wall tile.
