I was very unhappy with the lack of communication from this company. Jim Alexander and Jonathan were my contacts, and both were difficult to reach. Neither one called me to give me any information - I had to call them, and often several times before reaching them. After giving me a guaranteed price, I was charged an additional $300.00 when the movers were actually there so I had no choice but to pay it. I had to make, and pay for, last-minute arrangements to get to the new location across the country. They took two weeks to come across country. While that would have been acceptable if they had kept me informed, leaving me hanging was not acceptable. They were difficult to reach and weren't well informed when I did reach them. The movers who came were dirty and left grease on my new couch, wall and a couple of other pieces. I've moved a number of times, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. Please consider NOT using these movers.
Description of Work: I moved across country and hired this company almost a month ahead of time. I was given a range of 3 days for the move, and sent an email contract stating that there would be a guaranteed rate of $1200.00 no matter what. It was in big, bold lettering on the e-contract. I wanted three pieces of furniture moved and was told that they would give me three wardrobe boxes and I would be able to pack 20 medium boxes because there is a minimum weight that I would be charged. I bought 20 boxes clearly marked "Medium" from a storage company and packed them carefully. As moving day approached, I called to find the date and was told Monday, 4/16, and told to call in the morning on that day. I called, no answer. I called four times, nobody answered. I sent an email and 20 minutes later Jonathan called and was annoyed because I called so many times. It was 12:30pm by then. He then told me that they wouldn't be there until the following day about 4pm. On Tuesday, I called about noon and was told they wouldn't be there until Wednesday about 4pm. They finally came on Wednesday afternoon, looked at what I'd packed and said it would be an additional $300.00. The man, Uri, said the boxes were heavy. Some were, but some were not heavy at all. At that point I didn't see any alternative, but to pay them. As they were leaving, Uri said: "You're going to tip the men, right?" They had my furniture on the truck already and I certainly didn't want to antagonize them. I was shocked, but gave them each $20.00. Fortunately I didn't buy a plane ticket for the day they had originally said the movers would be there. I had to pay top dollar for a ticket at the last minute and also for a limo service to get to the airport. There wasn't any choice but to wait until they had actually finished taking my furniture before making arrangements to get to the new location. When I called from the new location, I was told that the truck would be in the state on the weekend. When I called on the weekend, I was told they wouldn't be there yet, and nobody was exactly sure when they would come. They came on Wednesday, exactly two weeks after picking up my furniture. Several of the boxes were ripped and the men's hands were so greasy that there were grease stains on my couch, the wall and two other things. These were different movers from the ones who picked up the furniture. These men were very nice, but dirty. I would definitely NOT recommend this company for long-distance moves.
