Response from Above & Beyond Carpentry Inc.
This customer purchased an 8 hour handyman service deal on 11/9/2015. This project consisted of installing 3 garage HI Loft Systems and 8 Kobalt metal wall cabinets from Lowes. Prior to any specialty projects we look up the installation instructions online and discuss them and any options with the customer. Based on the size of this project and the instructions these items required 2 men for the installation. Prior to the installation date I discussed with the customer the need for the second man and the hope that between me and Mike we would be able to accomplish the job within the original time frame (4 hours). Unfortunately, because of the amount of work we ran over by 4 additional man hours (2) which we informed the customer that he would be charged at the discounted rate for a 4 hour handyman service of $250. From the time the job was completed, 11/20/2015 until now (7 months), the customer did not contact us indicating that there was a problem. Had he done so, I would’ve rectified the problem immediately. I find it unusual that the cabinet pulled away from the walls because we not only followed the instructions to a “T” by attaching the cabinet support brackets to the studs as required but as an added measure we attached the cabinets to each other for additional support. So if the cabinets did pull away from the wall it would’ve been because the customer disconnected them, moved them or severely exceeded the weight limit. I stand behind all the work we do, if there is any problem whatsoever then I want the customer to call me. I reached out to the customer and I’m waiting to see if he wants me to rectify the problem even though the time far exceeds my normal garrantees.
