Very impressed with the quick responses Patrick provided to all emails while setting up the job. He delivered exactly what he proposed: two men to power wash the house on one day, followed by a team of 9 to 10 painters, including Patrick to completely scrape, sand, prime and finish (one coat) in one day. He was actually able to do the work a week or two earlier than expected. He specified Duration by Sherwin Williams and delivered a fine job. Patrick was supervising and painting all day, and monitored his team. The team did a fine job of clean up. We considered the price to be a good value. The work is guaranteed for three years. I expect it will last longer, but in case there is an issue, I know Patrick will take care of any problems.

With a rainy summer upon us, Pat's group still showed up on one of the two possible initial dates to prep the house. We had to let the house dry out after a weekend of rain, but by end of Monday, the house is complete and it looks beautiful. We did not want this paint job to go into August and Whelehan Painting delivered. They always kept us informed of when there might be a slight delay and they made whatever small inconvenience in time worth our while. Pat's confidence in his work and no-payment-until-you're-completely-satisfied policy was refreshing!

Went very well. Room had been previously stained and when I tried to restain I had a lot of problems. MinWax told me to wipe it down with paint thinner. When I did it ruined the wood and stain. Pat came in and rubbed the walls; put 2 coats of oil based primer to seal the satin oils, and then painted with 2 coats of latex paint. The crew was on time and did excellent job of protecting my properties. I am totally satisfied with Pat and his work.

We ended up one of our family friends did most of jobs for us, because my husband insisted. Oh well... Anyway, I think the quote from Patrick is very attractive, he told me how many people would get on the jobs, how to arrange his staff, and how many days would take. How his schedule looked like, and he even told me the techniques he uses to peel off the wallpaper, and how to protect the furniture and rugs when peeling off the wallpaper. His staff can take care of anything, I don't need to worry about anything - I even don't need to take off the electrical plates - they can do it. I feel I trusted them, even though they didn't do the work for us. And I would like to recommend them to others - the price is very good (I compared 3 contracts, it turned out they are the best), the work they would provide seems very professional. Be honest, our friend didn't paint the foyer and nursing room, my husband has to do himself, and we have to buy the paint ourselves, material not included at all. So the overall price from our friend is similar to what Patrick provided me. I should have asked Patrick to do the job, at the first place, though. -Canny

We always hire Whelehan Painting because, quite simply, they are do an excellent job. In addition, the entire staff is friendly and polite. Pat (Whelehan) is extremely fair and easy to work with and I value his recommendations. He has been very flexible and considerate of our schedule. We will continue to use Whelehan Painting in the future.

They were very fast but I was not happy with the work. There were several people painting so it was done in a day but some of the painters could not paint a neat line around the trim. They rolled such a thin coat over textured siding that it was not completely covered in spots and every nail hole showed the previous house color. One section blistered and peeled within days. I had so much trouble getting in touch with Pat and getting him to come look at it that I scraped, primed and painted that area myself. Over the winter two fairly large areas peeled. We contacted Pat early in the spring and he said that he would come back and fix it in May. After contacting him a couple of more times he said he would be there this week. He said he would prime the areas first with a special primer and then repaint the whole row of boards so it would not be obvious where it was repainted.Today, July 3 someone else came over and scraped and painted-there was no priming and now that the paint has dried it stands out where the paint had peeled. I called Pat and told him that his employee had not done what was promised. Pat tried to tell me that he knows more about painting than I do but I have worked as a sales rep for a paint company, have done a lot of painting both interior and exterior and I know a poor job when I see one. Pat did say he would come over and redo it but sounded so angry about it I really don't want to deal with him anymore.

Decided to go with Pat for 2 reasons, all of the great reviews on Angies List, and his estimate was the lowest one we had gotten (by over $1,000!). Excellent communication, always showed up when he said they would. Started promptly at 8:00 am, and had the job completed in 2 days! Great guys, very accommodating and friendly. Can't thank them enough! I have already referred them to my Father for an interior paint job.

Pat provided a written estimate that was highly competitive, but what really interested us was the fact that he would bring a crew more than twice as large as his competition. His estimate for the whole house with 2 coats of stain and 3 coats of paint on the trim was only 1.5 days. We originally were skeptical but because of his positive reviews on Angies list and his "pay when you are satisfied payment terms" we went ahead and hired him. Pat was very professional and stayed in touch with us regarding re-scheduling due to weather concerns. As promised, Pat showed up with a team of 9 painters and in less than 2 days our home was transformed. In fact, during the painting, one of our neighbors hired Pat to do a minor touch up for them, which was completed before they left my house. There was a little bit of overspray on the roof shingles and some light overspray on some of our deck furniture, but it should all be cleanable. During the final walkthrough, a few minor points were noticed and Pats crew took the equipment back off the truck and fixed every little thing that was noticed. Pat also gave us great advise for some other projects that we are tackling ourselves. We are likely to use Pat again for our painting needs.

Way overpriced-only wanted an estimate for outside trim in front. Other estimates we received were between 400 and 500.

When Pat told me he was going to have our entire home completed in 2-3 days, I didn't believe him. He was right, and he didn't sacrifice any quality. He brought a team of 10 guys and all 10 were very resoectful and professional. it was wonderful to have the job completed in a matter of days. We didn't have our home taken over for a week or more (huge plus to hiring this team).They cleaned up each day and never left a mess. Pat always stayed in contact and notified me of the progress on the home. He was there everyday working on the job and managing the project. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the work. I would absolutely use them again for any paint job (interior or exterior).

Patrick Whelehan was the most reliable contractor that we have ever hired. Our house looks awesome - a complete change! We are thrilled. Patrick was incredibly responsive and was in touch from start to finish. He and his crew always arrived when they said they would and continued to come back until the job was done. We live in Penfield and he traveled all the way from Hilton. Additionally, his price was the best around. We had four other estimates and Patrick's quote was unbelievably less. Also, his quote included removing semi-circle styles above our front windows. Patrick thought he'd be able to complete this work but it turned out a carpenter was needed and cedar needed to be replaced. He handled hiring a carpenter and paid the carpenter (no additional expense - he stayed true to his quote). He also volunteered to hang our new shutters (prior to the house getting painted our house had no shutters) with NO CHARGE. He and his crew are awesome. I would hire them again without a doubt - I am hoping to get interior work done this winter. Thank you to Patrick and his crew!!

From the first time Pat Whelehan came to give the estimate I could tell that he was the contractor I was going with. He showed up on time for the estimate gave me all the details as to what he would provide. On the day he started the project Pat and his helper Ryan showed up 15 minutes early, and wasted no time getting started. They finished the first project on time as stated.From start to finish they were very professional and very neat.. They impressed myself and my wife so much that we decided to hire them a second time to paint the kitchen and living room. And true to form they showed up on time and wasted no time getting started. This time we had two of Pat's employee's Michael and Adam and they were very professional and a pleasure to interact with. They compleated the project to our sastification and left no mess behind. From begining to end of these two projects Pat and his employees showed nothing but professionalism. They are one H*** OF A PAINTING COMPANY.

Great job. I found Pat Whelehan's number in the local paper (maybe the Suburban News). Seemed like they had been around for a while. I had a few other quotes from other painters. Thought the price was reasonable and I wanted to hire someone based on the west-side. Overall, I was very pleased with the job performed. Pat and his crew power-washed (and sanded a little) prior to painting. I would definitely recommend and would hire again in the future.

two painters arrived at 8am and worked until job completed. Both guys were highly skilled and very personable.

They prepped the walls, and spackled imperfections before painting. Did a great job and did it all in a timely fashion. My only knock would be that the cleanup was less than complete. I would like to see the guys invest in a shop vac for a more professional cleanup. Would hire again.

He was very pleasant and the estimate was fair. We didn't want our house to be sprayed, so we made a different choice.

Pat and his crew did a great job - they completed 6 rooms in 2 days with a crew of 5. Overall, I was very satisfied with the results. They were friendly, and most of all, clean! I just had brand new cabinets installed in the kitchen and new hardwoods in the dining room and there were no problems - no stray paint drops, etc. Regarding price, Pat was fair - his estimate was the best of the 3 that I received.

Spoke with Pat about painting our great room walls and ceiling. He gave me a very fair price. I was hoping to get things painted before Christmas and he was able to fit me in. Pat purchased the ceiling and wall paint and told me he and his crew would arrive on Monday morning around 8:00 AM. Everyone was on-time and ready to work. They moved furniture out of the family room, covered what they couldn't move and began work. Due to their efficient work they we able to not only pain the family room, but also the second floor hallway and foyer ceilings. Pat and his team did an excellent job. The rooms look fantastic! I was impressed not only by the quality of their work, but also their professionalism and hard work. My wife and I considered painting the room ourselves, but decided to hire someone because of the high ceilings. What would have taken us weeks to finish, Whelehan completed in one day. Now that the holidays are over, we plan on calling Pat back. They did such a tremendous job at such a reasonable price that we're looking at more rooms to paint! A+ service

Very well. He was very responsive to my request and took on my job within a week or so of calling him. I noticed a few small problems when I went to pick them up and he fixed them on the spot. They came out very smooth with only a few minor blemishes. Pat gave me extra paint and instructions on how to fix any problems I found. He also offered to fix any problems himself. He found that we left one of the pieces at his house and personally delivered it to my home. I found Pat to be very courteous and easy to work with.

We appreciate and are thankful for the services rendered by Pat and the Whelehan Painting staff to the exterior of our cedar wood home. I was very impressed with Patrick Whelehan from the first time I met him when he came over to give me an estimate. I thought he was very nice, professional, and punctual. I hired him and was not disappointed! He and his guys did an excellent job and at a very fair price. I was thrilled with the beautiful job they did even recommending someone to come out to replace some rotting wood that I had and then followed up after completion in a timely manner to touch up where the wood had been replaced . I would highly recommend them to everyone!

The painting crew, led by the father of the owner, arrived promptly at 8 AM and immediately set to to work. At first they thought the job might take a day and a half, but when I expressed some disappointment at having to take another half day off work, it seemed like they were extra motivated and completed the job in 8 hours, which was really a break for me. They were friendly and professional and didn't mind that our two German Shepherds wandered among them for a little while, even when one of them knocked over some paint. They did an excellent job, exceeding their estimated work. They estimated 2 coats, but delivered three. They added a poly coat to some additional surfaces beyond their original estimate at no additional cost. They treated all of our property with respect and left no mess at all. They were quiet and polite and played their music at a low volume. When they were finished, they meticulously inspected every facet of their work and made some minor improvements, such as filling in nail holes. I was impressed at how they seemed to work as a well-oiled machine and were very efficient, which probably enabled the job to be completed ahead of schedule. I would use them again and I plan to in July, to paint a bathroom. I thought that the value of their service was excellent as well; they included all materials, the labor of 4 painters for a day, and sales tax. I would recommend them highly.
