Major Homes was easy to deal with, responsive, honest in what they would and could do. Everyone we dealt with was nice and professional. Any glitches (and there are always some) were dealt with fairly.

As in the past, the owner, Mitch, answers an e/mail like lightning...I kid you not. Since I was so satisfied with past work, I will only use them. The work was neat and professional and the workers very polite. They have been in business for 100 years (family) and they will be there for the long haul...so I feel very secure knowing that. That is rare these days. I myself am very fussy and so it is comforting to me to know that Mitch the owner, will respond within like 5 min. Please consider them for all your home improvement needs. Russ was the manager overseeing this, has been with them for years and is a gentleman...very responsive to voice mail.

When my wife and I were deciding to get our windows done we went with what we saw on the television. Anderson. So we called. Several days later, a rep from Anderson showed up. He was pleasant. Knew what he was talking about. Answered our questions. Even showed us the heat lamp pitch. This is where the sales person puts a demo window on the table and then proceeds to take out a heat lamp, 300 degrees, to demonstrate how heat will not enter or escape via the window. But there was something missing. We felt like he was just doing his job. For the amount of money we were going to spend, we just wanted some sort of connection between the rep, who we would never see again if we wrote a check for the windows, the installers, who the rep didn’t know, and the owners of Anderson, who we were sure the rep never met. In the end, we declined. Enter… Major Homes. Looked at the reviews on Angie’s list. Perfect. Family owned business. Even better. Gave them a call. A rep from Major Homes, John, showed and we were sold. He spoke about the windows with great knowledge. Just like Anderson. But there was an obvious connection between him and Major Homes. First off, he had a great hand shake. That may not sound important, but a hand shake can tell you a lot about someone’s worth. He spoke about the installers. These were the people who were going to be in my home. Strangers. Who were these people who would be removing and installing 22 windows? Can they be trusted? Would I have a mess? And all the other questions that come with strangers in one’s home. John knew them! John also knew the owners. Spoke of them by first name. He also spoke with pride in the product that he was selling. Can’t ask for more than that! Six weeks later the windows arrived. The installers were outstanding! Trustworthy. Neat. Polite. Professional. Experienced. The work went smoothly! To be honest, my nervousness about purchasing windows, installation, workers, and more were all for nothing. Major Homes took care of everything! Couldn’t be happier! Thanks!

Went to Major Homes office to speak to Mitch (the Boss). He wasn't in so the very attentive receptionist took our info and later Mitch called. Told him about me thinking that we had a warm stretch in December, we needed a new roof exhaust fan we should get it done. I had Major do my roof after Sandy and they did a magnificent job. Well anyway, Mitch just told me he'll send a crew over to check it out. They came, they fixed, they left. No charge. That's what's cool about doing business with honest people. Thanks Mitch !

He was adamant that it was only his way and that was it with no other options wanted the entire roof ripped up and replaced with only a part of the roof that has the leak.

939 Gerry Avenue Lido Beach, NY 11561 April 25th 2018 To whom it may concern, As an executive in the building materials business selling hundreds of companies for over 45 years, I knew Major Homes as a former customer of mine and was very impressed with how they ran the business for over 3 generations. So, when Hurricane Sandy destroyed the lower level of my home I turned to Major Homes to rebuild my home. To say the least, it was an extremely difficult project because of the complete flooding of the entire level of the home. To make it more challenging, I had to remain in my home during the project and had an immense amount of documentation required as well as the challenge to get my insurance proceeds. The awesome handling of the project was beyond description with an incomparable project manager and the most professional and courteous sub-contractors. Each person from Major Homes acted more like a relative than a worker. They were faultlessly clean and quiet and left the premises each day extremely clean with no debris or dust laying around. The job was also started and completed in exactly the time they estimated and the work was perfect. To wit, I had my own painter come in to paint the and he commented that he never saw a job done so well and left in such a perfect ready to paint condition. Of special note is how the owner, Mitch Kersch, is available 7 days a week for any calls and/or e-mails. I only had to call him to compliment his people and he answered his phone and quickly responded to all his e- mails. However, that is not really why I am taking the time out to write this review. Again, as a former executive that built two major companies, as a sales representative and as a consultant in the industry, I have seen so many companies and so many projects in my career. I can also look back at the jobs at my neighbor’s/friend’s homes and heard them complain about their projects. Then I think about my home and project and marvel at how well everything has lasted and been so durable. I have had no call-back issues, no product failure, no dissatisfaction with anything done and only good memories…after a horrific event. I just feel this needs to be said and Major Homes needs to get the kudos fo a fantastic company that has taken care of their business for three generations and thousands of customers…like me! Job went very well; punctual, professional, receptive....beautiful doors. Jason is nothing less than terrific. He always calls back in a timely fashion. He is honest & ethical and delivers all as promised-he truly goes the distance & more in customer service. It is my pleasure to highly recommend Major Homes.

They offered to come over and do the services free of charge and came the very next day. They were polite, professional, timely, and the products that were used were of high grade not lower grade.

On February 2 they sent me a message saying someone would call me on Monday the 5th to get started with the project. As of today, February 10, no one has called or otherwise contacted me. Very unprofessional.

An update to a review I wrote a few months ago regarding work Major Homes had done for me and a future project I planned to have them do. A short summary of that project: another job well done by Major Homes and their crew. Recently I re-sided my dormer. As always, Major Homes completed the job as scheduled; their crew was courteous and attentive; they totally cleaned up afterwards. The new siding and trim look great! It matches perfectly to the older siding and trim on my house. While this job was being done, the owner of Major Homes, Mitch Kersch, although contenting with difficult family issues, took time to call and check how the work was going. Not surprising. During my 28 year relationship with Major Homes I’ve found Mitch and his staff to be consummate professionals. I could reach out to them at anytime, via email or phone, it could be a weekend or they could be away on vacation, I always get a prompt reply from Mitch or his son, Jason. If you’re looking for a contractor who’s interesting in building a long term relationship, not just in making a quick buck and moving on, I strongly suggest you consider Major Homes for your next project.

I was looking for a contractor to re-install gable vents that had been taken off some years ago by another contractor at the time of siding installation. Mitch from Major Homes responded to my message very promptly, and while declining to take on the project (they had other projects lined up for many months), still offered to come by and take a look. He had his men come by to assess my roof - it was probably one of the coldest days of the year. He also came by twice himself, to explain to me the potential problems and the options that I had in terms of roof venting. I really appreciated his kindness because he took time out from his busy schedule just to help. He was also very knowledgeable and professional - really responsive and punctual with his responses and appointments. I could see that he takes a lot of pride in his multi-generational business, and why he is successful.

I met with them after seeing several other siding contractors and was very pleased with the way Jason presented himself and their company. I decided to hire them and they did a great job. The workers were professional and had a good work ethic. The job was done on time and we are very happy with the way our home looks. It's like a brand new house. I would definitely recommend major homes to anyone looking for a great siding contractor.

Fantastic! Our newly sided house looks wonderful. Colorful. Jason spent at least half of a day determining the correct materials as well as the most eye appealing color schemes for the siding. He has many years of experience (in his young age) that helped us decide the type of siding and the color schemata that would adorn our home. He is a patient man and his input paid off. The supervisor of the project, Al was equally a boon to this project. We travel a lot and we needed someone to oversee that all the correct material was available when we said we want the project to commence. He obliged. If there was any issues, such as add-ons or temporary glitches he addressed them right away. When necessary, Al communicated with the home office thus insuring that the project ran smoothly and timely. He is easy to reach via phone and always responded to our questions. Although he supervised the work crew, the work crew knew what to do. Ramon was their crew foreman. He is personable and even improvised solutions so that the work progressed smoothly. The workers, which included Ramon work incredibly hard. They are all diligent and show up to work earlier than the agreed upon time, finishing when dusk was almost falling (mid-September). We will continue to use Major Homes as we have other projects on the horizon. Our only regret is that we won’t be using Al, Ramon and the other workers as their specialty is siding. But we know we can use Jason again.

Fast forward, problem was fixed that day. And the point is, Major Homes came through for us yet again. This had nothing to do with money or cost. They made nothing by taking my call. What they proved yet again is Major Homes builds long term relationship that are trusted. That is something you cannot put a price on.

Excellent. Very professional. Sales person spent 3 hours discussing what I needed, the quality of the items I was choosing and all my options. Once they came to work the men on site were neat and clean. Arrived early and worked late and cleaned up and the end of each day. Job was done very efficiently. It's beautiful and I was extremely pleased.

Very happy with the (OKNA) windows. They are excellent quality, energy efficient and look good. All contacts with this company were handled by them in a professional, courteous and effective manner, from the initial contact, to John who did the estimate, to Russ who measured the windows, to Gus and his uncle (I forgot his name) who did the installation. The price was very fair. I will probably use them again in the near future. Highly recommended.

They did a lot of work for me. They did my windows, they've done several things. Excellent job, excellent. They came, did and they left. They cleaned up after themselves. They were here every day until they finished the job. They were great. They were responsive. You call them up, they take your call and they take care of it. The people are so nice, they're just easy breezy. They're honest. I would definitely go with them again. They were excellent with the price because I did check two bidders.

It was about 13 windows on the first floor and 11 upstairs on the second floor. They were great. I had no problem with them. One day they came in and did all the windows. The guys were professional and nice. They were good on the price.

The job was completed. There was lack in communication between the project manager and contractor. I was told it would be complete in 4 day which ended up being 10 days because of inconstancy between of work time. The workers were professional and always on time but there was lack of work because of the contractor and project manager communication. I did have the electrician come back 3 times to correct his work. I felt I knew more about being a electrician then him.

Job went smoothly, windows look great.

It was the best company that i have used they did a great job. The Guy that put in the windows was a really nice guy and the guys that put on the siding went over and above there job staying late every day and working in the rain. Could not ask any more from a company then that.

Major homes dispatch the team who evaluated the situation to find that there was a sealant failure on the outside second-story window. They resealed the window and all joints in the area, inspected all sealant on the second floor and we haven’t had a problem since.

Used them for siding and roofing several years earlier. Owner responded to my request to have the roof inspected on a weekend and promptly sent out a crew. Turned out that the silicone had split around window and needed to be resealed....water leak resolved and NO CHARGE from the company. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have work done on their house. The owner and company went above and beyond to resolve my issue even though it was not a workmanship issue.

My experience with Major Homes Corp was great from start to finish. As a smart home owner should do, I had 4 roofing estimates from different accredited contractors before choosing Major Homes. From the beginning Carl made me feel like family, it didn't feel like a business deal or sales pitch. He was very knowledgeable on the product that was being used and explained the whole process from start to finish. Even when I had my chimney rebuild by a different contractor the weekend before Major Homes started my roof and the mason didn't copper flash around the chimney, I gave Al a call who accommodated me with no problem. Al gave me a call the day before they started and even stopped to meet me and to check to make sure the entire job was done correctly and that I was satisfied. Overall I was more then satisfied with the work that was done, will recommend and plan to have Major Homes come back to do future work for me.

The company is not the company we've done business with in the past. This time, Mitch, the owner, gave us to a subordinate...a sales guy we weren't familiar with, Bob. Bob wasn't available for a little over a week to see us and give us an estimate. That's fine, we scheduled. All three other companies I contacted gave me estimates in 2-3 days. Again, this is Major Homes, so waiting is not a problem...they used to be 100% reliable and even though the price was higher, the work would be excellent. I had originally written an email to Mitch describing our projects, which included new basement and deck external doors, two basement windows, a new kitchen and new master bathroom. I said we needed the jobs to be completed by early October because we have a lot of activity in the home, otherwise it might have to wait until the Spring. Once Bob contacted me two days later - yes, it took that long to get a return call - the first thing he told me was, "Mr. Seltzer, as for your time frame for this....NOT GONNA HAPPEN!" Uh... I was stunned. Even if they couldn't schedule it, holy cow! That's how you speak to a repeat customer? He went on to insist that my WIFE be present, as he prefers it that way. My wife heard this portion of the call. She looked at me and said, "WHAT?" We were...skeptical at this point, but I said...it's Major Homes, let's make the appointment. So, Bob's first available appointment was about a week and a half later. No problem... annoying, but not a problem. He said he would be bringing a kitchen designer with him. I thought that was great. Ok. Fast forward to the day of. No confirmations, no calls, nothing. Thursday comes, I'm here. I was about to call them... but they said they would show-up between 12 and 12:30. So what happened? Bob called my cell phone - a 917 number - and, I guess...assumed it was my land line? Uhm...no... but whatever... he called and left a message at 11:28am informing me that he had "no way to confirm this appointment" and that I "must get back to him immediately." Again, what the heck is this? Some kind of job interview for me???? I called him back on his cell. I didn't get this message until 12:08pm. I cleared a solid 3 hours just in case - 12-3 - just for this appointment. He tells me, "Mr. Seltzer. You DID NOT CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT. I've MOVED ON." So, I was quite upset at this point. I said that I had been there all morning. I asked why he hadn't confirmed the day before, or let me know that there was this confirmation requirement for the appointment. He said it was MY fault. This guy...is a horrible salesperson. I told him I'd be contacting Mitch about this immediately, and that in 17 years, I've never been treated this way by Major Homes. I called the office, got Margaret on the phone..explained what happened, she transferred me to Mitch, who put me on speaker phone and said he and Bob were there. I began to explain, he cut me right off and told me that "WE" left you two messages... and immediately cut him off and said, no way...there's no message on my landline, and only on the cell, and he wouldn't let me finish, so I just pushed through and told him that I've been bullied from the start. Wow... awful. Mitch basically strongly stood up for Bob's completely unprofessional behavior, attempted to 'manage' me, and lost a customer forever. He's never acted this way before, so...I have no clue why he would do this, who or what Bob is to the company, or why this is the new normal for Major Homes. So... what do you all think? Is this how you'd like to be treated? No, this is not a review of the company's job. It's me telling all of you how I was just treated, as a repeat customer of a company I thought was the BEST in construction in Queens. Based on this experience, I will never use, nor recommend them again. I have referred dozens of people to the company in the past. Most folks who know them thought they were expensive, but did a good job. That was my experience...about 30% above others. I like things done right, and a company to back up its work. That's what they used to do. Because of this salesperson, Bob, I cannot say that anymore. I felt threatened, bullied, and mistreated. It's unacceptable. Keep that in mind when looking for a general contractor. They easily lost a $30-$60,000 job. And they worked hard to lose it. Unreal.
