Roadway Moving

Description of Work: I used Roadway to move from my apartment to my new home.

Description of Work: While the correspondence with the representative was detailed + prompt in both phone and email form, the offer amounted to a classic "bait and switch" scheme where the initial low price is just a set-up for more costly services. Understandable that moving services in the city can be costly, but quotes for almost 1K to move a handful of items (not an apartment or studio but a couple of pieces of furniture) three blocks felt excessive. This was of course for prime time moving days like Friday and Saturday, but alternate choices were equally expensive (middle of the month on a Tuesday). I felt like they were just trying to gauge me for service and time that I would not need.

Description of Work: Roadway World Wide Movers packed up our apartment and moved it cross country to Texas. They arrived early, were completely professional and courteous. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Moved from Morris County, NJ to Maricopa County, AZ |Prior to movers coming, in my confirmation call with Customer Service & reviewing my items, I advised that I ordered 4 wardrobe boxes at a cost of $80.00, the customer service person advised that was strange because I should receive 3 wardrobe boxes free at no additional charge. He said he would check with Sales and get back to me: he never called back at all. The movers were Punctual and on time of pick-up, though had a small disagreement with mover as they originally didn't want to take glass doors off cabinets and wrap individually as promised by the sales person, eventually they agreed to do it, but caused unnecessary tension. The delivery was more confusing, they advised they were very busy and could the deliver on July 4th, should have been delivered week of 6/23, told them 7/4 was unacceptable and they advised my new delivery window was 7/5 to 7/9. Then out of the clear blue, driver calls on 6/28 to advise they will be delivering on Sunday 6/29. The short notice created a minor inconvenience and had to change my Sunday plans. My moving items were effeciently unloaded and all items needing to be reassembled were done promptly and correctly. Due to the short notice, didn't have time get a certified check, used a credit card and was told there would be a 3.25% additional charge, told the driver that was unacceptable, he called his office, they agreed and waived the additional fee. They took their blankets back, but when asked to take their boxes used to wrap mirrors, pictures and TV, advised they don't take trash. Overall experience met my expectation, they were courteous, and conscious to not scratch the hardwood floors and didn't use a hand trolley inside the house.

Description of Work: Moved Two Storage Rooms of goods to our new, 3rd Floor Apartment. Everything went fine and within time frame.

Description of Work: Showed up as promised. Packed and moved belongings from East Coast to Ohio. Nothing was lost or broken. Delivered as promised on date promised. All personnel were polite and professional. Charged me the rate specified. This is an independently owned company -- I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: It went very well, with great care over fixing the issue of hidden fees. To note, you want to make sure that the deal does not include tolls on the way to your location, or tolls on the departure from your location. I thought tolls only meant in between my two locations. But I insisted that they not charge me for that, and they complied. |

Description of Work: The move went well, and the workers were extremely nice and polite. They were however, likely new to being movers and it felt like they were in a huge rush. I would have preferred boxes being better marked. However, nothing broken, move got made as promised.

Description of Work: Long pedantic initial conversation. Frequent follow-up conversations. Overcharging for boxes. Movers insisted on payment upfront, contrary to agreement. The service itself was professionally rendered, but the price was excessive-this was a studio to a one bedroom apartment move.

Description of Work: They moved our belongings from 1br to a 2br, both units are in Harlem. They arrived 45 minutes early and completed in about 4 1/2 hours. Everything was intact. They wrapped all of our furniture. When we got to our new apartment they even held up heavier pieces so I could put furniture sliders on the feet.

Description of Work: We moved from a 4br/3ba town home in Jersey City to a 6br/4ba house in Bridgewater. It was pouring on the day we moved. The guys showed up on time, worked hard, lifted/moved all items with easy. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, and could not move around much. The guys catered to whatever help with last minute packing/organizing we needed, and were extremely professional/courteous/considerate (especially given the awful weather for moving). When we arrived at the destination, they were fast and careful with unloading, helped clean up throughout the process, and placed things exactly where I asked for them to go. I have moved many times before, and this was the best experience I have had with any moving company. The initial coordinator that scheduled the move for us was a bit pushy when selling us the very reasonable quote, so we were a little skeptical of what we were getting into. But after the experience, I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.
