Roadway Moving

Move went very well. Jose, John & Luis were the best. Arrived on time. Courteous & very efficient. When they took down a big pieces of furniture, I was quickly dusting. They moved our monster big tv, without complaint. Arrived at the coop. They walked 3 bookcases (over 7 feet by 4 feet each) up to our 5th floor coop. I only have great things to say about our moving team.

We had to have some furniture moved so I looked on Angies List and found a moving company that was recommended, Roadway moving. I called them and set up a time for them to discuss the move with my wife who organized the move with Roadway. They were very professional, courteous and prompt. They were here when they said they would be. They did not scratch or hurt any of our belongings nor hurt the walls in the apartment. The move went so smoothly that they were finished about 45 minutes earlier than they estimated. If we need to move anything again, we will definitely call Roadway.

Roadway was incredible. Not only was Jose and his team on time, they were early! The move was efficient, the guys worked the whole time, they did not drag out the number of hours, and my possessions arrived intact. I would most definitely use them again.

i bought the deal because we were planing to move-but things got changed and we don't need to use there services anymore. my experience so far with the customer service of roadway moving was great since i never used them so don't know how they work but i am sure they will work good too if we use them.

I was looking for a moving company for a short move within Manhattan. I initially contacted Roadway and worked with Mike and Joseph to get an initial estimate and a walk-through of the process. After getting other estimates elsewhere, Roadway was by far the most reasonable, so we decided to go ahead and purchase the $279 Angies List coupon and go with them. A few days prior to the move, I received a call for pick-up confirmation and the staff was extremely helpful in setting up and confirming the insurance requirements for both my old place and new place. On the day of the move, the moving crew showed up exactly on time, and with four people instead of three which turned out to be a great help. Given that we had more belongings than indicated in the initial estimate (my only suggestion for Roadway would be to consider doing on-site estimations where possible), the crew moved quickly and had everything packed in the truck within 2-3 hours. They even helped pack up a few last minute things and provided an extra box at no charge. They were very careful with our belongings and wrapped up all the furniture for protection. At the new apartment, the crew was again very efficient in unpacking everything even though they had to deal with a long walk to the service entrance and from there another long walk to the elevator. The fourth man helped turn the job into only 6 hours overall when otherwise they might have been working much longer, so this saved some time and money. Overall, I'm very pleased with Roadway, the whole experience was relatively painless (moving is always a pain) and the staff and moving crew were all very professional. Another big plus is you can't beat their rates - even though the job went well beyond the coupon time, the total ended up being well below quotes from other moving companies. Highly recommended, would use again.

Working with Roadway went extremely well. The movers worked efficiently and actively communicated with me throughout the process to ensure things were done according to my expectations. They also sought to minimize any overage costs with regard to time used. For example, they asked if I wanted to finish putting together my computer desk (a very simple procedure) or have them do it, which would have only required 15 minutes or so but would have kept them from finishing faster. At $120/hr extra I appreciated their effort to find ways to reduce the time I needed to have them working. The movers also packed everything safely and no items were damaged during the move. I would highly recommend them to anybody moving in the NYC area.

Some of it was done by us and some of it was done by them. They provided a good service and they responded on time. They were very courteous.

I contacted Ken Chen at Roadway Moving to arrange a move in two or three weeks time. He returned my call quickly and explained how the Angie's List coupon works and the pricing policy. The date of the move was set and the contracts emailed to me. I received a time for the movers to arrive and they checked my information. Ken Chen was very professional and took the time to explain all the details and answer all my questions. I felt very comfortable with the professionalism of the company. The day before the move I received a confirmation and my information checked again. On the day of the move I received a call to let me know they were on the way. When the movers showed up they were on-time, friendly, courteous, and very professional. The contracts were explained again and the pricing policy and insurance forms were explained and filled out. The men went straight to work and they took such care with the items it was like they were moving their own furniture. In no time at all they were loaded up and on their way to the new place. When we got to the new place it started to snow and the crew took extra care to make sure there was no damage to either the furniture or the apartment. They placed the furniture where it belongs and cleaned up before they left. There were no surprises and no damage. I have used moving companies before and have never had such a wonderful experience. If I need another move I will definitely call Roadway Moving, they are great. I highly recommend them for your moves.

We were very impressed by the service of the three gentlemen that arrived ten minutes earlier than scheduled. They were all very courteous and polite. Everything they did was with care consideration to our needs. Even helped us pack the last minute things that we didn't have time to pack. We could not believe that they cleaned out our old apartment and loaded them on the truck in less than an hour. Overall it was the work that the men did that impressed us the most. They were so kind and polite. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. Just have to get past the surly phone salesmen that pressure you. But it's all about the service in the end.

I highly recommend them because of their professionalism. Nothing broke during our move and no hidden fees were assessed the day of the move. A++

I hired Roadway Moving to bring items I had in a storage unit back to my house to the basement. They were punctual however the moving crew's representative (Alex) was rude and tried to add additional fees throughout the job. I was told originally when I called that the Angie's list coupon was $279 for 2 hours of labor and 1 hour of travel. I spoke with the Person (Anthony) on the phone and after telling him what I had to move he said yes and additional hours are $105 per hour but we shouldn't need it. I said ok. When he sent the contract it stated $150/hour with a minimum of 3 hours labor and 1 hour travel. I had them change the minimum 3 hours of labor after a bit of a debate since what is in the contract is what controls in court. We changed it and he indicated it was $150/hour since it would be after the 25th of the month. That was not discussed previously but I agreed. It was not easy getting confirmation for the start time of the move. The dispatcher did not call and it was not until Sunday afternoon before I was confirmed for the Monday morning at 9AM. I was told I would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrive. I was called 1 hour before and they said we are 1 hour away. So I said ok then I got a call 25 minutes later saying we are 10 minutes away. So now I had to rush. I got there and the crew leader (Alex) started with a "you have more stuff then they said so it will take longer" I said I told them what I have and they gave me an estimate. Alex said "I should have known to request an onsite estimate"??? So after much debate (and a call to the office - where I spoke with Chakira who was very nice and assured me we would get this done as promised) I said ok just move it and we will see where the time ends. They proceeded to pack up stuff that was loose into their boxes and I asked why as it was moved here like that with another moveing company. Alex told me it was not professional and he would not charge me for the boxes. I said fine but no surprises! They started work and worked fast and hard. The driver drove very slow which made me think they were padding the time but I did not say anything. Once we arrived at the house the items were unloaded and they finished in the 3 hours (not 2) as estimated but then Alex said I have to charge you for an additional 30 minutes to complete the contract. I said I am not paying for administrative time. This was after several disagreements. So I called the office again and Chakira reached the dispatcher and they agreed that they would not charge for administrative time just for the labor time and travel. Alex then told me how hard they worked to get the job done and that nothing was damaged and that I should not have called the office. I said I don't disagree with you working hard but that is your job AND the reason I pay you is so nothing is damaged. That should not be a plus it is expected. I called the office to avoid additional arguments and I wanted to call when they had finished work not after arguing for 30 minutes and then being charged because I could not prove they finished the work at 12:30 instead of 1:00 like Alex wanted to say. Alex also stated I will not charge you for the boxes I used. I said I know because I told you I would not pay for something you did not need to pack. So after all they charged me for the extra hour and travel and tolls. I think the work was satisfactory however the attitude and professionalism was lacking in their crew leader Alex and therefore I would not use them again. If I did not fight them every step of the way they would have tried to charge me for additional time, boxes and labor. UPDATE: After speaking with the office Chakira (customer service representative) reached out to me a few days after the move was completed and apologized for the terrible service I received. After our conversation she called me back and stated they would refund the $180.00 overage since I was totally unhappy with the service received. They REFUNDED the $180.00 charge so my total move fee was just the $279 Angie's list deal. I have to say Roadway "righted the wrong". I would use them again but request a different crew. The office was very customer service oriented. Chakira was very responsive and did not leave any stone unturned when it came to making me feel like a customer. Maybe a bit more training for the crew leaders on the move team but the inside office understands customer service.

Leading up to the date of the move the customer service team was very responsive and knowledgeable. On the day of the move the guys actually showed a little earlier than scheduled and started working right away while the forman went over the paperwork with me. I liked that there was no wasting time. Upon loading the truck they headed for the new house and I met them there as they were wrapping up the unloading of the truck. All together the job took 2 hours which was far less than I expected it to be. I would gladly use them again, and am seriously considering hiring them to move my fiance's apartment when the time comes.

They moved fast and carefully, and did a fantastic job. The salesperson who came over to provide an estimate was very nice, honest and responsive to my emails and calls. He provided an upfront guaranteed estimate based on what he saw in my apt and said that even if the movers went over that time, we wouldn't be charged. When the movers arrived, they said that was a very unusual way to do things and had to call the office to confirm. All was fine in the end, but there was a disconnect, so make sure you have documentation of your agreement on hand. Movers were very nice and got the job done fast. I'd recommend them to anyone with the angie's list discount i snagged it was well worth while

They sent me a rather high estimate based on a really short list of furniture - so I was concerned that the final bill was going to be way more that I had counted on and I would have little control over that. My particular job was more appropriate for one guy and a truck or u-haul.

Three young men, led by an extremely professional and kind young man who I called Joselito, carried out the move. They consulted with me every step of the way. When the time required to execute the move exceeded the initial estimate, they informed their office immediately, who called and asked me if I wanted them to proceed. It was all done in a very professional and courteous manner. I highly recommend them.

Ross (the owner) was extremely responsive when I emailed him last minute, and was able to put together a crew and a truck for our move. I was given a call first thing in the morning, and Mike the representative was very accommodating. The crew(led by Robert) was extremely professional, very friendly, and seemed like they went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of, and everyone was happy. I would say, the most important thing that this company provides, is excellent customer support and the ability to be transparent and honest. Ross told me that the written estimate that was provided was the price, and even though they did a little bit of extra work, he stuck to his word. I have used multiple moving companies in the past, and after their multiple attempts to nickel and dime the customers, I have been constantly looking for a wonderful moving company. This is it, no need to look any further.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they were great. They were very good and we were really happy. The guys were fabulous and really fast. We had a little problem with one piece because I did not measure properly and they were really trying to stay to help figure it out. I was very impressed with them and I highly recommend them. The price was great.

After my last moving experience i made a decision that i would never moev again without extensive research and word of month. After long process i chose roadway moving. From the initial contacts with the representatives of Roadway Moving, the confirmation calls to pick up and delivery of the items. The whole experience was really FANTASTIC. Professionalism and expertise deserve sheer mentioning! I would surely recommend Roadway Moving to anyone interested in movers. few points: sales depaetment: easy to deal with, very professional, the representative knows moving... customer service: on top of it, phone call 3 days before, day before and e-mail confirmation. also they do after move QA. dispatch: very freimdly and polite, made contact day before and the morning of the move. MOVERS: wonderful, respectful, easy to work with, friendly and absolutely the best. moving suck and very stressful, but with roadway it was a pleasant experience.

Other than mix-ups with the office re: address of apartment (they got it wrong twice, the driver called from the road and was two towns over), everything went well. In spite of mistake with address, the movers were still on time. All the furniture was wrapped and handled with care. All work was done within the three hour time limit.

I moved local and i called roadway moving to get a quote. It was easy to deal with the sales rep and make the reservation. It was pleasure dealing with the sales rep that explaine everything how the move work ,so the move will be painless. They told be that my move is based on hourly rate and they were right about the time. The crew that arrive were polite and took extreme care in handling my furniture. They wrap all the furniture ,disassemble my bed and took care of my mattress . Roadway made everything right from the sales rep, to the schudale the move ,to the professional crew that came to my house. i was happy doing business with roadway moving .

Given how inconsistent moving services can be, and what a pain i the neck moving in general can be, I feel very lucky to have found Roadway Movers. From the initial contact with Erfain who booked my move, to Chakira who coordinated it and finally Alejandro and the guys who came on time and worked efficiently, we got outstanding service. I can't have been happier with how smooth it all went despite us having to re-schedule our move and do other last minute changes. Because of all the small changes we had to do, they called back several times for updates and to make sure everything was in order for the day of our move. Because of the nature of our move, we could only move boxes one day and furniture two weeks later. I called back to book a new move and Efrain got a group of men ready to move within 24 hours. He even helped me find other discount deals and checked with the owner if I could get a return customer discount since it had only been two weeks since we used their services. Seriously, what company helps you find discount deals AND provide high quality service? I highly recommend you choose Roadway movers for your move. They'll take good care of your belongings and give superior customer service. And if I'm really, really lucky they'd consider open an office on Hawaii so I can use them again for my next move :).

I signed up to receive the 3 men for 3 hours at $279. The job was completed in 4 hours and I was under the impression, I would pay $480. I ended up paying $579. Also, the crew scratched my dresser and when I mentioned it, they acted like it wasn't a problem. The last complaint has to do with my bed frame. They bent it somehow?? Now I am unable to place my box spring and mattress on it. I called the company to complain but I feel like I was just getting the run around.

The movers were wonderful; prompt, efficient, careful, professional, and responsive to our questions and needs. The person who booked our appointment was a bit difficult to deal with on the telephone and a bit pushy/bossy. In the end, his estimate was exact, but the process lacked a GENUINE customer friendliness.
