It turned out fine. They were good and they packed everything well. They made sure that all of the furniture was packed well in moving blankets. They were quick and efficient. I would use them again.

The service went well. the quote was accurate and information provided was in the initial planning was accurate. they were flexible in scheduling and were able to arrange for this quickly. I was very please they were able to schedule this right away. The movers we very nice and helpful. They did a nice job. They called before arriving were about 30 min late but called to let me know and were accurate with the timing from when they called. The team did hit a few walls carrying items out - that was the only issue. I think it would be the same as any provider. Overall they wrapped items nicely, worked quickly and did a nice job.

They showed up when promised, immediately began loading truck. Wrapped up glass coffee table. Moved furniture from basement to first floor, heavy stuff. Very positive crew. Got it done in the 2 hours including time to new place. Didn't pay any extra. Costs were thoroughly explained. Great deal!

It was good. There were extra charges from the Big Deal. They honored the service that they said they would do. It gets tricky with moving companies sometimes. They did exactly what they offered. They were quick, fast and professional.

Customer service was great and the price estimate was clear and fair. The moving crew was very professional and the team lead was really nice. My only complaint was not getting a confirmation call 24 hours before the moving date. I needed to call the office myself. And once I did I was able to get my moving time range. I would use them again and refer them to a friend.

From the moment I contacted Roadway my experience was wonderful. Joseph called me immediately to discuss the process. I especially want to mention I was working with a short time frame (a week!) - Joseph was thorough and explained how Angie's Big Deal worked and gave me a quote based on the info I provided. He made sure I had all my concerns addressed and questions answered. The day before the move I received a call from customer service to confirm - I had to make some slight changes and was connected to Joseph - who again, was so accommodating and assured me I had nothing to worry about. On the day of the move the crew called me an hour before arrival to check in - they arrived promptly at 9am and started working immediately - taking inventory, and reviewing the contract details again including any extra costs that may be incurred (i.e. if the move would take longer than the estimated time, additional items packed by them). They were professional and friendly - they worked around us (because we still had some last minute items to pack). They worked diligently, answering any questions I had. The movers handled a move from a 2 bedroom apt in brooklyn (2nd floor no elevator - stairs only) to our new home in NJ within the 8 hour timeframe that Joseph originally quoted. I would absolutely recommend their services. Thank you Roadway, Joseph, and the crew that handled my move!

Well worth the purchase - guys were fast and efficient. The only misleading part was the posting didn't say we had to pay for the cost of the movers to get back to the city (Didn't find out until after purchasing the coupon). $500 dollars including tip but well worth the price. Would recommend and use Roadway Movers in the future.

After reading the great reviews I purchased the deal they were offering. Let me say...I've moved so many times in the last 10 years that I've lost count of how many moves I've made. Never have I had such great movers as these guys! Adrian was the team leader, and Andre and Oleks (alex) made a great team. Granted I didn't have much stuff to move this time as I was just moving my fiancee's stuff to our second home, but these guys were fantastic. They were very prompt on arrival, and really friendly and nice guys. Adrian went over the paperwork while the other guys started taking the stuff down. They were really efficient and the place was cleaned out in no time. On the other end, they were unpacked in even less time. Couldn't have asked for 3 nicer, and more professional guys to move you!

Excellent all around. There was a minor pricing discrepancy that was promptly remedied. I would highly recommend them and would use them again for a future move.

It was the best moving experience I've ever had. They were helpful in inventorying my things over the phone, other places insisted on a home visit. I got competitive bids from other high-rated movers, and they were the best price and the most responsive. I opted for the flat rate fee so as to avoid hidden charges later. On move day, they actually showed up 30 min early. And since I wasn't ready, they told me to call them when I was ready for them. They took their time wrapping my things and were very pleasant. The only hiccup, if you could call it that, was the driver showed up with an old contract which was for less money for less items. Not really a problem for me since I was about to save money, but I told him it was an old contract and that I didn't want any problems later on down the road by signing this contract. He let me know that my items were well within the limit for the price he was charging me, and that if I signed on the dotted line, I wouldn't pay a cent over that amount. I was super happy about that! But when they delivered my things in Texas, they wanted me to pay the higher amount. Eventually they ended up honoring the lower price after I had told them my situation. So all-in-all, a very good experience. Great price. Quality movers. Great customer service. Nice trucks.

Wow! If you want to talk about customer happiness, these guys should be writing the book! First things first, I was moving from NYC apt to my new home in LI. I though about doing the couple friends and beers however, due to my line of work that takes all the hours of the day and cellphone-attached on days off. I just couldn't. I contact Effrain at Roadway Moving, who was very friendly and professional. Also very helpful when it came to tips about moving, the type I would never think of. We spoke for a bit before booking the service. I booked the job only when I felt the honesty in the move. The day came by. Robert And his crew came by and rocked the apartment. Within 2 hrs, they were done with the apartment and heading to the home in LI, where my wife was. She felt the care and respect of the guys. I felt as of they were taking care of all my items. I still need to unpack the ton of boxes we have in the garage but the guys showed me the truck at the end and it was empty. Kudos.

They were professional and punctual. Move went as expected, nothing to complain about. They explained very clearly I would be charger per 15 minutes, and the team they sent was flexible in moving furniture to the proper areas. Bill came out as explained.

Our experience with the movers started poorly. The movers claimed that they had been waiting to start the move for an hour and that we could not be reached. We were home all morning waiting for the movers. We lived in a doorman building and there was a video intercom at the front door. No one called us, rung our bell or asked the doorman to come to the apartment, so I knew that this was a lie. During the move, the movers were incredibly inefficient. The movers also made a number of attempts to take advantage of us -- some of which worked. First, knowing that we had to pay an hourly rate for additional hours, they moved very slowly, were joking, laughing and wasting time. They took even more time than they estimated it would take after viewing our furniture. When I noticed that each trip to their truck took a long time, I went downstairs to see why and saw one of the movers doing nothing! Later, they claimed that two of our pieces of furniture were too tall for the elevator and that we would have to pay a fee of $15/per flight of stairs in addition to their hourly rate for them to bring the items up the stairs. When we demonstrated how the item could EASILY fit into the elevator they conceded and delivered the items. We realized that they had not even tried to fit the items into the elevator. Had we taken them at their word, we would have had to pay a fee of $240 in addition to the fee for the time it would have taken them to use the stairs. Before they finished working, the movers claimed that we would have to pay them for the additional hours in cash before they would finish moving our items. We called the moving company and learned that we could pay the company directly by credit card. The movers were dishonest, and incredibly inefficient. They also broke certain items. I have not yet finished the claims process. -- Post Claims Process Review Below Some time after I completed my review of this company on Angie's List, I received a call from Chakira, a company representative. Chakira said that she was disappointed to hear about my experience with the company and wanted to refund a portion of the moving charges. She estimated that we would be refunded at least $300 for the moving charges alone. I mentioned to Chakira that the movers had also damaged some of my furniture. Specifically, they broke a large wooden frame that was passed down to me when I got married, and spilled a chemical on my leather couch. The leather is permanently damaged. They also ripped the bottom lining on my couch. I didn't see the damage to the couch at first because when they delivered the couch, they leaned it against the wall rather than sitting it on the floor so that I would not see the damage. Chakira said that I should file the claims forms for the damaged furniture and that she would then issue me a check for the damage to the furniture and the refund for moving charges. After I submitted the claims forms, I did not hear anything from the company until I emailed Chakira to ask for an update. 11 days later, I still had not heard anything. I emailed Chakira again. She called me back the following day to tell me that they would refund me $150 of the moving charges, $3 for my frame and $36 for my couch. I reminded her that she had earlier promised us at least $300. Chakira then proceeded to explain to me that I was only entitled to $39 for my damaged furniture and that I should be grateful for a "goodwill" $150 refund of moving charges. Roadway took a bad experience, ripped off the bandage and poured salt in the wound. If Roadway would have just left me alone after I submitted my review on Angie's List, I would have just attributed my horrible experience to chance and forgotten about Roadway. The fact that the company reached out to us, promised to make up for our bad experience, and then refused to honor that promise, is beyond aggravating. The entire process has taken over 4 months. --Dealing with Company Owner (Details Below) After I posted my post-claims process review of Roadway, I received a message from Ross Sapir, the company owner. He asked to know why I was so angry with Roadway. After I sent him a letter detailing all of my problems with Roadway, he apologized to me and decided to refund us $600. 9 days later, the refund had posted to my account. It may have taken less time than that, but I was away on vacation, so my communication with him was sporadic. In the end, we ended up paying $279.00 for our move. I thought that Ross handled this situation very well. He obviously cares about good customer service. Considering all that I've read about Roadway from other reviewers and the way that Ross handled our situation, I am comfortable with concluding that our experience was not typical for the company. I would consider using Roadway for a future move.

Move went very well. Jose, John & Luis were the best. Arrived on time. Courteous & very efficient. When they took down a big pieces of furniture, I was quickly dusting. They moved our monster big tv, without complaint. Arrived at the coop. They walked 3 bookcases (over 7 feet by 4 feet each) up to our 5th floor coop. I only have great things to say about our moving team.

We had to have some furniture moved so I looked on Angies List and found a moving company that was recommended, Roadway moving. I called them and set up a time for them to discuss the move with my wife who organized the move with Roadway. They were very professional, courteous and prompt. They were here when they said they would be. They did not scratch or hurt any of our belongings nor hurt the walls in the apartment. The move went so smoothly that they were finished about 45 minutes earlier than they estimated. If we need to move anything again, we will definitely call Roadway.

Roadway was incredible. Not only was Jose and his team on time, they were early! The move was efficient, the guys worked the whole time, they did not drag out the number of hours, and my possessions arrived intact. I would most definitely use them again.

i bought the deal because we were planing to move-but things got changed and we don't need to use there services anymore. my experience so far with the customer service of roadway moving was great since i never used them so don't know how they work but i am sure they will work good too if we use them.

I was looking for a moving company for a short move within Manhattan. I initially contacted Roadway and worked with Mike and Joseph to get an initial estimate and a walk-through of the process. After getting other estimates elsewhere, Roadway was by far the most reasonable, so we decided to go ahead and purchase the $279 Angies List coupon and go with them. A few days prior to the move, I received a call for pick-up confirmation and the staff was extremely helpful in setting up and confirming the insurance requirements for both my old place and new place. On the day of the move, the moving crew showed up exactly on time, and with four people instead of three which turned out to be a great help. Given that we had more belongings than indicated in the initial estimate (my only suggestion for Roadway would be to consider doing on-site estimations where possible), the crew moved quickly and had everything packed in the truck within 2-3 hours. They even helped pack up a few last minute things and provided an extra box at no charge. They were very careful with our belongings and wrapped up all the furniture for protection. At the new apartment, the crew was again very efficient in unpacking everything even though they had to deal with a long walk to the service entrance and from there another long walk to the elevator. The fourth man helped turn the job into only 6 hours overall when otherwise they might have been working much longer, so this saved some time and money. Overall, I'm very pleased with Roadway, the whole experience was relatively painless (moving is always a pain) and the staff and moving crew were all very professional. Another big plus is you can't beat their rates - even though the job went well beyond the coupon time, the total ended up being well below quotes from other moving companies. Highly recommended, would use again.

Working with Roadway went extremely well. The movers worked efficiently and actively communicated with me throughout the process to ensure things were done according to my expectations. They also sought to minimize any overage costs with regard to time used. For example, they asked if I wanted to finish putting together my computer desk (a very simple procedure) or have them do it, which would have only required 15 minutes or so but would have kept them from finishing faster. At $120/hr extra I appreciated their effort to find ways to reduce the time I needed to have them working. The movers also packed everything safely and no items were damaged during the move. I would highly recommend them to anybody moving in the NYC area.

Some of it was done by us and some of it was done by them. They provided a good service and they responded on time. They were very courteous.

I contacted Ken Chen at Roadway Moving to arrange a move in two or three weeks time. He returned my call quickly and explained how the Angie's List coupon works and the pricing policy. The date of the move was set and the contracts emailed to me. I received a time for the movers to arrive and they checked my information. Ken Chen was very professional and took the time to explain all the details and answer all my questions. I felt very comfortable with the professionalism of the company. The day before the move I received a confirmation and my information checked again. On the day of the move I received a call to let me know they were on the way. When the movers showed up they were on-time, friendly, courteous, and very professional. The contracts were explained again and the pricing policy and insurance forms were explained and filled out. The men went straight to work and they took such care with the items it was like they were moving their own furniture. In no time at all they were loaded up and on their way to the new place. When we got to the new place it started to snow and the crew took extra care to make sure there was no damage to either the furniture or the apartment. They placed the furniture where it belongs and cleaned up before they left. There were no surprises and no damage. I have used moving companies before and have never had such a wonderful experience. If I need another move I will definitely call Roadway Moving, they are great. I highly recommend them for your moves.

We were very impressed by the service of the three gentlemen that arrived ten minutes earlier than scheduled. They were all very courteous and polite. Everything they did was with care consideration to our needs. Even helped us pack the last minute things that we didn't have time to pack. We could not believe that they cleaned out our old apartment and loaded them on the truck in less than an hour. Overall it was the work that the men did that impressed us the most. They were so kind and polite. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. Just have to get past the surly phone salesmen that pressure you. But it's all about the service in the end.

I highly recommend them because of their professionalism. Nothing broke during our move and no hidden fees were assessed the day of the move. A++
