Roadway Moving

It turned out pretty good. They moved everything without breaking anything. They were also punctual and it was a good moving experience. I would use them again.

All of my things arrived intact and the movers were very courteous and professional. Chakira and Brandy (in customer service) were very responsive and helpful in resolving a few issues that came up.

They showed up on time and delivered the furniture as contracted.

Scheduling was fine and he was upfront about additional costs for additional time needed. There was some confusion on their end as to the address but they were good about accommodating needing to be rescheduled. They also wrapped needed items up such as the bed and other furniture they needed to be careful with such as a hutch. Nothing got broken and they were very responsive. The size of the truck was fine for living room furniture, bedroom furniture, etc. They overcame a spacing obstacle with moving a loveseat into the basement. Overall, they were very cooperative and I would recommend their services to others. I got other quotes and theirs was less expensive.

Overall, the move went well. I have moved many times with various carriers before. However, I felt the Roadway movers took good precautions such as shrink wrapping furniture and appliances. They also removed couch legs etc. upon my suggestion to help fit the sofa through the door. My only concern here is with the initial billing. My concern was fully resolved by the company after I objected. However, I don't think I should have had to raise an objection in the first place. I paid for three movers upfront for two hours (excluding one hour travel). One of the movers (the foreman) became injured on the job just one hour into the move. The cost after two hours was $120 / hour as part of the Angie List Big Deal. However, this original cost basis model was not realistic for my move after the injury on the job took place because I had only two movers which obviously slows progress. In addition, there was no productivity from any mover for at least one hour as I called 911 for the injured foreman mover while his two colleagues had to assist him with ice until the ambulance came and took him to the hospital. Fortunately, he was OK. He said I would not be charged any more for the move. However, the Roadway rep in the office informed me I would have to pay another $240 based on how long the move would take to complete. I informed the rep this did not make sense to be charged the three-mover rate for just two movers and I was not compensated for the hour when there was no productivity. The rep got back with me and then kept the same price. I was satisfied with the final resolution but concerned I would have been billed substantially more had I not raised the matter supported by the above facts. Aside from the billing matter, the moving experience was very good.

I saw their big deal on Anies list, and the reviews are good. Then I contacted with them. The communications could be through phone and email. I got a pretty accurate quote. The person I contacted was very nice and professional. My apartment is a management building and requires the proof of insurance and labor comp. They can provide them without any issue. The movers arrived in time, and pack everything for us. They were very efficient and professional.

They were very exceptional. We had to move in a hurry and they were able to schedule within two days. They were prompt and courteous. Very careful with everything and put appropriate items in correct boxes. Very calm and professional with confidence in everything they did. Goods were delivered in excellent shape and delivered on time.

They were reasonbaly priced and nice.

They were really generous with their time,supportive, friendly, and gave us good pricing.

Though expensive, everyone at Roadway from people in the office, to estimators to the movers were totally responsible and professional. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

Three young strong men were sent. They were careful, quick and efficient. The job was done with time to spare. I would use them again.

They were great. We have lots of art and fragile items and they were all cared for. They sent packers beforehand to get everything ready and so the actual moving out process was quick. On the other end they were a little slow ad so I got yelled at by my new board for going over the 5pm move-in curfew, but only by about 20 minutes. As an environmentalist I would have liked a little less excessive use of paper packing/stuffing, but I suppose in some instances it is unavoidable.

I Used roadway to move into my place in Brooklyn. Everything went great. What I liked about them is they were transparent everything they said they would do they did with no hassle . Mario was great.

They did come on time and there was no hassle with that. This turned out fine but I couldn't get them to send me a bill. I needed it for my landlord and to document that I had paid. I had called them several times. They did do a decent job in the moving. They were supposed to take some things to the Salvation Army or Goodwill and they claimed that neither would accept them and threw them in the dump. I felt this was furniture that was still very serviceable, so it seemed odd that both places would turn them down. They charged me extra for taking these items to dump. Overall, I wasn't exactly happy about what they did.

We bought the deal for 3 movers and a truck. The customer service was excellent and they explained all the potential costs at the outset before we confirmed the move.... Then on moving day, the movers showed up on time and called me first... They were professional and fast. I was worried they would work slowly to add more hours, but they didn't and actually finished the job earlier than the estimate we were given. The movers had to deal with a lot of stairs but they were good spirited about it and pleasant. Overall, great customer service and wonderful movers. I highly recommend. Also, the company had to quickly get my landlord a cert. of insurance... which they did with no problem. Roadway is great!!

They called ahead of time to give me an estimated time of arrival. They were on time, professional and very nice. They moved very, very fast and were extremely efficient.

They provided a good service. They were punctual, efficient, and they followed up. They didn't charge more than the Big Deal amount, but the one that I was not told that I was told by the gentleman when he was already there was that we had to pay for the tolls.

It went well, they moved with a sense of urgency and saved me time and money. I was very pleased

They were wonderful. They were very prompt, they cooperated with us, and they really were excellent. They charged us additional, and it was quite substantial. They advertized $239 for the move, but they said that that was for the initial 2 hours, and so he came and gave me an estimate. They did do an excellent job. They had to make more than one move, they had to go from one place to another. I don't know how often they give big deals, but that was for 2 hours and the service took longer, and it was 2 moves. I changed my dates several times, and they were helpful. I felt the price was fair.

Moving can be so stressful. i had a good experience with Roadway. their customer service was very good and very helpful. 3 men actually showed up early. The supervisor was excellent, took extra care in wrapping blankets around furniture and lamps. He had moving down to a science. Price quoted was right on, no hidden surprises (unlike other ads for movers, when you call they have all these extras, and some were cash only). i would definitely use these guys again.

Overall is good beside they leave some scratch on the hardwood floor.

The service was fine, until we got to the house, and they said it was a 5 hour job. They give you your deal, and then when they do it, they add on stuff. I won't be doing that again. I was pleased with Angie's List, but I am not pleased with that. When they talk to you on phone, they tell you this and that, and then when you read the fine print, it says it is 150 Dollars per hour, and then he came out and told me that it was a 5 hour job. It didn't seem like it was 5 hours, and I paid it, and they did it. They also expected a tip. I was in closing when they came, and they had to wait, but they didn't charge me for waiting. Some things were broken, but it was as bad. I just had a few problems, and I would not use them again in the future.

The movers were punctual and professional, but one of them dropped a piece of my wallunit and damage the corner of it which is now very visible and not something I can replace as it was purchased from Spain years ago. I am now with their claims department trying to get some money for the damage which whatever they will give me, if anything, won't fix it anyway. So, if they don't drop your furniture, they are good but slightly overpriced.
