Roadway Moving

Excellent. Ken was very good about calling me and ensuring that all my questions were answered (even ones that didn't occur to me at the time). Avi -the head of the crew- arrived early. Everyone was super quick and professional. They finished quicker than expected and charged me less than the estimated amount even though they sent one extra guy over. They did an amazing job with my upright Yamaha U3 piano.

They called to inform me that they would be at my residence in about 2 hrs time. It was a 3 man crew. They were courteous polite and professional. They were finished packing and loading in an hour.

The move went relatively okay.However, an old table was a bit damaged because it was wrongly packed. Aside from that the company did a good job.

They were excellent, the price was a bit higher than other quotes we received but they stuck with their initial estimate and did a great job wrapping items to prevent any damage, they were punctual and the move went very smoothly.

Roadway World Wide Moving packed and moved me from Forest Hills, Queens, to Chicago, IL, a distance of about 800 miles. I cannot speak highly enough of these movers. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and congenial. The crew did amazing work and were right on schedule for everything. They kept in touch and were quick to reply to my calls and questions. Ken in customer services was great to work with and was on top of everything. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Roadway to anyone planning a move and I would, and probably will, use them again in the future. By-the-way, so far I haven't found anything broken or missing. Remarkable!

this company keeps delivering excellent service! this move wasnt easy, it was 1 day of packing and day after moving. moving is tuff already but moving with a pregnant wife and full schedule at work is harder, for this you need great moving and packing service. roadway delivered 20 plastic bins for free few days before we moved so we can pack our personal items, they came the day of and in few hours the five movers finished all packing and labeling. day after the movers showed up 15 minutes earlier than start time and waited for my call outside, we all got our Starbucks coffee and started to move! by 3 PM the move plus UNPACKING was done! no missing items, no damages and an happy wife. will recommend and use again.

Everything started off well enough. The phone rep was very pleasant and easy to deal with. He set up a walk through for the following week to get a better look at what we had, and to give us a firm price on the move. We had a 1 hour time frame set for the agent to arrive. Towards the end of the time frame we got a call that they were stuck in traffic in Manhattan. Seeing as they could not make it in time, we rescheduled for another time the following week. The second time around, the agent showed up punctually and did a great job with the estimate. She was pleasant and the process was very fast. She was also quite informative about the ins and outs of the move. A day later I got a quote from the original person I talked to for appx $8000. The document said the offer was good for 72 hours. I felt the price was a bit high compared to other companies, but I still wanted to see if we could figure something out, so over the course of the next 2 days we went back and mutually forth and tried to get to a better price point. Finally on the 3rd day, while waiting for a reply, I get an email saying they could do the move but not provide the storage. At this point I was a bit upset having wasted so much time with them on the estimate and price negotiation. If you cant provide storage or werent sure, why not disclose that upfront? Even though they said they could only move and not store our things, I was actually still considering using them for a move and providing my own local storage. However, when I asked a follow up question about the size of the move and what kind of facilities they would require (elevator, drive up, etc), I never got a reply. In the end, I though the staff we dealt with were nice enough. But the reality is that Roadway could not even provide me with an accurate list of services up front nor provide or answer simple emails when they reneged on their offer. I would not recommend Roadway. There are too many other companies out there to deal with this kind of stuff.

Everybody that worked with was very professional and very polite. Nothing is broken so far. They were very careful in both my old house and new house to make sure that they didn't scratch my walls. They did a great job. Overall they were very professional. I would use them again and will recommend them. The only thing negative I have to say is they were an hour late outside the 3 hour window they gave me.

Javier and his team moved us from our apartment in NYC to NJ including packing in about 10 hours. Javier called me the morning of the move with an approximate arrival time and he arrived according to schedule. His team packed all of our belongings and our storage unit which was no small task. Upon arrival in NJ they placed my furniture and boxes in the requested rooms throughout the home. His team was professional and worked incredibly h****** one of the hottest days of the summer. I'd highly recommend Javier and his crew.

I was very pleased. My things arrived in my new home within 24 hours. Everyone was professional and helpful. Everything arrived in its original condition.

These guys were punctual and polite. They worked hard. The price was fair. I want to give them a great review but I have to point a couple of things out. They unscrewed an ornament at the top of our staircase to try get a mattress base down the stairs. This didn't work and they eventually got it down another way. However, they did not attempt to screw the ornament back in and the top of the bannister was left damaged. I did not notice till later that they had done this or I would have told them to fix it and I'm sure they would have tried to. When they drove their truck into the driveway they pulled down a wire outside the house without fixing it and were starting their van to leave when I pointed this out to them, and they then fixed the problem. They were not careful with all our furniture, did not secure some larger dining pieces at the new house, which we discovered later, and did not fold out a dining table properly. In summary, I would say they were efficient, trustworthy and good value. The cons were that they hurried, perhaps because it was a set price and not a per hour price. I would not call it white glove service but I would recommend them as trustworthy and no furniture was broken. There were no major issues and I WOULD use them again. Nobody's perfect but that little bit more consideration would have gone a long way.

On both sides movers were extremely efficient, courteous and professional and handled our furniture with the utmost care. There was a wait of 10 days for furniture to be delivered to new location which I did not realize was customary.

We ended up not using them because the price exceeded our budget.. But, we'd definitely consider using them in the future. They were very thorough & professional.

So far they moved all of my stuff into storage and it's gone really well!

A professional, high-quality move. With the Angie's List coupon, they beat all other quotes by about $300. Everything arrived in great shape, including a large painting that they packed incredibly well.

From start to finish, our move went very well. Efrain, the agent in the New York City office, was terrific. By the time I spoke to him, I was pretty overwhelmed with prices and promises I'd received from other companies. Roadway's price was on the low side, so I was somewhat nervous about hidden charges. The excellent reviews on Angie's List and Efrain's professional manner put me at ease. The moving crew on the New Jersey end were cheerful, efficient and professional. They shrink-wrapped and padded our furniture, including two antique pieces over 150 years old. The moving crew on the South Carolina end were just as great. They unwrapped our pieces, quickly assembled them, and put them in place. Everything arrived in great shape. Roadway's price was exactly as Efrain quoted. I would not hesitate to use Roadway again.

Our move went several hours over scheduled but that was to no fault of their own. Moving just takes time. they still came around the estimate from Flat Rate. the 3 provided movers were friendly, quick, and professional. we've moved several times over the years and this was our most pleasant experience so far. I worked with Joe from the administrative end and he was very responsive and helpful.

The movers certainly did not move with any sense of urgency and did not seem at all concerned with property damage. A move that was originally planned to take 3 hours , instead took about 6 1/2 hours. An estimate of $825 ballooned up to $1250. They damaged my back door by taking it off its hinges and then not placing it back properly. The supporting wood frame has been damaged and the door is not firmly in place. Worse yet I can neither bang the hinge pin in further or extract it. I'll likely have to hire a pro to fix it. They damaged the railing and some pergo steps going down to my basement. No apology was offered by the actual movers. The office did contact my fiancée. They extended an apology and offered to refund us $277. It brings the actual move to under $1000 which is a good price and will be a good start towards the anticipated repair costs. I'm changing my grade from a D to a C due to the sincerity of the front office people. I can not in good faith give a higher grade due to the experience and the future projects the movers have added to my to do list.

Had a 2nd mover come out to provide an estimate as well. Roadway said they would attempt to reduce their rate to be competitive, which they did. By the time came back to me with their competitive rate they informed me that they were all booked for the day I needed. Which was too late for other mover also.

They were methodical, friendly, and competent. It all went as quickly as possible, given the clunkiness of the treadmill and the narrow staircase from basement to first floor. At the other end, the praise did not end, including the word "Mensch." That's a real compliment.

First I must start off by saying I can not say enough good things about this company. Having used Roadway to move myself in the past, when my daughter told me that she had finally received the offer she had been hoping for from a potential new job, although it was going to be a bit overwhelming for us because it meant moving her so far away (almost 3000 miles away to California!) I knew that it had to be done right. We have moved many times over the years.. but long distance was something less familiar to us. I remembered after moving with Roadway recently that the foreman mentioned that they moved long distance and that he actually spent most of his time on the road doing those types of moves. I said to myself if they made me feel this comfortable moving locally, and these were the types of people that would be picking up my daughters stuff to move to the other side of the country. Then these were the guys that had to do it for me. It was a no brainer. When I called they walked me through the whole process explaining how they came up with the initial cost and explained to me the best way for us to be prepared and the different options they offered when it came to packing etc.. Let's put it this way. We couldn't have been happier. They did everything for us which is great cause my daughter has enough on her plate already with starting a new job and getting settled with her new apartment etc..These guys again made the process that much easier for us. They helped her pack almost everything except for a few things she wanted to do herself since she is very particular. Not to mention the most important part how efficient hard working, patient and friendly they were they were. From the moment we set everything up the level of service is truly refreshing. They might even be locating me and the wife out next after these last several winters. Thank you again guys, You definitely helped ease our stress.

Great team effort. Everyone was super nice. Took great care of our things. Placed boxes and furniture wherever I asked. If recommend them highly.

Excellent company at all levels. They insisted on a on site estimate and then did another one a week before because I thought I added more stuff. Movers were professional, courteous and very hard working. Discount was applied. And they even sent a $100 gift card towards my next move, or to give to a friend.

It was really well. It went very smoothly. Everything was on time. We are pretty satisfied with that. The total price was for five hours. Everything worked out fine. They are really professional. That’s what impressed us the most. They were a little bit on the expensive side.
