Roadway Moving

So my roommate and I decided to officially move in together. He had tons of things in storage and I had tons of things that needed to go into storage. I just recently moved into our new place with a a differently company but unfortunately they had nothing available last minute so they recommended Roadway. They moved him in and went back to the storage facility to drop off some of my things that we needed to store until we get a bigger place. The people at the office were extremely pleasant to work with and very patient with us after making several changes the day before.We didn't know that you cant trash furniture at the storage place but Roadway took care of it for a reasonable fee. Our move took 2 days. Both crews were effing awesome. And it wasnt as stressful as we thought it would be. Everyone was so nice. They were very careful with our things although there were some pretty crappy things that I was hoping they would have accidentally intentionally broke but...no such luck....LOL. ANYWAY, Shout out to these guys for putting up with us.

Not only did they come on time but they were early which worked very for this situation! They were professional, efficient, careful, helpful, courteous, friendly, respectful of both homes and property, and fast. I couldn't have asked for better or more. Highly recommended service

The initial estimate was very professional and dealing with the New York office good. The crew who came to Morristown was very professional, and did an efficient and fine job. The art was packed well and the team was excellent. It is the Raleigh end which was the problem and hopefully if you are moving other places, your job will go better. Originally the delivery was scheduled for December 23 but because of weather and darkness closing in the Temporary Workers, two older men, told the driver it was getting too late to off load. This in itself was not the problem. y tThe problem was basically the by the job helpers employed. They were not especially tidy or clean in appearance and heavy smokers.It was raining outside and they did not take care to make sure they did not track mud etc inside the house. But that was not the worst part and I could have chalked that up to the day. What distressed me is that these two temporary workers were not listening and were not careful.(I imagined they were available and that's why the driver employed them--he told me as much. The driver, by the way, was a nice guy who worked hard and tried his best. Because I had packed many of my boxes myself so Roadway was not responsible for breakage and yet, these men did not read the boxes, or put them in appropriate places, and worse yet, stacked boxes of books on top of boxes which read in large letters "FRAGiLE, CHINA." In fact I read every box to the temporary workers and still don't know if they could actually read. Even though I did, they did not care or did not listen. Consequently dishes and fragile objects (Rosenthal and antique Minton China) were broken. They also took very little care with walls and floors. The new dark hardwood floors of my townhouse have many stretches in them. The walls I cleaned up and were heavily marked. I called the office on this and spoke to a pleasant young woman who, after receiving pictures of most of the damage (not everything was unpacked so more damage has been found) told me that if I would find a floor specialist they would pay for that service. I told her that was their responsibility since it was their crew who damaged the floor. It is difficult to find, even on the list, services that will do small repair on wood floors even if there is a half dozen medium size repairs which there turned out to be after the boxes were up. The damage was due to sliding pieces of furniture. I also asked to speak to a supervisor or a person in charge. and I was never put in contact with him or her. The costumer service rep I spoke has not gotten back to me. I was asked to not post on Angie's list because the company is very concerned about their ratings, Yet I have not been offered compensation or a way to deal with the damages.I feel, for those people moving to North Carolina, there were some irregular and distressing things they should know about. The issue, after two weeks is not yet resolved and perhaps Roadway will address it. Nonetheless, I feel very sad and frustrated that that it was laid on my shoulders to find "fixers" to fix problems caused by their negligence. I would not recommend them to people moving to the Triangle area.

Roadway is delivering excellent service all the time, I have recommended them to many friends and everyone had great experience as well. The movers came and labeled everything with a very hi-tech barcode system, I got a nice PDF describing all the summer items that went in to storage, customer service call and sent me a report of entering to storage. I can now pin point what items I need them to deliver if needed.

I am not saying that moving is an easy experience, but everyone at Roadway moving made it as painless as they possibly could. I used the packing service also and from the moment they arrived to do the packing in the previous day, they were very effective, efficient and dedicated to their job and they finished the packing in a lot less time than I thought they would. Loading was also done in a systematic way and everything from beginning to end went without a hitch. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

The team from Roadway was great! At first appointment over the phone, estimation was to the price we paid. Appointment was confirmed by email and freezing rain didn't even stop them from coming. We packed everything ourselves, and even though we had WAY more stuff than they anticipated - the moving team that showed up worked to fit everything in the truck in one trip and was diligent about packing things so that they wouldn't break or get damaged. Luis A., Erik M. and Julian N. were a fantastic team - courteous, polite and all around great group of guys. Would use this company again.

Movers on both ends were excellent. Make sure you have them come to the house for the estimate. The total cost exceeded the estimate by $3,000.

The bad. Some broken items, less that 6. Missing 1 item. Tremendous amount of boxes and wrapping paper which was all part of the cost. They packed up a couple of boxes with things that were supposed to be left in NY. Now we have to send them back. They recommended a tip which was excessive. I think $2000, whick is alot when your already spending $7000. We did tip $450 divided up among the workers on both ends. The good. Most things arrived in decent shape. The workers worked hard and the time slots they gave me for pick up and delivery were met.

On a rainy day in November, Roadway Movers did a fantastic job moving my furniture and items from my one-bedroom apartment to a one-bedroom apartment in the next town. The three men arrived a few minutes early and worked together beautifully, wrapping all of my furniture with heavy padding and putting other items in large storage boxes that they provided. They were absolutely terrific and set up everything in my new place with precision and care. Everything about the experience with Roadway was outstanding, from my initial and follow-up conversations with Chris to arrange the move, to the day the movers arrived. I enthusiastically recommend Roadway, thank them for doing such a great job and for making moving day such a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

We had another mover scheduled to do my parents move but they sent us some very sketchy characters so i cancelled service with them, in a bind I called around and recalled that I have seen this company many times near my midtown office as well as out by my parents in Long Island, thought I would give them a try. The quote process was on point, and pricing was reasonable, Roadway had kept us informed throughout the delivery and even helped my indecisive folks to move the bedroom set around at their new place, very nice respectful gentleman that I feel comfortable trusting my parents item with, no damages or added charges, amazing overall

Roadway was excellent from day one all the way through the move. My mother who is not easy to please said "I could not have wanted or expected more. Every single person was fabulous". The service we got from the planning, estimate and final preping was compete; the movers were flexible, courteous, personable and professional. The price was very fair.

Every detail of my move went perfectly. The movers arrived on time and started right away. Marco and his crew were total professionals and didn't waste any time during the move. All the furniture was wrapped for protection and carefully loaded and unloaded. This is the second time I've used Roadway and I also recommended them to a relative. I would not hesitate to use them again.

They were very responsive, professional, competitive and delivered as promised. We were very happy with them!

It was excellent. They were personable, courteous, and efficient. It was a great experience compared to some of the reviews, for other companies, that I have seen online.

The estimate was great, the guy who packed me up were great. I was given a 2 week window to receive my stuff. When it arrived early sunday morning 8AM, the driver informed me he had a 18 wheeler & could not fit into the gated complex. We contacted Roadway & they told me I needed a shuttle (cost over $200) to get my stuff in. I felt & told them it was their job to check the logistics before they sent that huge truck to see if it would fit. They had given me a list of things to ck which I did, but that was not one of them, so I felt I paid for door to door delivery, I'm not paying another dime, plus I had no more money at the time. They told me no worries.They would rent the shuttle & I could pay them Monday when the bank opened.12 PM came, 3 PM, 6 PM. I called the driver who was very courteous & he told me they never got the shuttle for him & now he couldn't contact them. By 10PM I was furious, I called the driver, told him he could keep my stuff cause I had to go to work in the morning & I would see them in court, cause I realized they were not going to get a shuttle without me paying up front for it & I had no intentions of giving Road Way another dime. They did not do their home work. Finally the driver came back,& him & I figured how to get the truck into the complex. My stuff was delivered at 11PM. The driver & his helper were awesome, Roadway is greedy & wanted me to pay for there mistake.I would not use them again.

They were excellent. Managed to move from a one bedroom apartment into our new home. We were not fully packed but the team easily finished the job and helped us on our way. Moving is always an extremely stressful process but Roadway helped make the transition much better.

The move went great! From the initial assessment to determine the breadth and cost of the move to the move itself, Roadway was very professional and did a great job. Here's what Roadway did right: 1. The person who came by to assess the moving job (how much stuff we had, how much it would cost, etc.) was quick and very accurate in his assessment. 2. On the day of the move, Roadway sent 5 movers who arrived early! 3. The movers worked very efficiently, were very cooperative, were very careful and respectful of our belongings, took great care in wrapping and moving our furniture and other more delicate items, and they were friendly. 4. Whenever, the movers weren't sure of something (whether to take a box to the truck, where to put a box in the house when unloading, had to move a mattress a certain way to get it upstairs) they always asked us and checked with us to make sure that we were ok with what they were going to do. Overall, we were really pleased with Roadway's service and would definitely recommend them to anyone requiring moving services.

I read some remarkable reviews on Angie's list and was so impressed I called them. Unfortunately like most people, and maybe I hear more than most, as I'm a hairdresser, I have heard over the years horrific stories about people moving and what can happen to your possessions. From the very first phone call I knew I was dealing with an outstanding company and very remarkable people. They patiently, and calming answered all my questions in a very professional manner and with actual experience with dealing with a very nervous and concerned customer. They in no way discounted my concerns, or even made me feel foolish for having them. And, believe me my concerns were many. They e-mailed me an inventory list so that I could give them an idea of exactly what I would be moving. After reviewing my list, they called me to discuss each item and then gave me an estimate of the move. Then Dave made an appointment to come to my home, to evaluate my furniture and to see what needed special handling. The estimate was right on the money. Anthony, who is a complete angel, kept in constant contact with me. They arrived on the date actually before time and worked steadily all day and did not even take any breaks. They treated my furniture with complete knowledge of what had to be done. My husband and myself were amazed with how they worked and the care they took with my furniture and my home. They left not on scrap of paper anywhere, and were neat as pins, for the considerable work they were doing. I could not praise them more, nor could I say enough about this entire operation. They accommodated me in everyway they could and went above and beyond the call. I would not only recommend them but I myself would use them again, if God forbid, I ever move again. This was a first move in 31 years, so it was emotional, as well as, physically draining. I highly recommend Roadway and I have to thank my best friend for recommending Angie's list....I now a believer.

I recently performed a move with Roadway Moving and my family and I could not be happier with the way were treated by their entire staff. I have been transferred to Los Angeles with little notice from work and had to research transportation companies. With a tough work schedule, father of 2 children, and husband to a wife who just got used to living in New York, the task of searching for a quality company was appearing to be a difficult one. I did extensive research through the Department of Transportation, Google Reviews, Yelp, Angie's List, the Better Business Bureau, and other reviews sites and came up with a very short list of what appeared to be reliable moving companies. I called Roadway and 2 other companies for quotes. I spoke to Chris at Roadway and explained my situation of being taken advantage of before with a company that held my items hostage after a large price increase. I mentioned to him I was on a tight relocation budget and could not exceed it because of other expenses needed to be paid out in California. He eased my mind tremendously explaining that Roadway's prices are guaranteed and would not change as long as all information had stayed the same. He arranged for a walk through with Ben from the company within 2 days from the initial call. Ben was on time, pleasant to my family (even my dog who would not stop begging to be played with), and very detailed when it came to his proposal. Chris and Ben were always responsive through email and phone calls when it came to my many questions on the move. All of the 3 quotes obtained were within $500 of each other so I chose Roadway based on the interactions with everyone so far. My move was near 5 thousand dollars and included packing. Customer service confirmed my move 2 days prior and it felt much more comfortable than my previous moves. Mitch with 4 other gentlemen arrived on move day in Roadway uniforms and were all very pleasant in their appearance (a first in my experiences). The type of men who have come over to my homes in previous moves were never in company uniforms and literally looked to be as if they were day labor. Mitch and crew labeled, packed, inventoried, and loaded all my belongings within 5 hours and with their attention to detail I was certain my items would get to California safely. 3 days after the move I received an email and a call explaining when my items were scheduled to arrive, phone number to the driver, and explanation of how I can pay my final balance. I spoke to Stacey in customer service who reconfirmed my delivery window and took my final payment by credit card. The driver called me 48 and 24 hours prior to delivery with his ETA for delivery so my family and I can plan for his arrival. Once the delivery arrived the crew set up all my goods, reassembled all the furniture, and did light unpacking services. When leaving my home looked as if I have been living here already for months. They took all of the debris that comes with unpacking and wished me well at my new home. I certainly will be moving again in about 2 years and will make sure to call Roadway moving to bring my family and I to the East Coast. I deeply thank all of their staff for the wonderful service I received and for making it smooth relocation for my family and I.

Let me just start by saying these guys were absolutely amazing! My wife and I live in a old pre war building (walk up 5 flights; not to mention she is pregnant!) so we moved into a bigger apartment to accommodate the new member of our family that will be joining us at any moment. Well, as many of us do..I work extremely long hours and travel often for business and my wife has been working between the office and home these days so it has been difficult finding the time to even start packing boxes. Thankfully after doing some research online I found Roadway. And let me say, their reputation speaks for itself. Not are they only extremely knowledgeable but super friendly and great people period. I spoke with Efrain who went over everything for me and presented all of my options. I told him we wanted them to pack everything, as we had no time to really take care of this ourselves and getting my pregnant wife to do this was not going to be the easiest task at hand. He took his time and explained and discussed everything right over the phone in terms of how long it would take, and a full price breakdown. We even agreed that after scheduling the move that they could send a representative by to double check our stuff to make sure we had accounted for everything. For the most part we were on point except a few items I thought we would not be taking that my wife decided she still wanted to keep. Long story short. 4 guys came on the day of with all the materials needed and did the entire move for us. Packing of all the boxes, wrapping of the furniture. You name it these guys were top notch! We didn't lift a finger! Needless to say we are now in our new apartment and couldn't be happier. These guys are great and would recommend to any member of my family or close friends. It worked out and it was good. In that industry comparatively they were very good to work with but that industry in general is very challenging to work with especially for a consumer. There are no guarantees and it can be complicated, the paper work they make you sign and the terms and conditions. It's not a consumer friendly industry. People don't necessarily feel comfortable having a company take their staff moving with confidence that it will show up when they say in one piece. So comparatively they were good to work with but wasn't a perfect experience and absolutely not. There were things I had to call them on, question them on, challenge them on and ultimately they came through but I wouldn't say it was stimulus experience. I think in that industry they are probably above others but again from the industry experience it's just a difficult industry for any consumer to work with. The pick up on the east coast side was actually more smoother, they showed up when they said they were going to, the team was very professional, it was all confirmed, but delivery of the item was a bit confused. I got contradictory information from their office and then from their driving staff, so at one point I was confused whether or not something was going to show up. I got wrong information from their office then I got different information from somebody else and it was confusing. They were fantastic and they showed up when they said they were going to but the communication to understand when my things would show up was confusing. So I went about a week not knowing when my things would show up. They turned out to be the most accommodating and the better deal but it wasn't a perfect experience.

That turned out very well. They were very efficient and were extremely careful in how they did things. We were satisfied. What we were really happy about was they were particularly careful with glass items. They were expensive but they were good. They were really good. They were very good with responsiveness. They were there on time. We knew when they were coming.

Just fine. Roadway's great. You should use them!

I recently used Roadway Moving, for my cross-country move from New York to Louisiana, and had an excellent experience. I think I ended up calling ~8 companies, and received quotes from $4.5k to $12k, with Roadway moving coming in at the lower to middle end. After speaking with Joseph in their sales department, I must say, he was true to his word. Not only did he guide me through the entire process, and what to expect, but he was easily reachable, at multiple points, throughout the planning, moving, and follow up process. Given the wide range of quotes, I was a bit nervous that Roadway would try to find some way to increase the cost for one thing or another, so I requested a person to come and offer an in-person quote (in addition to their online quote). I was very surprised to see that their estimate did NOT change. On moving day, the Roadway Moving team came on time, were friendly, and did an excellent job disassembling packing our heavy, solid wood, furniture, and electronics (along with boxes we packed ourselves). To give them even more credit, one piece of furniture we had (a custom made desk) - ended up having a loose leg prior to the move, so they ended up removing it to prevent it from completely breaking (And provided recommendations on delivery to get it fixed without a problem). After they picked up our furniture, it ended up taking ~10-12 days to get everything in Louisiana. The delivery team was just as friendly as the pickup team, and they went through each and every item on the list to ensure nothing was missing. I must say, I was honestly quite surprised at how smoothly the process went, and how nothing went missing, the price did not change, and we didn?t run into any hassles. We chose Roadway Moving as they were one of the best rated firms on Yelp?.and honestly, it?s for a reason. Joseph and his team did an excellent job, and I?ll be sure to make sure that everyone knows it.
