We had used Dave and Joe (DNJ Home Improvement) twice before (Kitchen & Den upgrades & Completely new bathroom) and they were awesome on both previous jobs. We expected nothing less than excellence and they, of course, delivered. The work was completed in a timely manner and at a fair price. Our deck now looks spectacular! Dave and Joe always do the work and are always prompt and very very neat. As I said in a previous review, these guys are finishers, very detail oriented and their most important concern is that the customer is satisfied with the results. They are the nicest individuals you could meet and I now consider them friends. I highly recommend them for any home improvement project.

My father ended up repairing the stairs he had and didn't want a new one, so I did not hire DNS. However, based on my experience, I would recommend them.

David and Joe did a wonderful job! Two of the nicest, professional, talented contractors I have ever dealt with. Super storm Sandy flooded and destroyed my finished basement. They did a complete renovation. Their work is impeccable. It was a pleasure having them in my home. Always punctual, constant communication with me throughout the project. Close attention to detail. They take such pride in their work, and that is reflected in the beautiful outcome. They went above and beyond. So happy!

DNJ communicated with us frequently both before and during the job and we arranged a mutually convenient time to perform the work. During the job, which lasted several days, they always came when they said they would. They replaced a water-stained dropped-tile ceiling with a sheetrock one and spackled and painted it. Their work was very neat and professional. They also replaced the folding closet doors which now open and close and align properly. They were very polite and worked to ensure that the job was done the way we wanted it done. The cleanup was impeccable. They also fixed our bathroom pocket door by relocated the screws that connected the bracket to the track. Before this, we could not open the door, and this presented major problems. They charged us a relatively nominal fee for fixing the door, which had broken after they gave us the original estimate for the job and was not included in it. The overall price was very fair and my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the overall result. We would definitely use this contractor again for future construction jobs.

Absolutely great! They were fair priced, did high quality work, were able to solve all the unexpecteds that come up in a major renovation. They kept ALL promises, were ALWAYS on time, cleaned up after themselves every day and had the highest quality of workmanship. They went above and beyond in working patiently with my cabinet contractor who was not up to DNJ's high standards. They treated my house as if it was their own. I will immediately call them for any work I need done in the house in the future without bothering to shop around. I recommend them very highly without any hesitation or reservation.

This is second time we uses DNJ. First time in Spring 2015 for wall repairs an sliding door installation. They did excellent work so we called them back for bathroom tiling work. Once again we were very satisfied with their quality of work, on time reliability and their pricing. We will certainly use them again for large or small jobs at our home.

Polite, professional, and punctual. He had several jobs going on, but managed to squeeze this one in at a time that worked for both of us. Great job at a fair price. Will absolutely keep his number handy for future work.

I had called DNJ for an estimate on the work listed above after seeing great reviews on Angies List and from the beginning, David was great at communication and came over and gave me a fair estimate for the job. A few days later, we came up with a start date for the project that was timely and reasonable. On the first day of the project, David showed up with his partner Joe and were on time and kept me updated throughout the day about how things were going and how much longer they were going to be there for that day. They made sure they payed close attention to keeping the rest of the house clean, and always left for the day making it look like they were never there. The work they did was top notch and looks flawless... the room looks incredible. They are both extremely professional, great communicators and both are very skilled. I have no complaints and would not hesitate to use them again or to share them with anyone who would need work done.

They did a great job. Quality work done in a timely manner. They were very respectful to my 83 year old mother, who was having the work done, which meant a lot.

Good communication. David was punctual and finished the job in one day. He matched the existing railing perfectly. I would definitely recommend him, and I will be using him for future projects.

This is the third time in almost two years that David and Joe have done work on our house , and as usual, they did a great job. They have by now done alot of work on our house , both interior and exterior, and the house is looking transformed! This time they cut and installed and painted shoe molding on our living room, den, stairs and staircase, and 2nd floor hallway. They also painted other areas that needed painting such as the stairway spindles, between the stairs, sides of staircase, and parts of the nearby wall. They were very meticulous and professional, as they always are, and very careful to keep all clean around by using drop cloths, and a professional vacuum, cleaning things up every day before they left. David always called to let me know when they would be coming or if they would be a little late . We are very happy with the results, and that is why we keep calling them back. They have always done the right job with honesty and integrity. We will be calling them in the future for more work, and recommend them very highly.

This is the second time we have used DNJ and once again we are very happy with the work performed. I thought installing attic stairs would be a very dirty and dusty job, but they were so neat and clean. They brought plastic, drop cloths and a shop vac to clean up after themselves...we barely had to do any extra cleaning. The finished product looks great...it looks original to the house. We plan on using them again for other projects and we would recommend them to others without hesitation.

Contractor called me within a hour of my Angie's message post by phone. We set an appointment up for the same week on Friday morning. On Thursday night I received a call telling me he had to cancel and would call me on Monday to setup another appointment. That was eight days ago and have not heard a word. Real professional.

David of DNJ Home improvements was extremely professional. He answered all phone calls followed up and made sure the job was done right. Most people I contacted never returned calls. David made sure he was on top of everything until the job as done.

David is very courteous and professional. He kept in touch with us throughout the entire process. Provided suggestions on some of the products as well as advice on enhancements as the project moved along. He was on time, is detailed oriented, very neat and easy to work with. He did a great job, love the way the bathroom looks! Highly recommend!

The first project was the removal of the door and building of the wall and removal of concrete exterior stairs. This project was absolutely flawless it was performed exactly how the contractor specified. It was a very neat work on that aspect I recommend them to anyone. The next project was the floor and here is when things turned south. A 3 to 4 day job turned into a 2 week deal. According to the contractor (David ) it was due because of the coincidental combination of unfortunate events, which only after he explained the reasons because of the delay he proceeded to finally tell me that he was not going to do the floors but was going to hire another company. At this point I just wanted to get everything done and back to normal since we ( my family) were staying at my sister's house. I have to admit that the floors do look amazing and all work was done in a professional manner, but be advised that DNJ doesn't do hard wood floors no matter what they say they will sub hire a company to do the job and definetly will mean more money for you. Other than that David is a very pleasant person to deal with, very professional in terms of how he works with material but needs to be a bit more ethical and translucent in order to avoid unpleasant surprises for the customer. I would recommend them to anyone but not for hard wood floors.

We had a very good experience using DNJ and plan on using them again in the future. They arrived on time as promised, worked quickly and neatly. We are very happy with the work performed.

The scope of the job was not part of their regular services, but they were quick to respond and were upfront with the matter. Although no services were provided, there responsiveness and professionalism would lead me to contact them again for other contracting work in the future.

Dave is very responsive. He set the right expectations, did some extra work on storm door and some closet doors (free). We communicated well, the job was scheduled with solid time frames set for the work to start a few weeks out which makes sense due to having to complete current work. I would, and actually am, using DNJ again. I do trust his judgement and feel he has my best interests at heart. Work product was great.

This is the second time we used Dave and Joe for a project in our home and we could not be more pleased (yet again). I showed them a picture of what I wanted for our staircase and they created it exactly. The molding looks amazing on our staircase wall. They are punctual, professional, and meticulous with their work and that is why we used their services again. The job only took one day.

They removed the walls in the bedroom and installed new sheet rock. Installed wood panels on ceiling. Painted room and installed crown molding on ceiling and molding around windows and floor. They removed old closet rods and doors. Painted closet, installed closet system and glass bi-fold doors. They poly urethaned the ceiling and molding. They had an electrical sub contractor install high hat lighting and a ceiling fan in the room. A flooring sub contractor sanded and finished the existing oak floor in the room. Every aspect of the room looks amazing. It looks like a room in a brand new house and our house was built in the early 50's. Our family room had a door leading out onto the deck. It was a smaller door than what is average. We wanted a larger door (36") installed. They had to make the opening bigger in order to install this new door. I was amazed by how quickly they were able to do this. We recently had the house resided and installing this door meant they had to remove some siding. They were able to replace the siding so that it looks like the door was there all the time. They are very meticulous in their work. They don't walk away from a project unless it is perfect. The new flooring in the family room went down quickly and efficiently. The finished product is beautiful. This is the 5th project Dave and Joe have done in our home and we wouldn't dream of bringing anyone else into our home to do work. There are a few more projects we want to do in our home in the future and we have Dave and Joe's number on speed dial. They arrive when they say they will and are two of the nicest guys we know. We know they are good guys because our dog Chloe loves them. You will not be disappointed if you bring these guys into your home for a project.

David was very attentive and transparent throughout the process and was willing to work with me on a permitted job. While we did not move forward with my project, I would definitely recommend David to others.
