We were in the market for carpeting, and the possibility of ordering flooring and installation for a separate room. We should have known from the outset that the service would not only be bad, but non existent. Why? Because the owner, Bashir, spent a half hour talking about his wife, and family. In between, he kept saying that anything we wanted, he could do. This is relevant because he ended up ordering the wrong carpeting. Clearly, his focus was not on getting our order correct, and the distraction of talking about his life and family proved just that. You would think that he would have checked the carpet before delivering it. He did not. When the carpet was delivered and being rolled out is when we discovered it was the wrong carpet. I called Bashir to tell him. His reaction was glib and unprofessional. His response was that 'they' must have shipped the wrong carpet. He took no responsibility for the mistake and made no sincere effort to apologize. He said he'd re-order it and let us know when it was in. That was a Thursday. On Saturday, we drove by his store and decided to stop in and see when the carpet would be ready. According to Bashir, the carpet was ready, and in the store, but he had no one to deliver it. How dare he use that as an excuse. He should have been bending over backwards to make up for the mistake of ordering and delivering the wrong carpet. The more we thought about it, the more angry we became. We were told that we'd have to wait until Tuesday. We had no recourse, so we waited. It's Tuesday morning and the phone rings. It's Bashir. He tells us he cannot deliver the carpet today because it's raining. Not only that, he then asks if Friday would be better for us. FRIDAY! This man has no concept of service and professionalism. Again, no apologies and no sincerity. Our home is less than one mile from his store, and yet he cannot deliver us this carpet. People wonder why small local businesses go out of business to the super stores?this is why. We will never do business with Bashir and Carpet Craft again. Nor should you.

We apologize for the delay in your rug delivery. It was indeed shipped incorrectly by the manufacturer. In order to insure the safety of our drivers and good condition of the merchandise, we do not deliver in situations where the local streets are flooding. We apologize that we do not have an ark in our fleet at the moment. We’re working on that. It is precisely because we are family oriented that we have successfully owned and operated our small local business for 26 years and why the big box stores will never put us out of business.
