MFS MASONRY

First I want to say. I love my new patio. Everyone who has seen loves it. It came out better that I expected. If you are like us we had, pictures, images and ideas of what we wanted our patio to look like. He made all our wishes and desires come to life. We first contratced DMAC Design & Development for the job which turned out to be a nightmare. DMAC stole our money and never completed the work. You can imagine how distrusting and upset we were now looking for another contractor to fix and complete the work DMAC left us with. We inteviewed few potiental contractors, but what won Mike he job was his understanding our we felt and knowing we were very nervous after our recent experience getting another contractor. I was ready to give up completely and just forget about getting a patio done this year. Estimates were high and we alreay we already down $9,000 and nothing to show for it. However, Mike requested no money until the the job was complted in full. How could we refuse an offer like that and it put to rest all our fears, concerns and worrires immediately. Not to mention his knowlegdge and very professional manner. Mike corrected the damage and garbage left by DMAC. He brought all the materials and didnt receive any payment from us till nearly all the work was finished. He was at home everyday on time once the work began and until it was done. He completed a job that other contractors said would cost us twice as much and longer to complete in a week. Mike dug the yard up and built a new foundation for the pavers, built a curved, retaining wall, steps in the center of it and in the sides. He even placed a pattern design pavers with a fire pit on one side of the patio and in addition a circular design kit was placed in the cneter of the patio. We also didn't have enough to cover the additional requested we made of steps and firepit which was not in the original contract. It was something when the patio was being done we decided we wanted done. Mike did it for us and allowed us to pay him for the additions we requested after the XMAS. He was honest, fair and responsible. Is it really great to now there are still some honest contractors out there with execellent skilld. Ff you are need of a Masonry look no further he the one you want. My only dont is I should have first checked Angie List and hired Mike from the very beginning.

They were alright. There was only 1 step to fix.

Mike and his crew dug up our ancient cement walkway and installed beautiful new pavers. The finished work looks great and he did it for half of what our landscaper had quoted us. Mike is great to work with and we will definitely be using his company in the future.

Masonary work won't come cheap , and it shouldn't . It's structural, and in this case outdoors on a mountainside . Mikes work is first class with " the right way" of doing things and in our case at least very prompt and executed in a relatively short time period Very responsive and his guys clean the site up well, no debris left behind You might find someone cheaper ( by a little ) but you won't find anybody better

Everything went really well. His crew showed up as scheduled. They worked very hard and put in long days. They took pride in their work and it truly showed in the quality of the end result. They cleaned up after themselves each day and did not leave a mess. They even brought in extra topsoil to fill I and to leave it seed ready for us to plant more grass.

As a former home improvement contractor with "15" years of experience, I always told my customers the best way to choose a contractor was by "word of mouth". Fast forward to the current time-frame, and I have become a fan of Angie's List, since essentially it is a storehouse of customers who have had experiences with the various contractors available. Since I have the skills necessary to pretty much solve all my own construction problems, I am reluctant to "pay" someone else to handle them. However, I also realize that sometimes time and circumstance interfere with timely completion of various projects. Mike Sheehan, the owner of MFS Masonry, answered my query in short order, and visited my home within a mutually convenient time period. Affable, witty, friendly, and very knowledgeable, Mike surveyed the area, took some quick but accurate measurements, and he wrote me a quote before he left. I telephoned him at least two more times over the next several days with some other questions, and he answered directly and honestly. After some brief delays due to the weather, Mike's crew arrived on Thursday, May 8, and raised the old pavers, excavated the underlayment, removed the railroad ties, and demolished the front steps, after verbally insuring that we had other access to the house. The "4" guys worked a total of "12" hours each, efficiently moving materials without disturbing/damaging the surrounding environs. During this time Mike was not present onsite for the whole time period, but rather, trusting his able-bodied workers, informed my wife that he would be visiting with other potential customers and provided her with his cell-phone number in case there were any issues. He returned frequently during the day, both inspecting the site, and conferring with my wife to see once again if there were any concerns. Friday, May 9 was a carbon-copy of Thursday, but this time the installation of the new pavers was completed, and with adequate pitch to insure proper drainage into an edge-drain installed between the pool deck and the actual patio. "One" man constructed the entire front steps on his own, insuring that it was both level and square....believe me, I checked! Rainfall interrupted the last step of the process which was to sweep polymeric sand to lock the patio pavers in place, but Mike's guys returned on Monday, May 12 to complete the job! Their workmanship is superior, their attitude was professional, friendly and helpful, and the job was completed in a record "2" days, if you discount the weather delay. The true test of course, is how will wifey like it...because as the saying goes..."Happy Wife, Happy Life!" Wifey loves it! Done....

Mike and his crew did a wonderful job and really transformed my yard into something I always wanted. These guys are professionals and very good at their craft.. Will high again ....

The service turned out fair. They patched the stairs, but it was more of a selling point. It was a big thing why we should have all this work done. I didn't pay anything more than the $99 for the big deal. I think they were looking for big jobs at expensive rates, and today's economy is not looking for that. I think most homeowners are looking for big deals and would buy the services, if they were reasonable, but they were not. They were alright, it's just that they had a very big sell thing, and it just wasn't what we were looking for. We were looking to replace some stairs, and they were quoting over $1000. They do very nice work though if you have the money. Their punctuality was very good. I doubt I would use their services, because they scared me with the pricing.

Mike and his crew started by hanging tarps to keep any dust in the work are and to protect the floor. The were polite, courteous and responsive to our requests for the 3 days they were on site. They even asked to late when possible. The quality of their work is second to none. I've received so many compliments on their work. The whole experience was AWESOME!

Everything turned out very well. Mike oversaw the work while he had a couple crew members complete the job. They were very good about being on time and doing what they needed to do. They were friendly, courteous, and cleaned up very well after the job was complete.

It turned out fine. I had them do about $4000 worth of work plus the big deal. I would definitely recommend them. They were very professional, they showed up on time and explained exactly what they said they were going to do. They gave me some different options of what I can do to improve on what has been previously done. So I was happy.

I purchased a Angies Deal from this company for fours hours of work. He brought three guys and divided the time up between the three. Ended up costing me more money but the work I needed done was completed. Obviously companies use these deals to get more work from it but there is a good way and a bad way to go about doing that.

They repaired cracks around my swimming pool and on the concrete foundation for my central air-conditioning.

Mike was great. After I bought the deal, Mike contacted me within a day and we setup a date for him to come out and provide and estimate. He was prompted and professional.

I was disappointed in the deal because it would not have made a big dent on the cost of the project. I was thinking it looked like a great deal to get this done for $99.00. Since this was not essential for the house we ended up not going through with it. I liked MFS Masonry it just seemed like a bogus deal. I don't see how 4 hours of masonry work could be helpful to anyone. When I need masonry work, I will call them, but the deal was a disappointment.

Very responsive to all calls - flexible with appointments - provided clear overview and made suggestions - managed and stuck to start and duration of job. Completed job very quickly, removed all debris and left property very clean. Gave five year warranty. Looks great!!!!! Mike is your man!

Mike came by to look at the chimney and informed work would not be needed at this time due to overall good condition of my chimney. He was professional and courteous, I would use him in the future when needed. Thanks.

The owner called me almost immediately after I placed the order for the special $99 rate and we set the appointment for 11 a.m. this morning. He called around 10:40 to apologize saying he was running later snd would arrive at 11:30 if that would be ok with me. He arrived on time and was very courteous. The work I need done is repairing a brick driveway which needs segment of cement replaced and is an impossible job to estimate but he told me of his hourly costs and, although the job will be expensive, I may cchoose him for the job. In the meantime I am going to ask him to do a contained area that he was able to describe in such a manner that even I could make an informed decision. I was stunned by his rapid response and am very very happy with my Angie's list membershi

excellent contractor is a man of his word

Mr. Sheehan and his crew were excellent. They showed up every morning at the same time and were very professional. At the end of each day they would clean up and not leave the yard looking like a mess. There prices were very reasonable as well. I was very satisfied with the results of the job completion and will used them again in the future.

It appears that there was a big misunderstanding. However, I cannot withdraw my review. Therefore, my review shows a grade of B. I have chosen not to use this provider in the future because I do not need any other work in his area of expertise.

Mike Sheehan was professional in every way. When we met with Mike Sheehan initially to discuss our ideas, he gave us several suggestions or alternatives that could be used to integrate the existing stone work in the yard with the new plan for the stairs. He did an excellent job of helping us to visualize the possible results. We felt very confident with the plan we decided upon and felt the estimate her gave us was very fair. The project began when promised and the work started on time every day. His crew worked efficiently and meticulously. Every cut was precise and the blocks integrated perfectly. There was a daily clean up, and when the job was completed, our yard was left clean and neat. The finished products were beyond our expectations and we are very pleased. Two of our neighbors have already asked for Mike's information to have him possibly do work for them in the future. We will surely hire MFS again for our next project.

A+ job was done on entire project. The work crew were skilled, proffessional and hard working. All of the stone work was done with great care and is truly a work of art. The entire project was done over the course of about 2 weeks. The contractor was very intent on making sure that we were happy with the job and was a pleasure to work with. The result is a stunning transformation to the look of our house and my wife and I are very happy with the outcome.

Very well, samples were delivered and our visit to the landscape yard was beneficial.
