Greg and his team overall were great. They were prompt and polite. The issue is the nightmare and damage done after by the individual Felipe for the tile work once Greg was finished. Felipe in contrast was rushed and didn't care. They didn't have spacers for the outlets after installing the tile and we had to buy our own or have no functional stove or hood. Both Felipe and his worker installed tiles that were crooked and also missed grout in several areas. Felipe came back once to fix some tiles but never finished the job by filling in the grout he missed. When removing the exhaust fan to tile was told he'd put it back exactly how he found it. Instead the exhaust fan is slightly off center not a big deal but then the worker damaged the $500 Kobe exhaust fan due to rushing to finish the job. Instead of using a screw driver the worker drilled a hole into the side and stripped the plastic for the screws. Then lost the two dark chrome original screws replacing them with bright silver oversized screws and installing the cover incorrectly.

I hired Go West Electric to install an outlet for my garbage disposal and fix a broken doorbell. They came recommended from the prior owner of my home but it took several phone calls to schedule an appointment. The price was good and the outlet installation was done perfectly. However, the doorbell repair was a disaster. The workers found the existing cable was shorted out and suggested removing the door frame to attempt the repair. They extensively damaged the wall to remove the frame but were able to reconnect the wires. The doorbell worked for about a day or two and then shorted out again after hammering in a hook to the same wall. I called Greg Westcott about 6 times before he accidentally picked up the phone when dialing from a different number. He berated me for bothering him about the job and complained that he was "too busy to deal with this" because he was being sued (for reasons I can't remember). At the end of the day I lost $50 and several hours of time to repair the damages done. What was more irritating though was how extremely insulting he spoke with me on the phone and the fact he can't be troubled to return phone calls. Absolutely the worst - stay away.

Mu husband and I have known Greg Wescott from 25 years ago when he was an apprentice electrician. We have been his customers from the moment he became Go West Electric and would not use anyone one else!! All of Greg's crew are hardworking, trustworthy, and true professionals. When you pull permits for renovations, there are always electrical rough in inspections. The inspectors are from an independent firm and always pay the highest compliments to Go West Electric's work. Go West Electric has also responded to our short notice requests and always accommodated us in a timely manner. My husband and I have another huge project coming up in a few weeks and Go West Electric; Greg Westcott and crew, will be handling all our electrical needs once again.

Most disappointing, disrespectful and abusive experience ever with ANY contractor. The owner, Greg Westcott himself was the culprit here. Untrustworthy, inattentive to details, undependable, insolent and arrogant. Misrepresented work done. I don't believe all these other reviews rating him highly because people's true characters are consistent. My encounter with his true nature was not once or twice or thrice, but several times spanning across direct face to face interaction, by phone, email and texts on multiple occasions. He totally lacks any iota of manners. Truly, truly, the very, very, very, WORST!

Excellent.

They were punctual and very conscientious in taking care that all was done without interruption to our computer equipment

They installed a whole house surge protector breaker.

We couldn't be happier, thank you to Gregg and his staff.

I can not praise enough the work they did. Arrived on time and got right to work. Professional, very competent, very pleasant to have in house. Best of all, everything works again! Truly surprised at the final cost - thought for sure it would be more because they spent so much time just figuring out what the problem (or, in our case 2 unrelated problems) were.

I am happy with the job Greg's guys did with upgrading our service. They are a little pricier than I originally expected, but the cost is worth it. They are strict on themselves to make sure all work is up to code properly. They were professional and thorough. I highly recommend their services. I'll be having them back to set up central air!a

I took this long to send this review because I only recently found a problem with their wiring.

By code a receptacle must be placed near the outside AC equipment for servicing. I recently went to use it and it did not work. I opened the box and removed the receptacle but the wiring was OK. I then went inside to the box it was tapped in to and found the wiring was not connected to power wires but to wires for a 3 way switch which was incorrect and careless.

I was going to let this next problem go but as long I am writing this review I may as well include it. I was told the unit required a 15 amp circuit breaker but he only had a 20 amp with him. He promised he would replace it the following week. After eight weeks and numerous calls I gave up and replaced it myself. I called to let him know what I did and he only offered excuses but no offer to reimburse me for the cost.

These problems were small in comparison to the whole job but it goes to show a lack of professionalism.

Go West was great from start to finish. The price was slightly higher than I would have liked, but it was a fairly big job, and the previous owners paid for it as part of the home sale, so I can't complaint too much. I spoke to Greg several times to make arrangements before the job, and his crew was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. They removed an ancient 100A panel (complete with glass fuses) and replaced it with a new 200A panel. They also replaced/repaired several poor connections at other locations in the basement, helped us wire and hang 2 fixtures in the kitchen, and attempted to move a lamp from the dining room to the bedroom before realizing it wouldn't be possible since the previous owner had rewired the lamp in such a way as to make it a code violation (this revelation saved us a potential headache with the town, as well as avoided a major fire hazard that we never would have known about had Greg's guys not volunteered to help move the lamp free of charge). I've got a few projects planned for this year, and I'm hoping to use Go West for all of them.

Their price was above average. I thought they were good. They did a good job. They came when they were asked; they didn't leave me hanging. They addressed the problem. It took them a little trouble to figure it out, but they came when they were supposed to and they completed the job.

Greg responded to my call immediately and came over to give me an estimate. The job was completed in a timely manner and professionally done. Greg explained the scope of the work and the reason for the cost. He is professional and timely and I would recommend him for major work.
In late May 2013, I had a few lights out and couldn't figure out the reason. It was an emergency since a new tenant was moving in the following day. Despite his extremely busy schedule he stopped by and discovered a tree leaning against some electrical wires. It took him little time to understand the problem and recommend a solution.

Greg completed all electrical upgrades to my 1920 cottage on Long Island and filed for an underwriter's certificate. He is very skilled and I would highly recommend Greg for any job -- major or minor. He is professional, skilled and his pricing is very fair. He will explain all the details of the job and the pricing structure.

Go West was subcontracted as part of adding a 240 volt outlet for a ductless split in the basement as part of a deal with TFO'Brien and Co. The person who was sent out was technically capable and completed the work according to code. He however ruined the look of the false roofing. He broke one of panes. He made unfinished holes in the sheetrock. I just found out, he added tension to the existing duct work, by forcibly threading the wire over the dryer vent duct, bucking it. I now have to replace the duct work, due to damage.
I'm not generalizing on the whole business, but this particular field worker that I got was not the greatest.
