Absolutely terrible service. They did an awful job on my railing and damaged my existing posts. Please do not use them!
Response from Liberty Fence & Railing
"Existing condition and existing holes in the customer’s porch column were there and we retrofitted the best we could. After seeing photos, the work looks acceptable."

It has been two years and I still am so upset every time I look at my fence. They lowered the fence and now I see more of the busy boulevard and trucks. They did not start and end the fence in the right places so when my neighbor replaced their fence they took 2 feet of my yard. In addition they moved the fence closer and I lost property to the boulevard and now the noise is closer to me. They did not put the fence around the tree the way I wanted it and the door in the fence does not fit correctly. They take most of your money up front. When I said I would not pay the last few hundred dollars when they already had over $5,000 I was threatened by the workers. The office was nasty. So with my money sunk and totally frightened by the worker I am traumatized every time I go out in my back yard. I am compelled to every year warn you not to use this fence company.
Response from Liberty Fence & Railing
"We install with the customer being home for their input. To reinstall the fence is a cost that we need not absorb if changes happen after the installation and posts are concreted in the ground."

The salesperson seemed professional and responsive. Once the contract was signed there was very poor communication between the office and me regarding scheduling of the work. I waited up to 7 days without calls being returned. Scheduling was very poor. Work was delayed almost 8 weeks because of overbooking jobs. When I asked for return of my deposit I was told that the contract was binding and if I turned the workers away they would keep my deposit (over $2k). When I called on the day of the job because I was told by the workmen that there would be 60 pails of dirt that would be excavated and left on my property I was reminded that this was in the contract although it had not been discussed with me prior to the job by either the salesman or the office. Unfortunately, I became irate, which is not normally in my character, and the owner of the company hung up on me while his workmen were at my house waiting to start he job. O the end the work was done well. However, I would not recommend this company due to their poor customer service.

Horrible company. Nothing but headaches. Shop around and check reviews and the BBB complaints, not the BBB ratings which are calculated in a manner to benefit the businesses that support the BBB, but the complaints folks write about that were not resolved. They sub out the installation so you are at the mercy of the crew you get. The company itself does not stand by the installation or come to inspect the work itself. Salesman will say anything to get you to sign, then you never hear from them if you have an issue. They tell you to call the office and you will never get a callback. Again, horrible company

Sales consultation went fine, not pushy or obnoxious. The trouble began when trying to obtain a permit from the town. Went to the town to get a permit only to find the proof of insurance they had on file had expired. Upon calling the company the girl who sounded like she didn't know what I was talking about, asked her "boss" and told me a new one would be faxed over in a few hours, which it never was (half my day wasted). Day two at the building department went about the same except this time the "boss" came to the phone and declared angrily, " I faxed it yesterday" and "those people at the dept. don't know what their doing" she told me she would fax it again and hung up. When the building dept received the fax they showed me the issue was she was faxing and re-faxing the same EXPIRED document! I immediately called Liberty back but the woman went on a "break" and could not be reached (another morning of my time wasted). The install day, workers arrived promptly and did the install. I was not home to watch them install the sections. It was honestly such a small project for a "professional" fencing company I did not think I needed to watch them for them to get it right. The result is none of the posts are level with one another and the post which latches to one gate is slanted to one side. When the gate is closed there is a clear difference in the gap at the bottom and the gap at the top. At the top the gate nearly touches the post and at the bottom there is a 2"+ gap.

Fence companies on Long Island are dime a dozen. Naturally, each of them has a pitch of why they are better or different than the others. So homeowners, like myself, would need to do due diligence to pick the right (perfect) one that fits their need, when it comes to cost, quality, and service. After I interviewed about 10 companies in 5 months and I'm glad to have picked Liberty Fence for my 6' PVC privacy fence and aluminum gate. Here's the reason why: 1) Quality - I learned quite a bit about fence quality after doing some research. Liberty Fence manufactures their own fence using the highest quality pure virgin vinyl. Other companies that provide lower cost tend to have below par materials that are usually recycled. This will cause longevity issues in performance with the fence including discoloration, cracking, etc. Liberty Fence provides double virgin heavy duty materials to their direct customers. So from a buyer's perspective, this was a no brainer for me! (Tip: Check-out their YouTube page) 2) Cost - I believe the old adage that 'you get what you pay for'. After learning the 'average' cost of the work that I need, Liberty Fence was not the cheapest nor the most expensive - they were average in cost, but competitive as well. What I love about Liberty Fence was they were very flexible with the 'value-add' offering, the warranty, and just general service. This made the difference to me. 3) Service - I was impressed even starting with Dennis the salesperson all the way to the gentleman who came back to make some adjustments (weeks after the installation). People usually buy from people because they 'like' or trust them. In my experience, the guys at Liberty Fence - sales, installers, owner including store support, have been top notch. Anthony, the owner, has been terrific to me. He provided great communications, extremely responsive and always gave the right solutions! He managed my expectations properly and delivered as promised. The installation was delivered and completed on time. I requested for some adjustments after the fence settled-in, they came back and fixed with no issues. The installers were very friendly and professional. Overall, I believe that I made a solid decision in selecting Liberty Fence and I strongly believe that my investment in my fence was very well spent, given all the highest quality product and service that I received. Thank you very much, Anthony and Liberty Fence team! Disclosure: I did not receive any compensation for this review. This review is my unbiased feedback and review based on my experience.

Liberty Fence installed a railing for my side steps. The guy who came to do the estimate was great, the railing is very nice and the installation very professional. However, the office staff is quite awful. They made mistake after mistake about my installation date and time. And some of them were downright rude to me. My interactions with them brought my grade down to a B, otherwise it would've been an A.

The installation was late. The manager lied about coming out to see the job before installation. Worst of all the customer service was despicable. Cannot say enough bad things.

I signed a contract with them on May 27, 2015. I was told about 3-4 weeks (stated on contract) for the start of the work. They called about 2 weeks later to say that they were coming next week. Then called the next week to say they were coming in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks I received a call that they were coming the next day ( while I was at work), since they didn't get in touch with me they didn't show. I finally had the fence installed (not the gate) July 18th, 2015. They came on August 1st, 2015 to install the gate, but since they forgot the drill bit they couldn't do it. I called that day to reschedule and was told they would call me back. Here we are August 6th, 2015 and I had to call them, only to be told that someone will call me back (again). I will never use them again for anything or recommend them to anyone. They haven't even offered me any type of compensation for my inconvenience.

The crew was amazing, First our salesman was Don he came to measure twice. Told us how long it takes , 2 1/2 weeks later Liberty called told us the removal and installation date. Crew came an removed all old chain link fence installed new poles. Installed the 6 ft back yard fence. told us they would be back the following Friday but Liberty called me and asked if they can come back Aug 5th .That was quick! They finished installing the chain link fence and filled in the cement on the new poles and hung our gates. Needless to say the weather was hot and humid. These guys were Fantastic. stayed until all little wires were picked up from my driveway and no garbage left, just our brand new fence! My hats off to those hard working guys, cannot say enough for them. Don told us exactly what and will happened during the process and its soooooo True. we did not mind waiting but everything came quick. Again Beautiful Fence and the neighbors really love it even from across the street.
hint..post you permit in the front window. We live in Valley Stream it cost $40 bucks. Do it the right way the first time.
Thank You Don and liberty Fence Company for a Great Job!

I'll start by saying I myself am in a similar industry where customer perception constantly battles reality and setting expectations in that environment is extremely difficult. Knowing where they're coming from, I always approach working with providers with an unusual amount of benefit of the doubt, patience and flexibility.

The sales person and estimate process was fine. Nothing great, nothing poor.

The installation took 4 weeks to happen (weather was not a significant issue) and when it did, the installer pointed out problems that and quot;your sales person should have told you and my boss should have told meand quot;. They threatened to leave the jobsite if I couldn't get a landscaper in (same day) to address issues that I should have been told about 4 weeks ago so I had lead time to address it. The cost of the job rose significantly having to pay a landscaper to drop what they're doing and come take care of the issues the installer had.

The fact that there were issues to address is not the problem, I get it - they install fences not landscape - but telling me the morning of the install after waiting 4 weeks is ridiculous. The issues were something only a fence company would be able to identify so I had no idea prior that XYZ would be a problem and the sales person who came didnt identify those issues either. I paid DOUBLE what I would have just to have someone come same day.

I was put in the the middle of the company's process/communication and the go between for the installer and the main office fighting about who failed to do what job on their end in terms of communication, measuring etc. it was uncomfortable. Poor form liberty fence, poor form.

Their main office and overall attitude is poor, confusing and comes off disorganized. They gave the impression they were clueless about their own process and the progress of my project. The overall tone from the office was dismissive, and short. Let me reiterate that I am no pain in the a**, I didnt have outlandish questions or expectations.

They appeared to lack patience, polish. and understanding of the feedback the residential market is clearly providing.

To be clear, I will not be using Liberty Fence again. I will be proactively suggesting people go elsewhere with their business. Fencing is expensive, no one deserves the Liberty Fence experience

**update**
Anthony, the owner called to apologies for the experience after receiving our feedback.

Sales person was very knowledgeable and experienced. He explained the whole process including installation, delays that may be incurred due to weather and options available. It did take about 8 weeks from the date the contract was signed to get the fence installed. This was mostly due to the wx, which was explained to me by the salesman. The biggest thing I appreciated was their communication. They were very clear about the whole process, how long it can potentially take, and the cost. I picked this company because they were also very responsive and they were the middle price in estimate. I didnt go for the high or low bidders. Its been about 9 months since the install and we are very happy with the fence.
