Tri-State is the manufacturer and installer of premium quality vinyl windows and patio doors. We do the entire job ourselves, no subcontractor or middleman! Tri-State builds them, installs them and we guarantee them.
My husband and I were shopping around to replace some of our windows and front door. We took an estimate from four different window companies and decided to go w/ Tri State Window Factory Corp. We met with a salesman by the name of Paul who explained step by step how our windows and door were going to be installed and took his time in helping us choose the best styles that would suit our home. We chose their top of the line double hung windows 5400 series b/c our main concern was having the best insulation and reinforcement possible. My husband and I were very impressed with the construction of the windows. We ordered a fiber glass mahogany door w/ stained glass which was absolutely beautiful! The installation team came 3 weeks from the time we placed the order and were very precise and professional with installing our windows and door in a timely manner. We are extremely happy with Tri State Windows, from the initial quote stage to the final completion they have made every step of the way a pleasurable experience. Each and every one of the employees we have dealt with were fantastic. We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family. Our neighbor just signed a contact with them last Sunday for windows and siding and I know he will be just as impressed. Thank you Paul and your valuable team!

After suffering for several years with our old, drafty single-pane windows, we decided to make the much-needed upgrade to insulated replacement windows. We chose Tri-State Window Factory of Deer Park, NY. In addition to feeling confident in our decision because of Tri-State's high ratings on Angie's List, we liked that the company not only installs windows, but manufactures and warrantees them for life as well. Our research showed that the quality of the windows is very high, and they are more energy-efficient than those produced by other manufacturers. With the exception of two small garage windows, Tri-State Window Factory replaced EVERY window in our home - a total of twenty-nine. Our new windows are all foam-filled aluminum reinforced frames with Triple-Pane, Double Low-E, Krypton gas-filled glass. The project took only two days to complete and went very smoothly. Tri-State's foreman - Stanley, and his crew - Lawrence and Tony were a pleasure to have in our home. These gentlemen were not only capable, but conducted themselves in a very professional manner. They were punctual, polite and personable. They cleaned up so thoroughly by the time the installation was done that one could hardly tell they were ever there. We are extremely happy we made the decision to use Tri-State Factory.

MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED WINDOWS FROM TRISTATE WINDOW FACTORY CORP. IN JANUARY 2013.PRIOR TO HIRING TRISTATE WE RESEARCHED OUR OPTIONS FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR.AFTER COMPARING ALL THE DIFFERENT BRANDS OF WINDOWS AND SPEAKING WITH DIFFERENT REPS, WE THOUGHT IT WAS BEST TO GO WITH TRISTATE. WE ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY WE DID, BECAUSE WE CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. OUR SALES REP. WAS THOROUGH AND VERY KNOWLEDGLEBLE IN BEING ABLE TO ANSWER ALL OF MY HUSBAND'S QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS. AFTER WE SIGNED, THEY SENT THEIR MEASURER TO OUR HOME TO TAKE ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS. HE TOOK HIS TIME AND EXPLAINED THE WHOLE OPERATION OF HOW THE INSTALLATION WILL TAKE PLACE. HE WAS A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN OUR HOME. WE RECIEVED A PHONE CALL THE VERY NEXT DAY IN REFERENCE TO SCHEDULING AN INSTALLATION DATE. ON THE DAY OF INSTALATION A WINDOW CREW OF 3 MEN SHOWED UP BRIGHT AND EARLY READY TO DO THEIR JOB. THEY MADE SURE TO USE DROP CLOTHS SO THAT TO PROTECT OUR FLOORS AND WORKED DILIGENTLY AROUND THE CLOCK UNTIL THE JOB WAS COMPLETE AND MY HUSBAND AND I WERE MORE THAN SATISFIED. THE CREW THAT DID THE INSTALL WAS GREAT. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, EFFICIENT AND CONSIDERATE. TRISTATE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS AND WE WILL DEFINATLEY BE RECOMMENDING THEM TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Workmen arrived on time, worked quietly and efficiently, cleaned up all debris and left me with new windows that will last for years. After losing a sliding glass door and large window to Hurricane Sandy I called Tri-State who I have used and recommended in the past. The experience was horrible. Door came in before the window so I needed two different install dates. Install of window never happened because after charging me to reframe the window they decided not to do that and without my knowledge measured the window wrong and tried to talk me into settling for an improper install into masonry. I learned that the guy that measures is not the guy that installs and the install guy had no idea he was suppose to reframe window. The supervisor of the install depart was nasty and treated me as if I had no idea what a proper install entailed, my guess is because I'm a women. I did receive a call from one of the principals trying to make it right but it was way to late.

Response from Tri-State Window Factory Corp
In response to the review above yes there was a miscommunication on one window. The window was going into a brick opening. The customer wanted the opening to have been framed before the window was installed. The salesman wrote it that way. The measurer overlooked that on the order form and measured the window to be installed brick to brick, which is the most common type of installation 90% of the the installations in brick openings. The order called for one patio door and one window with mini blinds in between the glass. The door is available immediatley because they come in 5, 6, or 8 foot standard sizes. The mini blinds for the windows have to be ordered they are a specialty item. After the windows are measured then we order the mini blinds for in between the glass and that requires time. The customer was very anxious to get the window and door in. So we offered to do the door first, so that her contractor could continue to finish his other work. When we went to install the window it was then discovered that it was measured brick to brick and not smaller so that it could be built in. According to installation department the customer was very upset and called the office. The installation department agreed that there had been a miscommunication however they indicated to her that if she had been home at the time of measuring he would have talked to her about not putting wood behind because it doesn't look as good. If we measured it that way for all other customers they would say that we mismeasured and made it smaller and now have to build it in with wood fillers. In our building in Deer Park , which is brick, our windows are brick to brick. The customer was very upset with our installtion department's explanation and hung up the phone. When I found out, as the owner of the company, I called the customer as I always do and offered my apoplogies. I told her that I had called the mini blind manufacturer myself and asked them to double or triple charge me and send out the blind even red label to get it as fast as possible. They gave me a delivery date of five days. I gave the customer two choices, one was if she accepted the window brick to brick to take a substantial amount off or we would have the window installed in five to seven days and we would still compensate her and take money off the purchase price. She said no she wanted to cancel the window. We tried to persuade the customer to allow us within five to seven days to give her what she wanted and make it right. We wanted the opportunity to give her what ahe wanted and she refused. We accepted her wishes and cancelled the window. We had no deposit for the window, we received the balance for the patio door.

Having windows installed during the winter is not ideal as the installers, although they did a good job were not so cognizant in closing the bedroom/front door so that cold air wouldn't travel throughout the rest of the home even when I asked/reminded them. Live next to the highway so had some high expectations when the sales person told me the triple pane windows would decrease the noise level significantly (hence we had the windows installed asap during this cold period). Unfortunately for us, it wasn't the case. Salesperson also noted the wrong exterior color. When the 'measurer' came to measure our windows he had noticed and brought in color swatch cards to show me the correct color (so that it would match the other windows). I'm glad that got corrected before the windows were made. Otherwise, everything else was executed fine.
Description of Work: Had windows in our 2 bedrooms replaced with custom triple-pane windows (we have large windows, one opening is 3 connected single casement windows).

The roofing crew came first and had to strip off all my old roof because I already had 2 layers of shingles. The crew was large so they were able to tear the old shingles off and install the new roof in one day. It looked great and it was a big relief since rain was forecast for the next afternoon. I had no problems, but my neighbor did. He used a local guy who had one helper and it took 4 days for his roof to be finished. He had damage from the rain because the tarp didn't keep all of the rain out. The windows were replaced by Carlos & his crew. They were great. They replaced the windows with exact replacements of the damaged windows and showed fine craftsmanship in repairing the damage to the frame and trim caused by the tree. Very nice guys and they even replaced the interior moldings and sills that were damaged. Carlos also replaced my front door. I really liked the ones that Tri-State had, but I shopped around before making my decision. There were some at the "big box" stores that were a little less money, but they were nowhere near the same quality. My brother had bought a fiberglass door at one of those places and it de-laminated after only about 5 years. Tri-State's door has a lifetime warranty and the quality is obvious. I also bought a new matching storm door. Carlos installed both with the same degree of craftsmanship he showed with the windows. All in all, it was a pleasure to deal with Tri-State again. They are a long-established family company with high standards. They have top-notch products and they have great people installing them. You can just tell that they have great pride in their work. Usually, I only write letters to complain about poor services or products, but when a company does something well, it deserves to be recognized. There aren't enough companies around like that.
Description of Work: I had damage from Hurricane Sandy. I lost part of my roof and had several windows and a door damaged by falling tree limbs. I had used Tri-State a couple of years ago to install siding and replace my windows and they had done a great job, so I called them first for an estimate. Being a value-conscious person, I also called 2 other companies for estimates. Tri-State came right out to look over the damage and give me an estimate. After repeated phone calls, I finally got people from the other companies to come out. They weren't nearly as professional as the Tri-State guy and tried to inflate the cost by fixing things that didn't really need to be repaired. I guess they thought that they'd get away with it because of the insurance claim involved. It left a bad taste in my mouth, so I went with Tri-State. They were the most honest and they were also the least expensive for the work that needed to be done, plus I knew from past experience that they did great work.

Good, could have been GREAT if not for a few "customer service" mishaps.
Description of Work: The overall experience with Tri-State is good. The salesman, Daniel Kang was upfront, direct and responsive to our needs. Wrote up the contract and the estimate on 10/16/2012. We put down a significant amount of down payment and the process of measurement, manufacturing and installation of the windows commenced within the five weeks given to us by Daniel. We also had the roof done and the sidings replaced. The window installers were superb, professional and clean! All in all the window installation took a total of four hours from beginning to end including tear down and clean up. There was a gap of time of about two and a half weeks before our roof and sidings work started. We did follow up with Daniel and the people doing the labor for the work and like all contractors. No one is on the same page. BTW, Tri State's customer service person at their office is the RUDEST, UNPROFESSIONAL person we have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. We had a small commotion with the sub con, project manager, sales person and the operator at the Tri-State office. All of them could not figure out when to schedule the dumpster drop date. Due to weather delay, the dumpster delivery had to be re-scheduled. The so called "Customer Service" agent at Tri-State tried to contact our home number and given cell phone backup contact. That phone conversation never happened because the line was supposedly got disconnected when the initial contact to reach us at our home number. Since it was a working day, we then decided to contact the Tri-State office. Tri-State also left a message on my wife's cellphone by this time, and mind you, whoever called her (my wife) DID NOT LEAVE a name. Upon conversing with the "customer service" lady, she had a high up tone of voice and continued to yell at my wife asking: "Who called you?" My wife explained the situation about the issue at hand... the "customer service" lady then said: "You shouldn't be contacting me or asking me about your project because I really have no idea." This is upsetting to say the least so I called Daniel and gave him a mouth full because who ever that lady is... she mistreated my wife and disrespected her. As a customer, we are not really asking for VIP treatment, just common courtesy with a little bit of professionalism. BTW, she also refused to give out her name when asked. Another issue with this lady came up when payment settlement was due... on the phone trying to settle the problem, the probably the same lady gave us an attitude because we called at 4:45 PM. She indicated that it was late for her because she leaves at 5:00. At this point, I held my breathe and said Thank you thinking that if I could kill her with kindness maybe she will change her tone of voice. Tri-State, I am sure you read all the reviews religiously. Daniel Kang was impeccable in setting the timeline, performing the demo and giving us competitive pricing. Your labor subcons or your your labor team is professional, clean and has incredible workmanship skills. Your customer service person at your office unfortunately gives you a very bad reputation. Whoever she is that we dealt with, should be relegated to other non-customer facing duties. Because we are considerate and respectable individuals, I wouldn't even ask to fire the person. We all make mistakes and I know in our hearts that her inability to serve as a customer service person is not entirely her fault. This might be a managerial problem or a training issue. Good luck to you and your team. Thank you for your work!

We had some damage due to Hurricane Sandy, so we decided it was time to change all of the windows that hadn't previously been changed. After getting a number of estimates we decided to go with Tri-State. We are SO HAPPY we did!!! Everyone was extremely professional, from the salesman to the measurer, to the crew that did the work. We went with the Triple Pane windows, and they are really great! We can already feel the difference in our home. I will not hesitate to recommend Tri-State to my friends and family!!

The experience was great. Searched Angie's list, and narrowed search down to 3 vendors. Tri-State was the first selection we chose to visit. After dealing with Andrew, we opted out of the other 2 visits. Tri-State offered it all - they had a great selection at the showroom-measured-custom made-and installed the unit (3 long casements under 3 fixed windows). They offered triple pane glass all within 1 frame. The quote was on-the-money. Once the old window was out, the sill had to be replaced, as well as the framing & trim. The installers were perfection - true professionals . Then job was tedious, but they worked tirelessly, and did a great job. Once completed, they removed all the old debris - even clean-swept the interior. I'm a Senior, and they explained everything they were doing as they went - showing me the advantages of their extra insulation and why this unit was so good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I must also note that everyone we dealt with at Tri-State, from the Receptionist to the Sales staff, to the Installers, was warm and friendly - exceptional.
Description of Work: Replaced front casement windows with custom replacement. Rebuilt interior trim & sill. Quality far exceeded expectations. This is the second Angie's list recommendation, and I must say - THANK YOU, ANGIE.

Part 1, windows I'm writing my review in parts because I'm getting new windows and siding. As of now Tri-State has installed 14 windows and 1 patio door. I can't express how very happy we are with the crew they sent to our home. They were Incredibly polite. They did a first class job. Our yard was spotless when they were done. I LOVE my windows. They are made incredibly well. It has made the outside noise go away. Home is much warmer. They make my house look so beautiful. I was concerned about loosing a lot of the size of window glass, but we lost very little. In fact, the gentleman that came and did the measurements for the windows suggested we change the type of window in our bathrooms so we wouldn't loose too much glass. I was concerned. However, he was so right. Glad we listened. They know and care about what they do. I can't even wait for the siding. I'm gonna explode with excitement. I would so totally recommend them for anyone looking for windows. Stay turn for part 2 "Siding"

Tri-state told me they could replace my windows, even when I specifically identified a potential concern. They were confident in their response and quality leading me to believe them. However, after dealing with them for 2 months, they figured out they couldn't install their windows. Tri-state's false representations cost me two months after hurricane Sandy in finding a manufacturer whom could fix/replace my windows. While aviodable in November, because of Tri-state, I am likely to have to move out of my condo in Feb/Mar. If I was purchasing replacement windows, I'd trust other venders.
Description of Work: After Sandy, I had window problems, and asked several manufacturers for estimates to replace my windows on the 4th floor of a mid rised building (appox 45-55 ft above ground). I received a wide range of prices from window manufactures. A manufacturer of aluminium windows said that non-aluminium windows could not be installed. As Tri-states windows are "aluminium reinforced" windows, I asked Ken, the sales person, whether his windows could be installed in my building, and to confirm they were code. Ken told me, the calm by the aluminium window manufacturer were false, and tri-state windows were approved to the 8th floor. Based on this calm, and the fact Tri-state had what appeared to be good windows and a competitive price (he had a great sales pitch), so I decided to go with them, and stopped interviewing my other providers. In early December, I scheduled a second meeting with Ken at my apartment to sign paperwork, and get the process moving. Ken was able to meet 12/12. Ken and his controller were aware of the damage to my windows, and my concern about timing (winter was coming and my windows have major gaps), and promised a speedy process. The office even provided my condo with certificates of insurance and everything to move the process forward. In fact, Ken estimated as early as mid January. However, on New Year's Day, I received an email from Ken, saying they could not install my windows. There was no reason why on the email, and it signed "I hope you had a Happy New Year." I called the office 3 times before speaking with the manager of the told me ken was mistaken, and the windows were not up to code for my condo. The manager quickly said they have the right to cancel the installation (despite having a large deposit, and having the controller / etc acting as if nothing they would install). The right to cancel statement is debatable. My issue is simple. I started talking to tristate in early November, and because of their pricing and promises, stopped looking at other vendors. As such, I lost 2 months of time, and will likely have to move out of my apartment when the winter arrives in full. The managers concern was zero, effectively telling me he has the right to cancel the work. That's debatable, but the legal right does not make it ethical. Tri-state's false representations cost me two months after hurricane sandy in finding a manufacturer whom could fix/replace my windows. While avoidable in November, because of Tri-state, I am likely to have to move out of my condo in Feb/Mar.

Response from Tri-State Window Factory Corp
We are sorry that we could not be of service to this consumer. The proposal was written up on December 12th, subject to company approval. This is a commercial brick building in Jersey City. When the measurer went to the site on December 28th to take the exact measurements, he discovered that the apparent kneewall at the bottom of the window openings was actually part of the window with drywall over it. The opening actually extended from the floor to the ceiling. Now the windows would have to be much taller than the salesman originally anticipated. The openings would now be too large to install our windows as now they would not meet the Code. The opening was over 10 feet by 9 feet. With these dimensions, a metal frame must be fabricated and the windows installed inside it. An installation of this type would require commercial-grade metal windows. There would need to be 10 metal windows installed inside of the framing, like those used on New York City skyscrapers. The customer was originally told that there would be a five week timeframe for his installation. The measurer went there in about two weeks and determined that we could not install our windows. Our office called right away and informed the consumer. The consumer’s deposit was credited to his credit card immediately and was sent to him the next day in an email which explained that we could not do the job because of the size of the openings and that the proposal could not be approved. He was notified in a timely manner considering that there were two holidays falling within that time period.

We had several visits to the showroom and then Ken Scharf came to the house to measure and provide an exact price quote. They provided addresses in the are where work had been completed by them, and we drove around and looked at the houses. We were impressed with the quality of the products. The insulation value of both the siding and the windows is exceptional.Ken is a perfect gentleman, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The wording of the contract paperwork was very complete and included all details. We were toaly satisfied with the quality of the work and the wonderful crew. The cleaned the worksite each day.The showed up each day on time and had a supervisor overseeing every aspect of the job. They even hung the outside light and the mailbox! At the end of the job, a different gentleman called to check to make sure that everthing meets the customer's satisfaction. There were two minor points of damage: an upstairs screen had a small tear and I did not like the color of the trim around the front windows. I wanted white instead of gray. Workmen were immediately sent to change the trim and the screen was picked up, repaired and reinstalled. We could not be happier with the finished job.Our fifty year old house looks new and we are enjoying the warmth this winter. We are hoping for fuel savings as well but it is too soon to tell, as because of the hurricane, the bills have been estimated. All in all, the company exceeded our expectations. We were very very pleased with every aspect of our dealings with Tri-State and recommend them highly.I dreaded looking for contractors because of poor experiences in the past, and that is why we joined Angies' list.Tri-State also honored the discount given to Angie's List members!! Tri-State is outstanding in every way.

Scheduling of initial estimate was prompt. The salesman was excellent, informative and no pressure. Price was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but seemed worth it for a quality product. There were one or two hiccups in the final installation scheduling, but Tri State was accommodating and the finished product looks great.

I went with them mainly because of their insulation; I liked their insulation. They have a different kind of foam, and they were going to use interlocking, denser rubber foam. The fact that it was denser would keep me warmer, and it was a tie back to everything in the house. Also, they had a lifetime guarantee on their vinyl siding. We are kind of devastated here because of hurricane Sandy so they are out running around, doing a lot of estimates and they very busy installing. I originally contacted them about siding in one part of the house and during the storm another part of the house’s vinyl siding came down, so I have to have the whole house done and I went with them because they gave me the best deal. They quoted me $8000. I really was negotiating hard and the only thing that I have to say is that, in their advertisement, they said they offer 50% off, so I questioned a 50% off, and they are saying the job is actually a $14000 to $16000 job. However, that wasn’t accurate because I got an estimate from another company without any deals and that was $9000 and I had two independent contractors and they were all within the $8000 range but this was before the hurricane. So I don’t know why they are advertising 50% off because that is inaccurate. The job is not a $14000 job, so if they are quoting me $8000 even before the storm and with the 50% off in their advertisement, they should have quoted me about $6000. I just that was a little deceptive; I didn’t like that. So if the going rate is between $8000 and $10000, they might have only given me about 10% off that they said they gave me because I was an Angie’s List member but I have no clue if they did, so I was negotiating hard. Originally, it was $8500 but then they decided to leave it at $8000 and give me the foam board without the seam board, so I think I got the better grade vinyl siding so I saved about $500. I don’t know how their workmanship is but people have liked them very much and they have got tremendous rating in Angie’s List. I go to their shop because it is nearby in Deer Park. I go there and they are very nice to me so I can’t question that. The colors that they have are a little dark so I wasn’t thrilled with some of their colors but I am going with white and black, so that is fine. It has a UV protecting on it, which I thought was a good selling point, because the color will not fade. They gave me a ten year warranty on the labor and lifetime for the vinyl siding. So if anything happens with another storm in the next few years, they would come and fix it, those were good pluses. They came out several times. They came out before the storm because I had leak on one side, I wanted that one side done, and then out of curiosity I wanted to know how much they would charge for the rest of the house to be done because I was planning to do the rest of the house within the next five years. They intervened and now I have to get the whole house done because of the hurricane. It was finalized two weeks ago and hopefully they would start in another two weeks time. They were good so far.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Tri- State Window Factory Corp to install vinyl siding in two and a half sides of my house and they would start the work probably in another two weeks.

The rep that came to do the estimate was very nice and responsive and worked with our schedule to set up installation. It took a few weeks, but it was worth the wait. The workers were efficient, though they did leave a lot of debris on our roof and in the yard (pieces of siding, nails). The installation went smoothy and they completed the job in one day. The overall result was great - the new windows made a huge difference in the appearance of home both inside and out. The quality of the windows is also very good and easy to use and clean. There were some touch ups needed after the installation and the guys came back on a Sunday to make adjustments which was a huge bonus. Definitely would recommend Tri-State and use them again for future projects.

Everything was excellent. Although the workers arrived a little late, since this was only two weeks after Hurricane Sandy, and they had to come to Staten Island from Deer Park, Long Island, this was very understandable. The Long Island Railroad was on a very limited schedule so the highways were jammed. The quality of their work was top notch. They carefully installed the new windows after removing the old windows. Their work was meticulous. As a sort of DIY person, I watched them carefully. Each window they installed was done with a high level of craftsmanship and skill. They carried out each and every detail as specified in the written agreement. In addition, the workers were extremely cooperative and did everything I asked them to do. For example, I have a dog. After they finished the first floor windows, I asked them to clean up that area before they went on to the second floor windows. Without any hesitation, they did as I asked, making it possible for me to leave my dog loose on the first floor while they were working on the second floor. I asked them to keep the fence gate closed, because if the dog did go outside, she would certainly get out of the yard. They were again extremely cooperative in keeping the fence closed. Based upon the quality of the work, and the quality of the product, as well as the skill of the installers, I highly recommend Tri-State Windows for Window replacement. I would use this company again.
