After a bad experience with another contractor who was supposed to do the job, I found Joe Vitale on Angie's List. He came to look at it right away, scheduled it within a week and everything went exactly as scheduled. Joe and the two men who work with him did an outstanding job, the deck and doors/windows are absolutley beautiful. They all came early every day, worked really hard, were friendly and professional. They kept everything clean throughout the job. Even unexpected problems were no problem.The manufacturer had delivered some items that were not correct ( a year ago), Joe took it in stride and ended up doing the additional work himself. He did a great job and really knows his trade. I really couldn't have asked for more. I have already asked him to come back for several more projects, and will recommend him highly to anyone.

From the first day of meeting him to the completion of the work everything went really well. First off, I didn't have to worry about anything. Permits, planning?s, drawings he took care of all of it. After deciding what size deck would work best with the house it only took a small amount of time for him to come back and had me look over drawings. The next thing I knew workers came to the house and began working on foundation and making sure it would pass inspection. To be honest I thought the building part was going to take at least a solid 4 days and I was not even close. They came over on a Friday morning and knocked that entire thing out in just a few hours. They also took out a window and installed a door. All I had to do was to supply them with the door and stand back and watch. The best part was after all the work was over, they cleaned every part of the house where they had been. The outside ground area and driveway were cleaned off. I haven't owned the house for very long, but I will definitely be using Excellent Exterior and Deck Company again for whatever projects I can come up with. As I said before Joe is a really down to earth business man and I have no doubt anyone who uses him will be as happy with their work as I was.

joe is very punctual and organized. at the initial meeting he talked with us about what we wanted and how best to accomplish that then sketched out a rough draft with pricing on the spot. after we booked him, he came back with an engineer that designed our new deck, to go over the details. he got rid of the old deck, got the permit, poured the footings and finished the new deck in 3 business days, joe and his crew work hard, are personable and meticulous. the deck has a very artistic feel to it and looks awesome. it is exactly what we wanted! i highly recommend joe vitale and his crew.

Joe came to review what needed to be done. A few days later, he contacted me with an estimate and to set up a time when the work could be done. He and his crew were on time, worked very hard, were very friendly and very professional and did all of the things that we agreed they would do. They also cleaned up when the work was done. I was very comfortable having them in my house and it was clear that they all knew how to interact with their customers. The work that was done is amazing. The shelves that were added were measured very carefully and are very study. The expanded closet looks great and is just what I wanted. The crown molding and chair rail look like something you would see in a magazine. The dining room now looks stunning. Everything that was done exceeded my expectations.

Joe and his team really know how to build a deck! We had specific features, included the pergola, the under-deck skirting and wide steps, that some of the other contractors we talked to were not comfortable with. But Joe was undaunted and did a marvelous job on all of the work. Joe is the team leader and was on site for the entire project. He and the other two members of his team were hardworking and professional and the only day they missed during the week-long project, was the 24 hours to allow the concrete footings to properly cure. Joe took care of all aspects of the job including the architect's plans and the building permit and inspections. He kept a clean site and was very careful with my lawn. He was not satisfied until we were satisfied, and my wife and I were very satisfied. No surprises on the agreed-upon price either.

Joe built a 12' x 20' replacement deck for my parents. He met with us several times before beginning the work, clearly explaining the steps, materials and his building process. He took care of all necessary business with town officials - permit, inspections, etc. Joe took the time to talk with my parents about the final layout of the deck and especially the dimensions of the stairs (total width, number and size of stairs, etc.) The completed deck is sturdy, well built and exactly what my parents wanted. We felt confident in Joe's knowledge and expertise throughout the entire process. I've already recommended Joe to several people and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him in the future.
