They did a nice job. I was very happy with them. They were efficient, neat, and clean. I had no problems. The service cost was in the $200s but closer to $300.00.

The subcontractors did a poor job repairing the street, had to come back several times to get it decent, not perfect. Still hear every car and truck that goes by our house bumping over the repair, which has to have some long term impact below. Months after they "finished" (the work first done in January) they still did not fill in the hole under my stoop, finally done this summer in August. Three months after the sewer work was done, I got another bill from Vigilante claiming another $2000 for a water main. The bill just said "water main............$2000." I called and said that I never contracted for that, never authorized it. THey claimed that someone gave them authorization. I am disputing this claim until they show me certification that the work was actually done. Vigilante has been a reliable plumber for many years, doing a variety of work in my house. I was generally pleased with the quality of the work until recently, though it was always quite expensive. I had to get another plumber over to fix a kitchen drain pipe that was incorrectly pitched, causing it to clog up often. Nevertheless, I went ahead with this big job because I trusted them. I didn't know they would subcontract the work until after they started; I was away when they began the work, but returned to find a messy worksite (admittedly a big, messy job, digging under the stoop to the street. I think that I will find a new plumber from now on.

This is too much time to spend on this. The episode happened over a year ago. the above date is approximate. I don't have time to go back and look it all up but I could if it was necessary.

Called on Friday for an emergency with the Boiler. Their add states 24/7 Service. The guy stated that if it was an emergency needed $200 upfront and if not could not come until 6 days. Very Bad. Would never recommend.

I use them all the time for about 25 years. They are not cheap, but you can get them to come at very odd hours. My experience with them has been good. They call you before they come and show up on time. The guy showed up early today than what was promised.

Comin home on Christmas Eve to a boiler not giving heat in freezing temperatures was not fun. I called several plumbers who were not answering as I'm sure they had left for the day. Vigilante was willing to come for $200 on a credit card before they would send someone. The person arrived and fiddled a little then pointed to a leak and said the boiler had to be replaced - gave me an $11,000 estimate for simply replacing the boiler - no ductwork. Charged additional for (?) repairing a part that he never explained. Left me with now heat for 2 days till after Christmas when I got another estimate. In the interim Keyspan gave me an over the phone estimate of 7,000 and an appt. to estimate in person. Ater getting an estimate from the plumber I wound up using, I called the owner of Vigillante who wound up telling me that the person had done a "thourough diagnosis" (?) for the other $200. I figure if if his thouough diagnosis wasn't good enough to get me the heat the other plumber got me in 10 min. then his skills just weren't that good. I was a long time customer and expected a refund but that did not happen. As a good customer, they had even asked me a while back to write a reference for them to work for Home Depot which I had done. The emergency fee maybe as someone did come, but someone not skilled enough to diagnose the leak well enough to turn the boiler back on and give me emergency heat as the other plumber did. The fee for "replacing" a part turned into a thourough diagnosis and an expensive lesson. I'm very disappointed that I ever had work done by them.

I had to use them as all of radiators were leaking and it was 10:00 PM in the night and they came in immediately and they were knowledgeable. They were very professional and they came in much quicker than they were supposed. They cleaned the up place after they left.

It was average. Their interaction with me was courteous and professional. They gave me a time frame but showed up 2 or 3 hours late. That was a little annoying. When they got here it seemed like they knew what they were doing. I twas a mixed experience.

My experience with them was good, overall. They have excellent customer service and they make appointments and show up when they say they will. The final result was good. They had to come back because they thought they had finished but they had not and they were very good about responding and realizing the mistake they had made. I would use them again with out hesitation.

I think that all of the plumbers at this company are good. They were able to figure out the tricky, tedious, intricate job of re-routing the pipe around all of the things in my living room. All of the plumbers are professional. I own a service company myself and I know what I am talking about.

My air conditioning suddenly stopped working. Vigilante was able to send someone over the same day. They looked at my system and immediately spotted the issue. My lines were frozen, either because the coolant levels were too low, or because the compressor was blown. They shut down my unit, in order to let it thaw out so they could complete the diagnosis. The next day, they returned and determined that the coolant levels were low. They added coolant and the AC worked fine after that. They were incredibly accommodating. I'm trying to sell my condo, so it was critical that I got my A/C working before an open house on Sunday. I called them on Friday, and they were at my place less than 2 hours after I called. They found the source of the problem immediately. When it became clear that the repair couldn't be made until my unit had thawed, the technician made a couple of calls to get authorization to return on Saturday, even though they don't normally work on weekends. I feel like I might have paid a bit more than I would have paid with someone else, but the fact that they bent over backward to get the job done before my open house really made me glad that I'd chosen them.

The faucets he rebuilt never "broke in" or worked properly - a faucet handle he was to install in the basement was not installed. A shower head was installed - no problem to date.

They were not able to duplicate our problem, which was that there was a downpour whenever our tenants showered, but decided it was from a rusty looking pipe that they exposed after opening up our bathroom ceiling. They gave me an estimate of about $1800 to replace the pipe, and said they would be back on Monday (it was a Friday) to do the job. We discovered ourselves that weekend that the leak was from a poor caulking job. I called early Monday morning to cancel the appointment and get some of our money back, and the woman assured me that they would do this after the technician called her. They did not get back to me and I called again on Tuesday morning. She assured me there was a new bill in the mail and that the tech would call, but again he did not so I called in the afternoon, when I finally did talk to the technician who said I would be charged for the time and the professional diagnosis, which would be around $600, but was incorrect! I was outraged, but they did not agree to refund a part of my deposit until I threatened to go to the BBB. We had used them before, but will never again!

Showed up promptly at 10am and left around 4:30. Worked really cleanly, brought their own rags (unlike other plumbers we've used), cleaned up the areas so they were as before. Workers Billy and Theo were professional, very nice and knowledgeable. Worked straight through, no breaks, were careful and thorough. Here's a comparison price: Roto Rooter charged $260 to snake the second floor drain a year ago; Vigilante charged $75.

After receiving the competitive (middle price) estimate from Rod, we moved quickly and they were able to start the work the next week. The two technicians, Austin and Will, were both very professional and thorough. The job took approximately 2 days and they took the time to go through the entire system with us and were extremely patient with our neophyte questions. The only hiccup was that they were unable to schedule the duct cleaning before the installation, but that was a problem with their subcontractor in this case. The entire team at Vigilante was helpful through the entire process and I was extremely pleased with everyone from the company that I dealt with, from the people who answered the phones to the installers to the heating specialist who gave us the estimate. They are coming by tomorrow to make an adjustment on the furnace. It was easy to get an appointment.

We were only semi happy with the professionalism of this contractor. We felt that he was in a hurry to leave even though the drain was not unclogged. He wasn't as clean as we would have liked it either. We probably won't use him again.

They were the worst and I was very unsatisfied with their service. They had an attitude that I was less than them because of my gender and I was totally beside myself with them. They were not up front with telling me what had to be done and how much things would cost. I did not like their service at all.

They have this guy Kevin working for them, he's fantastic. They're a little bit on the pricey side but it's worth it because they are very professional. When they came into my house they covered their shoes with plastic so they wouldn't dirty anything, which is very appreciated.
