The company was responsive and the info they gave was reliable. The serviceman was punctual, professional and accommodated my request for an early morning appointment. He could not have been more courteous. I found the price to be expensive, but don' t really have a good basis for comparison.

Even tho' I do not have a printer to print the discount coupon, they honored it anyway. On the first visit, the repair could not be done due to a needed part, which I ordered on line, then made a 2nd appointment. Both times the guys were pretty prompt and worked cleanly. They were also good about phoning ahead to update me on arrival time, which was convenient. I would definitely use them again and recommend them!

Maybe I'm being too critical. Spoke to someone on the phone Thursday the 31st. Wasn't super impressed with the guy on the phone... Didn't seem like he really knew how to make an appointment -- but by the end of the call, I felt good about having them come here on Tuesday, Feb 5. Received a confirmation call at 8:30 this AM. Was already at work (school teacher) and wasn't able to pick up my phone. I had to leave work early at 2 to make our 3-4PM slot. I called on my way home at 2PM and the appt was confirmed. Arrived home at 2:45... At 5PM I received a call that they weren't coming, that there was a family emergency. This is where, perhaps, I'm being too critical. It felt disingenuous. It felt like an excuse -- and I am pretty good at identifying excuses. Why no call earlier? I also find it irritating when a company states that I will have to pay $100.00 just to have them visit -- regardless of whether or not I have work done -- as a way to ensure that their time is respected BUT then I don't get similar treatment back. My time is valuable and there are a lot of well rated plumbers in this part of Brooklyn. So for better or for worse, I didn't reschedule.

I had a water leaking from the ceiling which was traced to loose tiles upstairs bathroom.. They came promptly and diagnosed the problem correctly and eventually fixed the leakage.. Their service was prompt, professional, and I was very happy with their service.. Price was very reasonable.

Great! The employee called ahead of time (aware that we don't have a working bell; next project) and got to work immediately once he arrived. He was courteous, efficient, professional, and answered any questions I had. The administrator/dispatcher is courteous whenever I've called to set up appointment, or request copies of filed paperwork. (Due to hurricane sandy, a bit backlogged at the moment.)

See above. I really appreciated Cliff's knowledge and courteousness. I'm sure there are other good plumbers, though. One gets the idea this company has learned not only how to fix things, but how to keep good customer relations.

They did a very good job. They were very efficient and came after the Hurricane. They came out when others couldn't and were very accommodating. They were very professional as well. I would use them again if needed.

Was a bit expensive but no more so than any of the peers. Would recommend these guys. They know what they are doing and arrive on time

Toilet in my basement bathroom was overflowing. The plumber showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. I think it was the same day. Unclogged the house sewer main. He had the right equipment to do it. He was also able to tell me why he thought it was happening, and what I would need to do to fix it going forward. Reasonable price. I will use this plumber going forward. A few months later, I called to request a copy of my recipt, and the office emailed it to me immediately. Thank you, Stanley Lewis Plumbing & Heating!

Caution -- they charge you $125 just to tell you how much the repair will actually cost. Could not get a manager on the phone to discuss their rates to get an idea of the range of what a repair would cost, or to discuss their warranty. Wasted a lot of time trying to do some due diligence so I didn't get ripped off and waste time having an expensive inspection done. Very frustrating, will not call them again.

An excellent experience from initial booking to finished work product. We had a leaky steam shutoff valve on our pre-war building radiator. Another company quoted us a price of $675.00 for replacing a $25.00 part. We had a good laugh and went to Angie's List to find another plumber who wasn't going to charge what amounts to a $500+ hourly bill rate. After booking the appointment, I sent a picture of the defective valve to Stanley Lewis and they responded promptly with clarifying questions and all the necessary detail to ensure that the repair could take place during the initial visit. I received two confirmation calls from the Stanley Lewis office, one the evening before and one on the day of repairs. Cliff (a super nice and courteous guy) showed up a few minutes after 9:00 (the time window was 9:00-12:00), quickly diagnosed the problem, got a phone quote ($299.00 incl. tax) and got to work. The new valve was professionally installed and tested in about 30 minutes. Definitely my new "go to plumber" in NYC!

I contacted Stanley Lewis and received an appointment. They called to change te window for the appointment, and theri team arrived within this time frame. They informed me that there would be a service fee (minus $25 for first time Angie's list customers) or the cost for any work that could be performed that day. They sent two of their employees, Cliff and Miles, and they were professional and very nice. They were knowledgable and very friendly. They confirmed what I said needed to be done, and gave me a price for 2 of the 3 jobs. Cliff asked that I call the ofice for the price for the cut-off line job. I called the office Friday, and spoke with Alex. He said that he planned to call me with a price, and would contact me later that. Because of both of our schedules, I asked that he call me Monday morning. It has been more than a week, and I have not heard from him or his office. I am know looking obtaining quotes from other plumbing companies, listed on Angie's list.

He was punctual, personable, respectful, and quick.

The man sent out to do this job was highly professional, skilled -- and nice. Brought all the right equipment. The work he did was successful. A heavy rain two weeks later confirmed that the pipes were in excellent working order. The price was extremely fair. Only downside: had to make 3 or 4 phone calls to the company to learn what I was going to be charged.

It was the first time I had used them (Cliff and Brim). They were excellent. They cleaned up after themselves. My washer and dryer worked perfect. I called and they came the day after.

My complex had difficulty in fixing my kitchen water pressure. Called a number of plumbers on Angie's List but selected Stanley (liked their reviews). Made appointment which was very timeily. Two gentlemen arrived for apporintment (Orin and Myles). Was a bit surprised two people arrived, but okay since it moved the repair along quickly. Orin explained what was wrong after reviewing and was patient to ensure I understood the situation. They contacted the head office to explain the problem and quoted me a price (it was okay). They needed to go out to get parts (it didn't take long). They return and fix the facet (also cleaned up!). My appointment was between 9-12, they arrived approx 9:15a and was done by 12:15p. I'm very satisfied.

Excellent. I was promised a visit from 9-noon and they arrived at 9:30. Job completed by 11:15. They are great.

They came on time, were responsible, and knowledgeable. I felt that they were very professional. I would recommend them.

Our building has rather complex insurance requirements, so the first appointment I had with Stanley Lewis was not possible because they were not able to get the paperwork done in time.A new appointment was made for an afternoon slot (they offer am and pm 4-hour time windows). Unfortunately their morning client turned out to be more complex than planned, so they couldn't make it to my place on the second appointed day.We made a new appointment for 2 days later. I insisted on a morning slot after that experience, and it worked. They came at the agreed time and the entire job took about 3+ hours.Erica, the lady who answers the phone and makes the appointments was very professional and polite. I was very well impressed by her.The plumbers (Cliff & Brian) were professional and polite as well as neat.The only con of the whole experience is that they don't give you a ball-park figure of cost, even with a clear description of the job, and they do charge $125 just for coming to your place. They insist this is not a fee for quoting but a service charge. But I guess that if you don't agree to the quote you are given at that moment, you have to pay this fee.Since I agreed to the quote, this fee was not an issue.It might be helpful to know the breakdown of my bill: $375 was their fee for installing each toilet. $242 was the fee for the kitchen leak repair + the outdoor faucet, including the materials. Plus tax.I got a $25 discount for mentioning that I got them thru Angie's List! Thanks!

We set up an appointment for them to come out on Friday. They called to say that someone else was going to come, but nobody showed up. I have decided to go with someone else even though they initially seemed professional. I can understand that they may be overwhelmed with customers, but I wish they would have been honest and not kept me waiting.

They were very responsive, told me what they needed to know about the old heater, and quickly gave me a quote. I found out from the super in the building that "his" guys couldn't do better. They came on time (there was a delay, but that was between me and my building management, about proof of insurance) worked quickly and quietly (an important element in a medical suite), and when they finished, it was as if they'd never been there -- except I now had hot water. In other words, they cleaned up after themselves well.
