They did a really, really good job. They were very professional. They arrived on time. They worked very hard to fix the problem. They tried every combination of ways to fix it to make sure it was correct. They showed me how they fixed it and what they did. Their pricing was very competitive, as well. I would definitely recommend them. I thought they were nice guys. It was a positive experience.

It went well. Orin is a very capable young man. He also cleaned up as best he could and carried my garbage away. Now I have to find someone on Angie's list to fix my ceiling. I haven't found a good handyman yet.

Stanley Lewis were hired to replace an old gas burner with a new one in a medium-sized apartment building. And the results were disastrous. Because they were starting in the dead of winter, they were contracted to provide the building with auxiliary heat for the week that it would take to replace the burner. They installed a huge oil burning truck and hooked up the pipes to our internal steam heat system. While that supplemental heat worked well, the burner that SL installed was problematic from the second it was fired up. Carbon monoxide leaked into our public corridors, setting of alarms on all floors. At midnight the entire building came into the hallways, while firemen arrived and advised us to shut the system down. No one from Stanley Lewis apologized for the dangerous evening we'd gone through. When I suggested that they keep the supplemental truck around for another few days while the CN leak was checked, and the burner tested, they refused. And so the building went without heat for another two weeks. And that was just the beginning. The burner was calibrated in such a way that heat fluctated from desert Saharan to barely a whisper. Could they fix it, or suggest what the problem was? They didn't seem to know how to cope with the series of problems that presented themselves. Nine months later, we still have problems of widely varying levels of heat throughout the building. Some apartments are toasty, others are frigid. We wouldn't dream of calling them to check it out, but feel, um, burned. We're concerned that the wrong type or size of system was installed.

Wayne was on time, nice and more knowledgeable than previous plumbers I had worked with. The hot water was returned to normal but the bleeding of the radiators was unsuccessful. There seems to be a bigger problem done by the plumbers who installed the radiators in the first place, I've rescheduled with Stanley Lewis to return for more problem solving of the radiators.

They have come out about 3 times. They got the job done and everything is okay. I would recommend them because they are very professional. I feel that they are not there to rip you off. They do their best to solve the problem.

I found the company through Angie's list and arranged for an appointment. They don't work on the weekend but were here on Monday. The day of the appointment Erika called and confirmed their arrival time so I didn't have to wait the entire day. The team of Cliff and Miles were here on time and started to work immediately. Cliff found out that I needed new guts for the toilet and replaced them. He also cleaned out the shower knob which was the cause for the low hot water pressure. The cost for the toilet was about $180 including labor and parts and the cost to clean up the shower handle was about $150. I found the shower handle cost a bit hight but couldn't compare it with other companies. They charge $75 to come out and estimate and will apply it towards the job. Because of this I figure let them finish the job. But they didn't provide an estimate before starting the work. They honored Angie's 10% coupon. I wish there was a maybe I will use this company again.. the cost is my only pause.

I was advised by company that they would come between 12 & 4 (not too crazy about that). When I made the appointment for my specific requests, I was told exactly how much it would be. Plumbers showed up relatively early (2 p.m.) and after a brief conversation with them they got to work. After completion, plumber advised me of necessary additional work needed due to changes by NYC Buildings Department boiler division. After some time while one plumber continued servicing boiler (which was close to completion), other plumber checked out tenant's radiator leak. He spotted problem and made necessary repairs, and since problem appeared so minor his supervisor stated there would be no charge. As they completed the servicing of boiler, radiator leak started again & the real problem was discovered. I was advised what my 2 options were to repair the leak, and was told that they would contact me with information to do needed repairs. I was very pleased with the professionalism and efficiency by these plumbers, and believe I would recommend them. I hope the additional plumbing repairs go without a hitch.

I have called them twice this month. The secretary answering the phones in the office is very nice, however no plumber has called me back yet to set an appointment. Hopefully they will call me back later today or tomorrow.

They are fantastic. They proactively identify and fix problems. They give us a lot of information and let us decide what needs to be fixed and what doesn't. The monthly sprinkler report is always finished on time.

I received an estimate from this company for putting in a faucet in the back garden and was pleased with my interaction with them. However a neighbor sent over her plumber and we just ended up using him. I would call Stanley Lewis again in the future.

Almost everything went very well over two visits within three weeks. There were two glitches. The first is that they came later than expected. When someone says they will be at your apt. between 9:00 and noon, they should not be coming at 12:45 p.m., which was the case both times. The other glitch, and it may be partially due to my communication, was that on the first visit they did not lift the toilet off the floor, where a gasket had rotted. Because I had had a leak into the apartment below me, I had asked the plumbers to look at the gasket where the toilet connects to the floor. They did not do this on the first visit, and a stain developed on my neighbor's ceiling. I called the company back, and on the second visit they replaced the gasket. This was annoying, but they were very skilled in their work and are, in fact, the best plumbing company I've ever worked with. It's clear that they care about doing a good job and making sure the customer is satisfied. I spoke to Stanley himself when the stain developed, and he was very responsive about sending the plumbers back again. I would heartily recommend them.

The owner came out himself for the quote. They were very accommodating and made the job very simple.

Stanley Lewis very clearly explained my options (along with their costs), then set a time to do the work within the week. They sent over 4 servicemen to saw in half and remove the old radiator and then install the newer, smaller unit.

They arrived exactly on time, and remedied the problem quickly. I know this is a lot to pay for a clogged drain, but they got the job done and are very reliable.

went great, the guys went above and beyond. it was a subcontractor i believe, but they were fantastic. the pipe was cemented over and they broke the cement to access the pipe and didn't charge me extra

Professional customer service and technician

We had clogged drain line that I couldn't clear. I called them in the morning and requested service call for the same afternoon. They called before to confirm appointment and arrived exactly when they said they would. The plumber was pleasant and efficient. He cleared the drain line within minutes. I liked the service enough to call them for another job at my office and my experience was equally good the second time.

They came in and gave me an estimate, and were very professional and punctual. They did a good job and were on time. He took pictures and drew diagrams, and I felt that he was using technology more. He was quick to get me my estimate. I paid $1200 for the work, and I felt that his prices were low. I received an estimate from another company which was higher than his.

Good experience. The only problem is that he charged us for an estimate and was not up front about this cost. In fact seemed to indicate that he would not charge us before hand. I think it was more of a miscommunication than anything intentional.

I called a number of plumbers, looking for one who would come out late in the day and not make me wait until the next morning with a clogged kitchen sink drain. They said they'd be here in half an hour, and they were. They cleared the clog and gave me some tips on how to keep it cleared. Throughout the experience, they were professional and pleasant.

They're always very professional and reasonably priced. They did a good job. They're quick, they're reliable, they're professional and courteous and they show up when they're supposed to show up. They're all nice and they can show you what they're doing. They're not out there to screw you over. They try to explain the problem to you.
