They sent a plumber. He gave us a quote after speaking to his office. The plumber did the job. They mailed us the bill. We paid it. Job well done.

They came because I had an emergency and have been using them each time I have had a problem with plumbing. They were pretty good. They were reasonably priced and came on time.

I was told repairman would come between 9am and 12n the next morning. Someone called at 9am and asked a few questions about the trouble. He told me the repairman had another job first and he would arrive before 12n. The repairman arrived before 11am. He check the problem and told me what had to be replaced. He did an excellent job and left the work area clean.

I needed to replace our kitchen faucet. I called Stanley Lewis. They assessed what kind of faucet and sink I had by asking a number of questions (and educating me along the way). They recommended a couple places in Manhattan where I could look at faucets and recommended certain brands that have a good reputation. They then provided an estimate of how much the work would cost. They provided an email address so that they could confirm what I needed (I sent them a picture). On my own, I ordered the new faucet. When it came in, I called them to arrange an appointment. They arrived within the 4-hour timeframe that they had provided to me. It took them about 30 minutes to replace the faucet. The cost was within the estimate that we had discussed, and the two men who replaced it were very professional. I was very happy with their service from start to finish, and I would definitely consider using them again. Based on other plumbers that I?ve used, I thought that their rates were reasonable.

Stanley Lewis is great - plain and simple. They understand customer service and quality work. We've used them several times since our initial boiler problem and they've always come through at a great price.

The drain pipes for my kitchen and bathroom sinks were damaged by work a previous plumber had done. That plumber offered to come back to complete the job, but I didn't feel comfortable with them and needed to find someone I could rely on to get the job done quickly and correctly. I went on Angie's list and found this company. I called them and the guy that answered the phone asked me a lot of questions and was very thorough to understand the job. He worked with my availability and got someone out to my place within 24 hours (it was not an emergency situation.) Two guys showed up right on time and assessed the situation and got to work. It was finished within 45 mins. They were both professional and nice and I was very pleased with the service they provided.

It was a very good experience. He is very experienced, knowledgeable, and nice. I'm going to use him today for another plumbing project.

Services performed very professionally. Came during time slot. Did work as agreed upon with No mess. No issues. No problems. I will use again and hopefully with same results.

This was a real easy effort (for me). I called the company and made an appointment. They called the day of the appointment and showed up on-time at the prescribed time. They reviewed the situation using my chicken scratch diagram. They gave us a quote for our approval. They completed the work, cleaned up and left promptly.

Terrible experience - do not hire them.

This is my first experience using Angie's List. I'm definitely impressed with Stanley Lewis Plumbing and Angie's List. I will continue to use both.

It was a fiasco and was really horrible. They were rated number one in my area in Angieslist. They were very close to where the building was. That was another reason why we called them. They didn’t show up several times. There was a problem in the condominium building. We weren’t happy with our plumber. I had someone else on the board deal with him. It was a disaster. They finally gave up after numerous times of trying to get in touch with them. They kept calling them, but they didn’t show up.

From my initial contact with Stanley Lewis Plumbing and Heating to the completion of the job I was very satisfied. I called to get an initial estimate and my call was returned within the hour. The price quoted was just about what the job wound up costing. Two technicians came, were even early, very professional, got right to work on the problem and were finished in an hour. They were very helpful and left the area clean. I would definitely call on them again.

Stanley Lewis Plumbing was a good experience from the beginning. The people in their office are intelligent and helpful; Erica asked me to find out if my building would require an insurance verification so we were able to get that going before the appointment. There was an opening in a few days at a time I could be home from work, and the two plumbers arrived punctually. They were also intelligent, helpful, and courteous, and to my surprise, they were open to listening to what had to be done and to reading the instructions for installing the filter cartridge. The first thing they did was test the valves under the kitchen sink and coax them into turning so they did not have to be replaced. The rest of the work was performed quickly and with a minimum of mess. They wiped out the inside of the bathroom faucet before replacing it over its new inner cartridge. They pointed out to me that with the new part one of the bathroom faucets was now a shade taller than the other one. They came up with a part for the kitchen faucet which fixed the leak, but said that I should order the correct parts as the other side would likely have the same issue soon (the washer had hardened). They also pointed out that the water filter cartridge in the kitchen had been incorrectly installed; it had not been screwed into its cap at all and was just lying inside the outer shell. The filtered water flows much more quickly now. The three repairs done took less than two hours and the leaks have not returned so far. I thought the price was a bit high for what were essentially simple repairs, but this is New York City and I have seen worse. The only criticism I can think of is, that one side of the kitchen faucet falls back a bit too much now. It has separate levers for hot and cold water and the cold, the one they fixed, doesn't seem to have been put back on to match the other side. If I had seen it before the plumbers left, likely they would have corrected it. But that is a minor cavil. Given that this was not a complicated assignment, it was one of the better experiences I have had with a plumbing company and I would certainly hire Stanley Lewis Plumbing again.

Gave a fair estimate, managed to squeeze me into their busy schedule and do this job 2 days after original contact. Showed up on time, proceeded to do the work necessary in a minimum amount of time, and cleaned up their mess. Good Job

Terrible!!! I was very disappointed given the number of positive recommendations.

I had a gas leak and Stanley Lewis came on the same day that I called for an estimate. I also had a leaky valve on my boiler and he gave me a quote for $925: $750 to replace the header pipes to my gas line and $175 to replace the valve for my boiler. I thought it was a little expensive, but they were able to come fix it the next morning and they finished in about three hours. They were very professional and friendly. On the other hand, National Grid came by to turn my gas back on after the repair and said that the quality of the work was not very good with regard to the pipes and had to do some adjusting before they could complete their job.

The job was fast, they were clean and efficient and very nice. Really enjoyed dealing with them and would definitely use them again for our plumbing needs. As for the price, I can only guess that's pretty fair as I've never hired a plumber before. I called around before deciding and hourly rates ranged from $125-$170 with smaller jobs done on a cost per job. I did some research online and it seems that plumbers in NYC get more per hour than else where, so I'm guessing this cost was okay - not the highest but not the lowest. At the end of the day I really liked the guys who did the repair, the company was great to deal with and again would most definitely call them for our plumbing needs.

Since I rent this apartment and no longer live in New York, I thought this would be very difficult to get the leak fixed. I contacted a half dozen plumbers on Angie list and these guys were the best by far! Alex and his staff provided excellent service, professionalism, advice and competitive pricing. My questions, calls and emails were returned promptly and I quickly decided that they were the ones for the job; and that I could trust them to do the work without even being on site myself. They came on time and did the job exactly as they said, even sending me updates and some pictures of the work progress along the way. I was highly satisfied with the results and service. I would definitely use Stanley Lewis again in the future!

There was a missing part that had not been installed, and he installed it and the problem seems fixed. He was knowledgeable and knows his trade.

I called for an estimate to have a water meter repositioned in my home. A woman answered and stated that the person that does the estimates was in the field and I would get a call back in 24 hours. It's been 72 hours excluding Sunday. No call on my cell or home phone. If they were to do the job, is this the kind of customer service and quality of work that I would receive? I don't see any reason to call them back.

i called approximately 10 to 11 am i asked for a plumber, got an appointment for later that same day. Got a call from company saying they are available now. They arrived less than 2 and half hours later. The workers were very nice, courteous and helpful. They unclogged the basement bathroom and upstairs sink. They were helpful when i ask plumbing related questions. They took my credit card info over the phone, gave me a receipt and left.

I called to have a kitchen faucet replaced. I spoke to a woman who answered the phone who seemed not to know anything about plumbing. For instance, when I said I had a garbage disposal she wanted to know if it was attached to the faucet! She told me someone would call me back within 60-90 minutes - I never heard from anyone. Frankly, any vendor who feels they don't need my business is not a vendor I would use.

I spoke with Alex first at Stanley Lewis Plumbing and explained my problem. My Groher termistate shower was not working properly. Alex explained to me what he thought was the problem and what needed to be done. He gave me three different ballpark prices for each situation that could come up. I then spoke with Erica at the office who got all the paperwork approved by my management quickly and within 3 days called me with an appt. Cliff & Myles arrive within the 3 hours span I was given. They went to work immediately. They shut the water off and removed the parts that were damaged that needed to be replaced. They left my apt. to go to the supply store, purchaesed the parts and came back all within the hour. They installed the new parts, put the water on, tested the shower and now I'm a very happy customer. I have had many experiences with workers who come in and say they can do the job at hand but can't or can not communicate in English. Stanley Lewis Plumbing is a professional organization who will deliver what they say they can. I will recommed Stanley Lewis Plumbing to everyone I know. If you need plumbing, call Stanley Lewis. You wil be extremely happy and will have a stress free experience without the hassle and the mess.

The technician was on time and professional. I didn't ask for a cost estimate of the job before he started working. The technician took out the malfunctioning parts, went to the plumbing store and bought new parts and installed them. The actual plumbing job took about an hour and a half.
