They were very easy to contact and schedule an appointment. Unfortunately,my original appointment was scheduled for the week that Hurricane Sandy had hit. I rescheduled the appointment to January and they were very accomodating. They advised me ahead of time which products I needed. Unfortunately, one of the grouts that I bought didn't match exactly. They were very helpful in finding something that matched on the day of the service. The grout and caulk looks much better than it did originally and they finished way under 4 hours.

The wrong colored grout was used and the job had to be redone.

Due to the recent hurricane, we had to go back and forth a little to find a date, but once we did everything went very well. I was pleased with the level of professionalism. I was happy with the finished product.

They did a good job painting. There were no problems with scheduling—I was able to have it done very soon after I purchased the Deal. I did have to pay some additional, because the paint was not included in the price of the Deal, which I hadn’t realized. So it cost more than I had anticipated.

We hired Ditmas Park Renovations to change about 2 dozen trim tiles in our kitchen. Rob came by 11/19/12 to have a look and assured us it would be about a 4 hour job. He gave us a few leads for places to buy the tile. I emailed and called a few times to set up an installation date. I emailed him at least 5 times between 12/10/12 and 1/7/13 with no response. He finally got back to me and we scheduled the installation for 1/26/13. His guys seemed to know what they were doing and eventually took about 5.5 hours to finish up...but they didn't have grout. How you send guys to do a tile job without grout I don't know. They said Rob was tied up in a meeting and would come in and finish the grout later. He never showed. Emailed him to find out when he can come to finish the job, we settled on Friday 2/1/13 ay 4pm. I raced home early from work, was in at 3:55. He never showed. Emailed and called to see what's up, he says he was at our house at 3 and no one was home. Great. I reminded him we agreed on 4, not 3. So we rescheduled for Saturday 8/9/13. No one ever showed up. So I had my building super come in this morning and do the grout. I'm glad I didn't hire them to do a bigger job, or I'd probably be looking at a half-finished kitchen right now. I don't know, maybe this was such a small-potatoes job, it just didn't get his full attention? I was going to get an estimate from him for a bathroom renovation, but... His guys seem to do good work and did a good job cleaning up, but the boss's communication skills are really off.

I called Ditmas and we set up an appt for 1/25/13 for 1PM and he arrived promptly at 1:00. The person from Ditmas was friendly, professional and courteous. He did the job very quickly and was very neat and clean. He brought his own materials and when he finished I really could not tell except for the new caulking that any work had been recently. The new caulk looks 100% better than what I had. I would definitely call Ditmas again if I ever need any work done in the future.

No complaints. Very nice and seem to have done a fine job, but I am admittedly pretty ignorant about these things. As the team was leaving, I also asked if they could send me an independent estimate to repair the bathroom wall. They provided the estimate promptly.

The work has not been completed at this time. He has been cooperative with working with me. I will follow up once the work is completed. Thomas and his partner appear to be very professional and hard working. If I am satisfied with the completed work I will more than likely be hiring them for a kitchen remodel. The job was "completed" on 12/31/12. I am not sure if I would ever work with them again. I purchased 2, 4 hour tile and grout restoration deals from angie's list. I did Speak with Thomas BEFORE I purchased them. I sent him the dimensions and pictures of my bathroom which I wanted Regrouted. Thomas understood and said to purchase 2 of the deals, he also told me to buy all of the grout and caulking, which I did. I was a little skeptical that the job could be completed in one day. Thomas said if it took more time, he would come by the next day for an hour or 2 at no extra charge if it needed it. He told me they would use a "drummel" to remove all of the old grout and replace it with the 10 lbs of new grout I bought. I had no idea what a drummel was. Anyway, Thomas arrived at the time he said he would on that first morning, don't remember the exact date. He did not come with a "drummel" but with some acid wash to clean the grout. I was confused, and so was he, apparently. He thought I had purchased something different than I thought I purchased. This may be true. He was busy with Hurricane Sandy work, and we had spoken about the job way before he stopped by. Because of our telephone conversation BEFORE I purchased the 2 "big deals", I understood he was going to totally remove the old grout and regrout the entire bathroom. He said I was mistaken and that the big deal was for cleaning and light repair which would take less than 4 hours. He said he would try the acid wash, and if it worked , I could return the second unused big deal voucher. I was frustrated, but I said, ok, try it. Anyway, It didn't work. So he said he would have angies list return my money and we would forget about the whole thing. Thomas said he had several deals with angie's list and I had bought the wrong one. I said ok, let's forget it and Ill get my money back. Before he left, he changed his mind and said that he would complete the job I had thought I had purchased in the first place. I said ok. He sent a worker by , don't remember the date exactly. As I suspected, the job took more than 1 day, it took 2 days. Fine, but the nice young worker was obviously not an experienced tile worker. He cracked and scratched a bunch of tiles with the Drummel, The regrouting was missing in many areas and the caulking job was terrible. I told Thomas I was not happy. His partner came up, inspected the work, was very nice and said he would send a tile guy over to fix the broken tiles, put in the missing grout and recaulk the entire bathroom. That's when it became uncomfortable. Thomas seemed annoyed by me, and wasn't sure when they could finish the project. Anyway, after i kept "bugging" him for a date he gave me 12/31/12. I said ok. He was annoyed by me for sure. He did send a "tile" man. Who replaced some of the broken and scratched tiles. unfortunately these new tiles did not match the older tiles exactly, also he used a darker grout. Anyway, I had to use the grout that i had originally bought to touch up the darker grout and some other places where there was no grout at all. The caulking now looked good. Most of the bathroom looked good after I did the "touch ups" I am not thrilled with the mismatched tiles. This is what I wish had happened: Thomas should not have agreed to do the job. I should have gotten my money back and found someone else to do the job. I even offered Thomas more $ to complete the job properly, but he wouldn't take it. I do not think the company or the owners or workers are bad. I am sure that they would and could do good work, but this was an unfortunate situation that should not have happened in the first place. I guess he was annoyed that he agreed to do that big job for $300. I am sure that it would have cost more to do the job the way I wanted it done. Anyway, lesson learned. "you get what you pay for"... Again, I do not think this is a bad company, and I am sure they must do good work. I guess it was just a matter of miscommunication and misunderstanding. I am sure it was not profitable for his company and it was very frustrating for me. So, I guess I can't blame him for the problems, I just wish he had said that he could not do the job I had wanted done with those vouchers. Maybe he could have given me an estimate for what I had wanted done, and then, if I accepted, Done the job properly without being annoyed with me.

They were polite and it was easy to communicate with them. They gave a realistic estimate of how long the repair should last. They connected us with a roof repair company.

Thomas (company owner) and Dylan came on time and completed the work quickly and skillfully. Thomas was very generous with his time and expertise. He is very patient and nothing is a problem. It was serendipity that Thomas came on Oct 24, because Sandy came on Oct 29. Ditmas Park was the first contractor I called to come fix my house. They are mid-way through repairing extensive damage, and so far I am very happy with the work. I will post a full review when they are done.

It was very simple. I answered the daily deal. They came back quickly. We set a date for the job and they completed it on time.

I cannot give a good review - I feel as though the entire situation was dealt with unprofessionally. What made it particularly frustrating was that I confirmed the date and time several times over email, but when the time and day came - I heard nothing. I sat at home at 2p waiting for the person to come over, then 3p hit so I emailed them. Around 6p I got a reply - apparently someone was at my place waiting for 45 minutes, calling and leaving messages - which was odd to me, because I had no voicemails or missed calls, and no one stopped by. It was eventually sorted out that the worker went to the address found on my profile (which was incorrect - no clue how it was even there as I had created a fresh account at my new residence) but they did not go where I had emailed they should go via email. Wouldn't it make sense to have them double check this? He assured me someone had showed up and called me many times, and that his office had called (which I tried several times, but got no answer and a full answering machine) - but again, I had no missed calls or messages! Frustrated, I asked (via email, again) if they could come later - he said he would come at 7p considering the "circumstances" - I said okay, and sat waiting around again...until 8p rolled around. I emailed him (Jeremy I think?) telling him to forget it. Suddenly I actually get a phone call - he was downstairs and just saw my email. Of course I was still not going to have the work done, so who knows if he was actually there. Overall, I think it was entirely unprofessional and something I definitely did not expect coming from an Angie's List deal. If you are going to show up for an appointment, CONFIRM the address before arriving. If you're going to be late, it happens - but PLEASE CALL. I cannot recommend them, but if they were to follow these two simple steps of contracting work, I am sure you will actually be able to experience their services.

On a very short timeframe they came in and gave us a quote, returned as soon as the tenants left and finished earlier than expected, allowing the new tenants to get in a day early. The place looked disastrous when our previous tenants left and looked fantastic when the new people moved in. We definitely are planning to work with these people again as we further remodel after the current tenants leave; we move in next!

Got a "Big Deal" for caulking the sinks and tubs and grouting the bathroom floor. They guys were very flexible with getting me in their schedule and came out on time, did the jobs and advised on how to keep things looking as fresh as possible. Very happy with them!

I have not been able to utilize this yet. I'm hoping that I will be able to use at a later date. I really can't afford to pay $175 and receive nothing. I'm not sure if I can get a refund. I needed some tile laid in my small bathroom that I bought last year. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Long story, short. When someone came out to set up the job, the estimate was over $1,400.00. I knew it would probably be more than the $175. that I paid, but over $1,000 was way out of my range. I emailed them back in October, telling them that I couldn't afford the estimated price, they responded with "Not a problem". I have not heard from them since. I'm not sure what to do at this point, but I really can't afford to lose $175.00 this way. The person who came to house for the estimate was a nice guy.

This company does a very sloppy and rush job. The job was done 1 1/2 hour making my bathroom and kitchen worst then before. Now I have to hire someone else to fix the mess. Anything I pointed out the answer is "it's suppose to look like that.

Over the past 7 years the grout in the kitchen and both bathrooms became discolored. The acid wash cleaned it right up and it looks brand new now. Also, the caulking in the bathrooms around the bathtub and shower became moldy and broken. It looks very nice now

These guys went above and beyond. They didn't have a bit for a putting up some bars in a bathroom--a job they said they'd try to fit into to the four hours I had prepaid. They went out got the bit came back and put the bars in and didn't charge extra. They did a very good job and they were punctual and kept in touch. I would definitely use these guys again.

The company didn't respond to my initial email or voicemail. After my second call, the company usually responded to emails by the following day. I began communicating with the company on a Sunday and the work was done that following Saturday. The young man who came to do the work was punctual and very polite. I'd requested that traverse curtain rods be installed in both the living room and bedroom. This work was not performed. The young man tinkered with the rod in the living room for about 45 minutes, but then announced that he couldn't install the curtain rods because I'd purchased the wrong kind for my windows. (This turned out to be totally inaccurate. I later employed the services of someone who installed the rods in both rooms easily. The curtain rod that the polite young man "worked" on needed to be replaced!) After 2 hours and 15 minutes, the young man completed installing the kitchen blinds and bathroom shelves. (He also told me that some inserts were missing from the packaging for the shelves. I went back to the store to find that no inserts existed.) The work he performed seems perfectly adequate, excepting a decorative molding on the blinds that he said could not be installed. The estimate I received from the company stated that the work (installation of curtain rods, blinds, and bathroom shelves) would take one hour and cost only $50. Less than half the work was performed at twice the amount quoted. I ended up paying $112.50 and the curtain rods were still not installed in the bedroom and living room. I later paid someone else $80 to install the curtain rods in both rooms.

Ditmas Park Renovations were very good. I wouldn't say it was a terrific job because they didn't caulk around the sink or the base of the toilet bowel. The caulk had came loose so the water was seeping around the faucets and I did tell them about it, but it's still seeping and I think it needed a bit more caulk. They were very polite, but it was after they were gone I realized that they didn't do the toilet bowel, the faucet, and the sink and that was the main thing that I had wanted. The price was very good and I would consider using them in the future, but I would be more particular to point out what needed to be done. I just left it to them thinking that they knew what they were doing and I don't like breathing down people's necks when they're doing a job. On the surface it looked much better but when I started to look I saw that the job could have been better.

They were extremely cooperative, very pleasant and easy to work with. They handled all my concerns. They weren't perfect however, because I see a couple of small little cracks that they should of repaired before they painted. They were supposed to send two guys and complete the paining in one day. However, only one fellow showed up and it took him two days. He tried to get the job done quickly and he was excellent.

I bought a 2 day certificate for 2 painters per day for $800 and they painted the entire apt within the 2 days, however, the job was a bit rushed, especially since the building had requirements regarding what time work could be done. As a result some plastering in bathroom was overlooked & the paint job did not look as good in the bathroom. The rest of the apt. was fine, so overall it was okay, especially for the price. I think the job would have been better if they had more time to do the work.

They were great, did the work and due to a broken switch had to come back another day, which was fine.

I responded to the Big Deal. I was very pleased. I asked the owner about the other services of his compnay. He will provide an estimate for remodeling of two bathrooms.

Mr. Thomas Laurensen the co-owner, Jonathan, Austin and Dillon - all worked as a team and did a wonderful job.
