Empire State Moving

This was my first experience with a moving company, and I am very pleased with the result.

Overall the were extremely professional and the helped us pack our stereo and took care of her antique furniture so nothing was damaged and everything went very well. The staff was extremely nice and even helped us assemble things once we got to the apartment.

Excellent move. Arrived 15 minutes early. Wrapped furniture well (moved black laminate bedroom set) and did it as efficiently as possible. Friendly, reliable and answered every question during the process. The best mover I've dealt with in NY.

Picked up TV at my daughter's house in Fairfield, CT. My daughter was pleased with the care given in packing the item. She called at 11:00 am to say they were leaving and would arrive in about 1 1/4 hours (usual driving time). They arrived at my house in Bergen County, NJ, a distance of 60 miles, 2 1/2 hours later. It took about 10 minutes to bring TV in and set in in cabinet. Everything was intact. Price quote given me was for 5 hours time. Time taken was slightly over 4 hours. I'm sure I paid for an hour lunch stop; even then it didn't take 5 hours. I did not get a reduction in price.

Jose, Hector and Howard did a fantastic job. They carefully wrapped my furniture in blankets and moved a freestanding wardrobe closet down from a loft by tipping it over the edge. They worked quickly, finishing the job in about 4 hours and did not jack up the bill with other charges like some less reputable movers have been known to do. They were friendly, hard-working and complete professionals. This was the most pleasant moving experiences I have ever had and would not hesitate recommending them.

I called the company for an estimate. They set up an appointment for Friday afternoon at 5pm. (4 days later). At 5:30pm they called that they couldn't make it. They apologized and set up another appointment for the following Monday and said they would call at 9:30 on Monday morning. I have not heard from them since.

The service was excellent. They wrapped and packed the furniture. They disassembled and reassemble my Murphy Bed. They were very professional. I will use them again in the future.

People I spoke to in the office were pleasant, informative, and helpful. Estimator called in advance of the appointment to let me know he was on the way, but that there was a lot of traffic and he might be a little late. Estimate proceeded in a professional manner -he measured a piece that was going to need a crate - and he answered my questions. Out of 4 quotes this was the second highest, and I decided to take a lower one. ($8,000)

This is a very long overdue report. I think this is one of the best moving companies I have dealt with, and this is my third or fourth. I had an unusual move in that my sublet was sold, and I did not have the keys to my new place yet--at any minute I would get the call. The new place was only around the corner. If I did not get the keys that day, my stuff would have to go into storage. They were MORE than flexible and understanding, from moving the time to later in the day (in hopes that the keys would magically appear) to where they were going to take my crap when they were finished--even though I wouldn't know until they were done. They were careful with all my stuff, even the crappy crap, and boxed and wrapped where needed. They were all very nice, helpful, and sympathetic. Once we realized my stuff will have to go into storage for a bit, they didn't flinch or have any sort of judgment despite my frustration and embarrassment at the scenario. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Jon Stout was very helpful when I called to ask about this job, and gave me an estimate of $350.00. We set the date for this past Tuesday morning. The only slight hiccup was that they forgot to call me when leaving headquarters, as I had to go over to the first pick up place to meet them. However, I called the office and found out they were en route, so no harm was done. The men were very professional, efficient and courteous They brought all the necessary equipment to get this monster TV unit safely transported. And they handled my son's move with great speed, seemingly not even out-of-breath after climbing all the stairs up to his new place! The only additional charge was a $10 fee I paid for an additional $1,000.00 liability coverage for the TV. We were dreading the move, minor though it was, but Moving Man, Inc. made it very painless for us. It was good to have a licensed, professional mover, and we highly recommend them!

They were very helpful with pinpointing my needs. This was the first time I hired a mover and they explained to me everything they were going to do also the estimate was very detailed.

They were a good crew of people, I've moved many places in NYC and felt most comfortable with them. They were very direct and took feedback and suggestions and also pointed out some ideas we didn't even think of.

Moving Man completed the job on time and under budget. All personnel were courteous and professional. In addition, they went over and above, by providing used packing materials free of charge, and were very willing to work with us in what was admittedly a challenging situation (involving 2 destinations and a difficult building staff).

I had new flooring put into these rooms and everything needed to be out of the way. When all was done, I called and within fours days that had it all moved back in. I have used them once before when I moved in originally about 3-4 years ago and liked them. They are very careful and I had no damage, including on the paintings. Everything was great! They even finished $50 under the estimate.

I had a small moving project that other moving companies did not want to deal with, not so with Moving Man. The initial conversation to set up the appointment to the completion of the move all employees were pleasant and efficient. The movers arrived early which was much appreciated and completed the move without incident.

I found Moving Man through this site. They were responsive on the phone and called me back with a reasonable quote. On moving day, they showed up only a little past the appointed time, due to the president visiting NYC. They worked quickly, blanketing and taping up all the furniture. They packed the paintings in cartons which they supplied. Please note that these were not in the quote and I was charged for tape and packing materials over the moving price quoted. I should have asked about material costs up front, although it might be hard for them to gauge that beforehand. They took a break for lunch and I met them at my home. Everything was unloaded carefully. They moved the furniture where I wanted it, even helping me rearrange one piece they didn't move. The movers were pleasant and professional. Afterward, I couldn't find one piece and they contacted the driver and called me back within an hour. He told me where I could find it! I was very satisfied.

They were on time, friendly, helpful, quick and very careful with my belongings. Job was completed in less time than estimated.

These guys were efficient, professional and careful, but the best part is they came in $100 under what the estimate had been. I really couldn't have been happier. I have already recommended them to all my friends.

Things went as expected. Movers finished ahead of schedule and under budget (less than quoted price). However, movers did not show up on time. In fact, I don't think they left the shop until I called asking where they were. They showed up in less than 30 min. and all other services exceeded expectations.

We were recommended moving man by our estate agent. We thought the estimator was personable and competent and the estimate fair so we hired them. The move was so stress free we were surprised. The team was personable and competent and the fees were as estimated. We decided to hire them for the second stage a month later. This time they estimated a two man team for 5 hours. But there was serious transport disruption from rain. Subways on both sides of town were not working. The company informed us promptly that there would be delays and scheduled a midday start rather than 9:00 am. The manager came round to confirm the estimate and the rescheduling and we changed our requirements to include some packing and extra items of furniture. The team was increased to a 3 man team leading to an ultimate cost increase from $650 to $800. Given the transport disruption and our last minutes additional requirements were we were still pleased with the service.

We had some coupons from Angie's List and they would not honor them. I am not sure why. Anyways, they did a good job. They took a little longer than we had expected (about eight hours it took). We packed everything, but they packed all the furniture in very will. They did destroy our filling cabinet, but that is understandable. I really did not care that much about it. They quoted us a price and it was good. They were reliable. They had to carry my refrigerator upstairs and put my piano in the elevator. It was pretty interesting.

This was a same day service. They started at nine o'clock in the morning and delivered everything to the new place at three o'clock that afternoon.

We moved on a holiday weekend, and booked 3 weeks in advance. Kal provided an estimate by phone. Vladimir did the on-site estimate and explained factors affecting the cost, and tips on packing by ourselves. This practical approach to the estimate, the very reasonable estimate (lowest per hour), and their availability on a holiday weekend made them our top choice. The moving team (Jose, Howard and Maurice) arrived near the appointed time, were friendly, professional and fantastically efficient. We planned to pack ourselves (a factor in our conservative estimate), but a family crisis halted the packing. The unpacked items were just handled matter of fact, the move finished with only an extra hour, and the cost was only a little more than the estimate, even with the extra packing. All the company representatives we interacted with were professional, courteous (friendly!), knowledgeable, and efficient. This move was our smoothest ever. We would definitely use them again.

I called four companies about moving my stuff to my current apartment. All of them were very professional. All of the estimates provided were similar. In the end I selected Moving Man because the employee I spoke with gave a great deal of attention to detail. This was impressive. The move was GREAT! The employees on the job that day were kind. They did the work in a short period of time (I thought it would take longer). None of my possessions were broken or damaged.

Great experience from a highly professional organization. They sent an estimator who took a thorough look at my place and gave me packing tips in addition to a conservative estimate. The crew arrived on time and did a great job wrapping and carefully moving my stuff. (I had packed my non-furniture items in boxes myself.) The estimate had been 6.5 hours and they finished in 4.5 hours. No games, just a professional and responsible organization and crew. I would use them again for any other move I had.
