Description of Work: They replaced a latch on the door of my dishwasher. The technician was definitely competent and knew the work. Work was completed very quickly. The only questions I have are about the price of the job and why it was so expensive for 15 minutes of work. Granted I don't know the cost of the part but it seemed costly for that amount of labor. They did come on time, but the first time they were supposed to come between 4 and 7 and didn't notify me that they couldn't get the part that day until 5 and would have to reschedule. I understand not getting the part but a little advance notice would be nice when I have to leave work early to be there for their window of time. Nevertheless, the work was completed in a totally satisfactory way, and I appreciate a job well done.

Description of Work: On 9/3/15 the technicians from AV arrived and diagnosed that we needed a new drain pump for our Bosch washing machine. They returned on 9/9/15 and installed the new pump. We attempted to use the machine that evening. The machine stopped working. The AV technician returned the next morning. He diagnosed the the main computer board burned out. He said that we should purchase a new machine. He took the pump he had installed and refunded us the cost of the pump and the installation. He was very honest about the problem and did not try and sell us anything we did not need. We have since replaced the washing machine. Overall service was excellent.

Description of Work: I called about my shaking washing machine. How nice was it to speak to someone immediately! They listened and agreed to send someone out. The first appointment we made didn't occur because of some confusion in our communication, but they sent someone the very next day, with my time constraints in mind, and they arrived ON TIME, friendly and went straight to work. They evaluated my washer, told me what it would cost to repair it and left. The visit took about an hour, maybe a little more, but I know that if I have the repair work done, I will use AV. They provided me with a written estimate as well. Really a great experience.

Description of Work: Replaced broken buttons on my stove and the ice dispenser lever on my freezer. This required one trip to examine the broken appliances and another to return with the replacement parts.

Description of Work: Asked them to look at fridge, dryer and range of a new house. Fixed the fridge and charged a lot for what was a pretty basic repair. Repairman hurt his hand during the repair and left. Came back a couple of days later to look at others - quoted huge price for range so told him I wasn't interested.

Description of Work: What a great experience. I used AV Appliance Service a few months ago to fix my Kenmore gas oven. The oven had a bad thermostat and took a very long time to reach a set temperature. When I first spoke to the company, I provided them the model of the stove and we set a service date. | |They called to ask to come earlier than our original appointment time. Even still they arrived a little early. The service guy (sorry I have forgotten his name) was very friendly and professional. He answered all of my and my wife's questions fully and made sure we understood the answers. | |Our unit was also having issues with some of the stove-top eye starters. Once he inspected it/them he told us that there is not a need to replace or work on them at this point. There was no pressure place on us to have the work done immediately. | |The best parts about using AV Appliance Service were (not in any particular order): |1) He replaced the thermostat quickly and stayed to test its performance. |2) Showed up on time (this was without a large 4-hr window) |3) He made sure we understood what he was doing |4) He brought the correct replacement part. A second trip was not needed |5) When explaining the problem and the health of the oven, he was a |'just the facts' kind of guy. |6)Pricing was under $175.00. I not sure if this is typical pricing for Manhattan but if not, the experience was so stress-free, it was worth it. | |I highly recommend this company. I will use them again. I hope this helps. |

Description of Work: They claim that the appliance was too old and they would not be able to find the part that needed to be replaced. They should have refunded the money that was charged upfront.
