 + 0 moreI was happy with the way I was treated and the workers were very helpful and did not try to get me to buy anything I did not need. I even inquired about a chimney liner and was told it was not necessary. I had some trouble getting my chimney flue open (one reason why I called) and they took the time to help me with that and show me (outside) how I could tell it was open even if it didn't seem like it on the inside. So I appreciated that as well. I thought that the chimney sweep happened very quickly and seemed more like just a vacuum than an actual sweep so this is the only reason I gave a "B" for quality. Maybe it was because my chimney was generally fine and didn't so I didn't need a thorough cleaning.
Description of Work: I had my chimney inspected and evaluated for a chimney liner.

 + 0 moreOverall, I would use Bobby at Ageless Chimney again and have recommended him to my neighbor. The assistant at Ageless told me to expect Bobby at 9 am (within the 8 am - 10 am) slot... unfortunately he arrived late (around 10:30 am). But once he did arrive, he was quick, straightforward, reasonable and helpful. He gave me quick estimates on the work I needed done, explained it simply and clearly and then got to work quickly. He was flexible on payment types, too. Bobby was kind enough to offer to help with a few things around the room that was great--lifting a couple of things and identifying some hardware I needed to purchase. Would use Ageless Chimney again!

 + -1 moreThe appointment time was between 2-4 PM and I was contacted at 2:35 PM and asked it I could be home at 3 PM. I left work early and rushed home. NO ONE SHOWED UP. I called the agency to find out what was happening after 30-40 minutes had gone by and no one picked up so I left a message. I waited until 5 PM and still no response so I left another message. I called today to let the receptionist know what happened and she did not have a reason for what happened. What a completely unprofessional operation. I took off work early and wasted time that I'll have to make up thanks to Ageless.
Description of Work: I called Ageless Chimney to stop by my home to perform a consultation on our gas chimney.

 + -1 moreMy chimney looked crooked and i feared it might fall and it also had a lot of holes in the morter of the cinder blocks so i called Ageless because of the very good reviews they got on Angies list. They came right away. I told them I wanted it made straight which means they had to remove 9 rows of block from the top down. A week later they started the job and they told me the chimney is strong as a rock when they tried to remove the blocks and it was just too difficult. They also told me I dont have to fear it falling down. I'm glad they were honest with me. So we agree on removing the crown and putting new ceramic on top and also a chimney cap, fill the holes and paint the whole chimney. Then it rained. So they had to come back. It took about a month to finally complete the job because of bad weather and they also had other jobs. I was hoping it would be done sooner but I'm glad it finally got done. It probably would have got done sooner if I lived in Long Island instead of Brooklyn. They had to travel a long way from Long Island.

 + 0 moreI was told by plumbers who I had asked for estimates to convert my oil heating system to a gas heating system to have a chimney liner installed in connection with the conversion. When Ageless' owner arrived, he gave me an estimate and I asked if he could recommend a plumber as well. He recommended Outstanding Plumbing, with whom he has a relationship. I was very impressed by Outstanding Plumbing and I hired both of them to do the job. The chimney liner and cap were installed by Ageless in less than an hour. I was very pleased with their work. Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy has delayed the installation of the gas boiler.

Description of Work: I was having a problem with a commercial building in Queens I own. A tenant was complaining of a leak in the ceiling of his bedroom.We had this problem before and thought it was a roofing problem. We had the roof repaired several times in last 2 yrs coming to realize that it could be our chimney that needs repair and no one had mentioned that possibility. I am a new member of Angie's List. I first heard of them on channel 7 ABC news. I tried calling 3 chimney repair companies and was very pleased with customer service to all 3 companies. Two of the 3 kept in touch and explained that they were busy and will come as soon as possible. Unfortunately, (not their fault) the weather wasn't cooperating. I needed Immediate help. Bob from Ageless Chimney came immediately on the same day. I was told from 9am - 12pm and he arrived approx. at 10am. He was very friendly, courteous and examined the Chimney from top to bottom. He went on the roof and told me my cap has fallen off from the rain storm we had a few days before. He said my chimney bricks needed mason work. He then went to the basement and checked the gas furnace( we had converted from oil to gas 15 yrs ago and never thought we needed to continue maintenance.) Due to the type of businesses in the building. A Barber shop and a Nail Salon both using a lot of water, Bob explained I will get a lot of moisture build- up in the chimney from Hot water use. It all made sense!). We both saw a lot of debri and that I needed a new liner. It was important to change because of possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Bob explained it all to me thoroughly. He fixed the leak problem and is coming back today to replace the liner in the chimney that has collapsed. I had previously called before the 3 I called from Angie's List a Masonry repair man and he didn't even go to the roof or to the basement and quoted me $3,800.00 for a new Chimney and Flue.Bob from Ageless was excellent! Prompt, thorough in explaining and Honest. He quoted me and is doing the job for $1800.00 which I feel is very reasonable.

 + 0 moreThey were very thorough in inspecting the chimney, took pictures and explained the situation to us in detail. The pricing was reasonable and fair. They started the work the following day and completed the job in two days. They were pleasant, professional and are very competent in their field. With regard to the detached garage, they explained what needed to be done to repair the garage and restore it to a structurally safe building. They gave us an estimate and because of all the work that we had done in such a short period of time, they were very sensitive to our financial situation. They rebuilt the walls making the garage almost as good as new We would highly recommend them for not only chimney work but for all phases of construction. Bobby Bruno, Sherwood and their entire crew made two stressful situations as pleasant as could possibly be under the circumstances
Description of Work: We saw that our chimney was leaning to one side and appeared to be unsafe. We called Bobby Bruno that same day and they came over to inspect the chimney immediately after work that evening. In addition, when we purchased the house, we were informed that the detached garage was structurally unsafe and as a result we very rarely used it. Because of their excellent work on the chimney, we asked them to look at our garage.
