Con Ed shut off gas at my parents house due to a suspected leak back in April. It literally took them less than 10 mins from initial call to the time they arrive to shut everything down. While scrambling for plumbers, we stumbled upon Hydraulics. Angelo came for a walk thru and was told we had to get asbestos report done (which was really just a waste of $450) but needed to do it anyway before he could come and installed new pipes the following day (it was a one day job). The day after pipes were installed, we were told that Con Ed would come to turn gas back on- which was not the case because Con Ed was such a nightmare to deal with- They dont give you a reasonable time frame of when they will come and my parents waited the entire day and no one showed! Even at 10pm, we were told that they would still come because; the emergency teamwork 24/7. Frustrated, I called Con Ed the next day and was told that; yes, everything is fine and they will come today, and another call half hour later saying; the plumber did not complete the checklist and we that we have to wait until Monday; Like are you serious right now? Why are you telling me different stories? I told Tina the situation and learned that Con Ed DOES THIS ALL THE TIME- because they are understaffed and would make up any excuses possible and make it seem like the fault is on YOU. Anyhow, Tina made a few calls and Con Ed came within a few hours and gas was back on. Then came the Department of Building issue. All appliances have to be registered and they changed their policy where licensed plumbers cannot do self inspection and someone from DOB has to come for the walk thru- THAT took 3 weeks and we finally got the clearance/ sign off on the job yesterday. There was also a lag time of a few weeks getting someone from DOB to come. I just wanted to thank Tina and Angelo for the whole process. They are professional people to work with. The only thing my dad complained was the holes Angelo made on the ceiling and some broken panels while installing the gas pipes- like other reviewers had mentioned.

Hydraulic s came to do the job on time and finished it within the time which was planned. On the negative side is the fact that the job site was left dirty and all the old plumbing fittings were left behind.

We needed a plumber who could navigate the ins and outs of Con Ed requirements for replacing gas piping in an old house. In addition to doing an amazing job with the pipe work, they were able to keep up with the paperwork and inspections required by Con Ed. Tina and Angelo are true gems! We didn't have to do a thing except meet Con Ed to turn the gas back on. They did everything in a timely and a professional manner and kept us informed of what was going on. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs excellent work for a fair price.

The gas was shut off due to a gas leak, could not find anyone to do the work right away, since it was a holiday week. When I called Hydraulics, Tina was so courteous, professional and friendly on the phone. Angelo came right away, he explained to me what had to be done, very professional and courteous. He gave me a quote, which was reasonable, for an emergency, since the temperature was freezing and I had no heat. Angelo came on time the next day to do the job and was able to get the gas turned on that same day. I highly recommend Hydraulics Mechanical; they are amazing, reliable and trustworthy. We had a gas leak on a Saturday night. National grid turned off our gas and required pipe replacement etc to get it back on. Angelo and Tina were very detailed and responsive. Gas was restored on the earlier side of our expectation (Friday morning). Angelo has been out to the house three times already to make sure everything is working correctly. I initially thought the price was pretty high but the follow up has made it all worthwhile. Would definitely use them again.

Good, staff prompt. Price somewhat negotiable. Quality of proposal documents could be more detailed for my taste. I generally prefer itemized breakdown clearly defining each activity and labor and material (L&M) breakdown associated with tasks. The proposal had a level of mystery. I was provided the lump sum price with 50% deposit with scope.

In middle of freezing temperature, Con Edison shut off gas service due to gas leak from the laundry room at my mom's house after random inspection inside the house. I could understand the safety concern. But, for the fact that Con Edison just left my mom in cold without any actions to place her in a safer place made me upset and mad. I live in Virginia. When I found out from her about what happened, I had to find a licensed plumber to take care of the situation. I immediately searched on HoneAdvisor. As soon as I submitted my inquiry, Tina from Hydraulics called me. Understand that this was all happening late night on Sunday. I was very impressed how quickly she responded. I explained to her about no heat and no hot water at my mom's house and she sent Angelo, the plumber, the next day. Apparently, turning the gas back on was not a simple process when it involved Con Edison. A lot of paperwork, need to wait for permits and official from the city... Tina warned me it would be costly and taking at least a couple of weeks. The same day, the permit process started and Angelo showed up the next morning to start the gas piping replacement. We still had to wait for Con Edison to inspect and turn on the gas. However, according to Con Edison email, it would take about 30 days to send an inspector. Understanding, our situation, Tina kept calling Con Edison until they sent someone within days to inspect and turn on the gas back. Simply wow! I could not thank enough for Tina and Angelo's prompt and efficient work. If I must complain about one thing about Angelo's work, after the gas piping replacement, he left a huge hole on ceiling. He claimed it was not his responsibility to repair it since he only does plumbing. I hope we don't have any plumbing issue again in future. If we ever do, I know whom to call.

Very fast and friendly service, The gas company turned my gas off due to a leak, I contacted them and with in 30 min Tina had Angelo there to see and give me an estimate. Hire them and 2 hrs after the job was completed. Just waiting to get get gas back on in an hour or so. 100 recommendation for this company

Very professional, Honest, straight forward, had to do gas piping work and Angelo was very honest told me exactly what needed to be done, and did not inflate the price, speedy process Tina call me and got me a appointment the following day and came to work on the piping that Monday since I was out of the country that weekend, they were able to setup a day for me right after I come back.  Angelo did the piping and got the gas turn back on the following day which was a Tuesday.  That is something else when other plumbers I have talked to either gave a high quote or does not give me a time frame when gas will be back on. as well as stated all the piping needed to be changed.  so to Hydraulics mechanical inc. Angelo and Tina Great job. highly recommend to other people. unless you prefer to be rip off.

I don't.have anything to compare this kind of job to. But,It is not a job you want done second rate.For peace of mind alone.I after meeting with the plumber.Owner of the co.and master plumber himself,I felt I was in very good hands all around.So price had to be secendary...Peace of mind and a job well done came first! Angelo the plumber is honest, thorough and fair pricing. He is patient and he completed two large jobs for me. He actually calls the next day and for few days they follow up with you to see if everything is working great. His wife Tina who runs the office is most available in getting answers and setting the appointments.

Very prompt, professional, and help you to stay within your budget for repairs. They also fully explain all your options.

Highly recommend. Work Fast and good communication. I will hire them again if I have a new project.

I have been a property owner for the past 16 year and have never been this pleased, satisfied and impressed. I called the office and Tina patiently listened to me. My gas service had been shot down because there was a gas leak in the header pipe. I had contacted 5 different plumbers and every single one of them magnified the problem and quoted me outrageous estimates. I was very frustrated. Tina promptly arranged an appointment and Angelos was here the same morning. He is such a professional an honest person! He identified the problem immediately, gave me a reasonable estimate and told me he could fixed the problem the next day. He came in very early, 15 minutes before the appointment, started working right away and by noon everything was finished. I called National Grid and they came the next day to inspect the work and turn the gas back on. He inspector from the gas company was highly impressed with the job that was performed. He said it was impeccable. He even pointed out that that he has been doing inspections for many years and Angelo's job was probably the best he had seen. I am extremely pleased with the Hydraulic Mechanics. I can't stress enough how professional, honest and efficient they are. Thank you very much!

I had an apartment building in Flushing NY needed to convert from oil heating to gas heating, I found few contractors but none of them could help until I found Hydraulic Mechanical inc. on Homeadvisor.com. Angelo, the owner and Tine the assistant were very experienced, professional and friendly. They handled the job smoothly from submitting applications to completing the job with no problems. Most of all, the price was very reasonable. I give a five stars rating and highly recommended them.

He was very reassuring

Soon after my wife and I moved into our home, we had repeated gas leak problems. We called in several plumbers for an estimate, and after speaking with Angelo, we went with him - he communicated the problem clearly, gave a very competitive estimate, was extremely efficient in getting the job done, was respectful of our home, and was readily available to answer further questions. And he tells some pretty hilarious stories, which was a nice bonus during a stressful time.

Very responsive & prompt service! We had a gas leak that needed to be fixed. Angelo came to see the problem the day we placed the request in with Home Advisor, explained to us what needed to be done, gave us a good estimate we agreed with & the following day all the work was started & finished! Everything was well done, we passed the City inspection with no problems. If we have other plumbing problems in the future, we would look for Hydraulics Mechanical to resolve them.

We recently purchased a home that was found to have appliances that were improperly installed as well as being unregistered with our local department of buildings. I called Hydraulics for a quick estimate as this project needed to be completed as swiftly as possible so gas services could be restored and we could move into our new home. Angelo came out and explained everything in great detail. I had an estimate the very next day. Once we were ready to proceed, Tina worked with us to ensure that the proper permit was filed with the city and scheduled Angelo to be onsite the next business day. Angelo completed the job in 1 day and my gas services were restored that very same day. Everything seemed to be functioning except for the hot water heater. I called Angelo, who came back to the house to look that very next day. He couldn't fix the issue right away, but returned the next morning to address the issue. He was not only able to fix the issue, but did it at no charge. Thank you very much to both Tina and Angelo at Hydraulics Mechanical. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing related job.
