PROFESSIONAL FIRE RESTORATION

Beware ... Your items will be stolen and what you get back will be damaged. No accountability a bunch of liars and thieves. Even stole my air conditioning unit. A fire is bad enough the experience with these guys made it even worse.

The experience was terrible for having Wood stove fire and water damage caused damage in several rooms throughout the house which he was hired to mitigate against mold and further damage. He came to my house and talked about the remediation and mitigation services that would be provided. He stated that a crew would be over later that day to start these services (it was about 1pm when this conversation occured). After we agreed that he would provide these services, he asked bluntly if we would have him provide all the additional services such as renovations because it wouldn't be worth his time if he wouldn't get the go ahead for the next contract to bring in all his equipment. I stated that I didn't know because the insurance company hadn't contacted me yet, and we need for the these problems to be resolved immediately and we would let him know about the rest of the work that could be potentially done. He called at about 8pm saying that CVS's water pipe broke and he wouldn't be able to start until 10:30am the next morning(we see how priorities work right?). His crew showed up at 1:30pm the next day, and didn't provide the services we had agreed upon. He had agreed to move wood that was surrounding the wood stove and stack outside, remove the wet carpet in the room of the fire, clean debris on the outside lawn caused by the fire, deploy de-humidification equipment and other machinery to dry the house, and to install a new locking doorknob so they had access to the house. After he told me that he would not be there that night, he did not send anyone to install the lock on the door to ensure the property was safe (I did not receive a key to this door when I bought the house a few months ago), so I had to change the doorknobs after I received his phone call. The wood surrounding the stove that he said would be stacked outside was stacked even higher on a piece of wet carpet that he was supposed to remove. When I called him regarding this issue and what his crew had done, he said "I don't stack wood", SURE but you agreed to it when you coaxed me into signing the authorization to charge my insurance because I wouldn't have paid you anything! The debris outside on the lawn still remains, and when he told me he wasn't doing any of the agreed upon terms I fired him. He immediately (within an hour) was there to pick up his equipment, and only gave me back one key although I gave him two. This business and mostly David Johnson preys on people who are vulnerable during a crisis and being in an industry he is in, he doesn't need repeat customers so expect the worst. If you do go with him, I feel sorry for you. If you want pictures of the work before and after and what he tried to charge my insurance company I'll let you know in a few weeks.

To keep this short the best thing anybody can do in their life is not use this business. This was the worst experience in our life he is the biggest LIAR most unprofessional person ever have dealt with in my life. Also the people he has working for him talk about him behind his back. And the people he hires had to come back to redo things several times because there work was bad. Cannot even explain how unprofessional he was with continued calls to me with lies wanted money up front no work done for two weeks at a time. To many bad experiences to mention don't know how he runs this business and keeps it. This statement is written by my son whose house it is and had to deal with him but I also spoke to him.

This company was fairly good. The quality of their work and level of communication was also pretty good. I didn't have too many complaints other than the final bill exceeded the estimate by about $6,000. Overall, I would recommend this company to others.

Are you serious? First, we should have known something was questionable when they asked who was paying for the job - us or the insurance company. They'd give us a different estimate depending. Because they got such great reviews on Angie's List we hired them. They asked for half of the job cost upfront. That's some deposit ($2000). They did the work before we moved in and when we took a close look at everything, it was obvious that they had missed two bathrooms and two rooms. The radiators were full of dust and dirt and there were black streaks up the walls above them. Anyone could see that they weren't cleaned. I called three times before anyone called me back. I was told they would look into the discrepancy and that I could confront the person who was in charge of the job. What? I told them to come and finish the job they were hired to do which they did the next day. We watched them vacuum the radiator, spray the solution, and wipe up the drips on the floor.

THEY CAME IN AND DID THE JOB VERY WELL. THEY WERE EXCELLENT. THEY GOT HERE AT THE TIME THAT THEY HAD ORIGINALLY TOLD ME THEY'D GET HERE. THEY WORKED THROUGH THEIR JOB AND THEY DIDN'T TAKE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF BREAKS. THEY KNEW WHAT TO USE ON THE SURFACES, SO THAT THEY WERE CLEAN.
