Description of Work: Complete interior painting. House is occupied, has pets and adults. Color were not changed. Contractor was responsive, did what we asked him to do, did a great job, no surprises. He also did drywall repair, and some exterior touch-up.

Description of Work: I did not hire! The bid I was given was to paint just the top trim of my house, gutters, and power wash. There is no dry rot or needed extras. 2600 is what I paid for a new redwood fence that's six foot tall, how is paint the same cost as redwood?

Description of Work: They are great. Kirk showed up on time for his estimate appointment, got back with an excellent price and began the work when promised. His employees are thoughtful and very professional. They showed up each day at 7 AM and worked until shortly after 5 PM. They cleaned up each day and did a great job on the exterior of our house. I recommend them highly. They even brought their own porta-potty to the job site. The final product is beyond perfect. First class all the way. Feel free to drive by and see the completed job.

Description of Work: Our agreement was for painting the exterior of my house and the installation of a new side door to the garage. In the course of removing old caulking, they found that the siding on the entire north side of the house had water damage, which didn't surprise me. I decided all of it should be replaced. Vandermark and Son agreed to remove the old siding and install new siding with appropriate trim for $1,500, juggling their schedule to fit it in with their other jobs. There was mold under the old siding, which also did not surprise me. Vandermark and Son expertly removed the old siding, treated the mold, and installed new siding of a higher quality than the old siding. They also performed a number of small repairs and improvements at no additional charge. The carpentry, painting, door installation and other work was done in a professional and expert manner. I am very satisfied with their work, helpfulness and courteous manner. Mr. Vandermark and his lead worker, Delfino, were especially responsive, professional and creative in resolving the unexpected structural issues with my house. As an example of their attention to detail, Delfino, dissatisfied with the dryer vent to be attached to the outside of the house, found an one with an inventive design that is not only effective, but also attractive and inconspicuous.

Description of Work: Painted my house and replaced trim were needed. Mark and staff were very professional and very very clean. Mark was always prompt in returning my calls. Had a misunderstanding on the color of my door, but he repainted it with no problem and no extra charge. I will be using him again in the future. Anything I wanted was no problem.

 + -1 moreI got 3 bids for the job. I talked to 3 different painting contractors and walked the building with them. Kirk Vandermark seemed the most knowledgable and his bid was competitive. My instincts told me I should give him a try. I was right. He and his crew came in, did the job, and did the job well. They got it done on time and within my budget. The quality of the workmanship was superb, and my law office is now the nicest looking office building in the area. I would HIGHLY recommend you use Vandermark Painting and their crew. Decent, honest people.
Description of Work: Kirk Vandermark and his assistant painters painted and refurbished the exterior of my law office on Lakeside Drive in Reno. He also sanded and redwood stained the deck and did significant prepping. He also did the lattice siding and coordinated that effort with the painting.

 + -1 moreFrom the initial call I made requesting an estimate, Kirk Vandermark was prompt, courteous, and professional. His estimate was lower than others I received, which was good, but I wouldn't have chosen the lowest bidder if I didn't believe he would do the best job. Kirk worked with me in selecting the colors and I am very pleased with the end result. Although more paint was needed than originally thought, he honored the original quote. When the job was finished, the cleanup was complete. Except for my new, beautiful paint job, you would never know that they had been there!

 + -1 moreSome friends recently had their house painted by Kirk Vandermark. After examining the quality of the work and receiving the recommendation of my friends, I asked Kirk to give me an estimate. I had already requested estimates from 5 other painting contractors. The reason I requested so many estimates is because my house has a large aluminum patio cover that needs special care to avoid damage. Four out of 6 contractors wanted nothing to do with it. I had originally selected the other contractor as they submitted the lower bid, but they proved unreliable in getting back to me and showing up when promised. After turning to Kirk, work started on the promised date. The prep work was good - they removed all old caulking before re-caulking. With other contractors I had to specifically request Consumer Products recommended Kelly-Moore paint, but it was the brand that Kirk already used. The crew acted politely and professionally and appeared eager to please. The price was a little on the high side, but I felt I could trust Kirk to handle the tricky patio cover without worrying about damages. While making a final examination, at Kirks request, I discovered the painters had missed painting a piece of trim above the gutter. When I informed Kirk he apologized for the oversight and came out immediately to correct the error. In addition I asked Kirk to change the color of two roof vent's trim and slats, and I told him to add the charge to the final bill. Kirk said not to worry about it and made the change without additional charge. Overall I'm very pleased with Kirk, his crew, and the quality of their work, and I will recommend Vandermark Painting to my friends and neighbors.
