+ 0 moreWe recently purchased a home that's been vacant for 2 years, so it was no surprise that we found a number of plumbing problems that needed fixing. I spoke with a few plumbers off of Angie's List and decided on MC Plumbing. Mark, the owner, was polite, professional and his prices were very reasonable. One thing that I like about Mark's pricing is that he'll quote a flat fee for the project(s). This is a win-win, because we both agree on a price before the job is performed, and obviously it's a price that we're both happy with. So, there's no worry about the plumber taking his time (if he's working on an hourly fee). Mark's son, Patrick, and Carlos were the plumbers that did all the work and they were great! They were very professional, and I didn't feel that they were rushing through the job. We did determine that one of the toilets could not be fixed, and that we would have to install a new toilet. My car wasn't large enough to accommodate a new toilet, so Mark had Patrick and Carlos follow me in their van to Lowes and they brought the new toilet back to our house. On their time!! WOW!! That's what you call service! How happy are we with MC Plumbing? Well, a few days later, the water heater broke down. We had no hot water. I called Mark at MC Plumbing and he gave me a great price for a brand new water heater. He had Carlos come right over and install it. And this was on a Sunday! Mark didn't charge us an additional "weekend" fee and Carlos was off that day; but, he came over and did a great job. Plumbing (and plumbers) can be scary. We've heard plenty of horror stories from friends. I can't tell you how happy we were with MC Plumbing, and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

+ -1 moreSince MC Plumbing did an outstanding job installing a new water heater at our commercial location earlier in the month, when my mother needed plumbing work performed at her home, I immediately called them on her behalf. Her pool was being drained, and the pool technician needed to recycle the water by accessing the house's mainline sewer. The tech, however, could not remove the clean-out cap because it was covered with concrete, due to the negligent work of a stamped-concrete contractor. After my initial phone call to MC Plumbing, a technician was on site within 90 minutes. He effectively removed the concrete, opened the cap, and snaked the mainline sewer. The pool water was recycled. MC Plumbing once again did a superlative job. I make the highest recommendation without reservation.

+ -1 moreMy Hot water heater was not working so I called the company. I was initially told to call the company for the warranty. I explained the builder was bought out and I have not been able to get a response for anything from Pulte. It was suggested that I just replace the 4 Yr old water heater at a cost of around $ 600.00. He was also aware I pulled his phone number from Angie's List. I told him no thank you. I went back outside - turned the gas switch off - then pushed it down on pilot for over one minute - set it back to the run position - and pushed the ignitor - and the Water Heater went WOOOMM!! and the burner was back on. And I saved $ 600.00 and I will make sure not to call this company again.

Job ended up being more complicated than expected and the plumber had to run around to several places to find an obscure part. They still didn't charge any extra and its a good, solid job. I almost feel guilty, like I robbed them. I have more jobs in the future and plan on calling them.

+ -1 moreProvided next day service. 2-man team arrived promptly within the scheduled 2-hr window. Installed faucets efficiently--we had to buy 2 angle stops from them but that was no surprise since house is 15 years old and water is very hard here. Price of part provided before installation. Usual mark-up compared with buying it yourself at Lowe's but partially offset by the Senior discount which I asked about at the end of the job--they called the boss and he approved it. Glad I remembered to ask! Only minor glitch was that the faucet for the smaller "vegetable" sink is tight, doesn't swivel easily. I pointed this out and the plumber's helper said that the faucet stem was a bit thicker than the original faucet so it was a tight fit. Had I known this before the installation was completed we might have tried to grind the granite down to allow a looser fit. Since the faucet was already fully installed, I decided I could live with this. Overall I was pleased with the work, thought the price was competitive, and appreciated the fact that the head plumber (Carlos) carefully inspected the work of his helper, made some corrections, checked carefully for leaks, etc.
Description of Work: Installed two new faucets in kitchen sinks. I had previously purchased the faucets online--did not buy them from MC Plumbing.

+ 0 moreWhen the water heater started leaking, the hallway below became flooded due to an old and inefficient water heater pan and a clogged drain line. My tenant was concerned that the leak would cause water damage to his professional audio equipment. Since the water heater was originally plumbed incorrectly, I couldn't just turn off the hot water; I had to turn off all the water to the suite, which caused a hardship to my tenant and his customers. Mark was contacted immediately, and he kept me informed regarding his ETA. Upon arrival, his plumber drained the water heater and installed a copper loop, which allowed cold water to flow to the suite. Several days later after an attic access was installed in the restroom (there was no other way to remove the old water heater and install the new one), Mark and his crew returned to perform the aforementioned work in a professional and diligent manner. Needless to say, my tenant and I are extremely happy, and business operations are back to normal. Mark and his crew are consummate pros, respectful and ethical. I make the highest recommendation without reservation.

Replumbed copper line and installed emergency shut-off valves. Tested drain line. Hauled away old units. Included on invoice a 6-year warranty on water heater; 1-year on labor.

+ 0 moreMark and his crew were fantastic. They came out on a Sunday, no problem. They arrived within 1.5 hrs from when I called. When I spoke to Mark he knew right away what the problem was. They were fast, less than an hour. He quoted between $400-$900 and he charged me $425.
Description of Work: Had problem with no water from master bathroom sink/toilet and also washing machine. Water pressure in shower was very low. Also, had a reddish sandy discharge from master bathtub.

The price was a little more than what we expected, but after speaking with Mike we came to an amount that we both agreed on. They both were very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future.

+ -1 moreWe just purchased this house 2 weeks ago and it had been sitting vacant for over 2 years. The water was on but acting very sluggish in some areas, not at all in other areas. The house is 5,200 SF and has 5 full bathrooms. Carlos escorted me from bathroom to bathroom as I showed him the issues. When we got to the third bathroom, he turned on the tub and within a minute something shot out of the faucet. He immediately put his hands into the filthy water and fished out a handful of silica gel (I believe that's what it was -- it was something small and crystal-like). From that moment, he immediately knew what the problem was. It ends up the water softener had broken down and leaked into the plumbing system. He spent some time on the phone with his boss discussing the problem and pricing and ended up quoting me $900 to flush the entire house and change out all of the cartridges in the bathrooms. They disconnected the water softener and left it off of the system (we'll replace that later). He estimated the job would take 5-6 hours. He came the following day (Saturday) to do some other random plumbing jobs for us and finally got to the system flushing in the mid afternoon. After the fact, the owner said that this was the worst case he'd ever seen. There was one area of the master bathroom that wouldn't clear with the compressor they had. They ended up calling in a friend who had the ability to blow out the clog with a higher pressure machine. They were uncertain if they were going to be able to clear it at first and said the other option would be to reroute the plumbing in the bathroom. I'm happy to say they got it cleared and no replumbing was necessary. When we returned to the house at 9pm, both Carlos and the owner, Mark, were on site. They finally got the system cleared and were cleaning up. The job was much bigger than they had expected but Mark stuck to the $900 original quote. I know some other reviews talked about Carlos' language abilities. He certainly isn't eloquent when speaking English, but I didn't have any problems understanding him. He was also quick to pass the phone to me so I could speak directly with Mark for clarity, explanations and pricing.
Description of Work: Complete flush of entire plumbing system of 5,200SF house. Water softener had leaked into the system and silica gel was in the clean water lines and was clogging the system.

This is a professional crew which arrived at my home on time, assessed my plumbing problem, showed me the leak, and had it repaired within a few hours. (A slab leak re-pipe from main valve ? not a minor task). Their rates are fair and reasonable, and they don?t leave a mess. This is by far the best plumber I?ve had in 20 years!

Took a look at the problem and gave me an estimate...left to get the materials needed and came back with in a 1.5 hours. They finished the work with in 45mins and the shower/ Tub faucet was good to go!
Description of Work: The shower/ tub faucet was leaking a lot, they access the situation and explained that the cooper piping was to short and it was hitting the faucet cover inside causing the water to shoot out the back. They added to the cooper piping to extend it to the proper length and replaced the Faucet cover with a new one. The problem was solved.

+ -1 moreThe reason that I chose this company is that they had a gold star for service and all of their ratings were great but I cannot believe this turned into the disaster that it did. All of that money they were trying to charge me was with a 5% off discount & a senior citizen discount. In the end we are disappointed and my mother is disappointed because she really believes the best work will come from Angie's List companies.
Description of Work: My mother needed her shower fixed so I called them and the man said they would be out at a reasonable time. They called us and said they were not going to make it out at the designated time because they job they were out had a water line break. He did call when the job was finishing to tell us he had sent guys over to attend to our problem. The owner's son showed up with another worker and they were presentable. My mother also wanted them to run another hose line run. I found it difficult to understand Carlos when he spoke. His English was broken and it was very difficult to understand anything he said. I kept asking them what they thought and they wouldn't say much to respond. I told them that there was a faucet on the other side of the house and asked if they could run a line to connect them. When I showed Carlos the entrance he refused to go beneath because he said there may have been snakes or scorpions. It is a sealed foundation so I didn't understand the threat. I asked how much it was going to cost to do the original repair and they said $80 to fix the shower for parts and labor. Then he decided that it would be better to skip going under the house to connect the existing plumbing, but rather than cut a hole in the inside wall and connect to the shower. I didn't think my mother would want them cutting into her walls but when they called the owner he said that he would not take care of the drywall and he said that would be our responsibility. They said for both things to be done it would be $450. I didn't think my mother wanted to spend that much. When I asked how long it would take for the bathroom only and he said 20 minutes. I asked about the price for parts and labor and they kept saying "I don't know". Then they said it would be on my dollar for them to drive around town to find the parts. I told my mother that I did not advise her to have them start cutting into the wall. Then they told me that it was going to cost more if they had to go under the house. I told them the owner should have come to look at the job before sending their guys out. I never received a written estimate or any type of bid or an official business card! I don't even believe there was a company name on the side of their truck. In the end when the son asked if I wanted the work done I said "I don't think so" and that if his dad wanted to give me a call so we could talk about this he could do so. I have never heard anything from the company.

+ 0 moreVery responsive. Called Saturday afternoon, and they were at the house in less than 2 hours. A few hours later all was done. Checked water heater, and said I would need to replace. Quoted $750 for heater and installation. Not knowing is this was a good price or not, we approved it. He also installed a kitchen faucet for us, and even lowered this price for us, since we did the water heater ($85 to $50). Only problem we had was that when they removed the old heater, they pulled trim, sheetrock and paint off, so now this needs to be fixed. (there was no real concern here, just telling us we could easily fix this with some paint). Overall, we did like them.

+ -1 moreI called on Thursday late day for a Friday appointment. The dishwasher was not draining and we suspected the air gap was at fault. Mark set up an appointment for 11am the next day. The crew was about an hour late, but they did call and let us know. When they arrived, Carlos at first did not realize that we had an unusual air gap installed. After studying the situation, he said he would have to go find the part. An estimate of labor costs was given. It took another hour for Carlos to return with the part, but then he installed it quickly and tested the hoses. He was very concerned that we be happy with the result.
Description of Work: Replaced air gap. They had to drive clear across the Las Vegas valley to find the correct part. Also replaced a flapper in a toilet.

The plumber came the next day exactly on time and after discussing the various ways to install the line, advised of the estimate and did the work within an hour. + -1 moreI heard a noise in my den of the water thumping through the line, instead of just a continuous flow, so I call MC Plumbing. I described the sound to Mark and he said it sounded like the PRV as well. They originally said they would be out about 1PM, but called and said they were running late and asked if that was OK? I said ti was fine and we decided on a different time. Carlos showed up about 40 minutes prior to the new designated time and was quick and professional about his duties.
Description of Work: Carlos came and verified it was the PRV ( Pressure release Valve ). Once verified it was that part Carlos had the part and had it changed out in 15 minutes. Very Clean and efficient.
