We take care of a 92 year old woman. She has somebody get her ready in the mornings and sends her off to adult day care. I woke up to a note that her toilet was clogged and she may have dropped something in it. Needless to say, I was not very happy. My husband had to get to an appointment so I called MC Plumbing around 11:30 today to see if they could send help. Edward showed up, took care of business and was done by 1 pm. He informed me that if he cleared it, it would be $100 w/ our coupon. I gave him the green light. He was very informative and professional. We will not hesitate to call MC Plumbing for future needs.

I had a sink that was that was full and backed up in one of my condominiums. When I called MC Plumbing, their receptionist Shay answered. I explained the situation and she asked what she could do to make my day better. She said they could have someone out in 45 minutes. Dominic, the plumber, was there within 46 minutes. He found the condo, which normally isn't very easy, and he introduced himself with a smile. Dominic came in and said he could fix it and not to worry. He retrieved a large snake to unclog the drain and offered to get us new plumbing connections after noticing ours were old. He was there for about a hour and 30 minutes. He cleaned up as he went, was very nice, and got the job done. He told me to call the Shay to set up the payment processing and charged $130.00 total, but provided a 15% discount for being an Angie's List member. With the discount, the total ended up being less than expected. I was ecstatic. Dominic was there on time, very polite, and also provided a 30-day guarantee. He even stayed about 15 minutes afterwards to verify the water was flowing properly. They really helped me during this rough time in my life after recently losing my husband and they were the perfect service people.

I called MC Plumbing fairly early on a Sunday morning. A house that we are in the process of selling had a leak under the bathroom sink and I could not turn the water off. Even with my limited plumbing knowledge I knew the angle stop was shot. Edward, from MC, was out within half an hour. He performed the needed repair quickly and professionally. I will use MC again and do not hesitate to recommend them.

I had a brand new stove delivered from Home Depot this morning. Upon trying to slide it in, I realized that the indent in the back of the stove to accommodate the gas pipe was on the bottom closer to the wall. As a result our brand new oven stuck out of the designated space and we had a huge gap between the wall and the range. We called MC Plumbing at 1:40 PM and we had a technician at our door and done with the job by 3:15 pm the same day! Thoroughly impressed with Scotty. He was knowledgeable, courteous, punctual, and pleasant to work with. He was very quick, resourceful, and clean. I was originally quoted $250 over the phone but once the job was reviewed they explained the extra work and the cost would be $315 which was fine. Upon check out we got a 15% discount for mentioning Angies List which brought our total down to $267. Very happy with our experience and we will call Scotty @ MC should we need Plumbing Services in the future.

I contacted MC Plumbing after I discovered a leak coming up through the ground outside of my house. I called them at approximately 2:30pm on Tues and asked if someone could come over Wed morning to do the repair. Without hesitation I was told someone would be at my home between 8am and 10am. I asked if they could come at 8am due to some commitments I had later that morning, I was told yes. Wed morning at 8am sharp Saul Jimenez arrived ready to work. I showed him the area where the leak was and he intently listened as I described the history of the plumbing in that area. He then explored the leak and provided me with 2 options; the price of each option, and the pros and cons. I really appreciated his approach to the problem and willingness to listen and explain the options to me. Once we decided on a course of action he departed to obtain some additional parts required for the fix. He was back within 30 minutes and went to work. The entire time he worked Saul showed me what he was doing and explained the process. Saul has been a plumber for 16 years and really understands the business and is especially adept at explaining it to the customer. By approximately 9:30am Saul had completed the repair. In summary, it was a very positive conclusion to a potentially difficult problem. The ability of MC Plumbing to dispatch a technician when I needed one saved the day. Saul was a true professional with an easy manner and abundant knowledge about plumbing. Big thanks to MC Plumbing for a job well done!

!The first plumber named Ricardo installed our brand new water heater; however, he took 4.5 hours and didn't do a great job installing it since he made dents and didn't solder the pipe for the circulating pump correctly therefore he had to remove it again. He promise to come back at 5 pm that day to install the circulating pump but he texted me that he wasn't able to show up since he was too busy at work which was fine since I understand that tends to happen. We rescheduled our next appointment for Thursday at 5 pm and he didn't bother to reply to my text messages or call me that he wasn't going to show up again. I had to reschedule my permit water heater inspection for the following week after I already scheduled it for Friday since the circulating pump needed to be installed correctly. We waited until Saturday and he still hadn't replied at all so we called MC Plumbing to help us fix the issue. At first, I was planning on giving Ricardo a really bad review for what happened; however, the receptionist at MC Plumbing was really helpful and sent another plumber named Edward to clean up Ricardo's work and install the circulating pump to the water heater. I can't thank Edward enough for the work he did since he went above and beyond to set-up the circulating pump perfectly and was able to finish the work within an hour. I highly recommend asking for Edward next time anyone has any plumbing issues. Thanks again for everything Edward!

Called out several companies for an estimate. The tech that came out from M. C. was very courteous and professional. I told him about my concern for high water pressure running through the house. He checked the pressure and indeed was way to high, +100psi. He gave me the cleanest and most correct option to install the PRV. The water main going into the house came up out the concrete and stayed exposed for about 1.5 feet to 2 feet, it wasn't very appealing. Other companies suggested placing it over the surface of the wall exposed and unappealing, while another wanted to place it in the ground in an irrigation box. M. C.'s suggestion is very much what I was hoping for, I didn't even have to suggest it. They installed an access cover to hide the plumbing yet provide access to service/replace the PRV and accessible ball valve to turn of the water for the entire house without having to go to the meter. The day of install came and they arrived within the time frame that was given to me. They got right to work set up everything and then when they were going to install the PRV noticed that they were given the incorrect part. So he let me know that they were going to get the correct part. He could of just installed the one they had but didn't. That part would have made it more difficult to change out the PRV in the future. Instead they went and picked up the PRV valve that can be changed by just about anyone by turning a couple of wrenches. They installed the PRV, tested that there weren't any leaks in the area where they worked.
Description of Work: Install Access Cover in Wall, new Ball Valve and a new Pressure Reducing Valve. Nothing was in place before, so everything was new. The price was after the discount.

I would like to start by first saying that I am an absolute Angie's List disciple and have exclusively used the list to find virtually every type of contractor or service that I have utilized on my home for many years now and have never once had to write a bad review at anytime for any reason. Unfortunately, as much as it pains me, that all changes today..... After all, I have always greatly depended on other member's reviews in making my decisions, and it would be disingenuous to not share my experience so other members might make those same informed choices. For some quick background, we are in the process of remodeling our upstairs guest bathroom, and since MC Plumbing did a fantastic job for us last year on our downstairs bathroom project, we decided to go ahead and bring them back to do the shower rough in and fixtures for this tub surround project as well. It was Thursday and we had big plans to get the rough in done so we could get the cement board up and start tiling over the weekend. Thursday, August 27th, the day of infamy begins..... Appointment Time - We were supposed to be the first appointment of the day so we were up and ready early, but MC didn't show up until just past 11 AM. Although it somewhat aggravated my wife and teenage daughters, it was not a huge deal for me since I was working from home for the day. In hindsight, perhaps I should have taken this as a potential warning sign. The Scope of the Work - When they arrived I gave them a spec sheet for the fixture, the installation manual for the fixture, and the rough in kit for that fixture. At that time, I also let them know that the actual fixture had not arrived yet and they seemed fine with that. I had already pulled the old tub out and the new tub was down by the front door, unboxed, when they arrived. Although they originally came just to do the shower fixture rough in, they said they could also drop in the new tub for around $250, which sounded great to me. Let's rock! What could possibly go wrong? Professionalism - I will readily admit that I genuinely liked these guys, They were friendly, courteous, cordial, and very professional so I have absolutely no complaints in those regards. I am more than willing to give credit, where credit is due. At no time, through the entire day, were they anything but true professionals. The Work - After an hour or so they came down and said they had to go to the supply store for something related to the tub drain. Fairly soon after they returned, they asked me if I had the actual fixture because the rough in package was missing a diverter valve, which he stated is becoming a common thing to not be included anymore. (I suppose that meant that at one time rough in kits included those). I told them again, as I did when they first came, that it had not arrived yet so he said okay and went back upstairs. This point is going to be very important later. They then came back down later asking if I had any 1/2 inch terminator screw plugs so they could terminate the shower pipe and turn my water back on. I didn't have a terminator, but between a couple of PVC connectors I had, and a couple they had, they was able to "jimmy-rig" a termination connector and turn the water back on. Job Completed - They finished up the job and said for X amount they would come back later and do the actual fixtures once the tile work was completed. Things seemed fine, they were very professional, I paid them, tipped them both a 20 spot and they were on their way. Man the Lifeboats - About an hour after the guys left my daughter started screaming from upstairs that water was going everywhere. I ran upstairs to see that the "jimmy-rigged" plug on the shower head pipe had failed and water was spraying in every direction. I ran back downstairs and turned the water off to the house. I found a compression stop valve in my plumbing supplies and screwed that on to the end of the shower pipe and it worked like a charm. Strange Brew - About an hour or so after the flood incident, my wife noticed that the kitchen water was only lukewarm and asked if the plumbers did something with the hot water tank. I said they didn't even go out there, plus I couldn't imagine how a rough in job could have any impact on the hot water. I went around and checked other faucets and that's where it really gets strange -- some are hot, some are cold -- very strange mix. I just had a new Rudd hot water tank put it a few months ago so I thought that this must be some kind of really odd coincidence. I told the wife if it didn't get better by the next morning I would call the water heater guys to take a look at it. Should I Stay or Should I Go - That night my wife and daughters were absolutely livid because their shower water would go hot then cold then lukewarm over and over for the entire shower. It didn't bother me that bad, but anyone out there with a wife and two teenage high school daughters would fully understand that I was not a very popular Dad at this point. Again, I just couldn't see how a rough in valve could have caused this so I called my water heater guys in the morning when it wasn't better and they sent someone out by late Friday afternoon. They said the water was heating fine and so we turned up the temperature slightly. All they could come up with was that maybe the tank had just shut down while the water was off for so long the day before. They reset the tank and advised me to call them on Monday if it was still doing the same thing. By the time the wife and daughters went through another night of wacky showers, I seriously was considering fleeing to the hills for my personal safety. Friends to the Rescue - Realizing that I would essentially be playing "Russian Roulette" if a made the Fam go through these cold showers all weekend I called a dear friend of mine that also happens to be quite knowledgeable in the plumbing department and he knew immediately what the problem was and informed me that the plumbers had not put a diverter valve in when they did the rough in. Without it, the hot and cold basically flows back and forth in the plumbing system, which is what was causing that wacky hot and cold sequence while taking a shower. Can we get a Little Customer Service - Armed with the solution, I could finally take off my camouflaged fatigues, bullet proof vest, and stop belly crawling from room to room trying to avoid the three lovely ladies of the household. First thing Saturday morning I called MC Plumbing and explained to the owner about the diverter valve and he knew right away that would cause the exact problem I was experiencing. He then informed me that he would have the individual that did the work call me right away. Unfortunately, it was several hours before I received a call and he actually said, "Don't you remember when I asked you for the diverter valve?" Of which, I replied, "yes, but I guess I missed the part about having to take cold showers until you come back when the shower is done to install the fixture." Instead of offering to remedy the situation either on Saturday or Monday himself, he told me to go to Ferguson's Supply to buy the part and put it in myself. Needless to say I was not happy in the least bit. When I called Ferguson's after our pleasant conversation, I found out why the guy waited so long to call me back. Ferguson's just happened to close at almost the exact time he called me back. He basically ensured himself that he wouldn't have to come out to take care of it on Saturday because there was nowhere else to get the part by then. The Fun Continues - Obviously, there was nothing I could do about fixing my water issue until Monday morning so I went ahead and hung all of the shower walls and then noticed something very odd about the closeness of the shower faucet and the control handle face plate. I Put the actual pieces over the holes and discovered that there was maybe a half inch clearance between both of them, which obviously couldn't be right. I then pulled the spec sheet out that I had provided MC and discovered that there is supposed to be a minimum of 8 inches from the center of the control knob to the top of the faucet. Obviously, they didn't want to move the rough in up from the old spot so I ended up with 5 inches, which basically puts the control face plate almost right on top of the faucet. Where do we go from here - The first step was to schedule Bargain Plumbing to come in tomorrow morning and fix all of MC Plumbing's screw ups. They are also very highly rated on Angie's. Of course, that meant that I had to rip the cement board off the wall to redo the rough in, which absolutely stinks. They also never did a flood test to test their drain on the new tub, and considering that they had significant issues with everything else they did, I decided to rip the protective masking off the new tub so we can run a flood test after the new rough in has been done. My Recourse - MC has already cashed my check so the only real recourse I have is to share this honest review with other members. I certainly would never consider letting these guys touch my pipes again so having them back out is simply not an option. I just find it hard to believe that the owner, who knew full well of the issues I was having, never bothered to follow up with a repeat Angie's List customer. For this reason, I am not naming the names of the actual plumbers that were here. The responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of Scott, the owner. I would strongly urge all Angie's member's to avoid MC Plumbing like the plague. It is one thing to do bad work, but to leave a loyal customer high and dry like MC Plumbing did is absolutely inexcusable. Shame, shame, shame......

First of all let me apologize that you had a bad experience. We always try to do our very best to provide all the information needed to the homeowner when they try to buy there own parts in this case I feel we failed to do so. I personally spoke to you the Saturday after we did the work and offered to send the on call plumber out there but you insisted I have the original plumber contact you on his day off which he did. At that point I was told you needed to wait for a part that you already had ordered and the problem was solved. For you to bash us on here and not reaching out to voice your concern to us directly is plain rude after reading the review I tried again to contact you to make it right before replying to this. We send out professional plumbers who told you from the start you did not purchase all the proper parts needed and you trying to save a dollar didn't want to pay anymore. As far as having another company come out and redo the work is not on us we would have gladly sent out someone or refunded the money or done what we have done for years to make it right but not given the chance to correct any mistakes or misunderstandings and to have a very lengthy misguided review is premature to say we did nothing. We wasn't given a chance to correct any wrong doing.

Scott Jr. showed up on time and was very personable - a great guy. The water line and shut off valve was replaced with no problem. When it came to replacing the float device inside the water closet it was a different story. He apparently did not have one in his truck because he had to leave, and I'm assuming he had to go back to the shop for additional supplies. He returned and proceeded to finish the job. I paid him and said good by thinking everything was okay. Later that evening I awoke at 3:00AM hearing a strange noise. I discovered that the sound was running water in the toilet. I lifted the lid on the water closet and discovered the float device was stuck open, so the water must have been running since my wife had last used the toilet. I shut off the intake valve to deal with the issue the next morning. I went back to revisit the toilet to find that Scott had installed what looked like the cheapest plastic handle and plastic lift arm inside the water closet tank - WOW! To make matters worse he had installed the wrong type of lift arm devise. Our toilet tank is not a rectangle but rather has sides that are at 30 degree angles as you get to the front of the tank. The lift arm that Scott installed was rubbing against the front wall of the tank with so much pressure that the arm was not able to drop back down after flushing - hence the constant water flow. In addition he replaced our metal flush handle with this new cheap looking plastic handle. Later that morning I went to Home Depot and bought a new metal lift arm device and a new high quality flush handle, and installed them myself with no problem. I would not recommend the company due to their interest in relating to the cheapest quality products available and lack of proper installation knowledge. I'm not a plumber but I did a better job than Scott Jr. did.

He showed up on time but he showed up in an unmarked van and his business card didn?t even have his name on it. I was very unimpressed and told him I was uncomfortable with him there.

YOU BE THE JUDGE I have graded this company as bad, but maybe my grading was to harsh, so you be the judge. I spoke with one of the owners and provided him with the specifics of installing a water softener, he quoted me a price of $270.00 minus Angies discount however plus parts. I specifically asked how much in parts he said around $50.00 the owner later claims he doesn't quote parts prices over the phone. On the day of the install the plumber Dan Riley arrives my son shows him where the water loop is located however my son calls me and says it was going to cost $435.00 Riley explains to me via cellular that the parts are going to cost me $160. I said for two flex hoses and some pipe fittings. If the parts are $160 then why am I paying the $270 (I have a copy of my invoice). Riley said the $270 is for an even swap of water softener. Since he was already there I relentlessly authorized the job. Riley returns back I asked to see the receipt, which was from Lowe's he had spent on a gift card $61.66 in parts. I again asked well since parts were only $61.66 shouldn't I have to pay that amount instead of the $160.00. Riley then says no .....because everybody charges extra for parts and there time it takes to pickup the parts, keep in mind that Lowes is about 4 blocks from the installation location. I felt that I was being taken advantage under first the regarding the price and then the parts. Then when I left the install site Riley decides he is going to bad mouth me in front of my son. I personally would never again use this company...bad experience SO YOU BE THE JUDGE

I got a call about 12:20 PM from the gentleman asking if he had to bring the toilet, and I said "Yes". He arrived soon after and got to work. It took him about 30 minutes to replace the toilet. He did a good job and worked the whole time he was in my home. He gave me the written instructions for the toilet, and took the old toilet with him for disposal. I called the office to make the appointment, and the gentleman who asked the phone answered all my questions. He was not impatient with my questions and I appreciate that. I would call this company in the future for plumbing needs.

While cleaning my toilet I heard a pop. I took out the brush and the top of the brush had snapped off and was stuck in the toilet. I went to Lowe's and bought a plunger, snake and a new toilet brush, then tried to get the broken piece out. Lesson 1. Don't try to fix something that you can make worse. I needed a plumber, but June is a bad month for me financially. I used the guest bath, which was acting sluggish as well. That made me nervous, so I searched Angie's List. This is when the miracles started happening! I called Bargain Plumbing (I'm leaving a review on their site as well), who made my nerves worse. He couldn't get to me until Friday and also feared the worse. I wouldn't let him hang up until he gave me the name of another plumber he could recommend. He finally said MC Plumbing, calling them his closest competitor in ratings (they're both A rated). That's Miracle 2. Who in this world today recommends his closest competitor?! I was thrilled, and said I would remember him in the future. He had expressed his sorrow that he had to turn a client away but couldn't in good conscience let me risk a major expense if the brush tip was starting to travel deeper into the sewer pipe. I contacted MC Plumbing late afternoon on Wednesday. They could get someone to my house around 9am the next morning. Lesson 2. There are still good, honest and caring people out there. I honestly was thinking there weren't any left! Miracle 3 is the young man they sent to my rescue, Ricardo. Polite, hard-working, knowledgeable and respectful. He tried everything he could to avoid lifting the heavy over-sized toilet but the bristles on the brush tip and my clumsy attempts to dislodge it had it stuck. He didn't want it to go any further into the pipes. He finally got it unscrewed (very close quarters in the lavatory space because of the toilet's design) and could quickly suck the piece out the other end. He put up with my elderly dog who thought Ricardo needed supervision, and my nervousness. He even replaced the metal water line that had been installed which was too long and twisted. Miracle 4 was the price. Using Angie's List 15% off coupon, I paid $132! I had had visions of drilling through the concrete slab, scaling the sewer line, and seeing very large $$$$! I know it wasn't the easy fix Ricardo had envisioned, but it was much easier than what I feared! This was my first time using any of Angie's coupons and it virtually paid for the year's membership. Great experience all the way around.

I own a home in Mountain's Edge and I have a tenant renting it. My tenant contacted me very early on a Saturday morning. She complained about a whistling sound coming from the Master Bedroom toilet upstairs. I contacted MC Plumbing and they sent someone out same day. Their responsiveness was amazing. They were also very professional both on the phone and in person. Thank you! I will contact them again in the future.

Water was not flowing from refrigerator water dispenser, but leaking from back of refrigerator. We pulled out the fridge to check the line for blockage, and when we went to shut off water valve, it snapped off - water leaking everywhere. Had to shut off main water source at street. Husband ran to Lowe's to find a new valve, but only complete Valve Box unit was available. He bought it, but this was not something we wanted to do ourselves. All this happened around 5pm. Gotta call a plumber. Found MC Plumbing on Angie's List. Called and reached them right away - explained our dilemma - provided our address. They said they would have Technician call us shortly. 25 minutes later - door bell rang and Scoti (the Tech) was there. No call, but we were glad to see him! Scoti proceeded to do his thing - cut out a bit of drywall, replaced entire valve box and voila - our leak from the valve was fixed. Unfortunately, the water line for the ice maker was rotted and severed and it's a GE part that's a special size, so not something that MC Plumbing could fix at the time. Our experience with MC Plumbing was EXCELLENT (Scoti was extremely professional and knowledgeable) and we would definitely use them again.

This was an emergency and they acted fast and efficiently. They knew what they were doing and they were very nice and professional. I would completely recommend them to other people as well as use them again. The price for the job was very reasonable. Even the person that helped me on the phone was fantastic and well informed. It made a stressful situation turn into a relief. Tomiko
