Initially, he told me what a great job he’d do. After the bid was complete, he asked me for more material money because he said he was out. He’s not willing to provide me a receipt for the materials, and after looking to see how much the materials are, I think the charges for materials seem too high. He became defensive when I asked him for the receipts, which is unprofessional. My HOA became upset since they kept leaving concrete and supplies out on the street. He was supposed to have all of the work done by September 9th. I gave him the money on the 9th of August. He was supposed to work on this yesterday, but he never showed up, which happens all the time and he won’t call beforehand. Sometimes he doesn’t even show up, and when I asked him what happened, he told me he had other jobs to do. Sometimes, his crew partied too much the night before, so they never showed up for the job. I’ve had a few of my friends that do concrete work take a look at the work that he’s done, and they told me it’s the worst job they’ve ever seen. I’ve already paid him $2350 for this work, and he tells me that I still owe him $700. When I bring up my concerns, he just tells me that I get what I paid for. He told my other contractor that I was cheap. I would like $1000 back for the materials, since I don't have any of the materials.
