Description of Work: David and DC paint were very professional and did a great job. I have no complaints. They painted the exterior of my 3000 sq-ft home. DC was very efficient. Most of work was done on day 1. Day 2 was a couple hours of touch up. It rained after my first power wash...DC did another power wash at no additional cost. Price included stucco repair and caulking. DC price was about $200 less than 2 other bids. I recommend DC paint with no hesitation.

The estimate from DC was comparable to the first company, but DC's paint job included many quality extra steps that the other company did not. DC power washed the house, caulked any cracks in the stucco, and additionally caulked around each window and door. David, the owner, was at the jobsite almost all the time during the two day process, and was available to answer any questions. David was also very helpful when it came to finalizing my color choice. The house looks beautiful! The whole crew did a great job. David was a pleasure to deal with, and I would use the company again.

 + -1 moreWe got three bids to paint the exterior of our 3907sq ft house and DC painting easily won! David was on time and very informative, he emailed us a very detailed two page bid detailing exactly what he would do. He also included a cover letter about his company and copies of his license and insurance. We selected elastomeric paint which requires more extensive work ( primer and two coats of paint applied 24hrs apart) and David still had our job done in only five days! They arrived at 7am and worked until 6pm, at the end of everday they cleaned around the house. David also had the challenge of dealing with a grumpy neighbor and our HOA which he did with unflappable ease. We will definitely use DC painting in the future they did an awesome job from start to finish!

 + -1 moreAs part of our new home renovation, we obtained about five estimates for our complete interior repaint. Prices varied widely. We chose DC painting because: a) their estimate was reasonable and b) they agreed to use the brand of paint that we prefer. Other paint companies were not receptive to using our preferred brand of paint. So choosing DC Painting was easy. Once scheduled the crew came to the house and prepped all surfaces, painted baseboards, door trim and doors. On day 2, the crew spray painted all walls and ceilings, and completed touch up. It took a few hours longer from the original estimated schedule to finish the touch up but we are quite pleased with the end result. And we plan to hire them again for the next paint project.
Description of Work: We had an entire interior repaint of our newly purchased home.

 + 0 moreDavid, the owner, came on the day we called, walked the property, and told us what he would like to do. We had a detailed estimate that evening by e-mail. We wanted a specific type of exterior paint, and he provided two estimates, one with the specific paint, and one with a cheaper paint. He was not the lowest estimate we received, but he was going to provide us with a much more detailed and thorough job, and use a higher grade of paint. He was the only contractor to provide such a detailed estimate. Although we were rained out on our start date (for a week!), David kept in contact with us by e-mail. He and his crew were able to start sooner than expected, and the results are terrific! David was here every day he had his crew here. He and his crew were very nice, patient, and left the property clean and looking great. We love the job they did, and when it comes time to have the interior painted, we will be contacting David again!
Description of Work: 22 year old tract home - powerwashing; stucco repair on the house and surrounding walls; exterior paint including all doors and garage door; replaced weatherstripping around doors and garage door; all wood trim prepared and painted; caulked before painting at all places on the exterior that gave egress into the house ( i.e., around all fixtures, doors, seams)

 + -1 more1. David came out quickly to give me an estimate to do the job and gave me a fair price. 2. He also came out to do the work when he said he was going to. 3. David also did a great job when it was all said and done in a timely manner. To be honest, I couldn't ask anymore from a contractor like David. It's sounds simple because the experience was just that--simple. I am pretty critical and pretty hard to please so when a professional contractor can do all those 3 three things effectively that I mentioned above, there is no need to get into it anymore than that. You know what's great too? I do not need to look for a paint contractor anymore because David is my "go to" guy.
Description of Work: Scope of work included painting a 3' hgt. propertywall in the front yard and some touch up work around the side gate and weep screed on the side of the house.

Was on a tight time constraint, David came in on Monday to look over the house and give me an estimate. Crew came in on Thursday and Friday to do the work. Completely satisfied with work and price. Will have them back to paint the exterior later this year.

 + 0 moreOwner David came to my house to see the job and we discussed in detail what needed to be done s we walked around the fence. He submitted his bid that evening by e-mail. The price was well within range of other estimates I received and about what I would have expected. His proposal specified the tasks to be done and the materials to be used. It also included copies of his contractor's license and his liability insurance and a statement as to how long the job would take (two days). When I decided to accept his bid, I called him and we set up a time one week later to start. He called the night before to verify that he was coming the next morning, but during the night we had a downpour and he called in the morning to say we should postpone one day, which seemed reasonable. He showed up right on time the next day and, with the assistance of one other worker, completed the job right on target. To my unprofessional eye, the workmanship looks fine. David was very accommodating: I had forgotten in the initial walkthrough to point out that I wanted some wire trellises removed from the wall and the holes holding them up patched. When I asked about that, he assured me that there would be no problem doing that. In addition, he did me another favor by taking away a couple of buckets of old dried up paint that had been around for too long. Overall, I would give David a solid A rating for total professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Description of Work: Repaired stucco and completely re-painted stucco block wall fence.

 + 1 moreGreat job; very meticulous-even hand-scraped under the roof gable where the pigeons used to hide. Always professional, thorough, and on time. Did a couple of extra things without a problem. Original quote was $2200 ( $900 below next higher bid). Extras cost $200 and we tipped an extra $200 since they spent about 1/2 a day cleaning up the yard. The house looks fantastic. Two friends are already interested in using David & Co. They exceeded our expectations.
Description of Work: Job was painting a 2000 sq. ft single story stucco house with metal security doors and RV gates in Spring Valley area. . House had not been painted in over 17 years. Extra work included 3 wooden chairs and block wall behind rose bushes.

 + 1 moreThis job was extensive as we have a two story house. The work was completed before schedule and the job was done to our complete satisfaction. This company paid great attention to the details of the job. They correctly matched all the paint colors. All the work was done very well and we were very pleased with the results. We feel that we received excellent value for the money spent. It was an altogether positive experience with this company. There was one small area that my husband did not think looked right. He asked that the workman repaint it. The painter hesitated and explained to my husband why he thought it would be fine when the paint dried. Since my husband was unsure the painter just repainted the area anyway. Our house looks wonderful. I would suggest that they make sure that they leave one door uncovered during the work. I had to ask that one area be uncovered for me. They did it immediately and did not complain, but it might save them some work to make sure one exit/entrance is left uncovered. I truly hope that many others will use this painting company. Good workman are hard to find, and I want to make sure they are still in the neighborhood the next time we need something done at our house!
Description of Work: David came to our house to do an estimate. We had called and he quickly arrived at the appointed time. His estimate was professional and courteous. He knew that we had gotten estimates from other companies, all of which were competitive. We chose DC Painting due to the detailed description of the work, materials being used, and the details of the preparations such as moving rocks from around the wall, caulking, covering windows and so on. When we notified DC that they had been selected, a work schedule suited to our needs was quickly arranged. They arrived at the appointed time to begin preparation work which was extensive; and carefully completed as promised. The rest of the work was started. The Stucco was repaired, the edges caulked, the exterior walls painted, the trim and window out-facings painted, and all windows were also caulked. They even did a couple of things outside to help with our pigeon problem. That was very much appreciated as it required getting up on our high roof (our house is two-story). The workman removed all excess materials and left the work area very clean when the job was finished.

 + 1 moreDavid is excellent at everything he & his crew do, including his initial response time, honoring appointments, & all of the little things as explained above. It makes it a pleasure & honor to business with him. He does all of the things that really need to be done in order for it all to be done right, look great, & last long. He doesn't charge anything more than he should to make a living for him & his crew. We're so thankful to him & to Angie's list, & the paint shop that also highly recommended David. I've described everything above. I just want to add, the primer was so amazing that it looked like the house had been painted after it was applied. The job David did patching cracks & painting over them was outstanding. Some are completely not noticeable now, the really huge cracks are almost not noticeable, even though the previous owner had done a horrible job of applying things that make it very difficult to compensate for. David did a great, great job of doing just that, compensating. The result is really nice. As you can imagine from my review, we highly recommend David.
Description of Work: We had to power-wash, prep, prime, & paint the exterior of our house. David & his crew prepared everything very well & the Elastomeric, or whatever it's called, primer was incredible. It thickly covers everything. He used stucco or Elastomeric to cover cracks, taped exactly so the primer & paint all went where it was supposed to, covered everything around the house to keep everything clean, applied horizontal & vertical spraying of paint at the right speed & volume, cleaned up everything, & even reattached our new lighting fixtures in a way that no electrician would be able to do. David had a job Tues-Thurs., so he came Monday (I'd called him I think around the middle of the previous week) & did all of the power-washing & calking. He was done in about 7 hours. Btw, David gave the best explanation of the different calking procedures necessary. He showed me where water comes out of holes in the side of the roof & drips on the fascia boards, & how not calking everything had warped & stripped paint from them, & how calking it right this time would result in a great look to our house, as well as lasting, great-looking wood trim all around that blends in with the surrounding paint (he sanded & did all of the work on the trim necessary, but I don't remember exactly what it was, e.g., prime, paint, etc.). David gave us the most & best information about how to really do a completely great paint job. We couldn't be happier with him, his & his crew's work, & the very fair price he charges for the best work. He finished the entire paint job in only a day-&-a-half on Friday & Saturday! Everything was left cleaner than when he'd arrived. And, even though the light fixtures we bought didn't fit against the wall nicely, David personally braced them with cardboard in the back, calked around the back to attach it to the wall, & applied that great paint all around. It looks gorgeous! It's much nicer than how the fixtures were attached before, separated from the wall.

Description of Work: David's team did a fantastic job painting the entire inside of our house. We moved out on Monday and he started the painting a couple of days later and completed it so well that our real estate agent decided to list the house several days earlier than we had planned! David also repaired some stucco under the door sills, added some trim around a door in the garage and dismantled a pony wall and refinished the area. His estimate was several hundred dollars less than the estimates we received from other painters. I would highly recommend DC Painting to anyone!

 + 0 moreDavid and his crew did an outstanding job painting our entire home, interior and exterior. He promptly responded to my initial requests seeking estimates for both interior and exterior painting. His estimate was very competitive with all of the other estimates we got, but it also was a very detailed written estimate. He listed out everything he and his crew would do and the materials they would use. This was in stark contrast to every other estimate I got. With all others, I was lucky to get a price written down, let alone a written description of all that would be done. His crew was very attentive to details. Each day we would walk through. The job took seven days and we only found four things in that entire time that his team had to touch up. They were prompt and responsive, even giving us numerous paint samples for us to pick color schemes. When the accent color we chose did not turn out the way we wanted, he suggested other options and was willing to repaint those accent walls at no additional cost. Prep included cleaning all of our solar screens. For a small additional fee, they cleaned the exterior of all of our windows. His crew went above and beyond, replacing five light fixtures that we had purchased that were in high places, thus difficult to do without the ladders that come with a paint crew. I strongly recommend DC Painting and will go to them for all my painting needs in the future.
