ABC Locksmiths

After moving into my new home, I had to change locks and get new keys. Front door needed new lock/key, and I didn't have keys to doors to the garage. The service man came and rekeyed everything within one hour. He was very courteous and professional. Highly recommended!

All started off very well, I called on Monday morning and they had a Locksmith out to my house a few hours later. They called when they were on the way, which was very appreciated. When the Locksmith arrived, I noticed his truck had different signage then ABC Locksmiths. The gentleman that came out was very nice. I showed him the lock I wanted rekeyed, and after minimal inspection, he said the lock was broken and couldn't be rekeyed. Because this is an outdoor lock, he said he could put a standard padlock on the door, which I agreed was the easiest and most efficient solution. It was at this point, he started talking money. He said the service call was $75.00. The $75.00 fee was just for him to come out, and would not be applied to any repairs. He then said the cost to change the padlock was $150, making the total $225.00. Maybe I'm out of touch with pricing, but $225.00 to change a standard padlock sounds pretty ridiculous. I told the Locksmith this sounded too expensive and decided to not do the repairs at the quoted price. I had an Angie's List coupon and ended up paying $49 for about 3 minutes of his time. After the Locksmith left, I called the main office number and spoke with the woman that booked the appointment. I told her about my experience... service call price and quote. She said that they charged $75.00 because I was out of their service range... which was never told to me when I initially called. I mentioned that the company that came to do the repair wasn't even an ABC Locksmith truck and after a little prodding, the woman said ABC uses third party vendors for different service areas. If you feel that changing a standard padlcock should cost $225.00 then ABC is the company for you.

She was very professional and efficient. I was very impressed with her work.

After calling other locksmiths who said they were not able to open the safe, we connected with ABC Locksmith. They said it was no problem and could have a man out to the house the same day. We were called to inform us that Scott would be a little late, but was on his way. When Scott arrived he was courteous, and very professional. We showed him the safe and the numbers we had used in the past. Within several minutes Scott had opened the safe. He showed us exactly what we needed to do. Before he left, Scott had us demonstrate for him that we were now able to open our safe! The price was very reasonable and the job was well done. We would not hesitate to call ABC Locksmiths in the future. I learned from this experience that few locksmiths have the skill to work on safes, only locks and keys. ABC Locksmiths have the talent and the skill to do it all!

I purchased a coupon on Angie's list for a discounted service call. I was able to schedule the call within 2 days of when I called. A selected a two-hour service window and the locksmith arrived around 10 minutes late but that is my only quibble. My locks were re-keyed quickly for a very reasonable and the locksmith was extremely professional and courteous. I would definitely use them again.

After hearing of a $49 for $100 "Big Deal" on Angie's List, I called ABC Locksmiths to get a quote for how much the work would cost. There was a fee per cylinder as well as a fee to get the locksmith to the house. After doing the math, it seemed to still be in my price range, so I bought the "Big Deal", and scheduled the appointment. Upon arrival (immediately incurring the "show up fee"), the locksmith quoted me double the price per cylinder! I mentioned this discrepancy, and the locksmith said that the price depends on the area serviced, EVEN THOUGH I mentioned exactly where I lived when I received the original quote on the phone. Unfortunately, I felt as though I had no choice but to pay the extra due to the fact I already purchased the coupon and the locksmith was already sitting in my front yard. He did give me a couple bucks off for paying in cash though?

I paid $27 to Angies List for a service call for a Locksmith. The coupon said the vendor was ABC Locksmiths, but the technician who came was from Alert Lock and Key, Inc. He performed the requested services (replace faulty knobset) and charged $95 for the material, $35 for labor, $25 for cylinder combination change (even though we retained our original combination), and $8.25 tax, totalling $163.25. His invoice showed N/C $55 for the service call, which, purportedly, was covered by the $27 Angies List coupon. Overall, I don't believe that I actually saved anything by using Angies List on this occasion. In the future, if I need a locksmith, I will find one from Angies List, but get more info on the phone as to potential costs prior to hiring the vendor.

While it was more expensive than I thought it "might" be, I liked the my interactions with their employees. I felt that happy at the end of the day! My locks work great.

The installer arrived in a timely fashion and re-keyed lock as asked.

I was delighted with the prompt service and information provided by ABC Locksmiths. The developer-provided original lock on the front door wore out and would not turn or lock. I'd had good experiences with contractors from Angie's list and decided to find a locksmith on the list. To compound matters, we'd had a break-in the year before and after talking to ABC it was evident how easy it was for the burglars to get in. The original lock element should have been replaced after we bought the house because the originals are easily opened with certain master keys. No wonder the burglars got in so easily. He said he could replace them with better traditional locks or with high security locks which were definitely more expensive. But how expensive is it to have your security easily breached? It was a "no-brainer" decision. We replaced the three main door locks with High Security locks and between the new locks and our security monitoring service have felt much safer. The keys cannot be duplicated by without a special code and they don't look anything like a regular key. I would definitely use ABC for further work or recommend them.

I purchased a Big Deal for a re-key service. Very shortly after my purchase, I was contacted by the company, asking when would be a good time to schedule. They were excellent over the phone, and when they performed the service they were very friendly and professional. They did a great job.

He did very good. I had no complaints about him, he was terrific. I have a back screen door that I had to slam to close and he fixed it. It is beautiful now. All I have to do it push up and it's open, push down and it's locked. The only question I had was that I paid Angie's List $27.00 for the Big Deal but I did not have the coupon code with me when he came because I did not know I was supposed to have it. He said that was fine but then he charged me another $40.00.

ACBC charged double what other locksmiths charged... I called and made an appointment for the following day since they couldn't come out the day i called. The appt was made for the following morning for 8-10am . At 8:15 am they called not to tell me that they were running late, but that they had to reschedule for 1-3pm.!!!!!!!!! So there goes the whole day and they didn't even offer me any credit on the labor part of the service call. I had bought the 27$ coupon which basically is 22$ off the initial travel service charge. They came out and said it would be 80$ to remove the key and give me a new cylander and rekey so I could use the same key. 80$? seemed a bit high so I said that I would take a pass since I had a feeling that was too high. I was going to ask about another lock but they huffed off when I said I didn't want them to do the 80$ job. I took the lock handle, stuck key and all, and drove to my local locksmith ,Advance Lock & Key Keys & Locksmiths in Marina Del Rey. They re-keyed the new cylander and charged me only 30$!!!!!!!! They told me that if they had they come out to my house they would have charged an extra 10$ to re-install the lock for a grand total of 40$ for parts and labor. Half of what Ace wanted to charge me. They took the time to explain to me how to re-install the lock which was very nice of them. So I saved 50$ by going to my local shop ! Too bad I wasted the 27$ on the angie's list coupon. I hope my review helps others not to waste 27$ on ABC locksmiths. And not to mention the whole day :(

It went well and I am happy with the end results.

They added additional fees that were very high to the deal I purchased. They told me they would add $170 to replace my lock or $90 to re-key my lock. I found a competitor who would re-key the lock for $20.

We needed a lock changed and one installed. The locksmith was very efficient, laid out all our options and executed it flawlessly. In fact, he recommended a less expensive one that had comparable levels of quality.

For $27.00 I had an obese Russian man come to my home tell me that I needed to spend $150+ for a lock. When I said I wanted to use a lock I purchased I was told it would cost $75 to install. I called the 800 number and was told that the $27 I already spent was only for him to come to my home. Not to do any work. What kind of deal is that? Total rip off.

It was a really good experience.It was good timing for the coupon to be up on Angie's list because we had been looking for a locksmith .The guy showed up on time. The only confusion we has was that we told them when we called that we were calling based on Angie's list coupon and the guy who showed up didn't know so we had to call the home office. I liked the guys level of expertise. Everything works perfect.

Technician called prior to showing up, gave me options on the repair plus helped me to decide the best approach. Job completed within an hour. Price was very high compared to 3 years ago when I replaced the latch. He said it was due to the times and that I wanted a master system - I had a master system 3 years ago?
