Description of Work: My Jeep Grand Cherokee had the catolytic converter warning light on. I went to Catskill, afraid that it was a major repair and they discovered a lose hose. Wow. How refreshing. Honest and modestly priced.

Description of Work: They replaced a leaking oil drain plug. It was done amazingly quickly. Catskill was recommended by a friend - I highly recommend them as well. Everything you read in the favorable reviews is true.

Description of Work: Catskil helped me out with a silky inspection the dmv needed to get my vehicle registered. He told me over the phone just to bring it down in the morning. I did..he did as promised with no charge.

 + -1 moreI made an appointment, Catskill was ready for me, estimated it would be a few hours, Tom from Catskill called 2 1/2 hours later to tell me the job was done. Prior to the appointment they estimated the work would be $150.00, and when I came to pick up the Expedition, the bill was $150.00**** amazing no hidden fees. Great job!

Description of Work: Brake light on dash 2001 Silverado 4x4 Duramax - both ABS and Brake warning lights were presenting intermittently. Got the appointment in less than a week. Tom found the problem, got the part, truck repaired in 6 hours gross time. Then he allowed me to leave it with him overnight so I could get a ride to pick up the PU. He showed me the old part without me asking.

 + -1 moreCatskill went out of their way to help me. They actually inspected my exhaust valve in my car and noticed that a screw was loose and tightened it up free of charge. The price was perfect considering they only charged me for the speedometer cable installation and parts. They are quite professional and courteous and I will be using them again.

 + -1 moreIf you want an honest mechanic, someone who won't suggest or do work on your car unless it's necessary, give Tom a call. I save a lot of money over the dealer's prices on bigger jobs. If you just need an oil change or something simple you won't save big. But for that 60,000 mile tune-up or other bigger jobs you will save over the dealer.
Description of Work: Tom Hart is the owner of Catskill Auto, but I have actually followed him through his various locations, even before he was an owner. He is a fair and honest person and an excellent mechanic. I have trusted him with my cars for the last 23 years since I moved here and found him through the AAA referral system.
