I have used him for 20 years when my car falls out of warranty. When it is under warranty it goes to the dealership. It took a day to complete the work. He is honest, trustworthy, does an excellent job, and his price is very reasonable.

We have been using Catskill to service our three vehicles for about a year now. We are very happy with his service taking care of our three vehicles. Tom is a good and honest mechanic. He is in high-demand and we usually have to schedule a few days out to get in sowe try to plan ahead. He usually gets all repairs and service done in one day. I would absolutely recommend him.

Work was completed before estimated time. All work was well done. Future problems identified but vendor reported not necessary at that time. Cost of repairs was very reasonable. I previously brought the car to the dealer. I estimate that the cost of repair there would have cost 2 to 3 times as much.

I have been going to Catskill for about 20 years. Tom the owner has always been pleasant and honest. NEVER had any issues or concerns. They fix things the first time and are consistently polite, professional and knowledgeable.

Went well overall and the car was ready as promised. Tom is very accommodating and thorough.
One error was made that caused us to panic: The car stopped working in the middle of the road the next day. We puttered to a parking lot and had the car towed 12 miles back to our home. It was Saturday (7/12/2014) so Catskill was closed. I spend rest of the day trying to figure out what the problem was, ultimately deciding that the alternator was at fault. I called around for a replacement alternator, got instructions on replacing it on the internet, and lifted the hood to make sure that I can indeed replace it.
Lo and behold, the electrical connector to the alternator was missing. I searched around for it, found it, and the car started up immediately. Just be safe, I drove it around for a while with the other vehicle (and my wife) on standby in case I needed a jump start. The car has been running fine ever since.
Needless to say, it disrupted our entire day. I called Tom to let him know what happened and he apologized. He was surprised that the alternate light did not come on but will talk to the mechanic about missing the very important step of reconnecting the alternator.
I'd probably use them again but I think they've gotten sloppy with all the great reviews.

I called Tom to schedule and appointment and got in relatively quick. I had just bought a used truck and wanted to know that everything was in good shape. He flushed the radiator and checked all the major parts of the engine. He said it was a good vehicle and to get the radiator flushed again in 6 months. Tom is a great guy and a mechanic I can trust. I will be back.

I got my own high performance fuel pump and they installed it for me. They are very honest, forthright and knowledgeable. They are accommodating and keep their word. They answer all questions happily and even let me watch the servicing getting done. They show me what they are doing, how they are doing and why they are doing it as well. They are the most honest mechanic that I have ever met; they are the best. Mr. Tom Hart is the owner and between him and his mechanics they are just the best of the best.

Tom was great. I made an appointment a week in advance. I forgot to make a follow up call the day before, but he had me in his schedule and knew what to do. I had to wait in his office for this maintenance and he got me in and out in about an hour. He was great, and charged me what he quoted me. I think he did a great job!

The problem with the truck was quickly and properly diagnosed. Parts were ordered and arrived the next day, with a same day install. The honesty and respectable price were the highlight of the work performed.

I needed a cayalytic converter in order to pass smog. I'd had this confirmed by two other mechanics, both of whom quoted $1100. I brought the car to Tom because I knew that 1. he's honest and 2. He's competent. He did the job in the amount of time that he said he would, and for slightly UNDER $1100 I got the catalytic converter, he changed the oil, and fixed my crazy blinker.
Before my sister introduced me to Tom at Catskill, I had another mechanic. The other mechanic was honest but not as competent as Tom. Tom's prices are better, he does the work when he says he will in the time he says it'll take and he doesn't overcharge.
During the months that I was saving up for the catalytic converter, my check engine light was constantly on. Tom offered to check it every month, FOR FREE, to make sure there wasn't anything else going on, until I was ready to get the catalytic converter. He never found anything else. And now that I've got the catalytic converter, and Tom knows that I need to pass smog, he told me to drive it around this weekend and bring it back Monday so he can make sure it'll pass.
